Miso Ramen is easily my favorite ramen spot in the Raleigh area and a place I've consistently enjoyed every time I've visited. The flavors here are rich and comforting, especially when it's cold outside. My go-to orders are the Spicy Tan Tan and the Tonkotsu, both of which are packed with flavor and always hit the spot. The broth is satisfying, the noodles are well-cooked, and it's exactly the kind of meal you crave on a chilly day. This would have been a five-star review for me in the past, but I've knocked it down slightly because the prices have been creeping up. It's starting to feel a bit steep for what used to be an easy, go-to lunch spot, even though the quality is still there. That said, the food itself remains excellent, and I'll absolutely continue coming back, just a little less often for lunch than I used to. Food comes very quickly but very limited seating so keep that in mind if going during peak dining hours. Still a top-tier ramen option in Raleigh.
We stopped by to grab a bite to eat around noon. David took our order and was super friendly and patient. He talked us through some options, including a spicy tomato base for the vegan ramen, which wasn't on the menu. It was delightful! Both ramen bowls we ordered were packed with goodies (mushrooms, baby bok choy, corn, scallions, etc). We even had probably 1.5 times the amount of ramen that normally comes in bowls this size. By the end of the meal, we were stuffed. Oh yeah, when David saw our son sharing some ramen with us, he brought us out another bowl and chopsticks for him. Class act. We ate outside because the weather was perfect, and the outdoor eating area is large and had some bangers playing on the radio. All around it was a great dining experience.
Just went today and can't wait to go back! Probably the best food I've seen in the most unassuming location. Smaller inside area and order counter but plenty of seating on the tented patio. The man working the counter was doing it all but still friendly and joked with our toddler. We got the spicy tan tan and chicken curry along with dumplings and edamame. I'd recommend all of it. The depth of flavor in the dishes from such a small kitchen is amazing. I don't think we will make it a week without going back for more. Only warning would be to dress accordingly for slurping ramen.
I came in on a cooler day, notable because this place is fairly small inside but has outdoor seating. It was starting to fill up, but I still got an indoor bar-style seat. They have a small menu like most ramen places, but there was a vegetarian special in addition to the standing option that I came for. I stuck with what is apparently their classic. Their curry ramen was fantastic, with a brightly colored mix of vegetables and a excellent broth that really popped with a squeeze of lime. They use noodles with kale in them, which are green enough and bitter enough to know you're getting some kale but which complement the other ingredients well. So there is a ton of actual vegetable in this veggie ramen (and some tofu so you're getting some protein). I ordered some tea and let it steep a bit too long, but it was good quality loose leaf tea. They had mochi and some appetizers as well.
I have driven by this restaurant multiple times over the last few months. I finally decided to stop and try it out. Miso Ramen Bar is a great spot. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious and the vibe is chill. I'm going to be honest and share that it took me a little bit to choose a menu item to try. I landed on the Miso Ramen. The broth has a strong, miso flavor that is completed with ramen, of course, a boiled egg, mushrooms, chicken and additional veggies. The meal is enough to split over two days, which is exactly what I did.
Very nice location, everyone was so nice and we were seated quickly. We were in the area and stopped by for lunch. I ordered the Tonkotsu and it took a while, so I was a little disappointed that my brother was lukewarm. Other ramen spots also have a variety of add ons; like wonton skins, fish cake etc. they offer none of that. In the end, I would go back again, but maybe try a rice dish.
If you want to pay for just the food--not service, presentation, or vibe--this is your place! The ramen noodles are solid: good texture, big portions, and fresh flavors. Presentation-wise, there isn't much distinction among the different bowls since most come with similar toppings. Our favorite was the spicy tomato miso--it had the most depth of flavor and is probably the one we'd come back for (the miso ramen was also good). The tan tan noodles were less complex than versions I've had elsewhere. Not very spicy, but definitely ask for their homemade chili sauce!! It's fantastic and truly has a kick to it. Service was very friendly, even though it's more of a "do it yourself" style. We sat outside at a picnic table, which had its own casual charm. The inside is small and intimate, and I can imagine it gets packed once the weather turns colder.
I love this place so much. The place has such high quality, delicious food for such a casual feel. The prices are fair and the servers/staff are extremely attentive.
I haven't been here since the lockdown, and I was delighted when a friend suggested this order-at-the-counter place for lunch today! Seating is still tight, but the covered patio was perfect on this warm February day. Cesar was wonderful! He thoroughly explained the menu, brought our chicken curry ramen and tonkatsu ramen quickly, and even brought me a fork without judging me (chopsticks and I don't get along). The ramen was still amazing, and the prices were reasonable. Next time, I don't plan to wait so long before going back!
Miso Ramen bar is a cool little spot. They provided great knowledgeable service and the food was good. I enjoyed the Curry chicken rice bowl. Full of flavor. The many textures in the dish made for a tasty and enjoyable meal. I recommend give them a try.
Good ramen is very hard to find. The reviews for this place looked decent so decided to give it a try. It was such a rainy and gloomy day and I just wanted something warm and satisfying. They opened at 11am and I was first in the door to order. I got the Spicy Tan Tan ramen and omg, perfection. The flavors were phenomenal. Just enough spice. I was so happy. To order, you go to the register, place order and a number is given where you can put it in the holder at your table. Drinks are in the fridge to the right of the register and water is also available. I must say, that water was some of the coldest water I have ever had lol. Sometimes restaurants that offer water that is self serve is usually Luke warm, but not here! I will be back very soon! Plenty of parking in the plaza. They also have outdoor seating that is currently covered but accessible (it looks like) for the winter months.

Stopped by Miso Ramen Bar for lunch and left very impressed! We ordered the lunch combo with the Spicy Tan Tan Ramen and Bao Pork Belly Bun, plus a bowl of Miso Ramen and a bottle of Kirin. The lunch combo is an excellent deal, especially considering the quality and portion size. Both ramen broths were absolutely delicious--rich, flavorful, and satisfying. The Spicy Tan Tan had a great kick, while the Miso Ramen was wonderfully comforting and savory. Pairing everything with a cold Kirin was the perfect move! The pork belly bao bun was also generously filled with plenty of tender, flavorful pork belly. What really made the experience even better was the owner, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Definitely a spot we'll be coming back to again! read more
Best ramen in the area. We are from Southern California and we finally found a quality tonkatsu. This pork broth is one of the longer broths to make and you can tell they did it right. Great service, quick and happy to serve! They do not skimp on amount of food either. The price you pay here is great compared to west coast. Lots of thick pork, charred, and lots of noodles and toppings. High quality blended chili oil was also a surprise. We'll be back! I ordered Spicy #2 but I think a great order is to try the tonkatsu regular and the spicy #3, order the side of chili oil! Thanks team! Very good job read more

My girl usually orders Tonkotsu and I usually order the Spicy Tantan ramen. The broth of both ramen are delicious, and the ingredients with the egg, meat, and garnishes are well-balanced. Compared to other ramen spots, Miso Ramen Bar offers a good anount of well-cooked pork. Tonkotsu Ramen has about 4 pieces of pork and the Spicy Tantan has fair amount of ground pork. The broth tasted rich and the eggs were perfectly cooked. Every ingredient in the ramen compliment the overall dish well, and unlike Hokkaido Ramen in Morrisville, you don't need to pay extra to get egg and corn with your ramen. The default servings are satisfying enough but if you want to adjust spiciness level, my girl was able to do that by asking for chili that she could add. Customer service is nice; There's usually a tall European-looking gentleman who served customers well. We got a punch card that will almost get us a free ramen once we get 10 stamps. You can self-serve water, and they offer other beverages as well. Of course, a bottle of Asahi or Sapporo would go well with ramen. We've also been to the Raleigh location once but the Cary location's smaller area, we prefer this location as it's more accessible, more welcoming, and better-lit. The Raleigh location didn't even have punch card that could get you free ramen (we even asked if they can stamp our punch card from Cary location but sadly, they don't do that). It's nice to see anime always playing on Miso Ramen Bar's TV. The smaller area can be concerning when this place gets packed. We haven't yet invited a family group to eat here but since we highly-recommend it, we will soon. They have some tables outside the small space but hope they will be able to expand. My minor issue with Miso Ramen Bar is its limited menu. There are appetizers and we've tried the 2 pieces of pork buns but we thought that most of their appetizers are overpriced and just not appealing. Even 2 skewers are priced around $8 to $10. Door to Door in Cary has better appetizers. It would be nice if Miso Ramen Bar also served cold appetizers like beef tendon or tripe. We also tried rice bowl dish once and it's nothing special. If you want great quality ramen, Miso Ramen delivers. We will definitely return again. I'd love to give this place 5 stars in the future if they're able to expand their menu and improve non-ramen options. It would also be nice if they offered Spicy Beef like Hokkaido's. Nonetheless, Miso Ramen Bar in Cary, NC is currently the best ramen spot in the Triangle NC area that we've been to. read more
Nom nom. Hadn't been here in years, and wasn't sure what to expect food or otherwise. Upon getting there, I remembered the location, but not the food. Plenty of spots in and outside, and cute ramen pictures inside. The ramen broth was very good, and the spice level on most dishes was 0-3. Got 3 on Tonkatsu noodles with shoyu (sp). Their spice was nice with ground chilis instead of pepper flakes. Nicely soft boiled egg, and well cooked noodles. Definitely worth another trip. Oh, had the pork buns. Very good. Service wise, they were super friendly and checked back a couple times to make sure we were happy. Boop read more

This place is so delicious! Came for lunch while in town for work. Service was fast and so food was so good! Highly recommend the chicken and rice bowl. Get the chili oil on the side if you want some spice! It has some serious heat to it. Everybody loved their ramen bowls. And they let some of the girls in my group get a kids ramen bowl which was still a good size. Give this place some love! read more

I absolutely love this place! I highly recommend the Spicy Tan Tan, Takoyaki and the Pork Belly Buns. Food is consistently amazing and the service is friendly! The ambiance is nice, it's a small place, there's usually a show or movie playing on the tv and there is outdoor seating. read more
Stopped here after picking someone up from the airport and I will be taking any excuse to come back! The staff were super friendly and helpful, I have allergies they were able to adjust for. Our food came out very fast! While the seating area is a bit tight, the space itself felt open and clean. We sat indoors but the patio area looked nice as well. And the ramen was incredible! I grew up eating authentic ramen and just the smell made me so nostalgic. The chashu was cooked perfectly and the broth was so flavorful. Highly recommend adding a small bit of their homemade chili oil as well, but be sparing because it packs a punch. read more

I'm a frequent patron here. Their spicy tomato miso ramen is best, just more acidic so I don't get it too often. The tonkotsu ramen is very creamy and light. The miso ramen is heavier and saltier. But all the ones I've tried are really good so far! Service is always on point, and the ambiance is like any other casual ramen joint. read more

The ramen is so good! The udon is so-so. Definitely order their name dish lol. The staff were so nice, they seemed happy to explain the dishes and substitute some ingredients for us. Pricier but the portions are plenty. We challenged ourselves to our own little music trivia with the anime music being piped over the speakers. read more

Who doesn't love ramen?! On the nook of a shopping center, this restaurant is a must try! It's small in the inside but the have seating outside. In the winter they have it sheltered and have heating lamps. I went for the tonkotsu which is a rich pork broth with pork inside and ALL of the goodies. The soft boiled egg is my favourite part. The pork buns was so soft and pillowy it's was like a first kiss haha. You should really give these a try. The cucumbers inside adds a bit of freshness, the carrots give it texture and the sauce brings it all together. To-go plates and napkins are self serve but my server brought them to me. There's free water coolers which is a great option! read more

The food was incredible! I had the veggie curry (and I usually prefer tonkatshu) as I am trying to eat less meat and it was so delicious. They tried to tofu before putting into the soup so it was textured and meaty. I did not miss the meat at all. The broth was rich and flavorful. My son had the kids tonkatsu and he tried my curry broth and said it was delicious. I didn't remember to take a picture of his bowl. It was perfectly portioned for kids. The service was quick and unobtrusive. The energy is very casual. You order at the counter, is given a number and you pick your seats and put your number on the holder. Togo containers, silverware, plastic ware for take out is self served. Water and paper cups are self served. Just a nonfussy place with simply delicious food. Oh and the pork belly buns are tasty too! I can not wait until my son craves ramen again! read more

I absolutely love this little ramen shop! I've only eaten the veggie tofu curry ramen but it hits the spot every time. The kids size portion is more than enough so I can't imagine how much larger the regular portion is, so if you're not one for eating too much, try that size. The staff is very nice and attentive. The seating inside isn't extremely spacious but there's also an outdoor seating area with picnic tables and even a few heat lamps for the colder months. There are water stations inside and outside, too. read more
Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy. Restaurant was clean. Staff did not greet us as we stood by the register to order our food but did answer a question I had. Food came out hot and flavorful with a good portion of tofu and noodles. Very filling. read more

Been craving ramen a while and my friend recommend me this! This place has fun wall art and the spicy tan tan ramen with some extra tempura shrimp and omg it was delicious Just the right flavor profile and it wasn't so spicy you can't eat it but just a great solid broth flavor and the pork are good pieces And I had to get Calpico lol I love those! read more

Probably my favorite ramen place in the Triangle area! Tonkotsu ramen is a classic- wonderfully creamy with the perfect amount of toppings (chashu was just fatty enough and very tender; ajitsuke egg had the perfect consistency with its jammy yolk). Spicy tomato miso ramen is very unique (could definitely taste the tomato & miso flavor profiles) and had nicely crisp tempura shrimp. Surprisingly, the chili garlic mazemen was my favorite- so much amazing umami. Pork belly fries and takoyaki were good, but nothing to write home about. Do beware of their spice- definitely packs a punch. Service is pretty fast and ambiance is casual (indoor & outdoor seating available). 10/10 would recommend! read more
I got the miso ramen and it was probably one of the worst ramen I've ever had. I'm not sure if I just came on an off day but the broth was so salty it was practically inedible. I'm very surprised this place has such good reviews! read more
Excellent food full of flavor! Would have given a 5 but the environment could be cleaned up a bit. Decor is a bit mismatched and all over the place but otherwise, service was excellent, food came quick and the price for what you get is great! We got 3 full dishes (1 adult and 2 kids) with one appetizer and was $44.38 Overall a great stop and a place we will be back to! read more

They have various kinds of broth made with beef or pork. They may also use mushroom but I don't believe seafood. Always good to double check.
Do they have gluten free options - rice noodles?
Miso Ramen Bar now offers rice noodles as a gluten-free option. The kale noodles (while not gluten free) are a great choice if you want to make your bowl a little healthier!
