We have been to Mikes in Apex and thought this restaurant would be good also but it was horrible. Where do I start! We arrived at about 6:30 pm but that's no excuse for terrible food. I ordered the 1/2 chicken which ended up being a 1/4 but worse is that the cook put it in the oven to reheat it and ended up over cooking it and the owner agreed. I also ordered the macaroni and cheese again it was reheated in the microwave so it caused hot and cold spots. The server came by and asked however thing was and I told her not good she told me she would see what she could do. The owner came over and said the cook just pulled out a fresh macaroni and cheese which turned out better. To add insult to an already bad meal they charged us full price for my meal so we paid $11.99 for macaroni and cheese! We will not eat in any of Big Mikes again. Serve was okay! read more

Found this little gem on Yelp! Co-workers in town from Florida wanted a good bbq place before heading to the airport. It was between Brew N Que and City BBQ. I took them to Brew N Que and it did not disappoint. Sad it was lunch tho because I really wanted a beer. We ordered pork mac n cheese, brisket mac n cheese and the brisket plate. The mac n cheese was ooey gooey. The brisket MnC was super rich. But, my pork version was perfect. It's on the menu as an appetizer but we ordered it for our main. The vibe is fun and the servers are really nice. Next time I'm in town I'll be back for dinner so I can drink. Or, maybe lunch again without my boss. read more

Great spot, very friendly staff. It's a beer store and a bar and a BBQ joint. The pulled pork was excellent. The burnt ends were only so/so. Great list of local beer on tap. There are a lot less beers on tap than what is listed on the website, but they still had several kegs going. I'll be back for sure on my next trip. read more

What a amazing place! It was the first time there and I will definitely make it a stop at least once a month. The food was fantastic, I had the brisket and my date had the pork, both were phenomenal. The cornbread was the best I've ever had, same for the collards. The staff was amazing, extremely fun, polite and helpful. And the atmosphere of this place is awesome, definitely something you absolutely have to try. The only downside was that I arrived too late for burnt ends...my fault, not theirs. read more

This place is the real deal. Terrific meat. Great sauce. Redneck nachos are yum. The banana pudding is YUM. This southerner is HAPPY & that isnt always easy to do. Thanks Big Mike's! read more

Best BBQ in the triangle. The wings and the potatoes are to die for. Love their pulled pork. Haven't had an opportunity to try brisket yet but hopefully soon. read more

Best BBQ I've ever had. Their potato salad is the greatest potato salad I've ever had. Amazing BBQ.

Really good beer selection and fun place to eat. Good BBQ and great service. Small though so be flexible when you get there. I wish it was a bit bigger. Check it out! read more

I really love BBQ and I think they do a great job here with really good BBQ and combination bottle shop. They also have craft beers on tap that go well with their BBQ. My favorite is the huge Big Cheesy pimento and bbq grilled cheese sandwich. Their sides are pretty amazing too. The ambience is interesting as this place is pretty small but the staff is nice and the food is good. I've eaten there twice and both times the food was great. read more

Very good BBQ in an unassuming location. The banana bacon pudding for dessert was bomb! Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I thought the sauces could have been better (only 3 are offered). read more

Not impressed, brisket portion was small and a little dry. Blue cheese slaw not very blue cheesey. Pulled pork was good, but nothing original. read more

Krunk food - so tasty. Great selection of beers, staff is on it and always on the hustle.

Visiting from California and we were looking for some authentic NC bbq. The food was delicious and service was great. Our server was so knowledgeable about everything, we thought he was the owner. True passion for food and brew. read more

Service was not at all knowledgeable of the menu items. When we asked questions about ingredients we received blank stares and a questioning response. The waitress didn't even bother to go ask someone else so she could inform us. As we were eating we had to stop them from taking our tray away even though it still had food on it. Then one of the servers literally told incoming people that if they wanted to wait we would be done soon and they could have our seats. We were literally sitting two feet away as he shared that info. The food was okay but it wasn't anything exceptional and not worth the hassle. read more

Yes. Yes. Great brisket. Great wings. Lots of good beer. Great service. Say no more

So good. It may be small but the food is delicious. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is unconventional in a good way ! Its worth checking out and I know I will be back. read more

This was a good little place with some good eatin'! Their wings were yummy and the staff was super nice!

Service good for taking order but didn't see anyone once sandwich which was more like a slider was delivered. The quality of the sandwich was outstanding but quantity was overpriced it was more like a slider instead of a sandwich. The price of $9.50 a bit too high for the portions. No one asked how the food was or if I'd like a refill of my ice tea until I went to pay my bill. I waited for the cashier until she finished her conversation with the young male patron. She looked over her shoulder a couple of times with a look of I was inconveniencing her time with the male patron. When asked how the food was and I responded it was okay it was as if I had insulted her. Would I eat there again? Sure, the food is good, but can't rave over their service or prices. read more

Food is amazing. An excellent twist on some standard bbq favorites. Try the beefy mac it's amazing! Great selection of beer. Few on tap but a constant rotation. Lots of bottles in house to choose from. Service is excellent. Can't go wrong here!!!! read more

Maybe I went on an off day? I didn't like the food at all. The meat was dry, the slaw was sour, the mac and cheese was dry (would have been happier with velveeta). The beans were the only thing I enjoyed. I see all the high ratings but honestly I'm scared to go back and spend more money on food and still not care for it. I probably won't go back. read more

We came in for lunch over the weekend, just looking for good BBQ, and def found that. I had the brisket, and my boyfriend tried the chopped BBQ sandwich, both were tasty, though obviously my Burnt end brisket stole the show (Burnt ends foreverrrrr). Service was fast and friendly here, and the beer selection was good. The only downside is that seating is pretty limited. read more

I enjoy my BBQ as much as the next, however was disappointed here. Brisket was tough and chewy, pork was dried out. Nobody asked how my meal was, otherwise I would have shared it with them. read more

My husband and I use to really love this place. (Think 3 times a week dining in) but the prices are getting higher (possibly for a valid reason) and the portion sizes are getting smaller by the day. I really would love to give this place a 3.5 stars. That being said, the food is still much better than anything else in this area. The brisket is the go to. Please don't come here and miss out on the potato salad. It's single handedly responsible for at least one star in this review. Even if you are someone who doesn't do potato salad you would probably love the one here. The wings make for an awesome appetizer if you like them smoky with a dry rub and they'll let you turn them into a plate with sides if you ask. Really the loss of stars here is the price hike and the decrease in portion size because the foods pretty great and the people are pretty great too. read more

What a great beer selection . Our waiter was excellent and very knowledgeable. The food was very good. I would definitely return.

Love some Big Mike's! Great 'cue and plenty to browse while grabbing some takeout. Good thing they don't have burnt ends every day or I'd be broke. read more

Great selection of brews and the BBQ is even better. Not a big dining area so if you're with a larger party I suggest getting there early during peak times. read more

Soooooo....service was nice. Some recent reviews seemed to have caught them understaffed perhaps. All very helpful and friendly. With that being said, I can't remember having worse BBQ. Got the Mikes Platter so we could try everything and also got the BBQ egg rolls. First the positives: potato salad was tasty...wouldn't call it that, would say it's roasted potatoes with melted cheese. The sweet tea wasn't too sweet which was nice. The smoked wings have a tasty dry rub on them and were cooked nicely. And that's it. Idk what they were doing with the egg rolls. They had almost zero flavor. Drowning them in their sauce helped but honestly, George's from Food Lion is a better sauce. The brisket was cold, tough and dry. The NC pulled pork was bland and dry. The chicken BBQ was ok if you got sauce...if not it was bland and dry. The smoked sausage was cooked great with a great skin but overall not flavorful. The cornbread was very crumbly and overly "caramelized" (burnt). The blue cheese slaw was just below average slaw with some blue cheese crumbles in it. All in all, glad it was a company lunch so we wasted their $45 instead of own. Thought it was weird they have their fridges in the dining area. Not nit picking but I can't imagine what they sent out is what the owner expects to come out of their kitchen. No plans in going back but who knows what the future holds. If you like "bama" cue, I would definitely recommend heading to Moe's in DT Durham! Not even in the same league. read more

Great service. Shanae & Eli were super friendly & helpful. Quick service. Nice variety of beers. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Not bad bbq but also not great. Some of the sides don't seem fresh and the brisket is hit or miss. Sometimes it's great other times is dry Wait staff is lacking read more

We waited 30 minutes for the toughest and most flavorless bbq that we have ever had. The brisket was so chewy, dry, and hard to swallow that it felt like I was going to choke. The pulled pork didn't resemble being pulled; it had no texture and was mushy like the stuff you find at the bottom of a lake. There was little or no smoke. The collards are diced into tiny bits; why? The mac n' cheese is grainy, clearly showing how little they know about cooking cheeses at high temperatures. What the heck are they doing to their food?!? Awful! Stay away! read more

It has been a while since I have felt like a restaurant has literally bent over backwards to try to please a customer... This happens at the Brew N Que. The food is absolutely unbelievable. The manager took my plate and asked if I liked my slaw (I hadn't eaten much of it) I told him I wasn't much of a fan of slaw in general. He offered to bring me a brand new side or dessert for the inconvenience. I then had to explain to him that the barbecue and Mac and cheese is absolutely world class and I was completely happy (and full!!!) We will be back, I want to try more of the menu!!!! Simply Excellent great job! Not to mention the eclectic craft beer selection..... read more

This place is awesome! Top notch service and food. My husband and I shared the egg rolls as an appetizer. DEEElish! We ordered 2 but really only needed one. I ordered a pimento cheese sandwich with kale slaw both were very good. My husband got the beef brisket plate with collards and baked beans, all of which were awesome. We left with a 6 pack of craft brews & full bellies:0) We will become regulars here! read more

This place is very small but the food is phenomenal. I had the smoked chicken plate with Mac and cheese and potato salad. My girlfriend had the pork bbq plate. They were very good. The banana pudding for dessert is a great as well. read more

Wings were awesome, out shined the brisket for me which is what someone recommended. Smoked potato salad was also very good and mac and cheese was mac and cheese, never had a bad serving! Small place and gets crowded quick on the weekends, you owe it to yourself to come here and feast! read more

My favorite BBQ in Apex/Cary area. Best side Kale salad I've ever had!! (seems crazy you would be getting a kale salad at a bbq place)....also love the warm Smoked Potato Salad. And don't forget the Banana Pudding! read more

Come for the burnt ends and beer. And make sure to try the blue cheese slaw and smoked potato salad. Top of my list for BBQ in the Triangle. And the beer selection is phenomenal and always changing. read more

I hesitate in writing this, since it means yet more people will be coming to this gem. The brisket is outstanding, the nc style pork is wonderful, and the potatoes and slaw are heavenly. The Only reason for 4 stars rather then 5 is that the Resturant is so small that it's hard to get a seat sometimes. But if you carry out the it's simply the best in the area. read more

Great BBQ hidden in a smaller location. I almost regret sharing it because it's so good and we immediately sat down! Two things hard to come by by today's world of restaurants. You do not want to miss this! Great food great people great atmosphere. Burnt ends FTW! read more

I like that the restaurant has expanded for more seating. I, once again, got the BBQ egg rolls and they are the bomb. I also tried the smoked wings which have just the right amount of spiciness. I was definitely more impressed this time. However, my husband was disappointed by the choice of sides with the bbq tray. 3 types of cole slaw seems like overkill. He got the mac n cheese, but it had no flavor. The baked beans and collards are the only good choices in my opinion. read more

Brew N Que is amazing!!! Their pulled pork is some of the best in the triangle, and the burnt ends brisket is just as good! I also love their Mac N Cheese and the potato salad! The Mac n cheese is some of the best I've had and I LOVE Mac n cheese. They also have great service and beer selection. We love it so much they are catering our engagement party!
