Great spot tucked away in the heart of midtown Mobile. I was quickly seated and served and ordered the chicken and waffles and a pancake. The waffle was soft and fluffy, while the chicken tenders were juicy and flavorful. I'm not sure what they do but the chicken taste like it was brined and marinated well. The batter was flavorful but not overbearing and complimented the meat. Overall a great meal and I will definitely be going back. Update: Since writing the original review, I have been here on several occasions alone and with friends. This place continues to be one of my favorite brunch spots in Midtown! read more

Finally, I made it to this location where I didn't have to wait at least an hour. But it was on a Tuesday around lunchtime with my son for his birthday December 20. He wanted French toast it was his birthday so he would get French toast. I ordered him the French toast and the sides that come along with it he explained that it was average I ordered the oyster salad and a pancake to satisfy my sweet tooth. Always well worth the wait. I've been twice and food was delicious and service was quick! Wait is 45min or so on weekends but once you're in they get you in and out quickly. I am vegan and never have an issue asking for substitutions to accommodate that. I recommend the avocado toast and instead of egg on top ask for the hash brown patty. Delicious! read more

Stopped in for breakfast while working nearby. Just wanted something different than my hotel offering. Let me say BBB did not disappoint. This place is clean and the staff is friendly and on point. I had the Creole Omelet no cheese. The omelet was loaded with large pieces of shrimp and andouille sausage with just the right amount of spice. Served with fries and I chose a huge cat head biscuit with sausage gravy as apposed to toast. All good was served at the perfect temp and the coffee was hot. Definitely recommend BBB for breakfast. Just get the Skillet Potatoes. They are amazing. Some magic is involved in the making of them. Sure, onions and potatoes, and maybe bacon, but also - magic. Customer service was awesome! I had the biscuit crumble with sausage gravy instead of tomato gravy. It was SO good! The portion was huge for the price and as a bonus, it reheated well for leftovers. Pretty decent new restaurant! There was a 45 mn wait at 0930 so we got a spot at the bar which was first come first serve. We both had cold brews, and the bartenders were nice. We ordered the biscuits and gravy and the biscuit breakfast sandwich. You can choose between regular or spicy bacon which I liked. We'd come back but if you can find any other parking than the parking lot out back I'd recommend it. People start parking on both sides of the lane into the lot, and it makes it one lane of traffic to and out of the parking lot. We saw a 7 car jam at one point. read more

Big Bad Breakfast takes "Bad" to a new level. We have eaten at Big Bad Breakfast several times now. At first it was good, but today's experience takes the cake. First, and this was our experience the last time we went a few weeks ago, it took forever for our meal to arrive. Today, when it finally did, the biscuits were hard as a brick and crumbly, the skillet potatoes were waaay too salty and had too much grease. I would have complained, but did not want to wait any longer to eat. One other time when we went, we both got sick from the respective Bennys we ordered. I should have called them, but time passed and I did not. I doubt we will ever go back. One thing about today, we ordered the breakfast biscuit, which was listed on the menu as $5.50. In the fine print it was an additional $3.50, I believe, to add meat. I did not see this until after we got the bill for the biscuits and looked at the menu a second time. Nine dollars for a biscuit, I don't think so! Sorry, BBB, I want to love you, but the quality has suffered. read more
