This is one of my favorite hidden gems. The food is phenomenal and they require a little more time to prepare these fresh dishes. So if Karen is with you take her somewhere else for fast food. Good food takes time!
Nothing beats the warmth of a perfectly spiced dish! Seven Spices Grocery and Grill is an awesome place offering all sorts of entrees and appetizers. In the front is the grocery store and the grill is in the back. The grocery store was a really cool place with lots of unique Mediterranean drinks, desserts, spices, canned food, fruits, vegetables etc. We ended up buying a bag of mini chocolate bars, and sharing them in the car. Next time I want to take some time to really look through the store. There were so many interesting food items that I would love to try. The grill offers table seating as well as take out. We had a party of four and visited on a Sunday night, and there was plenty of seating. We ordered appetizers and entrees. My favorite appetizers were the falafel, baba ganoush and the hummus. For my entree,, I ordered the shrimp kebab with lentil soup and fresh vegetables. The lentil soup was absolutely amazing. Everyone in my party wanted to try it because it was SO GOOD!! The shrimp and vegetables were also amazing!
The restaurant is at the back of the grocery, you literally can't see it from the front. It's a great space with dim lighting and romantic atmosphere. It was a few days before Thanksgiving and there were many large groups dining. I didn't get the name of the young woman who served us, but she was delightful. Following a sad Indian food adventure which you can find in my other reviews, we stopped here for some dessert. We shared our woe and apologized for not starting here. We ordered the Baklava and Kunafa which was also recommended to us. We also had a gyros plate (shared as an appetizer because of hungry kids) and everything was delicious.
Back in my he store front - a surprise little restaurant- lots to choose from - will try other items next time
I called in my order , arrived and paid it for on my card. The restaurant said they didn't receive the funds. I showed them my account on my phone and contacted my bank so they could be assured it was not on my end. They still refused me my food and wanted me to pay a second time along with telling me I wanted to scam them when I frequent here. DO NOT RECOMMEND .
Wow! I simply don't know where to begin. This was a surprise and I mean that in a really good way. We recently moved to the coastal area and I have been missing being able to go every week to a middle eastern grocery store. Imagine our surprise to find one AND it has an incredibly delicious restaurant tucked away in the back! We were so happy to be able to pick up spices, sweets, and Lebanese yogurt. We decided to try the restaurant and it was well worth the visit! They have Lebanese tea which we absolutely love and is hard to find. It's a refreshing drink of iced tea with rose water and orange blossom water. It was hard to narrow down our choices on what to order since the menu had so many items that we love. We ordered zaatar loaf which is pita bread with zaatar seasoning and olive oil which is one of our favorites. We ordered a chicken shawarma, chicken shish took sandwich and a beef shawarma. We were surprised that our sandwiches came with a choice of soup or salad in addition to fries, rice or vegetables. We all opted for the lentil soup. It was wonderful! Our sandwiches came out quickly and we tried all three and not a single negative comment was made. There honestly wasn't much conversation at the table since the food was so delicious. All three sandwiches were hot, full over flavor, and delicious! We all loved the vegetables that had roasted potatoes mixed in. The rice wand fries were very good as well. Our server was extremely nice and answered all of our questions and made great recommendations. The restaurant is cozy and has quite a few tables. I love the music that they played. All of the employees were so friendly and helpful from the shop up front to the restaurant in the back. The shop is very clean and easy to find any items that you may need. I am so glad that we found it. I will be able to soothe my inner Lebanese cravings with the items from both! Delicious food and so you know that you simply cannot go wrong!
It's so good makes me miss my middle eastern side You eat here you're getting the real deal..
Came in right at dinner time and only one table was sat. Server was very efficient and friendly from the minute I sat down. Soon as my hummus arrived the place began to fill up quickly. Enjoyed the creamy hummus and grilled chicken but would have liked some hot sauce for the rice to set it off. The garlic sauce that came with the meal was good and the mixed veggies cooked just right. Will return again for a healthy meal. Nice touch was the lentil soup that came with the meal.
We are long term fans. My suggestions include the rose tea to drink. I love the hummus or falafel as an appetizer. The arayas is a good dinner option-but make sure you add the onions and cheese option. The desserts are definitely worth trying. This is a great place if you like authentic food. I always ask the staff for recommendations and they have never steered me wrong.
I was recently in town visiting from NC and decided to listen to all the other reviews and checked this place out and it was amazing!! What I liked the most: Hot grape leaves (as they should be) with rice and beef with a side of labneh. Lamb chops were juicy and tender and came with side of lentil soup served with pita croutons and fries! Homemade Warbat. Ashta (cream) wrapped in fillo dough and fried!! Lebanese Iced Tea made with light syrup. So good. Kennedy was an amazing server and recommended all the right things! Can't lose with any of the things above. read more
Food was hot and fresh. The fries were good and plentiful but I wish there wasn't so much dry seasoning. Chicken shawarma wrap was juicy and the pickles gave great contrast. Comes with a soup as well! Would come back! They got very busy just after 12pm for lunch rush on a Wednesday so come earlier. read more

The meat pies were burned and the manager said they were up to his standards and he would not take them off my bill. The waitress followed us out the restaurant and told us to not come back. read more

I'm new to the area so it's hard to find good restaurants that have great tasting food and service. I'm so glad I came here!! Jaleh, my waitress was outstanding. Super friendly, and very professional. She knew it was my first time and make great recommendations! The food is SO SO SOOOO GOOD! Everything tastes extremely fresh. The Greek salad was a great appetizer. The Lamb Shish Kabob comes with rice, grilled vegetables and your choice of a soup or Greek salad. I've you've never tried this place out. I HIGHLY recommend it! read more

This is a quant little restaurant in the back of a Grocery market. Much like you would find in the Middle East. The food was good. Lintel soup was a bit grainy but very tasty. Then went on to the hummus which was just as you would find in Saudi or Qatar. Great. Next was lamb Chops. You can't go wrong. Smoky with a nice char cooked to perfection. There was a bit of a wait at the door but well worth it. Servers are attentive and super friendly. If you like middle eastern food don't miss out. read more

Stopped there for lunch and was impressed with the food and service. It appeared they only had one waitress and she was in overdrive trying to keep up. I ordered a lamb kabob sandwich with rice and a sweet tea. The sandwich and tea were incredible as was the rice. The restaurant is in the rear of a small store and nicely tucked away like a hidden jewel. Other customers coming in were talking about how good the food is and I heard some recommend the firecracker shrimp and baklava, I guess I know what I'm trying next time. read more
Came across this grocery store doubled as a restaurant during my weekend trip to Mobile. Their restaurant is separate from the grocery store placed all the way in the back so you still get a good sit down feel. There's plenty of seating so no wait necessary! Unfortunately the staff was short the day we went, but the waitresses were really on top of it! She got us our menus, drinks, and food very quickly!! Speaking of food, their portions are huge! You get a soup or salad with each sandwich or entree with a side to go along with it. I personally got a Chicken Kabob sandwich. I was very pleased with the spices on the chicken. It could've used some more sauce in my opinion but overall a good and filling meal! The staff were so nice and food so filling I'd definitely recommend to anyone in the area or even visiting! read more
Such a hidden gem! We love shopping at the grocery, and decided to stop in for an early dinner. We shared the dip mix, which was three generous portions of their dips, the chili sauce is delicious! We also got a bowl of the lentil and the carrot soups, each were very tasty! Then ended with the clotted cream dessert- very creamy, not overly sweet. Our waitress was very sweet, and did her best with all of us since she was the only one waiting on tables. Highly recommend and we will be back! read more
This place is a really neat Mediterranean market and also has a restaurant in the back. I loved browsing and looking at all of the items they have to offer. I can't wait to make dolmas with my grape leaves I purchased. We were a little disappointed the restaurant had completely shutdown for a few hours for a large catering order but I look forward to going back to try it out. read more

While traveling through Mobile, we found this looking for a place to stop for dinner. Never would have found or considered this without Yelp, nor would we have known to go all the way to the back of a very well-stocked store to reach the restaurant hidden behind it. The positive reviews we read were right on point: great food, reasonable prices, and unobtrusively good service. From the Vegetarian Sampler, there was nothing I didn't want to continue eating had there not been simply too much food. If we weren't heading for another hotel, I would have gladly taken every bit remaining and had a second, wonderful meal. Despite its secretive location, it had a lot of customers and was handling a brisk take-out load as well. Maybe our timing was lucky, but with just two servers (and maybe some pitching in from the kitchen), there was barely any noticeable wait throughout the meal. Try the Lebanese tea. It has some kind of rose water and orange citrus infused in it and is interesting and delightful. Wish we were coming back. If I'm ever back in Mobile, I will return. read more

Well I never knew I was part Mediterranean! This restaurant is located in the back of a store. Party of two that arrived a few minutes before the restaurant opened. After a few minutes the hostess and server took us to a table. She was very personable. Drink orders were taken and we ordered a combo appetizer with three dips, Hummus, Baba Gahnouj, and Labneh. For an entree I ordered Chicken Shawarma with rice, grilled veggies, and a Greek Salad with citrus dressing. My wife got the Moussaka. I would have to say this is one of those rare moments when an excellent front of house is perfectly complimented by a kitchen that is hitting on all cylinders. Every bite of every dish was clearly displaying a chef and staff that had a passion for fresh ingredients and tremendous flavor profiles. Absolute best recommendation for Seven Spices. read more

This restaurant is definitely one of Mobile's gems! In the back of a small grocery store is a restaurant that serves delicious Mediterranean cuisine. I ordered a gyro sandwich that came with my choice of a soup or salad, the gyro sandwich itself, as well as a side of fries, rice, or grilled vegetables. I can't believe how much food you get for the price! Not only was the quantity there, but the quality of the food was spot on. The salad was dressed well and came with little sweet grape tomatoes and cubes of feta cheese. The gyro itself was stacked with tons of meat, fresh vegetables, and a creamy sauce. Finally, the plate was stacked full with well seasoned fries. They used their blend of a Mediterranean spice that made the fries so delicious. I would definitely recommend coming to check this place out! Don't miss out on wasted opportunities by waiting as long as I did! read more

In the past - the side of grilled veggies were under seasoned and on the raw side. Now they are overly seasoned and doused with a cup of zatar - I could not eat more than 1 bite! The pita croutons for the my lentil soup were burnt. Why would a chef agree to serve burnt pita croutons? This makes me sad. And the wrap had such a meager portion of protein, but lots of onions and tomatoes. read more
