The employees are so nice and gave us great suggestions as the menu here is a little different from what we are used to at their Tuscaloosa location. They have these amazing cheese grits that will make you swoon! We ordered a sampler bowl and my husband ordered their Cuban sandwich. We also ordered small sides of their famously delicious carbonara orzo and tomato and spinach. We did get the grits as well. We also ordered the two different orzo pastas in a larger containers as we usually do to take home in addition to the grits. We also picked up a bottle of their Greek seasoning. Stopped in to give theirs gyro and the mixed grill sandwich a try. Their sandwiches were very skimpy with the meats and their sandwiches come with a side but not fries. Fries are an up charge of $1.50. The gyro tasted pretty good and the pita was toasted nicely I was very pleased with that. I spent $28 for 2 sandwiches and 1 skimpy fry. The employees were very nice and the service was quick. I will not go back it's too expensive for skimpy pita sandwiches. read more

Sank my teeth into their falafel sandwich pita with relief after a week of fried foods and gumbo. Not hell per se, but I needed my variety, and the curator I was working with in town recommended this place. I forget what my side was: I thought it was a veggie chili but it doesn't seem to be reflected in their menu so it was probably the spinach-tomato orzo pasta. The staff were friendly and jokey when I mentioned I was from New York, the land of 1,000 falafel sandwiches. I declined getting the plastic top for the side, but the sandwich, even if you're sitting in the establishment comes in a styrofoam clamshell in a plastic basket: Is this necessary with the wax paper already there? Couldn't this just be for takeout folk? I know it's the practice in town (plastic/styrofoam everywhere) but even McDonald's now serves their burgers in paper. While I would not equate this with traditional Mediterranean fare, I truly enjoyed my lunch. After perusing the menu, I opted for the redneck guru, which was basically a gyro with the addition of Conecuh sausage (a sausage that to its rabid and loyal following is elevated to a food fit for a diety in southern Alabama) and cheese. I opted as my side an orzo with tomato and spinach. My food was brought to my table and as I tore into it, I would not say it was authentic, but I enjoyed the smoky underlying taste that the Alabama revered Conecuh sausage gave to the gyro. My orzo was also outstanding. If I find myself in Mobile and craving an authentic gyro, I would not come here. However, I can see myself being in Mobile and finding just being in this city putting me in the mood for their redneck gyro. I would recommend here. A friendly staff and great food with a twist will guarantee my return here. read more

I did not take a pic (I ordered to-go) but the Sampler Bowl was a perfect lunch choice - Hummus, Stuffed Grape Leaves, Tomato-Cucumber  Salad, Housemade Tzatziki Sauce and Warm Pita Bread. Came in to get the portabella gyro but I found out they no longer offer that in the new menu. But I'm was pleasantly surprised they offered the beyond meat products and I ordered the beyond meat gyro it was great with a side Greek salad. My son ordered the impossible chicken Shawarma and my other son got the Dixie chicken his personal favorite. We was all very pleased with our food.
