This is my second time visiting Yellow Deli. It's a very unique place. It has a store inside the restaurant that you can buy tea and other products. When I first went to Yellow Deli I tried the Deli Rose. It was really good. There was a sauce on the sandwich that had a kick in it that made the sandwich taste delicious. This time I had the Cajun. It did not disappoint at all. I also bought a Hibiscus drink that was really refreshing. I also want to say the people at the restaurant are very nice.

Come here for delicious food, a unique and comfortable place and amazing service!! The Muffanotta and Reuben were delicious! The root beer is on tap and poured into a frosted mug. Loved it!!!

I discovered this place while I was working, as I drive this route on Halls Mill Road quite often, so my curiosity had been sufficiently piqued. So after an interesting lunch route, I found myself here yet again, and decided it was time to give this place a shot. The sign outside advertised teas, coffees, waffles and hot sandwiches, so I knew this place was going to be different than everything else in town, but didn't know how different it would be until I stepped inside! The dimly lit area with the rustic wooden booths and tables scored immediate points for me as I love visiting places that have a bit of a different feel! It just takes me back to a different time and a different place, when times were simpler. Now the folks running the place were such charming folks, very friendly and welcoming, quick with suggestions and very knowledgeable about their product. I asked them which sandwich would be good for a first time visitor, and they suggested The Deli Rose, which featured roast beef, corned beef, hot peppers, deli mustard, special sauce, mozzarella, onions and tomatoes on an onion bun. Sounded good, but I ordered it without the hot peppers and the special sauce because spicy and my blood pressure aren't a good match. It took them a while to prepare the sandwich, but I was okay with that as I was just enjoying downtime in this relaxed atmosphere. While I was waiting, I checked out the shop there, which sells a lot of local items, teas, coffees, honey, and other fresh goods. The married shopkeepers were also really nice, and the husband and I had some common ground as we both used to live in the same part of Washington State. I went back to check on my sandwich, which was ready by this point, and dug in. It was very lovingly prepared, and had a hearty taste, and was very filling! Every ingredient popped, and it was easily one of the better hot sandwiches I've had in a while. It was served with a side of potato chips, and an iced tea that I ordered, which was beautifully balanced in flavor. I love discovering little gems like this place! And I hope that this review can help to bring them the traffic that they richly deserve! Great people, great atmosphere, great food! What more can you ask for, really?

Well, this was a great find. Our first visit, very welcoming people, eager to help. A faith based restaurant to serve people. Making many of their food for sale in the market and the breakfast / lunch items. Everyone that works here, many, are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. A very interesting story and puctures of their organization. Al in all, a delightful lunch. We will be back.

    Deli rose sandwich

The food was spectacular but the best part was the people. There were 2 gentleman behind the counter that were super excited to have us and talk to us about the whole establishment! The woman in the store was super sweet and gave me some cookies that she had from her sister :) her and her husband checked us out with my bottle of their homemade olive oil and some soap. The olive oil is made from Arbequina olives that are grown and pressed on their farm in Kansas and it's delicious ! We will absolutely be back!

Cajun sandwich and Deli Rose sandwich

We got the Cajun and Deli Rose sandwiches! Both were very tasty!! Not sure if they make their bread in-house, but the egg bun on the Cajun was reeaalllyy good and not like something you normally come by.

Best lunch restaurant anywhere. I travel and go to many but the home taste of everything I have had here makes it a 5 star!!

For instance, advised that my daughter was shy when the kid hesitated to order one day, the barista brightened up even more and put the girl at ease. Whether their coffee is good or not is completely subjective. I think it's good overall, but it might not be my first choice in town. But it's made with care, and as mentioned, roasted in house. Its popularity speaks to its quality. They also have a very good selection of pastries and other goodies to accompany your coffee, including a Mobile institution--cheesecake from a local company called Cotton Blues. The only gripe I have about Carpe Diem is their seating setup. There simply isn't enough of it. That said, I don't know how they could use the space more efficiently, since the cafe is small as it is. I prefer more private seating, which in other coffee houses I've been to has been accomplished with the judicious use of plants or high-backed chairs. The biggest component of the crowded seating is due to students from Springhill College across the street. Today, for instance, my husband and I were unable to find any seating at all. Even on the days when we can find seating, being entirely surrounded by people working quietly on their laptops feels awkward and lends a library-like feel to the atmosphere. It feels rude to have a conversation at a regular level. I feel like I'm intruding. I don't know how a coffee shop should handle this conundrum, as it's really not good business practice to limit customers' time while there, or to turn away clientele, even in an attempt to please all of their customers. There is already a back room which seems to be an unofficial space dedicated to students, but the overflow still takes up much of the cafe. That said, I enjoy Carpe Diem and going there is a nice little treat. I would definitely recommend it.

The morning glory (I think that's the name) muffin was excellent chock full of nuts, spices, raisins and a homemade taste like carrot cake. They had a selection of chocolate as well. It was beautiful inside. It got busy on a Sunday morning with a nice group of people. Staff was fine but not super warm. I'd go back. It's great.
