I recently left a review and just visited yesterday. Thankfully, even due to it being severly under-staffed they didn't scimp on the goodness of the food!!! Absolutely delicious. I don't know how Wynter, our server, pulled it off, but she did. Sadly, she was running around like a scalded chicken. Unfortunately for the business, it really has a domino effect. The staff suffers and most importantly, the customers suffer. In closing I just wanted to say that the food was again as before, delicious! If it is busy and they tell you it's a bit of a wait, unless you have something more pressing to do (than eat!) then please wait. It's worth it!! Trust me on that one. Decent breakfast spot in Mobile by Spring Hill college. Went on a Saturday morning around 9 and it wasn't too busy, but by 10 there was a wait. I sat at the bar by myself. The girl behind the counter gave me a water and a menu, but took a while to come over and get my drink and food order. My food didn't take long and my breakfast marg was good. For everything it was $25 which isn't bad! Prices and portion sizes were good. It was a little loud inside due to it being so busy but very much a southern comfort spot - to me at least. Alright, so where to start here: 1. Service - Absolute top notch service. Server's knew the menu items amazingly. They did mess up my order but I unapologetically appreciate that they immediately came up and said the order was messed up and they would compensate. Seems to be an amazing team! 2. Ambience - I will say the environment can get really overbearing and loud when it is packed, although the art and decor set a vibe. 3. Food - overall, the food was really good! I finally got to stop by and try this place. I ordered the chicken and waffle and it was super good!! The waffle was light and slightly sweet. The texture was wonderful. The chicken was well seasoned and complimented the waffle perfectly. My server Lauren was on point and did a great job! The manager stopped by make sure I was happy with my experience. I stopped in with some family recently. We were so pleased with the food and service. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The chicken and waffles were my favorite. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and the waffle was buttery and crispy... the location is perfect for large parties and is family friendly. They also serve double shot cocktails. Came in at 12:57pm was seated immediately! Was seat by the bar, bar staff , management and wait staff all hanging out. No one asking for our drink order just looking . Then the host asked would someone take the order two of the staff looked back and called Olivia . She took our drink order and our order happily.... Hmmm not a great first impression. Then the manager directed a gentleman into his office and asked if they would please find something to do. I assume new staff, young staff seem a bit immature. Walking are chatting, the floors can use a sweeping, and maybe spend time tiding up for closing makes more sense to me. I ordered the stuffed French toast with beyond sausage and my hubby ordered the chicken and waffles. Food was hot and delicious I wish one of my stuffed toast would have had more cream filling. But all and all it was good food. Staff needs a bit more training only a few wait staff was actually working others sitting at the bar and in the chairs by the child seats. Let me preface by saying I LOVE breakfast/brunch foods. I have tried pretty much every place in Mobile so I was very excited to eat here. We arrived around 1pm on a Thursday. No wait to be seated. Our waitress was very persistent in checking on us (seemed like every 5 minutes) but she was young so maybe this is her first gig... I had the biscuits, eggs, & gravy (comes with a side of cheese grits) and I also got a side of bacon bc I wasn't sure if the "chicken sausage gravy" would have enough meat. The gravy did have plenty of meat, and the chicken sausage had a good flavor without being too spicy/hot. The eggs were scrambled to perfection! Fluffy and not runny at all but needed more salt & pepper. Grits were great although I did need to add salt and pepper (not mad about that since most places over salt everything). Overall, my meal was decent but nothing special or unique. My husband had the honey butter chicken and waffles. He was very surprised by the blandness of the chicken breading. The waffle was a perfect, crispy Belgian. Again, his meal was fine but nothing special... We have several breakfast/brunch places in Mobile that offer more unique items in our opinion. I doubt we will be back to the Flying Biscuit. read more

The Flying Biscuit in Mobile was a fantastic breakfast stop. I went with the classic breakfast--eggs, creamy grits, a waffle, and bacon--and everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The eggs were cooked just right, the grits were smooth and comforting, the waffle was light and satisfying, and the bacon was perfectly crispy. My uncle and I went there Saturday morning and really enjoyed their food and service my uncle had the stuffed french toast with potatoes and bacon I had the flying biscuit breakfast with the creamy white cheddar grits bacon eggs and biscuit with butter and cranberry apple butter out of restaurants the flying has the best grits I ever had in my life I will definitely will be going again read more

Some of our food was really good. The grits are essentially a few grits floating in a bowl of heavy whipping cream. They're very good. The bacon was cooked well and was nice and crispy. Their biscuits are delicious and that apple butter runs circles around other chains. The eggs were ok, could have used a little more flavor. Potatoes were ok. Nothing exciting. The worst part of our meal was the sausage. It's called a chicken sage sausage patty and it was inedible. Since it's new, it has been pretty packed the times we came here. With concrete floors and bare walls, the noise level is intense. Having a conversation proved difficult. Our service was just ok. Drinks were only refilled once, one order was missing a side. Tickets for our group came out staggered instead of all at once. There are better options around the area for the price. Probably won't be back. read more

Came here this morning around 10. Husband and I both ordered Bloody Marys. Took quite a while to get but loved the drinks. Ordered eggs benedict for husband and I ordered french toast. After an extended period of time our server Olivia came by and said sorry for time but our food was coming right out. About ten minutes later as she wizzed by the table she said she was extremely busy, I've got all these tables, etc. Food finally came out and it was very good. I noticed 3 tables that came in after us that ate and left before we ever got served. And then the icing on the cake was Olivia's attitude. I paid the ticket of $49.46 in cash .$100 bill...she brought back a $50 bill.......my problem is not that she shorted the cash but her attitude. Great service and food! Hangover hash is my favorite breakfast in the city. It's reasonably priced and the location is super good.

Not good would be a compliment: tepid coffee served in an ice tea pitcher, classic eggs benedict's hollandaise sauce made with powder and the whole mess separated, English Muffin wasn't toasted, dusted potatoes were old, eggs cooked ok, the very thin slice of Canadian bacon tasted ok (the only thing they didn't screw up). read more

I went in yesterday and it was cool. Orange Juice was small but ok. Ordered DoorDash today and first thing they don't have grits without cheese. So if you're lactose intolerant don't worry about getting grits there, because it's not an option. So I had to switch it up and get chicken and waffles same thing I had the day before, now they are good however I wanted something else. They didn't send syrup so guess I won't be eating those and the 20 oz Orange juice is really only about 10oz I measured it. So I suggest yall get some 20 oz cups or just sale 10oz juice cause it's not fair I'm missing half of my orange juice read more

Definitely overrated, the food was less than mediocre but the service was great. Nice atmosphere, but the food was definitely not worth it. My omelette was overcooked and looked like a scrambler, the biscuit tasted like it was store bought and dry. My daughter's chicken Caesar wrap was overdressed and the chicken was tough. I really thought this would b my new favorite spot, especially because it is so close to my residence. Sorry but it's a no for me but I'm sure many others will like them. read more

Both bathrooms out of order, had to walk half a mile for a restroom open to the public. My server would not bring my mimosa and proceeded to sit beside our table with what i assumed to be a family member. i asked for the mimosa again, she nodded her head and continued to socialize. On top of that, the AC must be out bc me and my party are sweating. Appetizers/ sides not brought out but added to our bill, decided to count it as a loss than wait another hr for a correct check.
