    Bayou benny with breakfast potatoes
    McKinley H.

I have visited other locations of Brick & Spoon and was excited to try this one. It was fairly empty at 8 am on a Sunday morning, so my group of four was seated quickly. Our waitress was great and instantly brought us our drinks. She also was very helpful with helping me choose a dish, as this location did not have my typical order. I originally ordered the crab cake benny, but they were out of crab cakes, so I went with the bayou benedict per our waitress' recommendation. It was pretty good. The sauce was tasty with veggies that paired nicely with the shrimp and seasonings. Also the potatoes were amazing, so definitely do no skip out on those. My only complaint would be that I ordered my benny on a biscuit, and their biscuits were more dry and very light. I am more used to dense, buttery biscuits, so next time I would just order my benny on regular english muffins. Over all it was a great meal and everyone was happy with their breakfast. We left stuffed and satisfied.

So thankful this West Mobile location has an outside seating area - especially during COVID-19. The food is great - love the breakfast fries with egg over easy on top...

It's open y'all! Brick & Spoon finally has its 2nd location open in West Mobile, and I'm thrilled! Hubs and I have visited twice in two weeks! It's so convenient for our breakfast/brunch needs as it's in our neighborhood now, and the food quality is on par and the service is fast and friendly. My faves: Their Cafe beignet app (they have a unique take on beignets and I enjoy it)! Mimosa flight The Creole omelette The American breakfast when I'm feeling basic in the morning! (lol) Their Lattes Their portions are generous and the price is right!

We ordered all our food and drinks at the same time. After waiting almost an hour and seeing 2 tables that were seated after us get food before us with still no communication about what was taking so long, we left. No food came out. The manager brought food out and chatted with other customers. Our waitress seemed to be working really hard with not much help. We didn't get our free beignets. The manager didn't check to see what was the problem. Very disappointed with this location and how thing were handled or not handled.

Shrimp and Tasso macaroni & cheese minus the toast points bc I already ate those.

The strawberry kiwi mimosa special today was the bomb.com. The shrimp & tasso mac and cheese was delicious. I ate all of it. My boyfriend had the all American breakfast and loved it. He was finished before I was. The beignets as the app was a perfect precursor to our meals!

If you are in Mobile and looking for a great brunch pop in to Brick & Spoon. Delicious Bananas in Pajamas that's a spin off Bananas Foster in a wonton shell. Chorizo breakfast taco with mango salsa in a wonton shell. Super flavorful and great brunch menu including mimosas etc.

The food is wonderful and worth the wait! Wait time is usually long because they're busy but also don't seem to have enough employees on staff! Their spiked coffee drinks are great, if they have the ingredients in stock and the espresso machine is working! The servers they do have are efficient and friendly! They work hard to get customers in and out and make sure customers have a pleasant experience!

Been coming to Brick and Spoon for awhile now and I consider it my favorite breakfast spot. Staff is amazing and the environment is cozy and welcoming. Definitely recommend if you haven't been.

I've heard about this place for years and became more determined to try it when it opened in West Mobile. It's east to get to from Schillenger or Airport Boulevard. The shopping center is immense with plenty of parking in a well maintained parking lot. I was greeted and seated immediately. I was impressed with the modern decor but the booth I was seated must have been made for Hobbits. My legs were cramped between the table bottom and the seat cushion. Mind you I am not a large person. I wasn't sure what to expect and many of the dishes were rather pricey. However I spied a list of Benedicts that I couldn't ignore. It's my favorite breakfast item. This dish is hardly available anywhere in the area. And, unfortunately this one was disappointing. The muffin was warm but not toasted and the taste of raw flour was overwhelming. The Hollandaise was tasteless. But eggs were perfectly poached. It was also disappointing that the potatoes were frozen. For the price they should have been made fresh. The dish was beautiful but I was extremely disappointed in the taste. Service was quick, the waitress was nice, but I was never offered a refill on my coffee and the dishes were not cleaned from the table when the bill was dropped off. I might be back; but it will take some thought first. I should have gone to Cracker Barrel instead.

This was the taste of the south. It was great I would give it a 8 out of 10.

My brother graduated from South Alabama and this is where he wanted to eat. I see why he picked this place!!! Let's start with our server Nick, he was very friendly, attentive, and he gave us some complimentary beignet. The food was good we gave it 8 out of 10.

    Finally made it!

The shrimp and grits had a seafood flavor that I've never had in grits before. Perfect match to the shrimp! Service was great and fast.

    yay!

Very busy so didn't get the bestttt food/service possible, i could see this place being amazing on a slower day for sure. if you're from Mobile you don't really have much to compare it to, but still very good!

We were floored by the robust flavor of each of the homemade gravies. They have a tomato gravy, a sausage gravy, and a redeye gravy. The texture of the gravy was not too thick and none of them were greasy. We each ate a plate of homemade biscuits and in-house made gravy. Although the biscuits and gravy seem like a small serving, the dish is really an adequate meal. It was a Friday night and the music was loud, you can sit at the bar or at a table. It was several people eating in. We decided on the Wings with Cajun Nawlins fries, and the Bando Nachos. I asked for sour cream and salsa for the nachos and they didn't have any so I stopped by the store to get some. I was super excited to try the food. It was super salty. Everything was salty. I tried to move past it because I was so hungry but it completely dried my mouth out and I had to stop. I was really disappointed. He told today would be better and he would ensure it. The food was fresh, hot and tasty! We really enjoyed it! We also got some gumbo to go and it was really good! Came here Sunday May 3rd around 1pm. Was busy but not completely full where you had to wait for a table. We sat down and waited for our server to take our order. It took our server about 20 mins to come over and take our order. So we put in our food order when the server came by to take our drink order. Food took about 40 mins from when we ordered to when we got our food. I used to work in restaurants (the busiest of restaurants) and know that you should staff more, prep more, and place larger food orders in anticipation of being fully booked friday night till sunday night. I ordered gumbo. My niece got biscuits and gravy. The gumbo was pretty good except would have liked the roux a little thicker. The gravy on the biscuits was lacking in flavor. We got lucky and found one of the few non metered spots on the street. The restaurant was a bit busy when we arrived, but they where able to seat us promptly. The service was good. Our table ordered several items off the brunch/breakfast menu. I had the Seafood Eggs Benedict. For the most part this was a solid eggs benedict. However the shrimp were away overcooked and rubbery. They were a bit smallish and just not worth the time or charge. Hands down the best part about the dish was the Honey Ham. It was flavorful and there was a good bit included on the dish. In general it was fine, but not exactly worth the $18 it cost. Cubed Hashbrowns: I mixed bag. Every order at the table the Hashbrowns came out a bit different. Mine were undercooked and crunchy inside, I like them overcooked and crispy. Others at the table had them crunch and almost burnt. You can have them come with cheese and onions. I suggest this upgrade. Others at the table had: Eggs Cathedral: Needed salt. The same dry shrimp as the other dishes. Another dish that just did not seem to justify the cost. BLT Croissant: Was an ok looking sandwich, there was a good amount of bacon on the sandwich, however most of it was very well done. $15 Kids "Egg Breakfast: 1 egg, 1 Meat, 1 Toast. Looked fine. Spot of Tea was not a bad meal and there is good diversity to the Breakfast menu. However nothing the table had has was great, just mostly good. The Shrimp however were just bad. It seems that they are cooked in batches early in the day and added to dishes as needed. So I would personally avoid the "jumbo" shrimp dishes. Side note on the shrimp they are the same one that was added to the bloody marry cocktail. I think the biggest hang-up is the price to quality ratio. If you are in the area and want an eggs benedict you may want to give them a try. For me however I think there are better options to get full in the area.
