This is a pretty solid breakfast and lunch spot- very casual, laid back place with indoor and outdoor seating - the brunch menu is the only this available on the weekends, so if you like a particular item from the weekday breakfast or lunch menu, it might not be available on the weekend. We went for the first time the day after they opened. They were slammed and they provided great service, really doing a great job with the volume of people that were there. The second visit was several weeks later and the service seemed to have slipped, even with it being much less busy - they were busy, just nothing like opening weekend. The food was solid, but if you have ever read any of my reviews, you know I like food that is supposed to be hot to be hot. That just was not the case. Here's the thing. You order at the counter, and food is brought to you. Food was being prepped and then sitting with no heat source for a while in many cases - you could see when the food was ready to be picked up. I wanted to just try the biscuit, so after we were all done eating I ordered a single biscuit. It took 28 minutes, in a biscuit restaurant - one single biscuit. When it came to me (finally) there was no butter or spread on the side. I asked for both and I believe they only had one jelly option. That is also very confusing to me. Seems like you would have a variety of really cool jams and jellies. They have some interesting biscuit concepts, but when you spend $100 for 6 people to eat biscuits and 5 of them are in high school, you really need to deliver on your concept. It is a great concept and I am sure the location will execute. Hm...it's cafeteria style or just fast food. Don't expect service service. We asked for silverware and the person that brought it threw it on the table. I work in restaurants and all of it was sad and disappointing. We cleared a table to sit at. My tacos were sloppy and thrown together. The food runner told us to bring the syrup back to wherever it was. The most pleasant thing was our company (our friends and the table next to us), the worker that asked if we needed the syrup still, and the price. I don't need a reply from the company/owner. I would just like yall to do better. Let first timers know how it works in that location. The old shell location is better in my humble hungry opinion. I ate way less than I normally eat at brunch. I've dined at the one off of Old Shell & have never experienced an issue. Yesterday I tried the one in Daphne & had one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. I simply wanted a refund as I didn't pick up the order & I run a pretty busy business located about 25 minutes away. I did not have time to sacrifice 50 minutes of my way on a mistake I didn't make, so I kindly called & requested a refund. The manager was cold, rude, & short, he never apologized for the mistake or took any ownership he told me to go online to resolved my issue with the order. I followed the instructions & online it literally says "for any order issues contact the location at 251-308-6300." After no luck with that I called back to a lady who answered the phone, she was not rude but I could tell she was new & really didn't know how to assist with the issue. As she was talking to the manager (the same guy who was just rude) he kept saying he was busy & he could do nothing to help me & he didn't know why I was requesting to speak with a manager because he just told me my options. I told the lady even though he was busy I'd wait, he came to the phone & said "idk what you're wanting from me I told you you're only option is to resolve it online". I informed him I didn't use a 3rd party site like Uber or Door Dash I ordered directly from Maple St's site, I also told him I was the manager of an establishment & I didn't appreciate the way he was handling my request as I am simply trying to resolve an issue Maple St's made not me. He hung up in my face. I was never rude, never used profanity, nor was I disrespectful, but the manager was completely unprofessional & I could not believe someone had the audacity to hang up in my face while I was trying to correct an error they made. I've left a Google Review as well & they've deleted it from being posted. We order our food, the lady working at the front says they are out of avocado but doesn't offer to substitute it for anything and still charges for the whole thing. Our food comes out, they bring us a few pieces of potato's instead of the shareable tator tots that we ordered and paid for and tell us that they ran out, our biscuits had just a tiny bit of gravy on it and the bread was so dry. They tell us they ran out of gravy too. We ended up paying for a $30 meal that we didn't even end up eating it and left starving. Food was excellent. Out of our 3 orders they missed putting a couple things on two of them. One sandwich without the egg and the other came without the bacon but they fixed that for us pretty quick. There was a bit of a wait for the food to come out but there were a lot people in there. It's new so it seems there are still a lot of kinks they need to work out. I think once they've been open a while they'll hopefully be more streamlined. I'd come here again to eat. Everything was delicious and the staff was very nice and helpful. read more

Every table is covered in food or sticky syrup residue, so prepare to clean up that last patrons mess before you eat. The atmosphere is bland, no background music so you can hear the cooks cooking and every other conversation in The building. The food comes out ice cold, the potatoes come from a frozen bag or they're made a week before you order them, you decide. love biscuits and gravy? you can get them here with old and ice cold gravy poured on top, had to send all of the food back for them to microwave it 2 times. anyways food comes out super quick since they don't have to warm it up or cook it when you order it, so that's a plus. read more

We sat outside and waited for our order for about an hour, with many employees walking by, we finally asked about our lemonade in which she said it would come out. After the hour, the food and lemonade still had not come out yet so we went back inside to ask about our order. Turns out something happened with their system and our order didn't go through. Management was nice and offered a refund and to have our order out ASAP. It came out quickly after that, but still without the lemonade, so we asked for it again and we ended up leaving the restaurant without a lemonade. Took a seat and watched several tables of folks who ordered after us not only receive, but finish their meals. The cashier was the highlight. She was really nice and explained the menu items well. The biscuits are okay, but way overpriced. $35 for two people with drinks getting 2 biscuits. These aren't some unusually huge biscuit with a plate full of stuff. Think more Pillsbury frozen 3" round biscuit with items between the top and bottom. When we tried to order the cinnamon iced biscuits, we were told they were complimentary if we were dining in, which we were. I still don't know how you get those since they were never offered by the 10 employees wondering around between tables. They were out of one of the soft drinks so we let them know thinking they would change the syrup. About 10 minutes later a different employee said they saw us trying to get that and they're out. Yeah thanks for that. To top it off, I was refilling my drink before I left. An employee about four tables down that was clearing a table stood and stared at me with 2 trays until I moved like I was in the way. There were about 4 other paths to where they were going and only the one where the drinks were was blocked. It wasn't a major thing, but it made me feel like I was in the way to the point I had to completely move from the drinks to let them by and then start refilling again. It was just odd. Do yourself a favor and pass. There are other better places. Chick-fil-a has a better chicken biscuit. The menu for all of the biscuits is huge. The staff is friendly and engaging to help with choices from the menu. Our order came with a complimentary little cinnamon biscuit for each of us to try. The indoor area was bright and roomy. There was even an outdoor dining area. They have breakfast and lunch biscuits with a wide variety of coffees and other drinks. I was so excited that this place was opening up. They were under construction for what seemed like nearly a year, but so happy when they finally opened. I gave it about a month before going in to give it a fair review (I wanted them to iron out grand opening kinks). Unfortunately I will not be going back. I dashed in to order lunch for two and there was only one couple sitting at a table, one single girl sitting at another table, and one table with food debris (plate/cup/napkins) sitting on it that had not been cleaned off yet from a previous patron. I placed a simple 2-sandwiches to go order and waited over 25 minutes to get it!!!! I looked to see what everyone was doing in the kitchen. They were all very busy, not sure what they were doing...maybe advance food prep? Putting away stock? Mopping, cleaning prep counters etc all while I paced back and forth to see if I could view someone making my order. I finally spoke up and said "excuse me but did you put in my order? I've been here (at the time) for :15 minutes," and the counter girl said "yes ma'am they're getting it ready right now." That turned into another 10 minutes of waiting. During that time, the couple sitting in there finished their meal but left their food trays and cups on the table (the other table that had not been bussed was still not bussed). And eventually the single girl eating lunch slowly got up and threw her tray items away, then just seemed to mosey-around looking for something to do. It turned out that SHE WAS AN EMPLOYEE ON HER LUNCH BREAK. I watched her every step, was she going to bus the tables or what??? She eventually shuffled over to one table, reached down and slowly pushed a trey a few inches to the right, then picked up a paper cut and put it bac down and shuffled away. She SLOWLY shuffled back in with a plastic tub to put the items in and SLOWLY, one at a time, meekly picked up an item and dropped it in the tub. This went on forever, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. She had ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD to do something she DIDNT want to do. She SLOWLY waked the handful of items she picked up (which she didn't need a tub for) and took them back to the trash, but didn't touch the original table that had debris on it. She just was making busy work for herself in the back, pushing something to the left, then something else to the right, as is she was decorating. I wanted to scream ARE YOU GONNA PUTZ AROUND ALL DAY? I should have asked for the manager because I'd want them to see this pathetic employee! And, I counted all the employees in that place on that day. Wait for it: there were NINE (1) people including the shuffler, NINE! With no other patrons in there it still took nearly 30 minutes for me to get my order. Which BTW was not worth it. Sandwiches are very tiny, about 3-inches square. Neither were hot, one turkey, one pimento cheese, and not tasty. Very bland. I will NEVER go back. Don't waste your time folks. I'm so sorry it isn't great, because we need more restaurants in this area of Daphne. We're a family community, why can't we get tried and true favorites like IHOP? I'm from Houston where you have kind of fabulous food to choose from on every corner, but sometimes you just want something simple. Dad wants meatloaf, mom wants an omelet, kids want chicken fingers. The food was good. The service was excellent. It was a little pricey. But something happened. We used to go to Maple Street biscuit when we lived in Jacksonville, Florida. The menu was a lot different and more creative choices on the menu that hung on the wall as you came in it seems like the choices and options have been cut way down. And we used to love when they made up the different names to call you when your order was ready now they just give you a number. my mother and I tried the Daphne location today. I had already checked the menu online and knew what I was going to order, however apparently they pull the breakfast items at a certain time so I had to order from the lunch menu. I opted for the chicken and waffles. The chicken was great the waffles ok. The special butter for waffles was very good. We tried the fried green tomatoes - they are VERY thick but crisp. ( The best fried green tomatoes to me Are at Kravers in Daphne. I was surprised that biscuits were not on the menu - after all Biscuit is in the title of your company . I asked about it and they said yes I could order them. They are good but not $3 worth for a plain biscuit - Fast-times in Daphne have the BEST chicken biscuits for the same price. I was pleasantly surprised with the complimentary cinnamon biscuits. I had ordered lemonade - and there was only one other customer while we were there. After a while I had to go up to the counter to ask about our drinks. The employee was holding them talking to another employee. - The employees were very friendly and I will go back to try the breakfast items I had wanted in the first place.
