First time trying, to go order. Nice little place, dive bar/ restaurant feel. Parking behind and across the street. (Be careful crossing the street- some people don't slow down for ya ). The hostess and bartender were friendly. Order 2 of the now famous Butcher burger, (you can choose the temp on your burger here ) fries and onion rings as sides. Burgers were rather large, cooked exactly as ordered and well seasoned. Comes with a poppyseed bun, bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, onions, pickles, and tomato. Fries are more like seasoned potato wedges, very tasty. The onion rings are batter dipped then fried, to me they had an unusual flavor leaving a bitter taste in my mouth. Parking here can be a bit tricky with a few spots out front and a few in the back. If you drive to the back and there aren't any spots, you will have to back out the alley or try and three point turn to go back out. Service here is great and attentive and we're always sat quickly. Great afternoon lunch. Service was point on starting with chili as an appetizer and a glass of unsweetened tea. For my meal went for the Famous Butch Burger with onion rings. I must give the onion rings a high score, coating and texture perhaps best I've ever had anywhere!!! The FBB was more than I could eat. Ended up taking 1/2 home for later tonight. I ordered medium well burgers and the burgers were burnt to a crisp. I called to complain and spoke with Ellie and she said I should bring the meals back per managers orders. It appears she thought I wanted free meals, however I didn't, I just wanted the cooks to be aware of the situation. I was told the manager wasn't in. This visit was really disappointing. Our server did not smile once, so we didn't feel welcome. I ordered the Pollo Nachos with a side order of sour cream. I got a pile of semi-soggy chips with cold melted cheese, half a bag of shredded lettuce, five jalapeño slices, hardly any chicken at all, a ramekin of salsa, and a packet of sour cream on the side. All of this was piled on a regular plate, not over a platter, so with every chip removed toppings were toppling to the tabletop. I basically ate a salad today, with unappealing chips, and an occasional bit of salsa and sour cream as the "dressing." Husband and BIL ordered burgers, and they looked decent. We never got refills on drinks, though, and our server held onto a card for about 20 min before getting it/the receipts back. This visit was a 180° compared to visits in years past. We were last here about 7 years ago, but I never would've guessed that the service had fallen like this. If I could make two recommendations, it would be 1) training with servers about customer service, and 2) thinking through the process of plating dishes and making sure they come out hot. Again, my melted cheese was cold (so cold globs of cheese were pulled away and eaten with a fork), and the burgers were not hot. The restaurant is very "divey" reminds me of the Bigger Jigger from mama's family LOL. Old, grungy and dusty looking but most places with that kind of atmosphere have delicious food. Our waitress JoJo was very friendly and talkative. She told us that they were cleaning the grill and it would be about an hour wait for a well done burger. YIKES!! I ordered the famous Butch burger and fries. We ordered fried green tomatoes as the appetizer and they were delicious. Fried crispy and golden to perfection it came with ranch but JoJo offered to bring us some prairie sauce. It was good but tasted just like it was foo sauce from Foosackly's LOL!!! Finally my burger came it was yummy with all the fixings. I wouldn't call the it famous but it's definitely made with a good grade of beef.
