This was my first visit to the RedBar and it is at the new location closer to my house down Old Shell Rd- I had a London fog tea and banana crumpet. This was the first time I indulged in a crumpet and it is like a pancake and piecrust mixed together. Clay wanted something filling - so he had one of the red bar burgers yes you can get a burger early in the morning it was delicious homemade thin dill pickles. Real nice atmosphere and a fun place outside with ping-pong tables and a fire pit. Close to the University of South Alabama campus- we will be back!

We walked in and you order at the counter and they bring your food and drinks to the table. There is outside seating and also a bar. We had an omelet and Clarissa which is a breakfast sandwich on French bread. There was a small piece of very good chocolate served with our coffee. The coffee was very strong and a bit bitter, but the food was excellent. The potatoes were very good also.

This is such a cute place. The ladies taking our order were super sweet and helpful. I had a pour over and the fried egg and cheese crumpet with potatoes. It was really good! My sister had the eggs in a basket and sourdough bread. She loved it! The restaurant is very kid friendly and has a old diner vibe. They also have an intriguing bar menu for the evening. We need to come back and try it out!

Great friendly staff today for our first ever visit. Very nice place and the coffees were great. Breakfast was great and hot and fresh but took a long time to get out to us.

Veggie omelet, sweet potato and OJ

I had a veggie omelet and sweet potato side. Omelet was just right and sweet potato savory! The staff was welcoming. Would recommend for. Pre-flight meal or anytime!

Very nice staff! Food and drink was good! Ambiance is nice! The wifi is free and has good speed! Overall a great place for coffee and studying. I came during breakfast/lunch hours.

Build a Smashburger with toast & jelly. 10/10.

Camera didn't get to eat first around the whole table but the pictures speak volumes! As soon as we walked in, we saw the bar, opened seating and a corner lounge with two love seats. It wasn't crowded. The music was enjoyable and not too loud. Our food was all around amazing. Definitely had a long wait but we had a pitcher of mimosas and it allowed us time to enjoy them as we waited for the food. All my pictures posted have captions of what we ordered. We will be coming back to try more of the menu! I'd recommend them 10/10.

How haven't I reviewed yet?! I just love Redbar! Such a cute surprise tucked away in WeMo! The lattes are divine. Caramel is my fave and the breve is excellent also! Hubby is hooked on their Mocha. Better still, the food options are on point! When I can get great food and coffee in one fell swoop, I'm all in! The loaded omelette sandwich (on that buttery croissant, y'all) is so freakin' good! The crumpet is not to be missed either. Check Redbar out ASAP!

She brought full two biscuits, sliced with gravy and two eggs on top. We said that wasn't what we ordered. Just wanted one egg on the side. She kept saying the eggs are free. "but the eggs are free!" Whatever. We asked for two Carryout boxes to take the extra food. When she brought the bill she just kept standing there waiting then said "I'll take this." Like we weren't supposed to sit there and finish our food and coffee. So I gave her my card. She came back and presented two printouts. Customer copy said "paid in full." I asked if she had already charged my card she answered yes. I asked why I still had a merchant copy to put tip and add if up if she'd already charged me. She said it's ok I'll just add the tip in on the charge. After she had already run my card?!? How does that work? Do I get an additional copy to check what she charged? "No!" It was very confusing and stupid me, when she said they have to do it that way I just picked up my receipt and left. Should have made her rerun it. And, breakfast for two was $44!!! Will NOT be going back.

Our server came over and asked what we wanted to drink and immediately wanted to take our order. We asked for a minute or two. Waters came and she disappeared for over 8 minutes. A table of six, appeared to be construction workers, were sat by us. Our server immediately attended to them and we had to wave her back to us. She got their waters and coffee and then came to take our order. We ordered the crawfish omelette which was a seasonal special on the small addendum menu. She curtly advised us it was "out", "we don't have anymore." At that point we were DONE and left. Therefore we cannot critique the food. I was in the food service industry running a catering company for 10 years. If a SPECIAL is out at 8:30 am I believe it is the servers job to let the customer know before they pour over the menu to make a choice. At that point we had our minds made up for the crawfish omelette and didn't want to start over in our selection. I know this is a very popular spot in Mobile and we were disappointed we didn't get to try the food. However, our servers demeanor didn't make us feel welcome and want to stay.

It was a Friday night and the music was loud, you can sit at the bar or at a table. It was several people eating in. We decided on the Wings with Cajun Nawlins fries, and the Bando Nachos. The Bando has a full menu and bar. The service was great and it wasnt a long wait for the food. I asked for sour cream and salsa for the nachos and they didn't have any so I stopped by the store to get some. I was super excited to try the food. It was super salty. Everything was salty. I tried to move past it because I was so hungry but it completely dried my mouth out and I had to stop. I was really disappointed. Experience 2: 4* We had to go back and give it another try before I left and I'm so glad we did! We had brunch. I had the Chicken and Strawberry Crack Waffle and my friend had the Lamb Chops, Shrimp and Grits. Everything was so good! Big A came to greet us and we told him about our food a few nights before and he explained that the meat is marinated and they probably seasoned it again. He was very apologetic. He told today would be better and he would ensure it. The food was fresh, hot and tasty! We really enjoyed it! We also got some gumbo to go and it was really good! I would definitely return if I was in the area!

Came here Sunday May 3rd around 1pm. Was busy but not completely full where you had to wait for a table. We sat down and waited for our server to take our order. It took our server about 20 mins to come over and take our order. So we put in our food order when the server came by to take our drink order. Food took about 40 mins from when we ordered to when we got our food. I used to work in restaurants (the busiest of restaurants) and know that you should staff more, prep more, and place larger food orders in anticipation of being fully booked friday night till sunday night. I ordered gumbo. My niece got biscuits and gravy. The gumbo was pretty good except would have liked the roux a little thicker. The gravy on the biscuits was lacking in flavor. I love diners and love supporting locally owned businesses. Maybe some staff called off this particular day because the service was slow. But I wil be back.

We got lucky and found one of the few non metered spots on the street. The restaurant was a bit busy when we arrived, but they where able to seat us promptly. The service was good. Our table ordered several items off the brunch/breakfast menu. I had the Seafood Eggs Benedict. For the most part this was a solid eggs benedict. However the shrimp were away overcooked and rubbery. They were a bit smallish and just not worth the time or charge. Hands down the best part about the dish was the Honey Ham. It was flavorful and there was a good bit included on the dish. In general it was fine, but not exactly worth the $18 it cost. Cubed Hashbrowns: I mixed bag. Every order at the table the Hashbrowns came out a bit different. Mine were undercooked and crunchy inside, I like them overcooked and crispy. Others at the table had them crunch and almost burnt. You can have them come with cheese and onions. I suggest this upgrade. Others at the table had: Eggs Cathedral: Needed salt. The same dry shrimp as the other dishes. Another dish that just did not seem to justify the cost. BLT Croissant: Was an ok looking sandwich, there was a good amount of bacon on the sandwich, however most of it was very well done. $15 Kids "Egg Breakfast: 1 egg, 1 Meat, 1 Toast. Looked fine. Spot of Tea was not a bad meal and there is good diversity to the Breakfast menu. However nothing the table had has was great, just mostly good. The Shrimp however were just bad. It seems that they are cooked in batches early in the day and added to dishes as needed. So I would personally avoid the "jumbo" shrimp dishes. Side note on the shrimp they are the same one that was added to the bloody marry cocktail. I think the biggest hang-up is the price to quality ratio. If you are in the area and want an eggs benedict you may want to give them a try. For me however I think there are better options to get full in the area.
