Always had a pleasant visit to Soul Caffeine on Semmes Avenue in Mobile, and the service was friendly and welcoming. Haven't been in for a while, but was shocked by the change in atmosphere this morning: Sunday, November 16. Service behind the counter was abrupt as if they were doing me a favor taking my order. Almost bordered on rude. After spending 15 minutes trying to connect to Wi-Fi, I finally asked and was told it had been out for a few days. Great! Put a sign up that says so and stop wasting people's time. Never going back. There are other coffee shops. read more

I love it here. This is one of my new favorite coffee places . The people were so friendly. The coffee was delicious and I was able to get some work done on my tablet. No one bothered me. We had conversation that was polite. I thoroughly enjoyed myself if you have a chance and you are a coffee lover, like myself, I would highly suggest you go. Have been going to the Daphne for years, so we were excited when this one opened this week in Midtown. The coffee is as solid as always. And man, were we stoked to hear they were adding a food menu! I want them to do well, so I'm not going to completely flame them and it's their first week, so there's that. But this is a shout out to the owners to PLEASE up the food game. I'm not sure if you've actually eaten one of the "frittatas" or bagel sandwiches, but please do. It is severely in need of an actual cook. it doesn't have to be mega fancy, but paper-thin precooked bacon and microwaved/tabletop-cooker eggs are dorm-level. In the meantime we will stick to the coffee and muffins, as those are as good as ever, and hope they turn it around with the food! read more

This is a very quaint coffee shop in a nice quiet neighborhood. The staff was very friendly and it was very clean. They had a really fun menu for drinks breakfast and lunch. We tried the coffee lovers Belgium waffle which was delightful. It was not too sweet but very flavorful. Would definitely get that again. This was the most creative and fun item we got. The BLT salad was fresh and a good portion and delicious. The panini sandwich was excellent as well. We did not try the coffee. I suggest going out of your way for this fun shop. read more

Stopped by here for lunch and I am impressed! I ordered the local latte, the Finer Things Club Sandwich, and a cup of the soup of the day which was some sort of tomato/roasted red pepper. First, the price was great! My entire order, plus a tip, was under $20 and I was full afterward. The latte was very good too (though could have been a little hotter). The taste and quality of the food was good, especially the soup! If you are someone who likes a lot of crispy bacon on their club sandwich you may be a little disappointed though, the bacon was thin and not crispy. However, the bread was crisp and the turkey, tomato and sauce was plentiful on the sandwich. Finally the atmosphere was lacking just a bit. Perhaps a little more light or some soft music in the background would help liven the place up. read more
