Stopped here when couldn't decide what I was in the mood for and was not disappointed! The atmosphere is small local pubbish, and service good. Feeling like something healthier, ordered a seared tuna wrap. Not into raw fish so not sure what I was thinking. This completely changed my mind. The combination of the tuna and aioli was phenomenal. Had the grilled cheese with bacon on Texas toast. Tasty and successful. Smoked tuna dip pretty good. I usually like some scallion parsley etc but for a simple style of dip this was good. The Cuban was a major disappointment. It appeared about 2 minutes after ordering. Bread was incredibly tough. Very similar to the texture of microwaved bread. Didn't have that great crispy buttery toasted texture. Really skimpy on the Swiss cheese as well. Liked the spicy bread and butter pickle, but more than 1 would have been appreciated. Seemed like no mustard on the sandwich but the server was swift with the request for some. Otherwise the martini was okay, ghost in the machine was great and the wine served promptly. read more

I stopped by Nixon's with a group for drinks and Rock-n-Roll bingo-- for the WIN! I really enjoyed it! The staff was great (fast with drink orders and attentive). In lieu of beer (actually cider in my case) I ordered Moscow Mules and to my surprise, they weren't bad at all! Nixon's gives off friendly, neighborhood bar vibes and the service and aesthetic matches that perfectly! Rock-n-Roll bingo was also a whole blast! I'm talking a signing aloud and off key, whopper of a good time! All in all, Nixon's rocks and I'll be back for more! read more

We visited Nixons last time we were in Mobile, as my sister-in-law lives close by. It has a super cool neighborhood vibe, and is decorated with old advertisements which were fun to look at. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the beer selection was good. This is definitely a place I could see myself becoming a regular at if I lived in the area, and I'm looking forward to returning next time we're in Mobile! read more

Nice pub-grub type menu items, the big drawback is having a decent sized craft beer list but it's loaded with IPA's and not much else to choose from in other more palatable styles. read more

The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because it was definitely clear to see who Nixon caters too. I understand they serve everyone yeah everyone does that but it's easy to see their target audience and who they prefer to frequent their establishment. The Cuban Sandwich was okay however, bread could've pressed better to prevent soggy. But overall it wasn't a bad restaurant. And I'd recommend it to center people read more

We've wanted to go to Nixon's since they opened. When they first opened, we heard some not so good reviews about the food. But, tonight, we had a date night and decided to give them a try. We sat at the bar and Elizabeth waited on us. She was wonderful. We had a couple of cocktails and good conversation with her and some other customers at the bar. We ordered food -- shrimp and grits and the New Yorker (I think that's what it was called) sandwich. Both were fabulous! The chef came out and asked if the food was okay. What a great night! Cool building with good menu! My kids loved the games in the back room (pool and another one that I don't know the name of haha) But I got the chicken Caesar wrap with green beans- it was good! My husband got the pulled pork sandwich and potato salad. He raved about it and said it was the best pulled pork he had ever eaten!! The kids split a giant bowl of Mac and cheese and didn't complain! The waitress gave them a piece of candy after we ate- so sweet. Nixon's is a great addition to midtown! read more

This is a wonderful neighborhood bar that is family-friendly. Great bartenders mix up some nice cocktails. This is also a great place to catch the Saints game, or come in on Sunday evenings to play rock 'n' roll bingo. The Cuban sandwich is on point! If you'd like to bring your pup, feel free to sit outside and they will bring a special water dish. On Tuesday nights they have a running group that meets there, the Nixon's drugrunners. Running group starts at 6 PM for a 3 mile run through a gorgeous historic neighborhood. read more
