Mama fried chicken is the best. Squash Casserole, candied yams & cabbage with cornbread.

Downtown Mobile at its finest!! Food is amazing, portions were good. Service was fantastic and the prices were decent. Being downtown opens up possibilities to walk & shop. Dinning area was old school and friendly.

I was looking for a quick bite to eat, close to the Hilton Garden Inn. Yelp turned up Mama's as being a highly rated spot, just around the corner and it did not disappoint. Even though it was Monday, I decided to skip the red beans and rice and go directly to a fried shrimp po' boy - great decision! The bread was as good as any I've had in New Orleans and the mounds of shrimp they piled on it were deliciously crispy. Can't wait to get back there on my next trip to Mobile!

My coworkers hyped this place up for sure so I was optimistic coming from out of town. I'm a huge foodie and love trying things I can't get back home. I got the fried green tomato sandwich and the first thing I saw was a hair out of my sandwich.... I showed my waitress and she didn't even say a word to me and just took it to the back. It was remade and hot and again the waitress said nothing to me and just dropped it off. The only reason I'm not giving one star was the food was good! The sandwich was amazing but our waitress was just overall rude, I felt like I was being a burden that there was hair in my sandwich so that ruined my first and overall experience.

Man this place is good! It's seriously the taste of the gulf that you can't get anywhere else. The food is fresh and hot! I got a shrimp poboy with sweet tea and WOW the shrimp was amazing. Lightly breaded, perfectly seasoned, and the shrimp were succulent little morsels. The sweet tea had a great flavor too! I'm coming back tomorrow to try something else on the menu!

Great service! Very kind and helpful and patient. Good variety of food on the menu. I like the decor is well done. I ordered the butter beans, black eyed peas, cabbage, cucumber tomato salad. It was all good. The black eyed peas were probably my favorite. My wife ordered the fried green tomato BLT. She liked it. She deconstructed it and asked for more of the sauce on it which she said was really good. She also had the collard greens which she said was good.

Pretty good food for the price. Very quick and nice staff too! I will definitely be back next time I'm in town.

Service was great our waitress was very nice and helpful when ordering. As we had lots of questions on the menu. Was disappointed we couldn't order the crawfish as they where out. I ordered the shrimp po boy and I wasn't a huge fan. It didn't have much flavor or sauce so it was a little dry. My friend had the fried green tomato blt and that was the most delicious menu choice at our table. The ambience was so cute inside.

    Interior, beautiful murals.

The banana pudding is unbelievably delicious! They fold whipped cream into the pudding to make it light and scrumptious!

No bad review Main course short ribs frites W/ au poivre EXCELLENT !!! Only regret no green peppercorns in the sauce (maybe due to farm to table requirements) Great food. Best lunch in Mobile as of today ! Service was good. However one of our entrees served 5 minutes after everyone else. Definitely recommend this place. One more thing: The pomes frites ABSOLUTELY THE BEST FRIES I HAVE EVER EATEN: BELGIUM HAS NOTHING ON THESE FRIES. I am 75 years old and been all over Europe. This is the birthplace of American Fries. THIS PLACE DESERVES TABLECLOTHS BTW: wood table sticky and did not feel clean due to finish on the table.

The sweet tea is the best we've ever had. The pickled shrimp is a classic 'Bama recipe. The Waygu double cheese burger will haunt my dreams with its juicy goodness. The steak & frites were very good. Tender with a sauce that was lush on the tongue. We were too full for dessert, but the blueberry cobbler looked amazing. I arrived at my hotel, I was tired, and just wanted a bite that wasn't a. fast food or b. catered to tourists. Debris delivered and then some. First, it's my type of place: dive bar with tables. Not all over-decorated. The moment you walk in, you feel like you're in a local tavern. No one was at the door but they saw me and just let me take a seat. The menu came over, the table was a little sticky, and they came and wiped it even though I said not to bother, I'm fine. The menu: Drinks are a bit limited. Good selection of bottles, rather limited on tap, but I found a good brew. And for food, you can't go wrong. Obviously, with the name, I chose a Po Boy - the standard Debris with the beef and au jus. I wish I could give more than 5 stars for that elegantly massive hulk. Dripping in its jus, which I still sopped up off my plate. Oh, I could easily eat a second one of those no matter how full I am. Sinfully good. I wish my conference didn't feed me so much, or I would have come back here every night. I did my best to recommend it to everyone else who was looking for lunch or dinner. And I am 100% recommending it to you.
