Delicious breakfast at Bistro Saint Emanuel is an absolute delight. Tucked into historic Fort Condé…read moreInn Village, the space is filled with charm. Dark wood interiors, cobblestone streets right outside, and big windows that flood the room with natural light create the perfect backdrop for a relaxed and elegant meal. The food is outstanding. Classic New Orleans inspired flavors meet Gulf Coast freshness. The crab-topped benedict with silky hollandaise is rich and satisfying, and the crispy potatoes are cooked to perfection. Paired with fresh coffee and warm service, it is a brunch that feels special from the first sip to the last bite. Service was excellent also! If you are looking for a place in Mobile that blends history, charm, and unforgettable food, Bistro Saint Emanuel is a must. #EatSipTravel

I'll give this place 3 stars, but with a couple of 1 star comments. We took our Mom here for her…read more92nd birthday, had a reservation. Really nice atmosphere, we were greeted when we walked in, our server was fantastic. We all loved the food, and really enjoyed the place. At one point somebody came out, I'm guessing the manager or owner, asked how we were doing, and said if we needed anything at all, please let him know. My sister-in-law said "thank you, actually I'd really love a small amount of grits... like a couple of tablespoons on the side".. this guy replies he could only do a bowl and that's $4.00... ok, I can get you anything means anything but a shot glass worth of grits. He then repeats "if you need anything, please let me know." Got it. After we finished, our server announces that they'd like to offer Mom a complimentary desert and offers 3 choices. She enthusiastically chooses the chocolate cake. A few minutes later he reappears and says they're telling him the only option for a birthday desert is bread pudding. Seriously, they can't afford to give up a slice of cake? I was going to pay for it but at that point we'd decided it was time to move on. I'm sure they have their reasons for all of it, and I'm sure there will be a reply here from the owner, but it's all B.S. I stand by the 5 stars for the server, the atmosphere, and food. The 3 stars covers whoever came out with the phony "I really give a shit" attitude. They need to keep him in the back room.

Man I love diners and I am so easy to please. I don't complain about really anything in life (just…read moreask my family and friends) but sometimes I have to nitpick when I see something that could use some improvement. Came here Sunday May 3rd around 1pm. Was busy but not completely full where you had to wait for a table. We sat down and waited for our server to take our order. It took our server about 20 mins to come over and take our order. So we put in our food order when the server came by to take our drink order. Food took about 40 mins from when we ordered to when we got our food. I used to work in restaurants (the busiest of restaurants) and know that you should staff more, prep more, and place larger food orders in anticipation of being fully booked friday night till sunday night. I ordered gumbo. My niece got biscuits and gravy. The gumbo was pretty good except would have liked the roux a little thicker. The gravy on the biscuits was lacking in flavor. I love diners and love supporting locally owned businesses. Maybe some staff called off this particular day because the service was slow. But I wil be back.

Menu is standard greasy spoon diner fare, but executed perfectly with good portions big enough to fill but not so big as to stuff one like a turkey. I very much enjoyed my Corned Beef Hash, but salivated over the beautiful Biscuits and Gravy that others ordered. Service was quick and friendly without hovering or sucking up. Clearly a lot of regular customers--people walking up were welcomed by first names by the waitresses. I'll definitely be back.
