Catfish, fried shrimp, french fries, roll, green beans, red beans n rice.
Nathan M.

Holy wow - talk about being surprised! We stopped here on a whim and tried several things. This is one of those joints where apparently no matter what you order, it's gonna be top tier. Literally down to the roll, it was some of the best food I've ever had in my life. I was just not expecting that walking in. From what we ordered, the catfish and red beans n rice were my favorites. It's a little pricey, and there are only a few tables but besides that, 10/10. Absolutely blew me away. Thanks guys!

We're not from the area but wanted something local.... Found this on Yelp and decided to give it a try. On the way into town we passed all these fish houses with tons of cars out front and began to wonder if I had errored. But we powered on and as we pulled up we found just this little shack place. But as we walked up we quickly realized this is exactly what we wanted. Local feel of a family run place, friendly decor with no pretense.... Only to be followed by great food. I had the seafood gumbo, son shrimp poor boy, wife had rice and beans with a side of hush puppies. Roles were light and fluffy... super satisfied. I did get the slaw, and I would not get that again, couple be a local tast thing. But everything else was spot on. Lady next to us had the burger and she was also super happy. So my recommendation is to give these guys a go... it's the type of places I like to support.

Menu

Service was great; kind, courteous, knowledgeable. The food is fantastic! West Bank Catfish, the catfish was well-seasoned and hot, right out of the fryer, perfectly crispy and flaky. Not greasy at all. The étouffée over the catfish and rice was very tasty. Also, sampled the Jambalaya. It was good, flavorful and full of meat. Last but not least, the White Chocolate Bread Pudding. OMG! If too full, bring some home for later!

IF YOU LIKE SEAFOOD, YOU HAVE TO GO HERE!!! This review is…read moreto update a review I made last October. We stopped by on my wife's birthday and the store was closed and I left a review reflecting our disappointment. I now stand in shame for leaving my previous review of this establishment. As soon as we walked in, the smell of fresh boiled crawfish filled the air. There was piles of fresh boiled crawfish spread across the top of the left side. The owner immediately overwhelmed us with true southern charm and hospitality!! Before I had an opportunity to open my mouth and insert foot, He offered me a sample of shrimp jambalaya. It was My CROW to BEAR for the previous review!! It was delicious!! By the way, I have not ever been a fan of jambalaya. I bought a pint and ate all of it. I will buy it again!! First time I ever bought jambalaya. Get my point??!! We spent $100 for dinner for 2. We got crab legs, potatoes, crab cakes, red shrimp, JAMBALAYA, and some of the best damn cocktail sauce ever. We ate everything. Thanks guys for putting me in my place. We will definitely be back to visit!! Chris Johnson Sorry, can't get pics to load. Trust me it is delicious!!

I didn't have time to drive all over Baldwin County searching for Royal Reds, my shrimp of choice. So I tried Lartigue's in The Pig. The salesperson showed me what they had in stock, red shrimp that were firmer than the Royal Reds, but just as sweet. Everything was just as he said and my guests were impressed with the Gulf Shrimp.

This was the best meal of the whole trip. I ordered the Grilled Swordfish and it was absolutely outstanding, perfectly cooked, flavorful, and memorable. My wife, who doesn't even eat seafood, and loved it. That alone says a lot about the quality of the kitchen. We also enjoyed the cocktails: I had the Woodward Old Fashioned and she had the Fairhope Fizz. Both were excellent and well-made. Everything, from the food to the overall experience, felt thoughtful and high-quality without being stuffy. Service by Ali was also very good and quite attentive. If you're in the Fairhope area, don't skip Pearl. It's easily one of the best meals we've had in a long time.

Very friendly people here. Our view was the kitchen, they seem to accomplish quite a alot for the kitchen size. I started out with gumbo, very interesting mix of contents, sausage, shrimp, short rib (menu says chicken), a dark roux and a scoop of potato salad in the middle, very tasty and different. Next she had the pork chop with peach and bacon chutney over pimento cheese grits. The Pork chop was perfect. The chutney, one bite was very heavy on the vinegar. I had the fried chicken tasso gravy, hot honey, marinated sweet potato. This was an exceptional dish and was full when I finished. It was a good experience. Given it was a Friday night at 6ish. It was very loud and vibrant tonight. We will be back.
