This place is a hidden gem a little bit out-of-the-way but well worth it. Lunch buffet only is amazing. Marvin and Christina were truly amazing. I've been in town for one week and I've eaten here twice and I can't wait to go back again very inexpensive and worthwhile.

    Mac and cheese.

Great country cooking! Clean and a nice atmosphere Very nice fast service. Soup, salad and a full buffet. Yummy. .

Stopped in here after a nice ride on the eastern shore bike trail. The restaurant is just over the bridge on the left side at the end of the trail. It's a little dive building but ignore that and come on in! Classic southern food served as an all you can eat buffet. Great pot roast, pulled pork, beans, and a variety of desserts. Something for every palate. Food was freshly prepared and tasty.

I've heard and seen conflicting reviews about this place so I recently chose it as a place for a one-off meeting of our Friends and Neighbors get together. There were 12 of us in total and the staff and management were very accommodating, they setup and reserved a space for us and the overall service was good. Now this is strictly a buffet so service is keeping drinks filled, condiments, etc. But the point, as usual, is the food, and those reviews I mentioned didn't really inform me for what I might expect, so that's my mission. The daily special dishes, at the buffet, vary and this day it was spaghetti, sometimes catfish, fried chicken, pork, chops, etc. They apparently offer a soup of the day, but on my visit we arrived at noon and they were out of soup, only one hour after opening, so not a good start. The salad is very basic with iceberg lettuce with addons of diced tomatoes, onions, pepper rings and four dressings. The buffet included pulled pork, pulled roasted beef, meatloaf, spaghetti with meat sauce, collard greens, butter beans, corn, boiled cabbage, mac n cheese, green beans, corn bread and bread pudding. There was also a chicken dish wihich was shredded chicken in a casserole style with cheese, which was everyone's favorite, and for some the only highlight. I tried a taste of everything and it was quite underwhelming at best. Other than the chicken dish everything was very bland and the only thing that gave flavor to the pork and the beef was a lot of barbecue sauce. Since I don't use table salt there wasn't any options for trying to make the food more palatable, so indeed basically it was all underwhelming. There is a carousel with desserts, just pies today, but they ran out of coconut cream before I could try it and the homemade buttermilk pie was outstanding. The atmosphere here is clean but a little cramped and I understand had its origins as a biker bar, however they've done a good job at making it comfy, homey and distinctly country. Bottom line: If you like your food unseasoned, and basically bland, then this "home cooking" buffet might work for you. I can open a can of something and achieve the same thing at my own home, so I'm glad I gave them a shot but not my cup of tea.

    Simple delicious lunch!

I'm a tourist but I think this place should have one $ sign especially for what you get. Really nice job remodeling. Friendly women who seem to really want to run a nice family place. I loved the food, atmosphere and the women who worked there! I was told I had to try these fish houses between mobile and Fairhope,I thought this place was better. No fish but overall much higher percent of food made in house!

Good country cooking like mama used to make!!! The cornbread is even made in a cast iron skillet.

As former certified Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) certified judges, my husband and I completed the training and paid the fees to be certified. The "KCBS way" is different from a lot of people's preferences in that, for example, a BBQ rib should actually have some "pull" to it, meaning, when you bite into it, your mouth should leave a mark in the rib. This means "fall off the bones" ribs are not KDBS quality, despite how many love that rib consistency. The KCBS judges slots fill up so quickly and required us to travel at our own cost and we did not judge any KCBS events. Back to Southern food. Deep fried double Oreos are one of the many fried foods here in Huntsville, and Melt restaurant features them on their menu. Meat-and-Three restaurants feature a meat (usually fried pork chop, meatloaf, BBQ, fried catfish, country fried steak/chicken) and three sides (fried okra, creamed corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, baked potato, potato salad, cole slaw, French fries) and bread options such as cornbread, rolls, hush puppies. While Southern Cooking is absolutely delicious, I have to limit it because lets face it, it is high in calories and cholesterol. When I do indulge, it's shrimp and grits, pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes, and fried whole okra.

ATMOSPHERE Nothing too special about the atmosphere here. I just love that. It was nice clean open area with large windows and plenty of seating and easy to get around. The bar area look cool and the layout was nice. FOOD this is why you came here, right! All kinds of fish cooked all kinds of different ways. Delicious gumbo. Love that pimento cheese ball appetizer with that blueberry pepper jelly! For lunch, I had the meat and three. It was all good, especially the collard greens. SERVICE THIS WAS MAYBE SOME OF THE BEST SERVICE I HAD THE WHOLE TIME I WAS IN ORANGE BEACH THIS WEEKEND. OUR SERVER WAS SO AMAZING. I HATE THAT I CAN'T REMEMBER HER NAME, BUT SHE WAS ON TOP OF IT AND SUPER DELIGHTFUL. DRINKS The bar area looked really nice. Most of my table had iced tea which everybody enjoyed. I also got a beer from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I was very impressed by their beer selection and they are a verified venue on the Untappd app so you can go to that app to look at all the beer selection and even filter and sort the beers so that you can have an easier time selecting the proper beverage. It even came out in a glass that matched the beer that I had! I like that extra touch.

They had a meat and three sides which is a southern thing. I chose the fresh catch. with side salad, boiled red potatoes, and greens. I had asked the server for the salad first. But it was brought with the meal. The salad was fresh and crisp, with a surprise of a small Peppa dew pepper. Blazing red with a little heat and delicious. Haven't seen them in a restaurant ever. Unfortunately my fish and potatoes were cold, cold and butter congealed. The greens were warm and good I had also ordered the cornbread. It was refreshing to see that it wasn't the usual cake like kind, plus not the ultra sweet kind either. More bread like with a hint of sweetness. Delicious. The fish and potatoes had a nice flavor but unfortunately the cold food spoiled the experience. Since I was a guest of my sister I didn't say anything about the cold food. What a disappointment. Maybe when I return things will be better.

We had to wait about 15mins for a table which was fine bc it was dinner time and it's a popular spot. We sat down and it wasn't 2 mins when the Famous rolls came out. Our waiter Holden promptly greeted us and brought us drinks. He gave us a few minutes to look over the menu and we finally decided on country fried steak. A gentleman came around with fried okra before our meals came out and it was delicious. This was our first time trying okra and it did not disappoint. Our meals came out pretty quickly and we sat waiting to have rolls "throwed" at us. My husband spotted the roll thrower, put up his hand, and had a roll "throwed" at him that he ended up partially catching with his hand and his chest. I was slow raising my hamd and had to wait for my roll. Surprisingly, I caught the roll. It was soft, but heavy. We then waited for the girl to come around with the apple butter and molasses. We each got a scoop of apple butter and proceeded to enjoy our rolls. We also had the fried potatoes with onions which was the best side second only to the rolls themselves. The sides with our entree - french fries, corn bread, peaches- were okay, but I could do without them. The mashed potatoes and gravy were a good pairing with the country fried steak. The real winners were the "throwed" rolls, friend potatoes with onions, and the okra. Holden was wonderful and attentive. He provided a box to take my leftovers, offered us togo drinks even though all we ordered was water, and went back and got me togo silverware so I could enjoy my leftovers in the car. I don't know if we would go out of our way to return, but it was a fun experience and we enjoyed most of what we ordered.
