Excellent place! Favorite among locals! They are not only a safe bar, but give back to the community all year long with benefits!

The Galway Irish Public House - Stopped in to see about bringing our Friday group here.

We saw flying adverts for this place while at the beach, so we figured why not?…read more We found it pretty easily and it gives a very comfortable vibe, so dress up or down they will welcome you in. Our server, Michael was absolutely wonderful. (Plus he has amazing hair!) Anyway, we started with my Smoked Old Fashioned (It was ok, bartender went a little heavy on the bitters, and I should've asked for Bulleit Rye but that was my bad.) Anyway, Honey got a Black and Blue. Both came out super quick and we were instantly refreshed. We chose to sit in the patio bc the weather was nice and not too hot or cold. It was just right. We started with the ColCannon Boxty Appetizer. It is small balls of shredded potatoes that are fried, and come with a delish aioli dipping sauce. We chose to split the Shepherds pie for our main course. The meat gave me meat loaf vibes but with a ground beef texture and a unique aftertaste.. It was good, just the texture is unique! It came with a small portion of the Brown Bread with Garlic butter. It was good! We asked for more Garlic butter. It was delicious! We would've ordered a Creme Brûlée but we were both stuffed. It was overall a great place and we will visit it again. A must visit if you are in Orange Beach!

Coming for dinner on a Friday night, we were definitely concerned about getting a spot to eat. Parking is definitely limited, but we were pleased to find there was no way for a table outside. The weather was lovely and the music piped outside (often featuring Irish artists such as one of my favorites, Hozier!) made the whole atmosphere perfect. The inside is cute (albeit dim) and fulfills the pub fantasy. The ladies' restroom was clean. Our waitress was cheerful and fun. It took a little while for her to come get our drink order but after that she was johnny on the spot. The other waitstaff was friendly and professional too. My parents split the fish and chips, I got the chicken pot pie, and we split a side of colcannon. The sweet tea I had to drink was a little on the unsweet side for me, but I often find that's the case at restaurants on the gulf...further evidence that Florida/the gulf area is fundamentally different from the rest of the Deep South. Lol. My parents definitely enjoyed the fish and chips overall. I think my dad was hoping for a little more salt/seasoning in the fish breading but my mom was VERY pleased with hers. I'd never had colcannon before and thought what we got was just alright, figuring it wasn't really for me. My mom, who's tried it a few times different places, said she'd had a lot better. It had a pretty strong beer taste from the gravy on top. I'd be curious to try it again somewhere else and see how it compares. The shining star of the night was definitely my chicken pot pie. The crust was delightfully brown, the chicken was succulent and plentiful, and the sauce it swam in with the tender veggies was super flavorful and aromatic. It was perfect for a very slightly chilly evening. The brown bread served with it was absolutely delightful too, warm and rich and topped with delicious herb butter. I could easily eat a whole loaf. This was a great meal! Thanks for a unique and tasty dinner in Gulf Shores! I highly recommend the chicken pot pie to anyone considering it. :)

I walked in and was disrespected as soon I sat down with my husband. From across the way a man with a hat and blue shirt was blowing me kisses. As if I didn't walk in with my husband. Another African American man was smiling at me. Thankfully. I'm very aware of my surroundings. A young lady walks up to us. She's like you're so pretty. They won't mess with you. You will be ok. I'm like who's they? She kept staring at my with an evil eye necklace. She asked me for my name and walked away. She went to sit down with the guy with the blue shirt. As if I don't understand what you're doing with your spirit. Im blessed to have god on my side. I don't accept negative energy. A heavy set man came up talking to me throwing racial comments as if I was a fool and didn't understand. I told him we don't speak Spanish and he kept going, proceeded to tell my husband I've never seen a PBR shirt. Sir, maybe you should get some new clothes! I didn't feel safe at all. I understand im from out of town but you can't just come up to someone you don't know start pretending like you're funny as I catch your racism. I might not be as nice as I was giving bc I'm not in my town and I was trying to respect. I've NEVER felt so uncomfortable in a hole in a bar til this day. When I tell you I travel and support bars in different states and cities. I love it. This had to be the worse experience. As we walked out I see all the man walk up to eating me alive. As if they've never seen a women before. I understand my body type is not the usual and my race. Someone yelled out gracias. Get with the times! Yall are a mixed crowed and racist. It's giving mental issues not to even mentioned alcoholic.

We got here mid-afternoon on a weekday so as expected it wasn't very busy which was great for us since we had plenty of time to meet the staff and owner and got a little history of this establishment and of course partake in some delicious german cuisine and for me a taste of the ice cold german beers on tap. This is a beautiful venue and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming. I'm definitely not an axe thrower but I do have a palette for delicious german food and I'm definitely a self-proclaimed expert beer drinker. After spending some time in Germany I developed a love for German Beer so I wasn't going to waste this opportunity to enjoy a few of my favorites, the BitBurger Pilsner and Hofbrau Dunkel Lager which never disappoints - The menu is filled with authentic offerings that made choosing a little difficult for me I wanted a taste of everything. We started with an amazing pretzel and bier cheese soooo yummy and so big there's plenty to share, we also ordered the Rueben and Brat with fried potatoes everything was perfectly executed so my hats off to the kitchen. This was a wonderful experience, a very comfortable setting and great conversation with everyone that makes this place great, we can't wait to return on our next trip to the area and I've already discussed with Barrett that we'll have a toast with a few cold ones then - I can't wait, you definitely need to bookmark this one...

Their tap list made this German bier drinker very happy! I ordered the Jägerschnitzel. The food came out promptly. The portion was just fine. The plate was full with a proper looking schnitzel, perfectly browned potatoes, and sauerkraut. The thinly breaded cutlet of schnitzel was pan fried perfectly, of good quality, and flavorful, covered with a tasty mushroom brown sauce. The potatoes were fried perfectly with just the right salt and butteriness. Now the sauerkraut... that is some good homemade kraut! No joke! If you aren't a fan of sauerkraut, you will be after this. I am first generation German. I go to German often. I know how German cuisine should taste. So.....The chef is doing good work. I look forward to try other things on the menu. As for ambiance..... This is not a normal German looking restaurant on the inside or outside. Don't let the strip mall style exterior or the axe throwing sports bar interior stop you from enjoying this place. I have looked around the Foley/Gulf Shores area for a German style restaurant and bar. This is it for me.
