Kevin loved it!

Such a cool place! Great staff and yummy food. Cold beer was extra good. Thankful for a quick lunch place to break up the work day!

Nice ambiance!

Followed the Yelp to this spot on an evening when we just wanted an "easy" dinner. Small, unassuming spot with a laid back vibe, coastal decor and a chill atmosphere. The clientele was split between locals and vacationers, young and old. There was no live entertainment when we were there, but it seems like it would be a great spot for a casual hang out with drinks and music. Speaking of drinks - ours weren't anything exceptional, but they gave a good pour and basically anything is refreshing when the temps are outrageous!! I appreciated the generous serving of limes :) Our sandwiches were delicious! I had a Philly with chicken and it was solid with good flavor and great bread. The chips on the side were crisp and salty in the best way. Service was fast and friendly. We almost wish our food had taken longer because we were enjoying taking in our surroundings and watching the games on the TVs Definitely worth a stop if you are in town and looking for a great sandwich in a quaint location!

Super nice staff. Mai Tai and Lemon Drop were excellent. The Sloop Dog is a must have.

Local "dive bar" ambiance with great food. Came for some drinks and good food. Small parking lot, many clearly parked in the lot next door(despite signage indicating it was for the boat dockage across the street). Service was good. Cheesesteak was VERY good. Dessert - the Cheesecake eggroll... wow, absolutely delicious! Don't let the rough appearance fool you, the food is VERY good... as in the "hole in the wall" vibe.

Amazing as always! Everything is always so good and service is spot on. Definitely a favorite spot

Met another couple here for dinner, and they recommended The Sloop. Outstanding meal at fair price. The food was great and big portions! Would come here again, it's that good!

A local favorite and we feel right at home here. Open late with food served. Full bar...local craft beers..friendly bartenders. Live music on weekends. Smoking allowed outside. Everything on the menu is good. Not your typical bar food. Cheesesteak egg rolls are a must. Quesadilla and loaded fries are so filling. Check out the daily specials. Starting to serve breakfast.

Cheesesteak. Small size

If you want a great cheesesteak in this part of town, this is where I'd go. The homemade chips are great too and the cheesecake is a great way to end the meal. Service is great and they all make sure you're good. It's a small place and it's easy to miss but when you find it you'll remember it.

Great bar and grill off the beaten path. Great fishing theme. Some of the freshets made to order sandwiches in the area. My Philly Cheesesteak was on point. The staff were super friendly. Great spot to take family while on vacation.

Consistently great bar food, great service regardless of the crowd, and dive bar vibe. As a local, it's one of my off season favorites.

A quirky dive with wonderful sandwiches! We had the Philly Cheesesteak which did not disappoint. A must if you're in the Gulf Shores area.

He is a terrific guy and really takes care of us every time we visit. The place itself has been sitting on this same patch of sand since the 50s. It takes a beating whenever the weather gets rough, but the concrete construction holds up. I was impressed by how fast they bounced back after Hurricane Sally. They had the repairs done and the steps to the beach fixed in just a few weeks. Inside, do not expect fine dining. It is very casual with plastic chairs and some hearty, rusty picnic tables outside. It fits the vibe perfectly. As for the food, a lot of people overlook this place for lunch or dinner, but they are missing out. The salads are good and the burger isn't bad, but a few items are absolutely not to be missed. The gator bites are delicious. They are fresh and golden brown with a kickin' tiger sauce. You also have to try the Cajun nachos. It is a giant platter loaded with cheese, crawfish, and shrimp in a rich mushroom sauce. My absolute favorite, though, is the Shrimp and Crab Spaghetti. It is crazy good. It comes with Gulf shrimp and jumbo lump crabmeat in a garlic parmesan cream sauce. I always get it with the works, including jalapeños and onions. It is easily enough food for two people. Verdict: If you want a view and some surprisingly great food, stop here. It's unpretentious, the service is friendly, and you can stick around for karaoke if you want.

There were some pros here, but a lot of cons as well. Such a bummer…read more The pros: location This is right on the beach with ocean views. It's beautiful. The pub is cute as well. Nachos: these were huge and delicious. I wish we would've just stuck with the nachos. Our server: our server was so nice but so stressed. I felt for him. People's food was not coming out of the kitchen fast enough. Cons: the wait for food. We waited over an hour and a half for peel and eat shrimp, gumbo, and a kids grilled cheese meal. SMH. Drinks: they were mid. I had a frozen watermelon margarita and it was overly sour/sweat. People were getting so mad and leaving all around us. It made things uncomfortable. This was our least favorite experience out of a week of dinners out to eat for spring break.

We saw flying adverts for this place while at the beach, so we figured why not?…read more We found it pretty easily and it gives a very comfortable vibe, so dress up or down they will welcome you in. Our server, Michael was absolutely wonderful. (Plus he has amazing hair!) Anyway, we started with my Smoked Old Fashioned (It was ok, bartender went a little heavy on the bitters, and I should've asked for Bulleit Rye but that was my bad.) Anyway, Honey got a Black and Blue. Both came out super quick and we were instantly refreshed. We chose to sit in the patio bc the weather was nice and not too hot or cold. It was just right. We started with the ColCannon Boxty Appetizer. It is small balls of shredded potatoes that are fried, and come with a delish aioli dipping sauce. We chose to split the Shepherds pie for our main course. The meat gave me meat loaf vibes but with a ground beef texture and a unique aftertaste.. It was good, just the texture is unique! It came with a small portion of the Brown Bread with Garlic butter. It was good! We asked for more Garlic butter. It was delicious! We would've ordered a Creme Brûlée but we were both stuffed. It was overall a great place and we will visit it again. A must visit if you are in Orange Beach!

Coming for dinner on a Friday night, we were definitely concerned about getting a spot to eat. Parking is definitely limited, but we were pleased to find there was no way for a table outside. The weather was lovely and the music piped outside (often featuring Irish artists such as one of my favorites, Hozier!) made the whole atmosphere perfect. The inside is cute (albeit dim) and fulfills the pub fantasy. The ladies' restroom was clean. Our waitress was cheerful and fun. It took a little while for her to come get our drink order but after that she was johnny on the spot. The other waitstaff was friendly and professional too. My parents split the fish and chips, I got the chicken pot pie, and we split a side of colcannon. The sweet tea I had to drink was a little on the unsweet side for me, but I often find that's the case at restaurants on the gulf...further evidence that Florida/the gulf area is fundamentally different from the rest of the Deep South. Lol. My parents definitely enjoyed the fish and chips overall. I think my dad was hoping for a little more salt/seasoning in the fish breading but my mom was VERY pleased with hers. I'd never had colcannon before and thought what we got was just alright, figuring it wasn't really for me. My mom, who's tried it a few times different places, said she'd had a lot better. It had a pretty strong beer taste from the gravy on top. I'd be curious to try it again somewhere else and see how it compares. The shining star of the night was definitely my chicken pot pie. The crust was delightfully brown, the chicken was succulent and plentiful, and the sauce it swam in with the tender veggies was super flavorful and aromatic. It was perfect for a very slightly chilly evening. The brown bread served with it was absolutely delightful too, warm and rich and topped with delicious herb butter. I could easily eat a whole loaf. This was a great meal! Thanks for a unique and tasty dinner in Gulf Shores! I highly recommend the chicken pot pie to anyone considering it. :)
