Very tasty. I haven't seen this place before. It's tucked behind Taco Mama on Old Shell and near the Publix. It's like Subway but with Greek food. I had the harissa chicken and it was pretty mild, not hot at all like harissa usually is but still was good. The pita was soft and the veggies were all fresh. I liked the cilantro sauce a lot. The employees were super helpful and friendly when I asked what things were. The line got long during lunch but moved really fast. There were several flies buzzing around and the tables needed wiping off. Seeing flies around open food is a big ick for me. Other than that it was a good lunch! read more

The food was good. Tasty but it was cold. It was our first time there and we told them when we were going through the line where they assemble your food (like Chipotle). I asked for help several times as to what I should get and/or what was popular. I was met with blank stares. "Do you want some of that?" "What is that." Calls it by the Greek name with no explanation. "I'll put it in the corner." They seemed annoyed that I did not know what I wanted on my first time seeing most of the food. What a great find! Clean, simple food, lots of veggie options and there was outdoor sitting. Okay 3 tables, but there was the option. It was my first time here and I felt that I was explained all the yummy options without feeling like I was asking too many questions, which I was. Hey, first timer here! I opted for the bowl instead of the wrap with rice and greens as a base and the original falafel protein, added some green beans and everything else I could find. Options were superb! You do get charge for a bit of extras but she explained it as I was making my selections so I was not surprised at the checkout counter. Two things why I did not give it a 5 stars. One, the women's bathroom was out of order. Yes, I used the men's bathroom. The other was that their hummus could have used some flavor. It was plain. Not my preference, but still edible and since everything else was good easy to overlook. They had another 4 options for their hummus FYI. So I was able to catch the soft opening today at our new Midtown restaurant. Guess what?? It was simply delicious. They were working very hard to ensure my experience was the best. And it was. Pita is two-thirds size of normal. Nothing was prepared to order. Precut ingredients were all stored in bins. No browned gyros just sliced from the vertical broiler for you! Tatziki was good and sandwich fillings were ample. The woman behind the counter was polite. But loud fans or equipment noise made it hard to hear each other and unpleasant to sit inside to eat. Decor is typical fast food joint, but prices are higher than same items in more comfortable places. Disappointing. read more

Ok,... decided to try this place again after talking with some friends who are Greek and who loved this place and... They gave me some great pointers! The lentil or the rice bowl? Both yummy! The grilled chicken and the gyro chicken are both fantastic, but depending on the time of day, get a look at it and ask for freshly cut meat if it looks dried out. They very willingly will get that for you if you ask! Also, you can get the Tzatziki sauce on the side. The potatoes are AMAZING and lemony and the Green beans are phenomenal. I could make a plate out of those two sides and the chicken. Delish! read more

Wow, this place was on point! Clean, efficient, fresh ingredients, friendly service. The traditional gyro I tried tasted great and was nice to be able to select exactly what I wanted on it. We were offered some samples of soup, a spinach wrap (I can't remember the name), baklava, and baklava cheesecake that were all very good! Great atmosphere to enjoy a good quick lunch or dinner. I've been here twice and had a good experience both times. Once I got the bowl with lentils as the base, and the next time I tried the pita with gyro chicken, spicy hummus, pickled onions and feta. Also had a side of Lemonis potatoes. I highly recommend the gyro chicken as your protein, it's very tasty. Prices are affordable and portion sizes are just right. The building is newer and looks clean and modern. Service is pretty quick, it's based on the Subway model where you tell them what ingredients you want as you move down the line. The Lemonis potatoes are good. They have a hint of lemon flavor, I just wish it was bit more. When my grandmother used to make Greek potatoes, they were swimming in lemon and oregano and were broiled until the tips were just browned. That's what I was expecting in my mind (oh, nostalgia). You won't go wrong with the potatoes as a side. But maybe they could try tweaking their recipe a bit? Just asking. read more

We stopped by The Simple Greek around 7 pm on Friday. They were kind of busy, one family sitting and eating inside and about three in line. Two workers in the front serving people. When you walk up it is like a build your own assembly line set up. You can pick between a pita or bowl then your protein (if you want one) then toppings and lastly what sauces you'd like. If you ask for more than two they will charge you - the Garlic cream and Tzatziki are my personal favorites. We also got a side of their Greek fries. They are okay - It's regular French fries made to order and topped with feta, salt and vinegar. It is a nice quick place to get a bite to eat. read more

There's a new spot in MiMo ( Midtown Mobile) and they are serving up some Greek food. My co-workers and I decided to order lunch since it's only 15 minutes away. I placed the order online. Be prepared choosing each item is overwhelming. I just trying to eat here, come on. First, you choose bowl or pita, then protein then toppings. It's gotta be a nightmare for whoever fills the orders. We ordered 3 bowls and one pita. Well, guess what? Got it back to the office and two bowls were wrong. Called to restaurant and Ryan apologize and stated they would remake the bowls. Fifteen minutes later I arrived to pickup the bowl and they just handed me the bag minus utensils. No "Sorry here is Baklava, spanktopida, nothing" Oh well, let's get to the food. The good: Generous portions The bad: everything else. The flavor was just not there. The GYRO was missing the hummus ordered and it was bland. The meat was luke warm. I called the store mgr, Brian, and he said the meat is kept in a steamer after it is cut and will only be luke warm, if I wanted it hot, I need to get it right after they cook it. Which is...? The bowls look terrific but tasted bland. The taziki sauce was like mayo with a hint of oregano. I asked for salt, pepper, oregano, vinegar and olive oil as well and it wasn't there. The bed of mixed greens we're dry. Atop the bed were chicken and pepperocini, tomato, feta, kalamato olives and it was hard enjoy. It was just a giant salad with no dressing and a little bland chicken. The brown rice bowl had chicken, tomato and blob of taziki and it tasted like it was missing something that pulled it all together. All in all, I wasn't happy. Just tried to grab dinner here on a Thursday night. Handwritten sign on the door said the hours were 10 am to 8 pm. Hopped out of the car at 7:42 and the door was locked. The 2 employees inside just glanced at me and went back to cleaning up. It probably wouldn't have taken more than 10 minutes to let me order, take my food, and go but that's ok. Drove the 10 minutes to Taziki's and got better food, better service, at a better price. That will be Plan A next time. read more

On the pita, you choose your sauce, meat(lamb, schwarma chicken, grilled chicken, steak or shrimp) and then unlimited topping like onions, olives, feta cheese, lettuce, tomato, etc. You can choose 2 sauce on your pita. They have fries, Spanakopita, baklava, baklava cheesecake and kids options. The baklava cheesecake was ok, it was nice to try something different but I prefer classic baklava. Have made several return visits. Have really enjoyed everything we have ordered with one exception. As someone who stuffs and rolls her own grape leaves(dolmades) I was not impressed. I chose a bowl with grilled steak, grilled chicken, feta, kalamata olives, roasted red peppers and pepperoncini peppers over a bed of mixed greens with Greek dressing atop. I like their concept sort of a Chipotle vibe now on the food wise they have limited options so I decided to try the Gyro Bowl everything was good the veggies and sauces that they have are really nice and tasty and it's really fair priced. On top of the great service and the good food I must say the manager of the place wich I didn't get to catch the name unfortunately was always checking on all patrons and even asked about how the meal was and a big plus she gave me a card for a 2x1 meal so I could invite a friend (quite frankly I'll probably use to get me 2 gyro but don't tell anybody) will recommend specially if you want to try something different and fresh. read more
