"I like to mix my amaretto with my orange juice and drink it for breakfast!" Wait what?! The friendliness of this bevmo is awesome. Some of the conversations I have had with the employees are wonderful. I love coming here and I love the prices. The selection of booze is fantastic. They will probably have what you are looking for. What gets me all gitty is their beer section. They have beers from all different regions, and a whole aisle of micro brew. I still am yet to have everything they carry. Broke all your glasses last weekend? Well restock! They have a great cheap selection of glasses for everything. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done. One bad thing about bevmo in general is the discount card. I really wish there was some better way to get a discount other than rack up points and bring in coupons. I ALWAYS forget my damn coupons! The bourbon selection here is decent (not great just decent), but not decent enough to justify the prices they charge. As Yelper Curtis C. points out, CVS has much better prices on many of the same bottles. As Jeff L points out, the parking lot sucks. This is the first place I've found that sells Coldcock Whiskey, although it was placed in an area where one out of maybe 2 or 3 other employees thought it would be. Other than that, the place is tidy, very spacious and the workers were very nice to me and helpful when I needed things to find. read more

I've shopped here quite a few times, they usually have good deals and various new items to choose from. I've even been here for wine tasting, but I rarely drop by here because of the bad service. None of the workers are ever really there for you, even if it's not busy they tend to ignore you so you're better off taking your time and getting familiar with the layout and find items on your own. Some items go out of stock often and the workers never seem to tell you when or if the items will be back in stock. I had also been tired of having to show my ID to the workers every single time I shop here, the same cashiers do it often, other stores usually take a hint after you shop there several times. Sometimes the lines take forever too, it would make more sense for these workers to stock everything after business hours instead of doing it when the lines get too long. I still shop here sometimes, but it's rarely a pleasant experience. read more

I love shopping at Bevmo but their policies are extremely annoying. Everytime I shop there and I'm checking out, they are always asking for the IDs of everyone with me. Not only is the policy annoying but the employees become extremely rude if everyone with me doesn't have their IDs. Bevmo, ditch this policy. I didn't wait 21 years (I'm now 22) so that I can be harrassed and judged about buying alcohol. read more

I've only ever been to one BevMo and that's this one. It's located at Culver Plaza, and in my opinion, the most convenient part. It's kind of towards the back corner where less traffic is, and I like that. As for merchandise, absolutely wonderful. They carry just about anything you could ever want. Although I am a little disappointed they discontinued a very rare Austrian favorite of mine. Besides that though, whether you're looking for foreign beers or just in general some cool looking sodas, this is your go to place. Wide selection and a pretty friendly staff. read more

I would give this store a better review since I come here frequently and like their selection. However, I recently had a bad experience. I went up to an associate, an older man with glasses, to ask if they had a particular beer In stock since it was advertised as in stock on their site and the associate rolled his eyes, gave me an attitude and said that they didn't have it without looking at the picture on my phone for a second. As we were walking out, the associate didn't even wish us a good night. This was a horrible experience and put me and my wife in a bad mood. Will possibly not be coming back to this location. Agreed, management needs to whip these kids into treating the customers better. I say kids because I am twice their age no matter how old they are. You don't need to stand around doing the minimum all day! I have been shopping at this store for many months and consistently I see lazy people working here. So I've tried 5 times to order specialty beer from here. Each time I go to the customer service area and some dude looks for the beer on this 1980s computer system. 15 minutes later they write down some notes on a piece of paper and tell me they will call me when the beer comes in. I shop here almost daily to buy cigars. In general, everyone on the staff is helpful and customer oriented. In specific, Mario the manager is really helpful and friendly, and Elizabeth and Britt are quick to help me with service-getting and purchasing cigars. There are many vendors for cigars within a relatively short distance, yet I prefer the shopping experience and prices at this particular Bevmo. And Ive gotten to know many of the workers over the past couple of years: Chris, Piet, Dori, Elizabeth, Danae, Eric and the rest. They have a huge selection of wine, beer, and liquor all which are really organized and easy to find. The employees are always helpful with suggestions especially on wines. My review is based on their customer service. I've actually never physically shopped through the store. I place my orders online and go directly to the pick-up register. My orders are always ready and I'm in and out of the store in less than 2 minutes! It can't get better than this! read more

Clean store. Friendly staff. The selection does not seem to be as large as some other Bev-Mo locations. And, prices are not that big on the savings unless the 5cent sale is occurring. Have found much better deals and more variety at TOTAL WINE AND MORE, nearby. Even the local grocery stores often have better pricing on Vodka and Rum, which are the two most purchased types of alcohol in our house. read more

This Bevmo needs to seriously work on their customer service. I've been going to this location for years, but after my last experience, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. First of all, the Bevmo was completely empty, except for my friend and I. We wandered around the store for a little while looking at different wines and beers. We were never acknowledged by any sales people on the floor. Though, honestly, that doesn't bother me so much. If I really need help, I'll flag someone down. The problem came when we went to check-out. The cashier did not look he wanted to be there. He starts by asking if we have a rewards card. My friend is in front of me in the line, but I give him my Bevmo card number. He then asks for IDs. I take mine out and show it to him; my friend forgot hers. Now, I realize that it's not great to be in a store that sells liquor without your ID, so my friend's bad. But I was the one buying the liquor, so...Anyway, the cashier looks at my friend and tells her she shouldn't even be in the store because she doesn't have her ID. He refuses to ring me up until she steps away. So, she walks away from the register and waits for me at the door inside the store. While she is walking, he starts ringing up my purchase. Then he stops, looks at my friend, and tells her that she has to LEAVE THE BUILDING. So she literally takes 2 steps and stands on the outside of the doors. -_- I really should've just left at that point, but I was already there...but yea, the whole interaction left a bitter taste in my mouth. Bevmo, you lost 2 customers because of that, and you can be sure we'll be telling our friends not to shop there anymore either. read more

Terrible customer service from a young female with red hair. She clearly hates her life and job. The store is corporate Bevmo, exactly what you'd expect. Is it just me, or did this place used to be way better? Their wine selection is no better now, than the selection at Ralphs or Albertsons. You would think that a store that holds themselves out as a wine superstore would have at least one of the wines currently recommended by Wine Enthusiast. We have come here on multiple occasions, armed with our Wine Enthusiast cheat sheet, only to go home empty handed, or with consolation bottles. My biggest beef with BevMo, is that their domestic Pinot Gris/Grigio selection is horrendous, and the import selection is the same swill you can find anywhere (Ecco Domani, Masa Canali, etc). Stop trying to be a discount retailer, and offer some freakin' selection! read more

Bevmo is a great place to shop for wine, liquor and beer. My review will be about the annual $0.05 sale where if you buy one bottle at regular price, you can buy a second one of the same bottle for only 5 cents. It sounds like a great deal, of which it is, but the variety is extremely limited to select brands. Last year was the first time I participated in the sale and purchased an overwhelming amount of wine. I was super excited and did find that of the seven bottles I bought, one turned out to be a great buy. I ended up coming back to buy a case of the Elena. =) This year, I wanted to try something new and hopefully find my secret treasure amongst the wines available in this promotion. Unfortunately, the brands are almost the same as last year! I was a bit disappointed with the selection and wished that they offered a bit more. After about an hour in the store, I finally made some selections and I'll have to keep you in suspense and update my reviews once I try them. =) read more

BevMo is a place I've been going to for years. Well, at least since I moved to Irvine back in 03'. What makes this place great is that it has all your alcohol needs. Though there are some downsides that I'll get to too. Pros: - If you can think of an alcohol, they probably have it. - If you need old fashion glass coke bottles for a class project; they have that too. - The beer and the hard stuff are cheaper than the market when they're on sale at BevMo. - Responsible staff that always card me even with facial hair lol. - They also carry some snack foods so you don't have to stop at the supermarket too if you just want to throw a party. - generic shot glasses are super cheap. - You can get a membership card. Cons: - Out of the hundreds of dollars I've spend, the membership card has gotten me very little. - It's off of Culver (aka every signal light is like 10 minutes!) - Their retail prices are not always cheaper than the supermarket - The staff seem bored out of their mind. - It is awkwardly quiet in there. - The cold stuff is all the way in the back. read more

This used to be my goto place for wine and liquor but not anymore. The last two times I visited the employees completely ignored me. Just tonight I went in looking for a beaujolais, and I had to ask 3 employees before anyone had a clue and was willing to assist me. I gave up on the wine and bought some vodka. At the checkout the cashier barely acknowledged me and seemed bored. I think I will take my business elsewhere because clearly they can careless about customer service. I made I contact with the cashier and he yelled were closed I asked to quickly grab two bottles of wine an he said no. Great way to keep customers away. I just went to BevMo... Usually shop here on a regular basis. They have always price matched in the past but tonight I was told they would not do it. Their price on the bottle of wine I was buying is five dollars more than Total Wine. I have purchased the same bottle and they have price matched it for me at least 10 times. Love it! We just moved to Irvine not too long ago and were curious about what BevMo was. After stopping in, I felt like a kid in a candy store. I was expecting a lot more from BevMo. Not this one in particular but the chain overall. The beer selection is far below what I thought it would be. While there might be many from around the world, the selection from the U.S. is downright abysmal. I suggest expanding the current offerings by at least two (probably three times would be better) to earn a worthy place for craft brews. read more

I frequented this BevMo back when I was a student at UCI, but I happened to be in the area again recently and stopped by. It was like a walk down memory lane. Walking around those beer aisles brought back found memories of tracking down craft beers and stocking up on obscene amounts of hard liquor. They carry great local brews from places like Stone and the Bruery, as well as your standard fare. The salespeople are super knowledgeable and are great for recommendations. Make sure you get the BevMo card, it's totally worth the perks. read more

Here's the thing about BevMo, you can't hate them. They have shelves and shelves of wine and beer from all over. Beer is my typical drink of choice and I have found everything I have ever wanted here. Imports from everywhere and it's a beautiful thing. Same goes for their wine and hard liquor sections. I'm seriously here all the time because of my wine addiction and the staff has gotten to know me and my boyfriend pretty well! Sometimes there are wine tasting to the left of the entrance although its a bit hidden. Staff is very knowledgeable about what they carry so I'm glad this store is ran by alcoholics like me haha. And they carry mangoscato now! Plus, some wine glasses are only $2 each so be on the lookout for some steals! You can't enjoy your haul from the 5 cent wine sale without a new, big wine glass! read more
