Pretty straightforward for a convenience/liquor store. I primarily use the place to grab a cold bottle of water, un refresco, or a candy bar. I like to support small businesses such as these rather than going to a chain store. The guy behind the counter, who I presume is the owner, is always friendly and welcoming. There is a much friendlier liquor store around the corner on Baker!!!! A friend had a bottle of a liquor called Hot Sex. I thought it would be fun to pick up a bottle for another friends Halloween party. I first went to the friendly liquor store, they hadn't heard of it. But looked up online and saw they didn't have it. Then he checked Bevmo's website for me, and they didn't have it either. So I went home to call around. I tried Bevmo and they informed me it was discontinued for them. So then I decided to call Nady's, it is just around the corner. I was shocked and happy when they guy that answered informed me they had it. I immediately got in the car and drove over there. I was there in less than 5 minutes. The cashier informed me "his friend" that answered the phone wasn't there. And they don't have Hot Sex in stock. I know this sounds like a joke but I am being absolutely serious. I went here to buy a powerball ticket with the dates of my sons birth for $2 and when I ask the guy for a ticket with these specific numbers picked, he prints a ticket and says that will be $16. I told him, no I didn't want those numbers, Just the numbers written on the piece of paper I had shown him. He says I still have to pay for the ticket and "you can't play your own numbers." i asked "so you can only do a quick pick with powerball?" and he said "yes" so I paid the $16 and left. When I got home my husband said that the man was wrong, my husband had played those numbers in the previous draw. He even looked it up online. You CAN pick your own numbers. The employee straight lied to my face. Never going here again!!!! read more

I had the most terrible experience in this store, on 8.13.14, tuesday night going into wednesday am., at approx.12:30-1:00am. The store clerk was rude, arrogant and lazy, and unprofessional. While he was chatting away with the vendor guy who drives the truck that cleans the parking lot, completely ignoring the fact he had a customer, while speaking in Spanish (assuming I knew no spanish) WRONG! I was subjected to putdowns and sexist remarks, now feeling not only ignored, but uncomfortable and offended. I proceeded to ask the employee (store clerk) if he could check 2 off my scratcher tickets first, then next I had planned was to purchase cig.s for my boyfriend and a few more scratchers. Well, he didn't respond at first, still ignoring me. I then asked again as he now gave me a dirty look and snarled at me, that I could check them myself on the machine. I then attempted to explain why and he cut me off and said the same thing again, but only meaner and more aggressively. (Now I ask you folks out there, if this is good or business and is he providing the kind of customer service that makes you want to come back?). HELL NO! Feeling offended, insulted and putdown, I mustered up as much self confidence as I could and attempted to check my tickets on the machine with no success, feeling bad, as I walked out forgetting to buy the cigarettes and scratchers, I muttered under my breath, how disgusted I was feeling and thinking to myself that I'm goining to contact the lottery and find out who the owner is to this place. Meanwhile I sat out in my car parked right in front of the place and had the opportunity to see how other customers, even the transient person who sleeps next door outside gets treated better than I and all the customers I saw were males. I really felt bad and discriminated against, which caused me pain and discomfort emotionally. When just last week I had turned in a scratcher that was a winner ($100). My frequency of visits to this store, over the last six months, have been three to four times a month, and apparently when I do get this particuliar employee, his attitude generally sucks along with demonstrating an arrogant and usually he's not to helpful, but this is the last time I'm going to take such unprofessional and rude treatment from this employee. I couldn't get away with that kind of behavior towards a potential client at my job. It's obvious he's been allowed to get away with this for probably as long as he's worked there. This employee needs to be reprimanded, counseled and even rerminated, he obviously doesn't care about his job or the customers and apparently shows the way he feels by being very judgmental in a discriminating way, based on sex, national origin. I really hope others who have experienced the same come forward, as this should not be tolerated and it is against the law. I hop the owner reads this and cares enough about his customers to correct this matter. As this was by far one of the worst experience I have had of this nature, You just lost my business and you can be sure that I will definitely let friends and family know this is well. So Mr business owner if you want to have a thriving business I suggest you fire that employee before he gets you sued! read more
