I love wines! I love MJ Fine Wines! It's amazing wine shop in this area. There are a lot of difficult wines here and I can always find what I want. The staff Chelsea is very nice and knowledgeable about wine. She always know what I like. I tried red wine, white wine, sparkling wine recommended by Chelsea and I love those wines very much. Due to some folks at my work giving me Doordash gift cards to thank me for various things, I had amassed quite a bit of credit on it, and wanted to see if I could buy a bottle of Hennessy XO with the credits. If you're familiar with Doordash, it is great for ordering food, but not so much for ordering products. So, searching for Hennessy XO on the Doordash website, very few places had it, and even few places had it that wasn't a total ripoff. Fortunately, I ran across MJ Fine Wine & Spirits, where they listed the Hennessy XO for a reasonable price. As the description on Doordash was a bit unclear (didn't list the size and the brand's name had been misspelled), I decided to go to the store to verify it was the item I wanted before committing to the purchase on Doordash. Going to the store, I was pleasantly surprised with it. The parking can be a bit challenging, as it is somewhat limited in terms of the number of spaces for how many overall stores in the lot (though they do seem to have many more spaces in the back, just a bit of a walk). Walking up to the door, it was closed but had a buzzer you ring, and once rang someone opened it almost immediately. Inside, it was a very nice place. Quite roomy, lots of very fancy and high end wines and spirits, and had a very nice feel overall. The guy that helped me was extremely nice and helpful (his English wasn't perfect, but definitely more than adequate). I showed him the listing of the Hennessy XO on the Doordash app, and he immediately showed me the exact bottle, so I went ahead and placed the order on the app, which went through in a matter of minutes. After completing that transaction, I walked around a bit more to check out the other things they had there. Note that they don't have every single type of liquor/spirit there, for instance they didn't have any gin, which is one of my favorites. When I spoke with the guy a bit about it, he told me they concentrate on stuff that Asians usually favor. The store itself definitely has an Asian design motif. They did have a lot of rarer items though, for instance I spotted a very fancy bottle of Clase Azul Tequila (one of the special edition ones). I didn't think I would get anything further than the Hennessy XO, but then I spotted that they had the Caymus 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon there for a very reasonable price (the 2019 bottles had already sold out at the time, and it was the first time that I realized the 2020 bottles were available), so I ended up buying one. Again, a very easy and smooth transaction. Overall, I highly suggest this place, good prices (for such a small shop), nice environment, great customer service, and some very nice/rare items. read more

I loved it. Finally a place nearby where you can get fine wines at a reasonable price. This is a place you can relax and have a good time. Not stuffy or pretentious. And the price on wines is cheaper than I could find online. Such a great variety: French wines, Paso Robles wines, even Sake. The owners are very open to what you think. They know wines very well. It's refreshing and fun to find a place like this near home. Every wine I tried was great. Right now they have free tastings every Sat. I can't wait to go back when they get a Spanish wine that's supposed to come in. Go check them out, you'll be glad you did! read more

wine selection is average. but....the 1star is for customer service and phone etiquette. just terrible. I'd rather drive down to Newport Beach in traffic during the holiday season than to go to this place again. Not worth spending my money here but then again, they probably wouldn't care anyways. read more

My brother is visiting from another country and wanted to buy a few bottles for his wine club. We know Hi-Time has a great selection. He asked a staff member for a specific wine bottle and he said they didn't have it. They spent a few more minutes talking and the staff member left without any convincing recommendations for my brother. My brother kept looking and then Michael showed up. This experience just made me prefer takeout more, but I think my tourists wanted air conditioning and there was not enough outdoor seating for our party. Maybe next time I can eat a quantity more befitting of a smaller party.

WOW! There is really a lot I can say about this place, but it really takes one to experience to truly know. The staff here are some of the most polite people I have met, and they literally will explain the selection of wines to you in a way that you understand and know what it is your purchasing. The lady here took almost ten minutes answering my questions and making sure I got the best sake for what it was that I was looking for.
