When I heard Better Buzz was coming to town, I was SO excited! My first time trying BB was 10+ years ago when I was down in San Diego and I am so happy they have made their way up to OC! I took the chance and went on opening day. I went through their drive thru (so ideal) and it was only about a 10 minute wait-way quicker than I anticipated! The staff from ordering to receiving our drinks were all super friendly. Their coffee is top notch and they have such a great and fun variety of drinks to fit every season! I tried their Gingerbread Best Drink Ever and it tasted like Christmas in a cup! I always stick to my usual caramel vanilla latte and I'm so glad I tried something new! I don't think you can truly go wrong with any drink on their menu. I look forward to coming back soon! read more

We visited Better Buzz Placentia and ordered a cold brew and a vanilla bean oat milk iced decaf espresso. We also had a yummy zucchini bread and yummy fun cream donut holes. Shaun and Ben took our orders and they showed us courtesy and kindness. We have the Better Buzz app so we are on our way to some tasty rewards. They honor a military discount, which is so nice. It was a Carl's Jr. at one time, so the seating area is spacious and clean. We seated ourselves at a small table and comfy chairs. One of the baristas brought me my drink. The music was a little too loud and not our style, but maybe that's a generational preference. Overall, we plan to return and try some other fun drinks and yummy treats. read more

Nothing special or memorable about it. * Mocha de Mexico - 5.5/10 This one was the better of the three, but still not great. It didn't taste much like coffee or Mexican chocolate, which was surprising given the name. I drove by this cute coffee shop recently and thought- that's cute. I need to try that place. I came in and was the only person in line and was not greeted by anyone. Ok- no biggie. I know things get busy. Then I waited at least 8 minutes for my order to be taken. I've now waited 10 minutes for my drink and a drink from the people who ordered after me has been made. I started this while still inside. It's seems people are cleaning up and restocking and no one has made a drink for about 4 minutes. It also pretty warm inside. I'm still waiting for my drink. Only one more drink has been made while I've been waiting. This has been a disappointing first time. Second drink of the order after me is now done and two more drinks of the people who ordered after me were made before mine. It took about 12 minutes to get my drink made. I got the Honey Latte and the lemon poppy seed muffin. The drink is ok. The muffin is good. A little hard on the top. read more

Let me start off by telling you guys that I've always loved Better Buzz -- I used to drive all the way to San Diego just to get it, and I still genuinely love the brand and their coffee. That's why it's disappointing to say this location hasn't lived up to the standard I know they're capable of. Out of five visits, only my first drive-thru experience went smoothly. The other times, my order was incorrect (even after I double-checked it), and I've had to come inside to fix it. On one visit, I asked for a straw and was told to grab it myself from a crowded area, which felt a bit dismissive. I don't mind paying premium prices for great coffee! I happily have for years and always will but consistent service issues make it hard to justify. The location itself is beautiful, but the overall vibe and service just haven't matched the Better Buzz experience I'm used to. I hardly ever come to Better Buzz because I'm usually a Starbucks customer, and after this experience, I remember why. I decided to try the Banana Matcha and had a few questions since I'm not familiar with all the coffee shop terminology. The drink itself was actually really good. The customer service, however, was awful. The employee who took my order, Cat, acted like answering basic questions was the biggest inconvenience of her day. I asked if I could get the drink with oat milk, and instead of simply explaining it, she responded with attitude that it didn't contain dairy. Then I asked if the Banana Matcha was similar to the one Starbucks has since that's the only one I've ever tried, and her response was, "I don't know what Starbucks has." Okay...? Obviously I'm asking because I'm trying to figure out what to order. The entire interaction felt like she was annoyed that a customer dared to ask questions. Instead of helping, she kept saying she was "confused." Imagine working in customer service and making the customer feel like they're the problem for asking about the menu. I've worked in customer service since 2008, and one thing I've learned is that even if you're having a bad day, you don't take it out on customers. Maybe Cat was having a rough day, maybe she hates her job, I don't know. What I do know is that she made what should have been a simple order feel unnecessarily awkward and frustrating. The ironic part is that the Banana Matcha was a 10/10. The drink was honestly great. Unfortunately, the customer service was a 0/10. I feel like my rating is completely justified because while the product was excellent, the experience was not. Great drinks can bring customers in, but poor customer service is what keeps them from coming back. Better Buzz has a good product, but if this is the level of customer service they're okay with, they need to do a better job training their employees. The matcha was amazing. This was my first time ever visiting a Better Buzz Coffee! I came in early in the morning for my coffee before work and surprisingly it wasn't as busy. There were a couple cars in the drive thru so I came inside. I was greeted when I came in and the place was extremely clean and inviting! There definitely was a lot to choose from on the menu so I just went with a safe bet and got one of their latest spring drinks (the Banana Pudding latte). Kat helped us out and her service was impeccable and very hospitable! She guided me through the menu and told me about the place since it was my first time and even introduced me to her other manager Jess who was so friendly!
