I was able to try the Iced Honey Lavender Latte and it was so good. The guy working was doing a good job greeting people and taking orders and fulfilling the orders. The coffee shop is huge with plenty of seats. It wasn't busy nor loud on a Wednesday morning so I would definitely come back to get a coffee and get some work done.

Obsessed with their chorizo breakfast sandwich. It has avocado!!

Just here to check in again and let y'all know that golden state still reigns supreme. They have it all, good coffee, good food, good pastries, plenty of seating, and service is always great!

Cool space with a lot of seating. One of the workers could not be bothered as he was busy talking to his friend the whole time. Coffee was okay, I got the london fog latte and wish it was a little sweeter.

Very very good coffee with lots of space to sit and chat. The regular menu is solid and the seasonal drinks are very unique. My current favorites are the blackberry tonic and summer camp cookie.

Phenomenal spot!! The location is in Old Towne Placentia which is already a vibe for me, it reminds me of my home country so much. It's right next to the metro station so there's lots of parking nearby on top of street parking. This was our first time and it did not disappoint! Not only is this place HUGE but it's so nice inside and comfy and such a great spot to hang out with a large group or even come to study! They have the roaster out on the floor as well that you can see behind glass windows which just added to the ambiance inside. The barista was sweet and answered all my questions. Food and drinks came out fast! I am still currently caffeine free so I ordered a hot chocolate with a turkey sausage breakfast sandwich. It was so delicious and hit the right spot!! They also have tapatío in the middle counter in case you need spice like I do. My husband got their famous Spanish latte iced! He said it was on the sweeter side and was glad he also ordered a double shot of espresso on the side to toss into it. So keep in mind you may want to add shots if you like your drinks stronger. He also had the chorizo breakfast sandwich and it was very well made and didn't need any added spice. We will definitely be back here! Such a good hang out spot for large groups!!

Super friendly staff in a beautiful antique building with plenty of space to set up to study or meet up with friends. It's located in a historic brick building with nooks and outlets ready to charge a laptop. There's also a large window where you can watch the roasting process happen.

One of my favorite spots to get coffee and get work done. Tons of small tables and brick walls that absorb sound well. Love the ambiance. Parking is limited right in front the building, but there's a big public parking lot down the street.

This coffee place is awesome!! There is so much great seating since with outlets, free WiFi, and a clean restroom. They have food, pastries, and delicious coffee. I got a Spanish latte and it was delicious! Great and strong tasting espresso. Staff is also super friendly and there is lots of free parking.

First time here and less than a mile from the office. Located in a small old town quaint neighborhood of Placentia. There's very limited parking on the street but lots of parking in the back. Located in an old building, inside they have their own roasters with a wide open space for mobile working. Very very large open space by the counter. They have all year long coffees and tea menu and a seasonal menu. Small bite patties and sandwiches are available. Quick to order. The chorizo breakfast sandwich is really good with the chipotle sauce. Seasonal campfire latte is pretty tasty. Wish they had the maple latte on the menu. Maybe next year. I'll soon come again since I know it's close by.

Dirty matcha latte and avocado toast
    Connie B.

I used to come here a lot more in the past, then I stopped, but I didn't remember why. Then my most recent visit jogged my memory. The atmosphere and ambiance of this coffee shop is great - I love the brick walls and the spaciousness. Definitely hipster vibes. It looks like it's built to be a place to work and have meetings, but very relaxed at the same time. They also have numerous outlets. On the day I went, I ordered a dirty matcha latte, which isn't on their menu but they said they can do it (just add an espresso shot to their matcha latte). I also ordered an avocado toast. To be honest it seemed like the workers didn't want to be there, because they were very robotic and didn't give any eye contact when I picked up my order. My dirty matcha was incredibly clumpy, which I can't fully blame them for as it was an off-menu item, but it just wasn't great. The avocado toast wasn't even on toasted bread. The wifi connection was horrible, to the point that I just wrote in my journal for an hour or so and left. This is a recurring issue and probably why I stopped coming before. All this being said, if I just came here to grab one of their menu drinks and hang out with a friend or a book, I'm sure that would be a fantastic experience. But as a place to work I'd probably go elsewhere, especially if you need good internet connection. Or use a good hotspot!

Will Golden State ever offer bigger sizes besides 16oz, I really wish I could get a large 24oz iced latte?

    Are dogs allowed?

They have a small patio outside, so yes

Do they sell coffee beans in store?

Tim, sorry for the delay, yes absolutely we sell them in the store. Thanks!

Are you open for indoor seating? (looking for a place to study away from the hot weather!)

Hi! Yes, we’re now able to offer limited indoor seating. Our Wi-Fi also reaches the tables located immediately outside our cafe. Hopefully cooler weather will arrive soon! Thanks for reaching out!

What is the parking situation like? Is there a private lot or is it street parking only?

Street parking and there's a small lot across the street next to the bridge that goes across the train tracks. If there's no parking (there's always parking), you can park at the public lot off Crowther before Cameron where the bridge is at and… Read more

Now the coffee AMAZING !!!!! I get the cookie butter latte iced. Hands down the best cookie butter I've had. What has made me write this review is if you place an order online they won't put the ice until after you arrive at the pick up counter. I love this due to the coffee not ending up being diluted. I've never enter a coffee shop that does this and by far enjoy that. It shows they take pride in their coffee beans. I also get the banana nut bread. By far the best bread I've ever had. I honestly recommend this coffee shop , I was hesitant at first since it was within the church grounds but after the first sip I fell in love and will continue to come.

Still, I decided to give this place a second chance (no angry neighbor this time), and I was glad I did! PARKING: There's street parking around the neighborhood - I parked on Almond Ave so I wasn't in front of a house. The spots right outside the shop were 30 minute only. If you can't find parking there's probably tons as you go east if you're willing to walk. WHAT I ORDERED: Pistachio cream cold brew THE DRINK: Amazing. I've had my share of acidic or bitter cold brews, and this was not one of them. The cream was perfectly sweetened and flavored . SERVICE: Exceeded my expectations. The baristas when I came in were very bubbly and answered my questions and gave me suggestions, and were funny too! I wish I got their names, but they were working on Monday early afternoon - I hope they get some recognition. We also got some samples of the food items (which may have swayed me to get the turkey panini next time I come in). Even with the experience I had above a while back ago, I remember going in to let the baristas know and they were very understanding and apologetic, which I really appreciated. VIBES: Probably one of the top coffee shops to get work done in OC. Here's my work-from-coffee-shop checklist: * OUTLETS: So many. Not at the tables downstairs but in the private rooms and at a lot of the seating upstairs. * WIFI/INTERNET: Yes, good speed * BATHROOMS: Yes, clean * WATER: You can ask for free water * VOLUME: Music was a little bit loud but not terrible * SEATING AVAILABILITY: Lotsssss of seats when I came on a Monday late morning-afternoon. Very cool that there were private rooms (which can be reserved two hours in advance if you call them), tables, bar-style seating upstairs, and most importantly, comfy couches!! * LAPTOP FRIENDLINESS: No restrictions BOTTOM LINE: I can't believe I almost missed out on this gem. I'll be back soon!

Unfortunately, this visit was one disappointment after another. We arrived at 8:30 a.m. hoping for a peaceful coffee-and-breakfast morning. Instead, we accidentally wandered into what felt like a Janis Joplin tribute concert. The music was blasting at nightclub volume--not exactly the relaxing start to the day we had in mind. But surprisingly... that wasn't even the worst part. The food was incredibly disappointing. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and the potatoes were still raw--hard enough to remind me they were once part of the ground.. My husband ordered the French toast, which looked suspiciously like it took a quick detour from Trader Joe's frozen aisle before landing on our table. There's nothing wrong with frozen French toast... unless you're charging $14 and calling it brunch. Another friend ordered the granola with berries. After a few bites, he gave it a skeptical look, pushed the bowl away, and decided breakfast simply wasn't worth the gamble. The coffee was decent , but honestly wasn't worth fighting the neighbors for a parking spot!

We had stopped by one morning after doing some research looking for the best coffee in the Anaheim/Disney area. We were greeted and had our order taken by a woman named Erica (sorry if that is the incorrect spelling). When I visit a new coffee shop I'll often let the employee pick my drink, who else would know what is the best thing at a place aside from the employees. I did that here and she had picked I believe the salted caramel iced latte, with my chosen dairy being whole milk. I would consider myself to be someone who can appreciate a good coffee, and when I tell you I was blown away, that would be an understatement. I was not expecting it to be bad, I just was not expecting it to be that good. The wife got the kyoto cold brew, which was also excellent. Before leaving Erica told me I should try my drink with oat milk instead of whole, as she thought it made it even better. I absolutely made it a point to stop by the next morning to order it as suggested. She was working and had remembered and was excited to see us again. We ordered it the way she suggested and it was in fact even better than the past one which I already thought was exceptional. I highly recommend ordering the salted caramel iced latte w oat milk. Top 5 possibly top 3 coffee drinks I have ever had. I can't wait till the next time we are in California so I can stop by and grab another. The spot itself was very clean, comfortable, and well kept. Prices were about average for boutique coffee shops so no complaints there. I want to give a huge shoutout to Erica, for the incredible help, the extremely friendly attitude, remembering us, and most importantly the top notch recommendations. Give her a raise/promotion immediately. Only thing I wish was that I grabbed a bag of beans to take home with me to make some espresso with.
