I'm not usually a fan of matcha things but everyone's beautiful photos and rave reviews for Double 3's Strawberry Matcha prompted me to give it another try. The shop itself is super cute! Small, but very nicely arranged and clean. The decor is breezy and gives it a beachy vibe. I came in during a lull since I was the only customer, so my order was quick and easy to place and came up just as fast. The guy working was friendly and welcoming. So all my fellow Yelpers were correct ~ the strawberry matcha not only is a gorgeous looking drink, it's very good! Not too earthy, perfectly sweetened, and the strawberry purée at the bottom completed it beautifully. Besides delicious drinks, they also serve bubble waffles with or without soft serve. Looking forward to coming back and trying those next time!

Came back recently for the delicious ice cream--caramel with caramel syrup and biscoff cookies on top. Absolutely delicious 10/10

Matcha was delicious and high quality. The Thai tea was quite disappointing however.. it seemed like the milk to tea ratio was out of balance: typically when you have a Thai tea it's a little "thicker" and not as "watered down" ),: The self-checkout is cool if it's a high volume location but it's not.. so it just seemed very impersonal ),: There was only 1 person working and we were the first inside but we still had to wait a LONG TIME to get our drinks. The seating inside is nice and very comfortable. The variety of drinks and ice cream options are nice and diverse. Might come back to try again but we will see!

Lolokoi Lemon Tea, 50% sweet, sub lychee jelly

I was looking for new dessert spots nearby and found Double 3 as an option when they first opened up. It is still fairly new so there aren't many reviews. I saw that my Yelp friend, Les S gave it a 4-star review so there was something about this place that had to be good. I got there when they had just opened at 12:30 PM and they had technical difficulties with their kiosk which took several minutes to fix. The man inside asked if I had any questions and that was it. It was extremely hot inside but I wasn't going to just leave without ordering even though it took what seemed forever to get ready. Here's what I ordered: **Lolokoi Lemon Tea: Opted to get this 50% sweet and added lychee jelly instead of their boba. I'm assuming they meant to say lilikoi since that's the name for passion fruit. I tasted ZERO passion fruit and black tea. All I tasted was lemon and it was very sour. I also had to spit out so many lemon seeds which could possibly pose as a minor choking hazard for young kids. The lychee jelly saved the drink ever so slightly but even though I got this drink half sweet, I should've been able to taste other flavors other than lemon. (1/5) **Double 3 Hokkaido Milk Soft Serve: Easily one of the best soft serves I've had in a very long time. Loved the strong hokkaido flavor. 100% recommend! (5/5) **Creamy Strawberry: Very solid scoop of strawberry ice cream. (4.5/5) It took quite a while for my order to be ready considering I was the only one in the store. They originally made my drink with boba but that was resolved quick. There were more drinks I've wanted to try fom their menu but since this drink was terrible, I'm not taking any chances especially because it's quite expensive. I would definitely come back for their hokkaido soft serve though. I would wait a few weeks to months to work on their kinks as a precaution. I can't imagine how long they will take if and when the store gets busy. It took a little too long considering I didn't order any of their bubble waffles. I would give this place a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars as of now. I'll back again in the future to see if they deserve an update.

This looks like a chain or franchise that started in Hawaii. Based on my Yelp search noticed there was a location in Whittier at the Rodeo 72 Public Market but is now closed. Not sure if it moved to this location or if this is a new business. Double 3 serves Hong Kong style bubble waffles, ice cream/soft serve, and matcha/tea drinks. You can get the ice cream in a waffle, which appears to be the most popular item here. It has few different flavors of waffles to choose from but there is an upcharge for flavored ones. The waffle-ice cream combination comes with two toppings and one syrup of choice. There's an additional cost if you get more or add any of the premium toppings and syrup. There are different flavors for ice cream vs. soft serve so be sure to check the menu board for flavor options. Some of the soft serve flavors can be combined into a two flavor swirl mix, which is also indicated on the menu. My family and I ordered a plain waffle with mint chocolate chip ice cream, topped with Pocky Sticks, Kit Kat, and a chocolate syrup. The waffle was nice and crispy on the outside and slightly soft and chewy inside. It was the perfect texture to hold the ice cream without getting too soggy. Also ordered the Double 3 Signature Matcha, which was really good. It had strong matcha flavor and subtle sweetness. It's made with a combination of regular and soy milk, cheese foam, and matcha panna cotta. Service was minimal. You order at the kiosk or ring a bell for service if you have any questions or need to pay with cash. Also note that bubble waffles are made to order so it will take a bit of time to get your order. We were the only ones in the store and it took about 10 minutes or slightly more to get our order. I can only imagine how long it would take when this place gets busy. It would also be helpful if this place had few house creations of waffle-ice cream combinations for people that don't want to take the time to make their own creation.

A new hidden gem for matcha. We tried the Oreo and the double matcha and both were amazing. I loved the little pieces of milk pudding inside the drink. Price ranges from $7.50-$8 a drink but totally worth it for the quality. You can tell from the color it's ceremonial matcha and they made it so creamy. We opted for regular sweet and it's slightly on the sweeter side so I'd get less sweet next time but it was amazing!! Oh and they waffles looked delicious too I'd give it a try next time. Definitely come check out this place.

Bubble-licious! Fist time trying this! I didn't know what to expect, we were greeted with a friendly welcome and given a quick overview of the offerings. I ordered the chocolate peanut butter bubble cone with soft serve vanilla, a Reese's cup and light caramel sauce. Both cones we ordered were delicious. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious this bubble waffle was and bonus, it's freshly made to order. The smell of the waffle cooking was enough to evoke breakfast memories when traveling and hotels offer the waffles for breakfast. :) The place is decorated nicely and was very inviting, comfortable and clean! I think I found my new fave ice cream spot! If you're in Placentia are, definitely give them a try. They also have various teas that look tasty.

It's a cute shop and as soon as you walk in youre slapped in the face with the heavenly aroma of baked goods. They do teas, matchas, and bubble waffles with ice cream. I've been here about 4 times these past few weeks for their strawberry matcha. It comes with matcha whipped cream and is delish. I get mine less sweet and it's perfect. we've had about 3 of the other teas and theyve all been great. Zero complaints here.

Soft serve chocolate with brownie and oreo

Ice cream and toppings are very delicious just a bit on the pricey side for most of the topping options. Wish I got more brownies if I have to pay extra to have it as a topping. Other than that I highly recommend trying this place out!

Came by their new location and really enjoyed it. Got the matcha cocoa and it had a perfect sweetness with a nice strong matcha flavor. Also tried the ube & oreo soft serve and it was really good! We used to go to their Whittier spot for the ice cream, so when we heard they moved here and added drinks, we had to check it out. Glad we did! Service was great and really enjoyed the whole vibe. We'll definitely be back!

I'm glad there is a new dessert/tea place in town. Double 3 has something for everyone! I got ice cream with whipped cream and brownie pieces. Quality and presentation of the dessert was excellent. The decor of Double 3 is really cute and relaxing. I will definitely come back for a refreshing drink/dessert!

Oh wow!!! This place is so fun with delicious treats! The bubble waffles are very yummy and have great texture and the ice cream with toppings make it a great combo. I am definitely coming back. Looks like they opened this shop with others after great success in Honolulu, Hawaii. What a treat for this area!!! Service is great. Be patient for something so crafty and eye popping! Five stars!

The Triple chocolate ice cream was really good, but the bubble cone was over rated. A good old fashioned waffle cone would be 5 stars.

The written menu advertises nondairy milk and ingredient modifications, but the kiosk doesn't actually let you select any of them. Staff told us to put substitutions in "special comments" and promised they'd be honored. They weren't- on a single order, twice. We ordered two coffees (oat milk, whole milk) and two customized breakfast burritos. It took 40 minutes. We were the only customers in the cafe. When the food came out, nothing was labeled / not the drinks, not the burritos- and staff couldn't tell us which was which. When I explained that one of us has a dairy allergy and asked them to identify the allergen-free items, I got a blank stare. We opened both burritos: both had cheese, despite my explicit no-cheese request. Their solution? "Can you pick it out?" No. You cannot pick out melted cheese from an allergen order. I was not offered a fresh burrito, just another blank stare until I specifically stated "I need you to remake this with the proper ingredients and confirm what you put in." Once again the burrito came out with no label, and when I asked for clarity on what was in it I was again met me with a blank stare. My partner's burrito was also wrong (pico she'd asked to have removed), but by then the 40-minute wait had made her late for work. When I asked for a refund on her incorrect meal, I was told they couldn't refund it "because she left." When I asked to leave written feedback: "we don't accept written feedback." Manager? Not in. Manager's phone number? Don't have it. But here's what pushed this from bad service to abominable: there is no way to hold this place accountable. At no point did anyone acknowledge a mistake had been made or make any real attempt to fix it- every wrong order was met with a shrug and the expectation that I'd just live with it. When I asked to leave written feedback, I was told they don't accept it. When I asked for the manager, they weren't in. When I asked for a manager's phone number or someone to contact, the employee "didn't have access to that." A business that serves people with food allergies MUST have a way for customers to flag problems in real time and reach management. This place has built a system where mistakes can't be reported, refunds can't be issued, and no one is responsible for anything. To be clear, this isn't on the line staff - one employee clearly hadn't been given the language support or training to succeed, and that's a management failure. The other younger employee was just incompetent and unhelpful, even though she was clearly aware of the requests. If you advertise allergen accommodations, you have to execute them, label them, and answer for it when you don't. Until this place fixes its ordering system, its labeling, and its total lack of accountability, spend your money literally anywhere else.

I know The Alley is known to have sweet drinks so I went in knowing that. My drink was on the sweeter side but I completely understand since they use syrups but it wasn't overpowering. The green tea base was quite good especially for a boba spot. The boba itself had the perfect texture - slighty chewy and slightly firm. I don't order boba too often anymore but if I'm craving it and I'm at the Brea Mall, I'd definitely give them another shot in the near future.

This place has a very classic flavor of boba milk tea that I expect from boba... the assam black milk tea tastes like how I expect a milk tea to taste: a delightful melange of creamy milk and mysteriously smoky tea, all rounded out with the straightforward sweetness I like in a milk tea... You can order ahead on qr code posted outside, and come back later to pick it up. It's what I tend to do (I browse the uniqlo next door in the meantime). One more thing, and perhaps most importantly for a certain subset of the mall-walking population: ALL THE TEA IS UNCOMPROMISINGLY DAIRY FREE! No need to run to the restroom all of a sudden!
