Bottom Line Up Front: Better Buzz is a Southern California coffee chain that delivers delicious beverages, excellent customer service, and an overall experience that makes it feel like a mom-and-pop shop. The Drinks: I got the Best Drink Ever. That's not an exaggeration, that's literally the name of the coffee. It's a classic americano with creamy vanilla. Does that make it the best ever? No, but it was tasty ... though, I ordered half sweet and it was still more sugary than expected. Since I ordered it hot, I saved half in the fridge and then served it on ice later to dilute the sweetness. My wife got an iced White Chocolate Mocha, which was delicious. She also got it half sweet and it was well balanced, perhaps because it was already iced. The Service: I've been here a few times and the staff is always super friendly, very knowledgable, and quite accommodating. Unlike other places where it can be hit and miss or straight-up incompetent, Better Buzz always has, well, better service. Props to the management for proper training and good judgement when hiring. The App: Despite being a regional chain, Better Buzz has a superior mobile app than many international companies. It's simple to use, easy to read, and even provides me with random coupons, deals, and even a free drink from time to time. The Prices: While the cost of coffee has skyrockted everywhere since the pandemic, the prices here aren't exorbitant. Cheap? No. But also not a ripoff. In a world where a "fancy" coffee is now $8, but it's a relief to see at least one brand keeping regular-sized drinks around the $5-to-$6 range. The Location: This particular shop is easy to access off of Imperial Highway, but only if you're going westbound, as it's an easy right turn. However, if you're going eastbound, you'll have to turn left across three lanes of busy traffic to access the entrance to the plaza where Better Buzz is located. The same problem exists when leaving the plaza. Fortunately, there's plenty of parking throughout this commercial strip mall. The Setting: The interior is clean, well organized, and nicely decorated with just the right amount of decor. There are plenty of tables to choose from and the seats are comfortable. The Conclusion: Unlike a certain Seattle-based franchise, Better Buzz is a local chain that offers great drinks at reasonable prices with excellent customer service that doesn't make you feel like just another number. read more

I really wanted to like this place because I always try to support new local businesses, and the shop itself is clean and inviting. Unfortunately, my experience with the coffee wasn't great. The first drink was very bitter, so I asked for it to be remade. It was still not good the second time. When I mentioned the taste, the response was to add a lot of caramel rather than address the issue. I understand that in any busy coffee shop, mistakes can happen especially when thousands of drinks are made every day. That's completely normal. What made the experience disappointing was how it was handled. The staff seemed visibly annoyed, and there wasn't really an effort to offer another solution even though the shop wasn't busy. In the end, I gave my $8 best drink ever coffe back to the employees and didn't finish it, and there was no offer to make it right despite it being clear I wasn't satisfied. I pass by Better Buzz so often, yet it took me until my last visit to come through here. I did not know what to expect visiting Better Buzz, but it turned out to be a pretty nice coffee shop. I was really wanted to try their iced Horchata Latte, as I really enjoyed a drink similar from another coffee shop. Well, it was pretty good, but the other chain was better. It was not bad, just wasn't as creamy and cinnamon-y like the ones I've had. So I will say that their Horchata Latte is a lighter version of this drink. They do give a pretty heavy scoop of ice, which I was like I should've told them less, but it didn't make it taste any less horchata-y. Counter service was okay, though the staff was just talking with one another and guy I ordered my drink with almost missed my espresso shot in my drink, until his other co-worker told him my drink includes a shot. Thanks for catching that guy #2! One thing I did appreciate this coffee shop is that they have good seating space. I would return just for that. Weeks of consistently long lines at drive-through finally lured me inside. Big mistake. The interior is industrial-chic -- polished concrete, metal, wood -- the aesthetic equivalent of a warm welcome that turns out to be completely hollow. I stood at the counter waiting to be served, for what felt like a small geological era until the sole visible employee turned around, fixed me with the stare of someone deeply inconvenienced, and delivered her masterpiece: "I'm on break." A second employee -- heroically running the drive-through solo -- eventually rescued me with an Americano. A proper Americano should arrive bold but balanced -- crema intact, aromas of dark chocolate or light fruit rising from the cup, a smooth finish with no charred bitterness, pulled at the right temperature so you can actually taste the shot instead of just surviving it. Better Buzz's version was warm, dark, and wet. Technically coffee. The service made it taste worse by association. For me, Reborn Coffee by the Whole Foods remains the standard -- on the cup and the hospitality. Better Buzz has the look, the lines, and the location. What it's missing is the soul. Maybe that was on break too. I'll be charitable and give it one star. Meh. read more

For my drink, I ordered the gingerbread coffee, and it may honestly be one of the best coffees I've ever had. It was light, festive, and perfectly "Christmasy," with great overall flavor and just the right balance -- not overly milky or heavy with cream. The service was excellent across the board. The staff taking orders ahead of the menu and in the drive-through were courteous, friendly, and very helpful. The music is loud, but it's energetic in a way that complements the tone this Better Buzz is going for: bright, caffeinated, and comfortable. The staff is patient and helpful when explaining menu items, and they'll call out your name when your order is ready. *Best Drink Ever (iced): I had their classic vanilla iced coffee. It was delicious, and for me, was the perfect amount of sweetness while still letting the vanilla flavor come through. *Deluxe Avocado Toast: The deluxe avocado toast comes on multigrain bread and includes cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, microgreens, with a balasmic glaze drizzled on top. You can add bacon or a boiled egg for additional cost. The toast was warm, delicious, and surprisingly filling. I plan to try more of their menu and add this cafe to my rotation of study spots. Seems to be a popular site so we went there for coffee. 9 am on Saturday morning and there wasn't much wait inside but drive thru was busy. We ordered two drip coffees but literally had to wait and ask for our coffees for 10 minutes and I think it's because we didn't tip for ordering two drips and the coffee urns were right behind the cashier and after we asked for our coffees after 10 minutes, she reluctantly turned around and poured them for us. Attended the invitation only Friends and Family event on 11/20/25. Located in Placentia where Chuck E Cheese is located. (Took over the Carls Jr spot). Great event with a wonderful and very cheery staff that handled the crowd really well. There was definitely a positive buzz going on! Employees were cheering and was very accommodating... all done with smiles! Unfortunately some people misunderstood this to be the grand opening but it's not until tomorrow. They tried to accommodate some who weren't on the list but had to turn people away at 11am to get ready for the next time slot but were very nice about it. It comes with greens, ripe cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, and a balsamic drizzle. My barista (who was super friendly) recommended I add the hard boiled egg. Great choice. I love that the bread has a deliciously crunchy crust with a softly toasted center. This location is along busy Imperial Highway, in a stand alone building with great drive thru access. We went on their Grand Opening Day and decided to go through the drive thru so this review is only for that experience, and not their dine-in. I ordered a "Coconut Best Drink Ever" and the drink was yummy but definitely on the sweeter side of how I usually drink my coffee. Their festive holiday cups were also cute. It was very apparent it was their first day as service was not ideal. While in the drive thru, a worker was standing outside ready to take our order, but he hadn't even presented us with a menu. It was odd how they take your order before you get to the menu, but they don't even present you with a menu until you ask. The individual wasn't familiar with the items on the menu as he kept checking with the team for what items were available. The whole interaction seemed very confusing, but given that it was their grand opening, I wouldn't fault them for it (hence 4 stars for the coffee and because I like how there looks to be spacious indoor seating and a drive thru).
