I pass by Better Buzz so often, yet it took me until my last visit to come through here. I did not know what to expect visiting Better Buzz, but it turned out to be a pretty nice coffee shop. I was really wanted to try their iced Horchata Latte, as I really enjoyed a drink similar from another coffee shop. Well, it was pretty good, but the other chain was better. It was not bad, just wasn't as creamy and cinnamon-y like the ones I've had. So I will say that their Horchata Latte is a lighter version of this drink. They do give a pretty heavy scoop of ice, which I was like I should've told them less, but it didn't make it taste any less horchata-y. Counter service was okay, though the staff was just talking with one another and guy I ordered my drink with almost missed my espresso shot in my drink, until his other co-worker told him my drink includes a shot. Thanks for catching that guy #2! One thing I did appreciate this coffee shop is that they have good seating space. I would return just for that. I had a really great experience at Better Buzz Coffee Roasters. I tried the orange raspberry scone, which tasted fantastic even without being warmed up -- though I can only imagine how wonderful it would be warm. The flavors were bright, fresh, and well balanced. For my drink, I ordered the gingerbread coffee, and it may honestly be one of the best coffees I've ever had. It was light, festive, and perfectly "Christmasy," with great overall flavor and just the right balance -- not overly milky or heavy with cream. The service was excellent across the board. The staff taking orders ahead of the menu and in the drive-through were courteous, friendly, and very helpful. Inside, the team was quick, efficient, and genuinely nice, which made the whole experience even better. New coffee shop in Placentia with a drive thru - especially helpful for parents and not having to take kids out of the car seat! There was a short drive-thru line on a Thursday morning, so we decided to head inside instead. With just one person ahead of us, we were helped right away. Ordered a hot Best Drink Ever ($5.79) and the Horchata Iced Latte ($6.59) which were both were ready in under five minutes. Unfortunately, the coffee itself fell a bit flat - both drinks tasted somewhat watery and lacked strong flavor. I'll give it another try in a few weeks, especially since the vanilla bean latte caught my eye. Hopefully the coffee flavor improves next time. Originating from San Diego, Better Buzz Coffee has opened another location here in OC! While there's already a location in Fullerton, I've only been to the SD spots before. I'm happy to see that this new coffee spot has been thriving during its opening week. From the moment you walk in, the entire team behind the counter cheerfully greets you. When you leave, you'll hear choruses of "Have a bee-autiful day!" and other fun bee puns. The woman working the drive-thru also had on this incredibly cute bee hat. Staff members worked efficiently like they've been doing this for years, and were attentive to maintaining the sitting areas too which I appreciate. I arrived on a Saturday morning and worked here for several hours. The line inside stayed consistently long, but the space never felt overcrowded thanks to the open layout. The music is loud, but it's energetic in a way that complements the tone this Better Buzz is going for: bright, caffeinated, and comfortable. The staff is patient and helpful when explaining menu items, and they'll call out your name when your order is ready. *Best Drink Ever (iced): I had their classic vanilla iced coffee. It was delicious, and for me, was the perfect amount of sweetness while still letting the vanilla flavor come through. *Deluxe Avocado Toast: The deluxe avocado toast comes on multigrain bread and includes cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, microgreens, with a balasmic glaze drizzled on top. You can add bacon or a boiled egg for additional cost. The toast was warm, delicious, and surprisingly filling. I plan to try more of their menu and add this cafe to my rotation of study spots. There is plenty of parking, and they do have a drive-thru. Inside, there's wifi, ample outlets, and comfortable seating from cushioned booths to high stools to a couch right in the middle. They also have bathrooms that are well-maintained and continue the bee-theme that prevails inside and out of the cafe. Having only known about them in SD, I was so excited to learn they were also in OC. I love their Iced Honey Latte. It always hits the spot. I ordered the Deluxe Avocado Toast. It comes with greens, ripe cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, and a balsamic drizzle. My barista (who was super friendly) recommended I add the hard boiled egg. Great choice. I love that the bread has a deliciously crunchy crust with a softly toasted center. This location is along busy Imperial Highway, in a stand alone building with great drive thru access. Not all Better Buzzes have a drive-thr, so it was nice to grab my drink and food on my way to shopping. Looking forward to stopping by again. read more

Attended the invitation only Friends and Family event on 11/20/25. Located in Placentia where Chuck E Cheese is located. (Took over the Carls Jr spot). Employees were cheering and was very accommodating... all done with smiles! Unfortunately some people misunderstood this to be the grand opening but it's not until tomorrow. Excited to see a new coffee shop in the North OC area, especially one with a good amount of indoor seating, and a drive thru! We went on their Grand Opening Day and decided to go through the drive thru so this review is only for that experience, and not their dine-in. I ordered a "Coconut Best Drink Ever" and the drink was yummy but definitely on the sweeter side of how I usually drink my coffee. Their festive holiday cups were also cute. It was very apparent it was their first day as service was not ideal. While in the drive thru, a worker was standing outside ready to take our order, but he hadn't even presented us with a menu. It was odd how they take your order before you get to the menu, but they don't even present you with a menu until you ask. The individual wasn't familiar with the items on the menu as he kept checking with the team for what items were available. The whole interaction seemed very confusing, but given that it was their grand opening, I wouldn't fault them for it (hence 4 stars for the coffee and because I like how there looks to be spacious indoor seating and a drive thru). This place opened up about a month ago and is always busy. We tried them out Sunday morning. The overall quality of the drink was decent but the inside was a bit dirty. The tables have not been cleared off. They were out of napkins and warm drink sleeves. Their food labels were not correct/updated. The seasonal scone said seasonal danish...the customer service was okay. I paid close to $20 for two drinks and a scone. The scone was a bit dry, could use a dab of cream. Unfortunately, the ordering process was confusing, and as a first-time customer, I felt rushed when asking for recommendations. I ordered a Hazelnut Divinity, the "Best Drink Ever," and a kids' vanilla steamed milk. The Hazelnut Divinity was very good, but the other two drinks were disappointing--no sweetness and no flavor. I drove by this cute coffee shop recently and thought- that's cute. I need to try that place. I came in and was the only person in line and was not greeted by anyone. Ok- no biggie. I know things get busy. Then I waited at least 8 minutes for my order to be taken. I've now waited 10 minutes for my drink and a drink from the people who ordered after me has been made. I started this while still inside. It's seems people are cleaning up and restocking and no one has made a drink for about 4 minutes. It also pretty warm inside. I'm still waiting for my drink. Only one more drink has been made while I've been waiting. This has been a disappointing first time. Second drink of the order after me is now done and two more drinks of the people who ordered after me were made before mine. It took about 12 minutes to get my drink made. Tonight (December 12) is the 3rd time I've been to this place and the 2nd time I've been disappointed... The first time we went here we drove through, and everything was fine. I'm not even going to try and act like I didn't like the coffee because truly it was delicious but unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. The second time I went here was December 7 and the drive-thru line was about 15 cars long, so I parked and went inside. There was a small line, but I definitely didn't think that it would take as long as it did. There was only 3 or 4 parties in front of me, I waited for (what seemed like) about 10 minutes and ended up walking out because they still hadn't even helped the person in front of me yet. Tonight I drove thru, it was about 40 minutes before closing, I was the only car in the drive-thru. I pulled up and ordered a cold brew (plain cold brew in a cup, no ice) when I got up to the window to pay, they charged me exactly 1 dollar more than the price on the menu. I almost asked why it was more, but I wanted to make sure that I read the menu right. (I went back later that night, and looked at the menu that is outside of the building) and yes, I was correct. I was charged exactly 1 dollar more than the price on the menu. I also looked at some pictures on Yelp of the menus that are inside the restaurant, and it states the exact same thing. This is not about the dollar, I could care less about the dollar, I would not have taken the dollar back in that moment if they would babe offered me the dollar back (and I also tipped on my order) but questioning, the price is about the point. Customers should not be overcharged in any capacity. If something is $4.99 on the menu, we should be charged $4.99. I didn't have time in the moment to turn around and go back so I called. The employee who answered the phone was so incredibly condescending and rude. I asked if they charge more for the drink if someone doesn't order ice (I could maybe understand that because without ice you are getting more product) but she said no it's the same price so I said well I just drove through and I was charged one dollar more than what is on the menu and I even told her, it's not about the dollar it's about the point! Don't advertise a price and then over charge people, that is not right. She could NOT have cared less.. she started making excuses about how all of the cold brews are different, and said "I don't know what you ordered (even-though I already stated i ordered a plain cold brew, no cold foam, no sweeteners, no ice, nothing added, i the smallest size I was offered. I then asked "what is the cold brew that's on your menu for $4.99?" and her response was "all of the cold brews are different" and again I reiterate, "well what is a plain cold brew then?" She was annoyed and I could hear it in her voice. She was wanting to get off the phone, but didn't offer me an explanation or a solution. If I was her, as an employee I would want to make it right. I would also want to figure out why it happened, and would even go as far as taking a look at the menu myself and maybe even entering a "cold brew" into the system, and see what the price comes up in the register... Maybe it's entered wrong? But, like I said, she could care less and her condescending, disrespectful attitude spoke volumes. I don't know how many items this place sells each day, but if they are overcharging on even a few items, that can really add up quickly. read more
