Do I feel that my ability is compromised, that time has dulled my memories, that my senses look fondly upon a place I would not view with such appreciation should I cross the threshold today, simply because I have not eaten at Beth's in over a decade? No, but yes, but no! Founded in 1954? The Yelp was not. I was not. But Beth's was! And then I was, and then the Internet, and then the Yelp. So I have no qualms about remembering Beth's as Beth's is. Before the fire of '98, after the fire of '98, always with good, good food. Food for the soul, weary with the crises of the young at 4am. Food for the body, battered by substances foreign and domestic. Good for the memories, fond reflections still cherished. Good like home. Good like family. Good like Beth's. read more

Went there on my 25th birthday breakfast....it was amazing!!! I'm from Kansas and this place made me miss the Midwest :( you might even see my drawing by the front door of a birthday cake! :) I would eat there again next time I'm in Seattle read more

Overall: Negative, if you aren't LGBT, they may scoff at you. Cons: Portions are large to make up for the generic-ness of the menu. Nothing special here. Food is comparable to Denny's, but just more money and more quantity. They 'forgot' a bunch of items I asked for. They wouldn't even look at me, and only looked at my girlfriend, who they actually started hitting on her in front of me (a lesbian waitress who had enough tattoos and piercing to not have much of her body visible anymore). They were extremely rude. I actually had to run across the street to grab an orange juice because the service was so bad. (7-11 is very nice though) Pros: Pictures everywhere are cute and funny. Portions are very large. Booths are favorable to large groups of people. Bottom Line: If you are you mindlessly drunk and want a ton of food, and are nearby, go ahead. I'm sure it would've been a better experience if I was gay and/or drunk out of my mind. I have nothing against the LGBT community, just don't want their waitstaff seeking romance with my girlfriend while I'm having a private conversation over biscuits and gravy. Super trashy. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. 45 minutes for a baked potato!! Not an apology from the waitress (who corrected me on the time we'd been waiting...I'd estimated 35 minutes), nothing. When she brought the food, she simply asked, "do you want anything else?". This is the worst service I've ever had, and the food is not worth the wait. I will NEVER go here again. read more

The staff is incredible. There's a good reason this place stays super busy. If there is a wait, it's definitely worth it. All of the food here has been beyond awesome. I love their toast? I always come here after concerts and never regret it. read more

Nasty service. We asked to pay separately, they responded "it'll make it harder but whatever." Not friendly.

The hostess told us the wait wouldn't be long and said 15 minutes at most. We waited for 30 minutes outside before we left. Terrible service. read more

The food here is truly terrible. I'm not sure how anyone would think otherwise. I hadn't been in here in about 15+ years, but it seems unchanged by time, and perhaps rarely cleaned in the interim. The best thing about this place is that they're open at all hours, if you NEED FOOD at an ungodly hour, as I did. I like the funky vibe here, as well, and they do sling it out fast. Service was fine. But for what it was, I thought the prices were what you would find at a much better restaurant. So this is lousy food and it's not cheap either. I really regretted the decision. Should have gone home and had Cup O' Noodles after all. Whatever kind of oil they're cooking their eggs, hash browns, and most other foods in is quite nasty-tasting. Perhaps one of those blends that has coconut oil added. It tastes that way. At home I would cook this stuff in butter. It makes a HUGE difference in flavor. This would be difficult in a restaurant setting, but surely there's something better. Everything here just tastes like the appalling cooking oil they use. I love hash browns, but these were limp, soggy, little color on them from having been browned. More a half-cooked beige. Not how hash browns should be done. But I hear you can have all you want? Thanks! I guess they know their customers are mostly drunk, stoned or just not very particular, but still, they really should step it up a few notches here. read more

They'd have gotten 5 if they had hoodies, not just t-shirts! Freezing here, lost my jacket! The omelette was stellar, jam heavenly, and the hash browns straight up perfect. My server rocked too, this Seattle standard knows how to butter the bread! Now if only they would remember Seattlites wear hoodies year round, and that's advertising walking around!!! read more

Seriously great food and excellent customer service! Longer wait times when its super busy but you can use that time to make a crayon masterpiece with the paper and crayons they provide. I absolutely love the biscuits and gravy with eggs and the pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream AND THEY DELIVER! So far I've only found them on BiteSquad delivering from 3pm-10pm even though they're open 24 hours. read more

Limited parking on the street but there is a small back parking lot. The restaurant isn't the neatest the four times I've been there so far but I don't ever feel like I'm sitting in a mess. Service is alright and the food is alright too. It's a good place to go for a late night get together but otherwise it's a pretty long wait. read more

Everything you could ever want in a greasy spoon. Be sure to wear pants that have a bit of stretch to the waistband.

Really bad disgusting service. Think again if you want some food you can cook up by yourself. We ordered specifically for a breakfast burrito that only has over easy eggs, cheddar cheese, tater tots. She came back with our food but she completely messed it all up. She was pissed off about it blaming it on us. But we have specifically said we only want that inside the burrito. We didnt even hear an apology from that stuck up girl. Then she continued on talking to her coworker about it in front of us and her coworker told her that it isnt in the menu. The girl agreed and we told her that we get that food all the time. The coworker called on us "bullshit". Maybe dont work when you are in a bad mood? Just a tip. Your food doesnt even taste that good. What a shame. I can cook this better than them if I wasn't too hungry. read more

The food is extraordinary, and the service not bad either. Great hash browns, perfectly cooked bacon and excellent home made biscuits. Huge servings. And they had jasmine tea - two bags with my order. That never happens. Servings are giant. We were placed right away. It's pretty close to 5 stars, but misses on things it can't deliver, and you shouldn't expect to deliver either. This is a diner, and the food is killer. But don't expect fancy, updated seating, building, anything like that. Would I go again - Yes. Especially if I'm extra hungry. read more

I love going here and grabbing breakfast. I like crayons and drawing. This place makes my morning awesome no matter how much I drank last night. :) read more

A true hole in wall diner that serves fantastic food with huge portions. The Amish bread is delicious.

I go to Beth's a couple times a month. I always order the bacon and eggs breakfast with an extra egg. The food has always been excellent. I don't get a lot of the negative remarks regarding the staff, however. I've always found them to be friendly, attentive and courteous. I've yet to be disappointed. read more

beth's awesomeness starts with the kick ass soundtrack which includes whatever the box blasts. when you ere lucky it is black flag and dinosaur jr. .... when you are spit outta luck you get blink 182 or face2face....... bring earplugs, just in case. The place is full of great coloring pics ll over, showcasing years of local talent from artists as young as rugrats and as old as.... well.... as old as me..... the 6 egg omelettes are bigger than your head, and the 12 egg omelettes are bigger than your butt. eat them daily and you can change that, especially the latter. They come with all you can eat hash browns. good luck with that. i have yet to finish one order, let alone potato refills.... extra charge for add ins on the eggs, which you should definitely invest in. read more

MMMM it is ok, i like the extended hours here and the food is ok. You can be waiting awhile to get in some late nights and it is kinda dirty and hard to find a place to park. The 12 egg Omelet is fun to share with another person but, it is not a place I crave. read more

It's a good thing I live out of state or else I would be eating here all the time. Place is super grungy and questionable, but the food is sooooo gooooood. Omelets are on point, cinnamon roll is huge and tasty. Service I had was really friendly. Bummer that last time I was in Seattle was one of the four times a year the restaurant closes. Next time... read more

It was OK. I mean, way better than dennys or Ihop but I've had better. There a childrens crayon scribbled drawings all over the walls which is very tasteful. read more

Simply delicious, greasy, homemade diner food. I'm super picky about diner food, since I'm from New Jersey, and I was definitely impressed! Plus the pictures on the walls are worth a trip. read more

I keep coming back because I've had some epic omelets, but the last 5 or so times the omelets have been funny.... the kind of funny where 3 bites in a row are all sour cream or another ingredient. It just needs to be spread out a little better... sour cream bites are kinda gross. I've even tried mentioning it a couple of times in advance of my order, but it doesn't seem to change the result. Chop it up into a scramble I guess?! read more

So I'd been hearing about Beth's for years before I actually made it in, and I thought it must be legendary so I grabbed some friends and made a visit. The interior is underwhelming, kinda beat-up and definitely an old-school diner. The customer drawn pictures covering the walls are interesting to look at, but it's their best-of wall of drawings, behind the cash register, that blew me away. Those were a sight to see. It was fun to doodle while waiting for our food to come out and after we were done eating. It was hard to decide what to order because everything looked so good! The portions are gigantic!! MASSIVE. And they provide unlimited hash browns!! Holy crap! I stuffed myself with greasy diner food. The thought that kept running through my mind was, "If I was drunk right now, this would be heaven!" I would definitely go back, but since I'm kind of a clean freak, I will bring along some hand sanitizer. The place just looked a little grimy to me. There was no discernible filth on my utensils, plates, or cups, but the vibe of the place just felt a bit grungy. Great that they're open 24/7...lord knows Seattle doesn't have enough 24/7 establishments. read more

I personally love the hype about Beth's Cafe. It's true, they serve many drunks especially during the night hours and when the clubs close for the night but I am in love with their hash browns. I don't mind the wait, I don't think I've ever been waiting for longer than half an hour. In order to have the best experience here come spontaneously in the middle of the night with a couple of good friends and share a 12 egg-omelet. Unlimited hash browns, lovely company and interesting drawings. Yum. read more

Beth's is a little hole in the wall cafe. But the food wasn't bad and being able to draw and put your art up on the walls was pretty cool. It was a unique place to eat. read more

Hashbrowns and hot cocoa at 4 am, while your friend with a vegan roommate rebels by ordering a huge omlette. Priceless. I've never found the service to be bad. I'd be sassy too if I was serving pancakes to drunk people all night. Then again, I make Beth's the rare exception, not the rule, of where I hang out. read more

Not too impressed. Super large portions, regular breakfast food and worn furniture. A very grunge atmosphere where everyone is in black garb. read more

From what I hear, Beth's is a well known place to grab some greasy food late at night. So that's exactly what my friends and I did. Unluckily for us, we happened to go there on what our server described as their "busiest night of the year so far." Keep in mind it was a random Saturday, not a holiday or any day that would make you expect more people. Which resulted in us waiting an hour to get seated and an hour to get our food. Needless to say, when we didn't get home until 4 am I was exhausted. The food was very very average considering all the hype surrounding this place. I'd just say, if you have to go out of your way to get here and it's really late at night, don't bother. read more

Its 3am, Food and service is usually non-existent at this time. NOT HERE!! Amazing place, food, atmosphere and did I mention the food!!

I'm here just about everyday. I love the staff as well as the constant change in atmosphere throughout the day. Beth's is not everyone's cup of tea (but the never ending cups of coffee sure makes up for it!!) It's important to know that Beth's can become extremely busy in a matter of minutes on weekends and at night; the music is louder, the servers are less personal (due to the rush) and the type of people visiting are a bit more diverse (for lack of a better word). Basically, the nights and weekends are for those of you who are not in a huge rush and just want to hangout and have a good time. And for those of you who prefer the more personal, quiet meals, visit anytime during a weekday. I spend several hours around 2pm working on homework, surfing the web (free wifi), listening to music, drawing, taping things to the wall and chatting with the staff. It's very nice and relaxing. Over all the food is a bit greasy but still great! The people are always interesting to watch. And the different pictures along the walls inspire the child in you. If you have plans to visit (its awesome here) please do, just come in with an open mind and in a time where the atmosphere best suits you. read more

Man, this place rules! Had the corned beef hash & eggs. Greasy-spoon-erriffic! The coffee was nothing to write home about, but then again, what were you expecting? Gourmet coffee? Not in this dive! I got to sit at the counter, watching the seedy underbelly of the food service industry unfold before me, while servers rushed by refilling coffee and dishes clinked in the back (my server went by the moniker of "Meow-head"). The fry cook is amazing, I have never seen someone cook and plate orders so fast (apparently there was a large group of teens from Canada, and the cook and a server expressed amusement that they spoke English so fluently). The hash browns were perfectly crispy, eggs were cooked just right, and even the toast was spot on. I don't think I will have to eat again for the rest of the day now. Or possibly the rest of the week. read more

It's BETHS motherfather. ENOUGH SAID. If you don't know then you need to get your life together.

Well, I'd seen the Man Vs Food episode with Beth's Cafe @ Greenlake... as well as in the "1,000 Places to Eat/Go before you die" It was Sunday morning-ish and we where all STARVING... so we made the treck from Lake Stevens To Greenlake... Stood in line for about 45 minutes wating for a table... (party of 6), got seated, ordered... and then just stuffed our faces. FOOD COMA. We got a 12 Egg omlet for the table to split, an order of Biscuts & gravy, my friend and I got a chicken fried steak to split... we all decided it was a food buffet and shared everything with everyone at the table. WOW. We are big eaters, we where STARVING, and we still walked out of Beths with TWO doggie bags! The unlimited hash browns when you order the 12 egg omlet is THE BEST PART... as their's are cooked to perfection! Ask for the bacon extra crispy and it's perfect every time! :) IF you have room after all of that, take the time to get an order of Amish freindship bread... :) Service is swift, curtious and very good! read more

Beth's Cafe - Front :) - American Near Me - Seattle, Washington

See all

Not a very enjoyable atmosphere, and not the best place to bring the kids. Employees with cuss words in large bolded font on their shirts. In terms of the food, I got the sampler which was very average. The gravy was under-seasoned, and the biscuits were not very soft, although I will say the portions are pretty decent for the price. read more

Well, I've been there a couple times....sometimes you got to wait, but that's ok. The foods ok too, nothing to great or grand. I'm just really picky. I don't like that their gravy isn't that flavorful, kinda plain; and their Mondo Burger has really no distinct flavour, like Cyndy's burgers, I think they have they have the best burgers in Seattle. Overall it's ok. read more

Love it. Food is average but makes up for it with attitude and entertainment.

After reading some of the reviews on here i had to chime in for the sake of the decade i spent smoking cigarettes (smoking ban :'( #neverforget), eating their hearty food and drinking coffee at this diner. Straight up: if you want to check this place out because ONE TIME on the food network, some asshole who makes Pauly D's haircut look bad told you to. You might want to turn around and check your ass back in to South Lake Union or your local Bellevue Red Robin or whatever your current "steez" is. Beths cafe is a DINER that is grimy, has attitude in their customer service and plays their music too loud..All the things that i love about Beth;s that i will keep in my memories till i am old and dead are the exact things that people are complaining about on here. read more

Decor is a bit drab. Coffee is a tiddie bit bland. I can't wait to sample the food, since the review for food is so good. Out with the wife and youngest kid. Hot chocolate in a paper cup, are you for real? read more
