Really loved the atmosphere. It was laid-back lots of TVs. The owner came over and ask what sporting venue we would like to watch. It was hockey everywhere and we really enjoy hockey. There were four of us and we split the sampler poutine platter. it was more than enough for all four of us. My daughter and her friend also ordered the onion rings. The beer batter was crispy. The food sounds awesome on the tasting menus for that. The nachos are not one of the things to be excited about. It just felt like there was a lack of love here. The chips themselves are burnt like they spent a little too long under a broiler. There's some strange goopy cheese sauce that is reminiscent of movie theater cheese, and everything else feels like it came out of a can. It's not a huge problem, I feel like this can be easily fixed. Nachos don't have to be a wonderful experience, but instead just a passable appetizer in a bar that otherwise has fantastic amenities and a lovable atmosphere. As someone with Celiac disease, I was incredibly impressed with how seriously the owner takes gluten-free dining. He made sure I felt comfortable and safe eating there. The bartenders were also incredibly kind and welcoming. The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for watching sports or hanging out with friends. Most, if not all, of the menu is gluten-free, which feels like a dream for anyone with Celiac. And the burger was one of the best I've had in years. Look, points for effort, but the execution was terrible and maybe they should 'feature' something they're actually good at, because poutine aint it. I've had it with different toppings and variations, but none of them are particularly good. The sight lines are weird, service was spotty, and the vibe was way off. A Canadian-themed restaurant a stone's throw from Canada should have better poutine. For how long it took to come out, I was surprised to see the soggy mess that arrived. The appearance was ghastly. Impressive and surprising to see a fully gluten free kitchen! The head chef has celiac and I love that they are just letting her do her own thing! Her food is incredible! This is a great neighborhood spot and the bartenders and owner are lovely. Marnie makes the besttt cocktails so I hope you get the chance to have one of her specialties when she's behind the bar! Fun neighborhood bar located in Greenwood. This place has a great atmosphere with lots of drink options. We were disappointed by how salty the food was, but with some minor adjustments, there could be a ton of potential. Met some friends here during the week on a non-game/event day and it still ended up being quite busy the later it got. We were there early enough that we thought we'd be able to get some food in before the crowds showed up but somehow we still ended up waiting close to 45 minutes between placing the food order and getting it, and we wondered if maybe our food sat in the kitchen forgotten for a little bit, as everything was room temp by the time it got to the table. We ordered the Poutine Sampler (beef gravy, beer cheese and bacon, and sausage gravy), a couple Maple Bourbon Steak Salads, a couple Steak and Frites, and fried cheese curds, plus our drinks, and despite the poutine being room temp, it was quite good! The traditional beef gravy is hard to beat, so I'd say that was my favorite. I also enjoyed the steak salad as well, but I'd probably pass on the fried cheese curds next time (or hope that I'd get to try them before they cooled down). I'd recommend the poutine because it's not easy to find places that have so many options, but just be prepared for a wait! There was understandably a wait at the end of the evening, though it took quite a bit of effort for us to catch the attention of the staff despite them frequently passing by the tables. We ended up being there for a total of about 4 hours to accommodate the near hour waiting for food at the start plus another near hour of getting the tab closed out at the end. read more

We aren't Canadian, but love both poutine and jazz; thus, we came by on Sunday night for both. Service was great, especially considering there was only ONE person handling the entire bar and dining area. Admittedly, I have gotten used to seeing artisan-esque versions of poutine, complete with short rib in most cases, at restaurants. This ain't that; this is casual, "bar" poutine, if that's even a thing, but it is GOOD. We did a flight with classic brown gravy, curry, and beer cheese. All three were good. I was a little surprised the curry wasn't yellow like the chip shop curry sauce you find in the UK. It was good, though. The beer cheese was the best, in my opinion, and of course the classic brown gravy was also good. They had a decent selection of beer and cider on tap, as well. Drinks are spot on and affordable not overly priced and decent pours. The food is great bar food. The fish and chips were so huge and so good! The 1 pound could feed four people I couldn't even believe it. I think it was $20. I love fish and chips and this is the place to go for the value for sure. I recently went to this place hoping to try their curry poutine. After sitting in plain sight for 15 minutes with no acknowledgement, I left. The bar area was full and there was a bartender who at one point came out from the bar and asked one of the tables if they needed anything else. He didn't say anything to me or the other patrons seated at tables. He then returned behind the bar and stayed there. He didn't seem to be the friendliest sort. Maybe HE'S the "Angry Beaver"! If so, it begs the question "What's he so angry about?" People unwilling to work with him? Customers expecting him to take their orders? Not being able to drink on the job? Thankfully, this is no longer Seattle's only hockey bar (It certainly isn't its best.). Don't let the name or decor (hockey memorabilia) fool you. This isn't a dive bar. This is a fancy gastropub in disguise. We needed lunch desperately, and we walked around till we found something. The name was funny, so ok, we'll go in. Get the cheese curds. For the love of God, get the cheese curds. While I was the odd man out and ordered buffalo wings for my meal, everyone else had some of the most impressive burgers I've seen in Seattle. They were fancy, but also cooked perfectly and had just enough "other" stuff on it to be interesting, without being overwhelming. The wings were crispy and drenched in a spicy vinegary sauce. They were awesome. It's not a spendy place and won't break the bank, but there were a few errors on the menu vs. our check ($2 difference). I've been coming here consistently every week for the last year. I'm not sure I'll be coming back. Last night I had a bizarre and incredibly rude interaction with a (who I believe is a new) very aggressive bartender/server. My party was sitting in one of the back corner tables and had ordered some food and one round of drinks. We saw a table open up closer to the screen where trivia was happening so we went to move. Realizing we hadn't provided the bartender with our cards yet, and that we were waiting on food, I wanted to let the staff know we were moving tables. The bartender was next to our table, at the end of the bar, grabbing a glass. I was about 3 feet from him so it seemed appropriate to quickly let him know. This is as close to verbatim as I can remember the exchange going Me: Hey man... Him: *no acknowledgment* Me: (assuming he didn't hear me) excuse me Him: *steps closer to me, around the side of the bar as if to intimidate* WHAT MAN. WHAT IS YOUR DEAL? IM IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS Me: Oh no sorry, I was just trying to let you know... Him: WHAT. WHAT. IM FUCKING BUSY DUDE. ITS GOING TO BE A WHILE ME: CHRIST man. Just relax Him: dramatically points to the door. Signaling I'm getting kicked out I'm sure that sounds a bit dramatized but I can honestly say that's what happened. I understand that he was probably having a bad day and was stressed out. But all he needed to say was "I'm sorry I'm busy right now I can help you in a minute" instead of trying to size me up like he was going to throw hands. I'm sure he has his side of the story. Maybe he was mistaking me for someone else who had already been bugging him. No matter what, it's not okay to try to start a fight and talk like that. Anyway I ended up just going back to my table and hung out until I was able to close out my tab with the bartender who is normally there. And for what it's worth I had very pleasant exchange with her as I think she was unaware of what happened. The bartender who tried to fight me ended his shift about 10mins later and got hammered with some of his friends. Extremely bizarre.
