I purchased an open box item and trusted their excellence and attention to detail so I did not check inside the box to verify what was pictured on the front was indeed what was inside. I tried it at home and when it didn't work well I attempted to return it. I was then informed that it was a different brand that what was inside the box and told it must have been switched after purchase because they would never make that kind of mistake because they don't even sell that brand. I am not a tech guru to know brands of wires and did not switch anything after purchase. I have been shopping there for years and never had an issue but... guess there's a first time for everything. Check your boxes for open box items because it could happen to you. read more

They usually dont have new releases out on Tuesday. It's happened more than once. The last thing I came here to get was a new cd release on a Tuesday and low and behold,it was nowhere to be found.I did spot a box that looked like it was being put out over by an endcap and inside, there it was. After seeking through the new release aisle and other locations,it was hiding in the box all along waiting to be stocked late. read more

Painful. Better to do your research before you go in there. You will find that they have few clerks on the floor and folks clawing for attention, me too. And when you get to the cash register line be sure you bring lunch to eat while you wait. Register clerks want to chat endlessly with anyone with no regard to the waiting line. Unfortunately there is no competition in Redding and they can kick back and squeeze our brains while we go on our mission to buy one item. Prices not unreasonable. I bought a $100 modem to replace my Charter provided modem that I've rented from them for $5 a month for 10 years. I'm a very dumb and bitter camper. read more

Joshua H. In the cell phone area is obviously irritated with his job and maybe should look for something else to do. His attitude is horrible and his patience is very short. Bad customer service all around and literally everything I or my partner said he asked "what". read more

I purchased a tablet, keyboard, and other items with the understanding that when the keyboard went on sale I would be given the sale price. Just bring in my receipt, It did go on sale and i was refused the sale price. I will not return to Best Buy due to their misleading practices. read more

Horrible service, blatantly lie during sale. Often sell products missing pieces or already broken. Ample miscommunication. Manager is worthless. Store is worthless. "Policies" are worthless. I've never bought anything here and not had it be a huge headache. Definitely worth driving a few hours to avoid ever going to best buy again. Seriously I've spent thousands here, and i'm never going back. Every single time its a miserable experience and they don't care to fix their mistakes. read more

This past Sunday my husband and I went to Best Buy because his cell phone was completely dead. The young man who helped us at the cell phone counter was possibly new because there was an older employee standing next to him and looked like he was training him. My husband told him what was wrong and the young man told us it was possibly the battery and we would have to go to a battery store to buy one. He also told us that the battery would cost anywhere from $50 to $100 and that might not even be the problem with the phone. He warned us that it was possible we would lose all of the stored information even if the battery worked. He also told us to not go to a Verizon store because they work on commission. He told us our only choice was to buy a new phone. We said we were not able to purchase a new phone at this time. So we left and later that evening my husband picked up his phone and was looking at it and noticed a small pin hole on the side of the phone. Ummm, it looked like a RESET button. He pushed the button and guess what? His phone turned on and is working perfectly and all contacts and pictures are still there. We are done shopping at a store that either hires employees that have no idea what is going on OR is that how they train their employees? Either way they are crooked and we are done with Best Buy. Our credit card is being cancelled. read more

If online it shows that the store has some thing in stock then you should probably have it in stock. Terrible customer service. Avoid this place. read more

Geek squad has the be the worst Unknowledgeable staff ever... I have had to bring my computer in 5 times so far and they still can not get it to hook up to the internet. So angry why pay for tech support if 3 months go by and they still can not fix it! read more

I recently purchased a new tv from here. I was almost instantly greeted by one of the staff members. He was very informative in talking out my purchase with me. He was very patient with my questions and was extremely helpful! These bigger purchases can often be nerve racking, but this was my best experience yet! read more

Hit and miss. Sometimes you get help, I bought a Sony action action cam. The sales man was very helpful. I could not get it it hook up with the wi-if pass word. Took it back asked for a little help. All they wanted was to return the item. Really all I wanted was a little support, so much for anyone caring. read more

Decent Best Buy. Usually busy, but it's the only one in Redding. I should count myself lucky that there's even one here!

I am always bombarded with many offers for assistance when I go here, sometimes too often for my taste. However everyone has always been friendly to me. I feel that the staff is under trained and each time that I have come in looking for something specific I've found what I was looking for before they did. They also seem to have new employees each time I go in which speaks to the quality of work enviroment and workers. read more

I am frustrated and offended by the way I was treated at the Redding Best Buy today. I truly expected more from the Geek Squad and especially the manager!  I stopped by this afternoon to drop off my new laptop (and old one) to take advantage of the free data transfer offered by the TotalTech support package. I signed up for this when I recently purchased a new Samsung laptop (while visiting my sister in Phoenix over Thanksgiving).  I wasn't able to have the transfer done there because I left immediately after the Black Friday deal, but still purchased the TotalTech support because I was assured I could take have it done at any Best Buy stores. This is a bit complicated, given that I live in a rural area and the two nearest Best Buy stores are either 90 (one way) to the north or 60 miles to the south. As it happened, today I was passing through Redding, and figured I could conveniently drop them off, reducing the driving to just one 120-mile trip for the pickup once the service was completed.  However, the Redding Geek Squad person very rudely informed me that since I didn't have an appointment, I'd have to come back at the next appointment - which is 2:40 tomorrow.  I said "No, I'm here now. I'm not going to drive all the way home tonight only to turn around and drive the 120 miles again tomorrow; and AGAIN the next day (or 2 days later) to pick it up!"  I also spoke with one of the store managers there who was just as rude as the Geek Squad desk greeter.  Again, without an appointment to do the paperwork, I could not drop off.  I requested to complete the paperwork myself (without anofficial appointment) but she would not agree to it.  Multiple 120-mile drives is the only way.  Sorry, not for me - I'm canceling this overpriced and useless TotalTech support membership and hopefully can get my money back. Also will not be supporting the Redding Best Buy again. read more

Not a bad place to shop. A lot of the staff are very knowledgeable and nice. Only bad experience was when i tried to price match the lady said they couldn't do it until i pushed and pushed and she asked and sure enough they could she just didn't want to check. Other than that they are a good company, they price match amazon also. read more

Love this store best place to get anything electronic, good customer service particularly the mobile and home theater departments

I was in a market for a new TV and I found a really good one here. The staff are really helpful and have good knowledge of products.

I bought a new LG range there, they delivered it, installed it and took away my old one, all for free. This was December 2015. No problems. We're happy with it and the service provided. read more

This review is strictly based on my experience with the manager, Marissa. I had a problem with my 2-year-old Samsung television and reached out to both Best Buy and Samsung. After 2 months of back and forth, Marissa at Best Buy came through! She was incredible! So grateful for the assistance and will always ask for her when buying in the future. Not a huge fan of Samsung any longer, but Marissa won me over at Best Buy. Thanks again! read more

I bought a Dynex 32" LCD/DVD combo a week ago. Exactly one week to the day the tv died. It was an "open box' tv so it probably had quite a few miles on it. We brought it into the same Best Buy we purchased it from and were immediately assisted in our exchange. Best Buy exchanged our floor model tv with a brand new Dynex 32" tv on the spot, exact same model. We paid no up charges considering the fact we paid an "open box' price for it. I was very impressed with the speed with which we were helped, the ease with which they executed the exchange and the integrity Best Buy showed in this matter. I would recommend this Best Buy to anyone. And the Dynex is a nice little tv/dvd so I will hold out for a bit on my review of the tv. Our initial purchase was equally as pleasurable. We were helped by Jay at Best Buy and he was very knowledgeable, personable and helpful. He made the experience seamless for us! He also was helpful when we brougt the tv back for exchange, he got us right where we needed to be and got us set up with the proper people, retrieved the new tv and made sure we had been taken care of. read more

I'm surprised it is not out of business. I can't believe people still spend their hard earned money on this greedy sorry excuse for a store. Most of their people are unexperienced when it comes to electronics. Their buy online and pick up at the store is very disorganized. Thank the stars for Amazon.com and other online stores. read more

Most of the associates here are great, and very friendly. So why is it, every time I go to check out, the counter people are rude? Usually there is only 1 maybe 2 up there if you're lucky, and while you wait in line you see at least 3-5 associates floating the floor not doing much. The other day, there was an Indian gentleman who rang me up, and he did not say ONE WORD to me! It was the most awkward experience I've ever had there, hence the 4 stars rather than 5. read more

The staff was on top of things right away, someone greeted me at the door and directed me to where I needed to go. As usual, most of the floor staff was tied-up with other customers, but when I approached the cashier, he and another employee were happy to help me with my needs. When one of them was freed-up, he guided me through the different products and listened to what I wanted in an all-in-one printer/copier. He used his personal experience with his own recent purchase and showed the best deals and a printer that met all my needs. Big thanks to your staff! And for your knowledgeable advice and ability to helped me make a difficult decision choosing a new printer. read more

My neighbors purchased 2 computers, a backup power supply, a router, an external hard drive and apparently a switch. It turns out they told my neighbor that he needed it (he doesn't). The reason I give 1 star is because Geek Squad left the job unfinished. I had to come over there and setup their quickbooks for sharing, and their backup system. The "Agent" left the external drive IN THE BOX. I also had to secure the wireless network that was left unencrypted. After all this I had to refuse any payment because Geek Squad had already charged more than anyone should have to pay for a tech to setup a home office. read more

Was shopping for a TV & visited several stores in the area......without question they offered the best deal and a staff that was willing to answer all my lame questions. Bought from them and love my TV. I really appreciated the great service. Thanks. read more

Just restore windows yourself, because that's probably what they're going to do anyways. I have the black tie coverage but apparently that doesn't cover them fixing my actual issue. The guy I spoke with over the phone was really vague and unhelpful. He sounded like someone who didn't know what he was talking about. So now it's up to me to restore windows and hope that fixed the issue of what is most likely faulty hardware. read more

So after the Carr Fire, Shasta County went in search for a Air Purifier. Best Buy and Amazon was priced the same at 199.99 for the same product. Since I did not really want to wait a few days for delivery, I went to the Redding Best Buy only to find the same item listed on line for 199.99 was in the store for 275.99. Wow....way to go Best Buy for being supportive with your community. Oh, I forgot, online, I had an option to pay online and wait an hour to pick up the item at the same store. Not having a hour to wait, I went to Redding Home Depot and bought the same item gor $229.00. read more

I don't believe this store even deserves 1/2 a star. They have the worst "customer service" I have ever seen. The Geek Squad is exactly what their name says. GEEKS!! Bought a brand new computer it crashed the first night we also got extended warranty in short they wanted to charge to fix it I refused to pay. They gave it back and yet again it crashed next day. We paid quite a hit for that hunk of junk needless to say we took it back and the most certainly had an attitude. DON'T go there. They SUCK!! read more

I saw Patrick the manager of the geek squad and he informed me that the laptop I had needed a hard drive with no moving parts ,so I bought one. I guess you could say we spend a lot of money in this Best Buy, however there is nothing more frustrating then a group of staff standing around not asking if we need any help and when they do they say they will be with us in a minute and continue on with whatever conversation they were having with another staff member at the time and then help us when it's convenient for them! this just really pisses me off.
