The Best buy website clearly noted when I was shopping for a headset for a computer online from home that available stock needed to be checked at the store. When I arrived at the store's nearly completely empty parking lot, I noticed a line of uniformed employees chatting in front of the store, a few customers entering, and a tent with a line of about five customers waiting to pick up prepurchased items. As I looked for a place to lock my bicycle (found no good one, so I selected a tree in the parking lot about twenty feet from the store) I was approached by a tall curly-haired female employee. I was surprised to see her immediate aggressive, seething, and haughty body language and vocal tone directed at me before I could even lock up my bike. I had not yet made contact with this person, but was sorry that, by the looks of the situation, I might not deal with only a cashier after entering the store and selecting the product I wanted myself. She asked me what I was looking for and I tried to say I would really like to go and take a look inside but before I could finish my sentence she shouted over me with a sneer that I would never be entering that store and ended her sentence with a wry smile. She was wearing a mask, and her sneer was so apparent that it showed in her eyes and cheeks. This was beyond rude and inappropriate behavior but I still tried to work with her, describing the product that I was looking for. As she had not allowed me to finish a sentence, she then again asked me what product I was looking for and I tried to respond that it would depend on the relationship between the price and the features, but again she interrupted asking what I was looking for. This was, now flat out verbal assault from her. These interruptions happened two more times and each time I replied (or attempted to) that it would depend on the relationship between the features in the price and I would have to look and see what they actually had in stock. She then interrupted me two more times, shouting that she saw the same website I did. I told her that the site I viewed noted that I would need to check stock availability. She then said that I was lying when I said not all the items I saw on the website I viewed were in stock. She kept repeating that she looked at the same website I did although I can assure you she was not sitting next to me when I was on the website earlier that day and therefore could not have seen the same website that I looked at. This young woman (perhaps late twenties, approximately six feet tall) was simply aggressive rude, assaulting and dishonest. I did not respond to her 3 shouting interruptions, or the fact that she was calling me a liar which is not only rude but totally incorrect as everything I told her was the truth. I did not raise my voice to her as she immediately did to me either. I simply asked her not to be rude. At that point she turned around and sauntered in a triumphant manner to the sidewalk in front of the store about 20 feet away with the rest of the employees. I told another employee what happened and she immediately stiffened and began the very similar seething behavior towards me. Again, I ignored this second batch of bad behavior, and simply try to do business with her. I never raised my voice with anyone, never said anything but the truth, tolerated misinformation, constant verbal assault and interruptions, and simply tried to do business. When I described the rude behavior to another uniformed employee, two other employees I had not spoken with and who had admitted spontaneously that they heard the very rude first employee shout at me interrupted my conversation and told me not to be rude. Again, I was being very polite, never raising my voice, and simply stating what happened 20 feet away earlier since these employees directly in front of the store could not hear what I was saying only what she was shouting at me as they all did identify and confirm. The second employee told me that hundreds of different brands and types computer headset headphones were physically in the store in stock and (strangely) not the ones that I found online (?), directly contradicting many things that the first employee had told me. All of the aforementioned actions of patience restraint which I displayed were absolutely not performed by the three employees who verbally assaulted me in front of the store. The impression I got is that this place employees a club of abusive employees who might do their job if you give them the impression that their abuse is normal and you are there to serve their abusive, often sexist and bigoted desires. If you read through the Yelp reviews you will see a pattern of hubris and abuse that makes the store a very toxic human environment. If you have to buy something here I suggest buying it online or waiting until you don't have to talk to any of the extremely unwell people in uniform there. If you have to go, go in a pair with one person taking video. read more
