I found myself at Best Buy's Burbank location doing research on TVs for a newly-acquired investment property. I've generally been a fan of this brand over the years when the only other competitor was Circuit City, but now places such as online behemoth Amazon.com and national brands Costco, Target, and Walmart vied for the public's electronic entertainment money. This was my last place for research after I first checked online and then visited several brick-and-mortars. Whether I was exhausted, the selection seemed better, the service was helpful, and the prices were competitive (all of these were true), I ultimately landed here to fork over my money. From start to finish, was this the best buy I hoped for!? PURCHASE(S) Samsung 55" Class M8OH Series Mini LED 4K UHD Samsung Vision AI Smart Tizen TV 2026 ($599.99): A beautiful TV with nice black screen color, very good sound before the soundbar, and I loved Samsung products which I can also sync with my mobile phone. I only wished I bought the 65"; I mismeasured - oops! Rocketfish Tilting TV Wall Mount For Most 32"-90" TVs Black ($89.99): This was the least expensive standard option and seemed to be the right choice since the TV was going to be stationary. TV Basic Mounting 55" Or Smaller ($179.99): Honestly, I felt paying for this installation at about 30% of the TV cost was outrageous, but as I observed the two technicians, I don't think a friend and I could've done as good of a job or within the time it took them to do it - c'est la vie. Samsung B-Series HW-B650F 3.1 Ch DTS Virtual X Soundbar Black ($249.99): This provided a nice cinematic surround sound listening experience with a wireless subwoofer for more bass. I was skeptical about the extra expense, but I felt it has made a difference in sound quality. Insignia Rear/Bottom Soundbar Mount For Wall Mounted TVs Black ($24.99): A simple enough piece of hardware that cradled the soundbar underneath the TV for more volume. Soundbar Setup ($99.99): Might as well have a "professional" handle this, but it seemed easy enough when I watched it being installed. Home Delivery (COMP): Normally $99.99, I couldn't recall if it was waived as a holiday promotion, or because I spent a certain amount. Whatever the reason, I gladly accepted it! Best Buy Foundation Donation ($5.00): For the benefit of youths in underserved communities, I believed in supporting their educational and career goals. Electronic Waste Recycling Fee ($6.00): Who exactly got this money!? SERVICE I was approached by a male salesperson who calmly took the time to explain the differences between a few TVs I looked at, helped recommend the additional hardware (he sold me on the soundbar), and talked me through everything. On delivery/installation day, two friendly Geek Squad technicians arrived timely enough within the delivery window (the text updates were acting wonky), they courteously wore covers on their shoes as they rather easily and quickly unpackaged, installed, and tested everything, One offered a quick tutorial on the remotes of the TV and soundbar. They were done in about 45 minutes - thank you! PARKING (FREE) Located within the large outdoor Burbank Empire Center, there were plenty of spots shared among several other businesses - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A big-box high ceiling warehouse style layout with one level. There was plenty of merchandise throughout the sectioned floorplan and within many aisles while ample space was given for carts and customers. Promotional posters and such were throughout as you would imagine. Minimal natural lighting came through the front glass windows and doors while a ton of electric soul-sucking fluorescent ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were plenty of TVs (only for display purposes) while Top-40 music played in the background. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL At the very least, Burbank's Best Buy location contained what I was looking for on this trip, so I was happy and would consider another visit if needed. The store itself was bustling with customers for holiday deals and an approachable sales staff. They basically carried all the major name brands in appliances and electronics, so do your research and find what you want. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $1,326.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). I mailed an actual letter to the corporate complaint department. To Whom It May Concern, I have been a loyal Best Buy customer since the 1980s. As a Veteran, a single father, and a small business owner, both my time and budget are limited. What should have been a simple purchase of two televisions for my son's school project became a nearly two-week ordeal that cost me more than eight hours of work time, multiple one-hour round-trip drives, and a great deal of unnecessary stress. Between July 2 and July 14, I experienced a long series of failures that should never happen to a customer: My online order for two open-box TVs was repeatedly confirmed and then canceled, requiring approximately 90 minutes and multiple calls to customer service before it was finally processed. I drove to the Woodland Hills store only to discover that one of the TVs I had purchased had apparently been missing for months. At the Burbank store, I purchased another TV to meet my deadline. When I got home, I discovered that the original open-box TV I had ordered had a severely damaged screen. Your online return system directed me to the Sherman Oaks store, where I was told the TV could not be returned there and had to be taken back to Burbank. An employee even remarked that the damage appeared consistent with the TV having been stepped on. I made another one-hour round trip to Burbank to return the damaged TV, only to wait about 30 minutes before being told the store's return system was down and no returns could be processed. I then spent nearly another hour on the phone with customer service and was ultimately told that neither customer service nor the supervisor could offer compensation, and that I should contact Corporate. When I finally returned the TV on July 14, the store manager acknowledged the problems but blamed an "outside vendor", confirmed the previous system outage, and accepted that the experience had been unacceptable. However, he refused to compensate me for the significant inconvenience. By the end of this process, I had made multiple unnecessary trips, spent over eight hours away from my business, dealt with repeated mistakes by your ordering and return systems, and devoted additional time to documenting this experience. In more than 40 years as a customer, I have never experienced such a prolonged series of preventable failures with a store. I am asking Best Buy to recognize the significant time, expense, and inconvenience this situation caused by providing appropriate compensation like a Best Buy gift card. I believe that would be a fair acknowledgment of the customer experience I endured and would demonstrate that Best Buy values long-time customers. I bought an expensive MacBook here - less than 24 hours later, I brought it back - so that their computer / help staff could take a look at at minor problem I was having - I was told "if you want to me look at that - even for 1 minute, we have to charge you" I kept the computer (and just walked out) - but when it was time to buy the next overpriced MacBook - I went elsewhere. We've just been in this store today Sunday to looked for my new smartphone and replace my old one. And thank God my favorite worker was on duty today, his name is SERGIO. He's very nice and a very helpful guy. Last time I've seen him was in 2022 when he helped us looked for my son's computer stuffs. Now, we're back at the store because I want to upgrade my old phone and he helped me got my new Samsung with their Labor Day Deals, so I got the best price. BUYERS BEWARE -- BEST BUY MARKETPLACE I purchased a laptop in April through BestBuy.com, believing I was purchasing it from Best Buy. I later learned that it was actually sold by a third-party seller through Best Buy Marketplace. Now the laptop is having problems. I brought it to Best Buy for service, and despite being a longtime My Best Buy Total member with protection coverage, I was told Best Buy will not cover or service it under my protection plan because the laptop was purchased from a Marketplace seller. I spoke directly with Leo, a manager at the Burbank Best Buy, and was told this is not simply a decision being made by that individual store -- this Marketplace policy applies across Best Buy. That is the problem consumers need to understand: Just because you are shopping on BestBuy.com does NOT necessarily mean you are buying from Best Buy -- and the protections you pay Best Buy for may not apply. I had no idea when I made this purchase that I was buying from a third-party seller or that Best Buy would later distinguish the purchase this way when I needed help. Best Buy allows third-party sellers to sell products through its website and shopping experience, but when there is a problem, customers can discover that Best Buy does not stand behind those Marketplace purchases the same way it does merchandise sold directly by Best Buy. Before purchasing ANYTHING on BestBuy.com, check who it says "Sold & shipped by." If it isn't Best Buy, understand that you may not receive the same protection or service you expect from Best Buy -- even if you're paying for My Best Buy Total. In my opinion, this is a terrible example of corporate greed: Best Buy benefits from allowing third parties to sell through the Best Buy website and brand experience, while customers like me can be left without the Best Buy protection we believed we were paying for. I was "helped" by manger Leo, at the geek squad counter...this specific location is GREAT at selling you a product (over $2,000) including a warranty that will literally not cover ANYTHING! I dropped off my HP, and they required the manufacturer charger- Upon pick up- kept the manufactures charger & handed me a cheap replacement. My laptop was out for the hp manufacturing office for over 2 weeks. And like I said once I called to check up on my laptop they tried to charge $67 for a "service charge", handed me my laptop with No box- hadn't it been shipped back in hp manufacturer box? If you order anything from their store from Doordash, you only have 15 days to return. NOT their 60 day return policy that is listed on the receipt. Doordash even called them to try to sort it out and they said no to the return. Very bad customer service, with no exceptions. read more

I had to return something to the Best Buy in Burbank as I had purchased the wrong size. The man in Customer Service was named Vincent and he went above and beyond on helping me. He checked to see if they had the size I needed in stock. They did not. He went to the return bin to see if any had been returned. They had not. Came to inquire for a 65 inch tv got approved for $2k credit line now I wanna purchase my $1.8k but then the salesman 'Gary' seem pretty helpful at first until they started adding all these EXTRA expenses like a "Speaker bar for $1.2k but we'll give you deal today for $900." We came on a Sunday around 2pm. We ended up buying an open box Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra that they had a phenomenal deal on but the service was so, so bad. The employees at the phone/samsung booth act like it is an inconvenience to help you. The employees throughout the store are too busy talking to each other to even look at you or even check you receipt as you walk out. Once there, I saw around 5-10 employees joking around, went to the in-store pickup location and they said my order wasn't ready. Super nice cashier here tonight! My bf bought me a Magic Mouse because I really wanted it and thought it would make my life easier. Well, I have a touch screen iPad and it just didn't work as well as just touching the screen does so I wanted to return it. The receipt stated there may be a restocking fee, which was understandable since I opened the package and tried it out before returning it. We came in tonight and waited in the Customer Service line. An employee asked us if we were doing an exchange, but we told him we wanted to do a return. He said the Customer Service was closed (it was after 5PM) but that anyone in a blue shirt at the checkout registers would be able to help us. So we got in line there and the cashier who helped us allowed us get a full refund on it. I explained that I just didn't like how it worked and would be fine with a restocking fee being deducted from the return amount, but he actually gave us a full refund. Everyone in here was really nice to us tonight and we got prompt service. Thank you for being so nice and helpful. I had a very unpleasant experience at Best Buy. While I was at the phone display, an alarm kept going off -- not even from the phones I was touching. A salesperson approached me in a very rude and aggressive tone and asked, "What are you doing?" I told him I wasn't doing anything. He then said, "Then why does the alarm keep going on?" which felt like a direct accusation. The way he spoke to me was completely disrespectful and made it seem like he was implying I was trying to steal or do something wrong because of the alarm. I told him I didn't like his tone, but the situation was already uncomfortable and unacceptable. No customer should be treated like a suspect because of a store alarm issue that is clearly not their fault. This behavior is unprofessional, rude, and reflects very poorly on the store. On all visits I asked for assistance from a staff member, was told someone would be coming then I was forgot about and left to stand around. After 10 minutes of nobody showing up I left each time. However, the store "lead," Ernie, refused to honor their own return policy and couldn't show me any fine print to support his reasoning. When I asked for clarification, he simply walked away and said their customer service "can say whatever they want, it's easy to print the return label and return it (as easy as it would have been to return the item while I was there at the store, right?) but the store wouldn't follow it. He and another employee (a larger man who didn't provide his name) stood around talking to each other with a dismissive and unprofessional attitude. This experience made it clear why Best Buy continues to lose loyal customers. Sure, I could have mailed the return--but I stopped by for convenience and expected at least basic customer service and consistency with their own policies.
