The interior of Filmtools - a wide open space filled with supplies, tools, and equipment for film industry professionals - The image shows the interior of a retail store with a high ceiling featuring exposed ductwork and wooden beams. Fluorescent lights are installed along the ceiling, providing bright illumination. The store has concrete flooring and is stocked with shelves, carts, and various supplies, likely related to film or production equipment. The space appears organized with different sections for merchandise, and the background includes additional shelving and display areas.

I stop by Filmtools every time I'm in Burbank, even if I don't need anything. For anyone who works crew in film, TV, or video - it's like Toys "R" Us. I bought my setwear gloves there, my mini follow focus, C-stands, slates, dimmers, clamps and batteries of all manners. They've got everything a crew person needs. Their staff is knowledgeable enough, although most people who go there know exactly what they're looking for and everything about it beforehand so a high degree of expertise isn't totally necessary for a good experience. I wish they got better camera allocation from time to time, they've been out of stock on the Sony FX6 for quite a while now, but I suppose that's not something they can control. And I wish their prices one expendables were a little bit lower. I just wish there was a Filmtools on the west side!

A Canon camera with a long, white telephoto lens attached is mounted on a tripod stand. The lens features a black focus ring and a large black lens hood at the front. The setup is placed indoors against a plain beige wall, indicating a photography or videography environment.

Arbi was incredible to deal with! I purchased a hard to find Canon RF 200-800mm lens. Arbi helped on the order and followed up with 2 day shipping. I could not be more pleased. Thanks Arbi and Filmtools !

A black high-speed HDMI cable from Hosa Technology is coiled and placed on a glass display counter. The packaging features the Hosa Technology logo and product details, including HDMI specifications. Additional product boxes are visible in the background, indicating a retail environment that sells electronic accessories and cables.

I came here with a list of items. I needed audio and video help for a mini podcast set up. I was greeted by Tommy who helped me find the lens that I wanted. Then a young man named Zach assisted me and he was absolutely exceptional. He help me find everything else I needed from lighting to the cords I needed to the camera that I wanted and I cannot say enough about the overall Customer Service I received a Filmtools.

Lighting studio - A photography or film studio features large softbox lights suspended from the ceiling, casting purple and pink hues on the background. A mannequin dressed in dark clothing stands in front of a black backdrop, surrounded by boxes of lighting and camera equipment. The space is enclosed with black stanchions and ropes, and there are additional boxes and cables on the floor, indicating an active setup for a photo or video shoot.

Great pro shop in Burbank. They have all your video needs and a ton of gear for still photographers too.

The date on these said good until 2025. Which means they were manufactured in 2015. Why are they selling such old stock? - Multiple used batteries with damaged or corroded ends are placed on a purple surface. A keyboard is visible in the background, along with a partially opened box containing additional batteries. The batteries are red and black, and some show signs of wear and corrosion, indicating they are no longer functional.

The team actually knows what they're talking about. No ego, no upsell pressure, just real conversations about what makes sense for your workflow. What I respect most is how tapped in they are to the "new new." They're consistently carrying and releasing the latest gear before most places even catch up. If something innovative drops in the camera world, they either already have it or can get it fast. That matters when you're trying to stay current and competitive. The vibe is professional but relaxed. It feels like a place run by people who actually work in production and understand what it's like on set. They get the urgency. They get the details. And they treat you with respect whether you're buying something big or just grabbing an accessory. If you're serious about camera gear and want knowledgeable people who are cool, helpful, and ahead of the curve, this is the spot. Probably the coolest camera shop in town.

I've bought gear from them and prepped cameras at their LA space, and every time it's the same vibe: skilled techs, zero attitude, and a room full of people who clearly care about the craft. The prep area feels like a creative war room -- organized, focused, and buzzing with purpose. If you're serious about production and want to be around people who get it, this is the place.

SHARING PSA FOR ALL CUSTOMERS AND RENTAL HOUSES!…read more I contacted my rep at Studio Depot for a set of 10' speed rail which I was able to purchase at a discounted price. I was initially very satisfied with the order and requested that it be fulfilled. I provided my FedEx account number to the representative and authorized him to charge the account for the shipping. However, the representative failed to inform me of the shipping charges before completing the order. After days of waiting, I figured the order was sitting in the shipping cue since I was never provided a shipping cost or tracking number. The shipment arrived out of the blue; and about a week later, I was hit with a $1,507 charge from FedEx which I initially figured was fraud. Come to find out, there was either negligence in the measuring of the package, or ignorance of courtesy, that resulted in an automatic "Ground Unauthorized Package Charge" from FedEx in the amount of $1,250. That meant that the total cost to ship the item without the extra charge was $257, which in and of itself should be reason enough to inform me that the shipping would cost more than the item itself. Nevertheless, were I made aware of any such shipping cost, I would have happily driven from our location in Santa Barbara to LA to pick it up myself. Hell, I'd even bike there. Since then, I have reached out, pleading for a resolution, and the issue has simply been neglected. LONG STORY SHORT: IF YOU ARE PURCHASING ITEMS THROUGH SALES REPS AT THIS COMPANY, explicitly request that they inform you of the shipping charges especially for larger items. I certainly hope that this company increases its transparency with its customers in the future. Don't waste your time or money here. I still hope to see this resolved.

The floors aren't carpeted & product is kinda just crammed together. However that def won't stop me from coming here. Just like the older location better that's all! Yes they are a bit pricey, but there's not really a huge market for film equipment. Today's trip I scored some black A Clamps. I know it sounds pretty goofy to get excited about a clamp, but at the same time it's fun to collect smaller items that don't cost an arm & a leg for your studio! Plus, it saves me the hassle from having to spray paint all the clamps anyway! Also I got 20% off my purchase, not sure why, but yay! I will always come back here when I can. The only shitty part is they are open on weekdays only :(.

We didn't have time to order online and get it before departure so I started to call around. Had a bad experience here before, but called and they were nice (other people working), had a few options, good prices as well. So we drove over, parked in front (they have a few spots for customers) and they had the tripods put aside for us to check. They were nice, patient, nice to talk to. We tried them and settled on one. It was used, but in good condition. So we bought it. It's good we gave them another shot since they are one of the last standing camera stores in the Valley!

Two weeks later, I get a call that my camera is "ready for pickup." When I arrive, I'm told they replaced the motherboard without my consent, and now I owe $150 instead of the $20 diagnostic fee I was expecting. When I questioned this, the man admitted the technician "made a mistake" and offered to remove the part--but why would I have you take out something you already installed, especially when I never asked for it in the first place? I paid the fee, only to discover the camera was still malfunctioning--it overheats every 20 minutes, which is the same issue I originally brought it in for. Clearly, it was never properly diagnosed or fixed. When I finally had time to bring it back (about 3 months later), I explained the issue calmly. Instead of offering help or a second look, he immediately dismissed me, said there was a 30-day warranty (which he couldn't show me), and refused to look at the camera again. He then proceeded to call me a "bitch" under his breath and followed it up with "damn woman"--completely out of line and unprofessional. He offered no solution, no accountability, and no respect. In fact, when I pressed him further, he told me to "sue him" and walked away. I've never had such a disgusting experience with a business. I was disrespected, overcharged, ignored, and insulted. This place is a joke. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.
