Walked in at 6pm on a Tuesday afternoon to find that the place is packed with a 40 minute wait! Luckily for us, the main purpose of our visit is to hit another brewery on the Bend Ale Trail, so we went to the bar which is 1st come 1st serve and we found an empty table right away! I ordered the Apricot Ale and this brew did not disappoint, it's delicious! My husband ordered the Ludwig German Pilsner and gives it positive reviews. Now I know that I said that we were only here for the brews, but in sipping our drinks it's hard not to notice all the picture worthy food being ordered by other patrons... So we caved and ordered the Chile Verde Nachos and let me tell you... it's a good thing we did! Our waitress, Karina, and her trainee, Carly were AMAZING. Such kind people, and the food was amazing. My friend got the sweet potato fries... I ate most of them. Their special burger sauce is very delicious- good on anything. I also recommend either of the Sour ales. Great brews! We stopped by here to get some take out, and the guy helping us was super friendly. He let us mix and match 4 packs so we could try all their varieties. Some people in my group really don't like beer, but they really enjoyed their sours. I personally loved the West Coast IPA and the stout, which is a perfect winter beer. Also, each beer has a funny and unique little blurb on the can describing it. When open for seating, this place is PACKED, with a prime location right by the waterfront. Upon walking up to this place, with the impressive fire pits, and modern decor, I had high expectations. We came in, sat at the bar and ordered a flight, our usual at a new brewery. From everything I saw online, I was super impressed with the unique style offerings, and I was intrigued to try out many of their beers. We had 2 of the hefe (typically our favorite style), the golden, volkssekt, peach sour and a stout. To be 100% honest, I haven't been this unimpressed with 5 different beers in a long time. The hefe had a super funky flavor. I don't know if the lines needed to be cleaned, or if this was intentional but it was not enjoyable. The peach wasn't peachy at all, the volk and golden were unimpressive, and the stout I barely even touched. With such high hopes that were unmet in reality, I'm sorry to say we won't be back. Tried this a few weeks ago. The prices were in the moderate range and the food was good but was not fond of the beer selections. I live in Portland so I can only try a few places when I go to Bend. Your father's brewpub; or at least it felt like that. Bend Brewing was established in 1995, and it looks like they haven't changed much since then. It's in an old-school structure that is decidedly un-fancy and showing some age. I was told by the guys at Boneyard that they had good beer, and so I had made a short trek to their doorstep to grab an early dinner (and help offset some of the brews I had been sampling elsewhere). The location was ideal. The brewpub hugged downtown Bend yet was also adjacent to a sunny, sloping park overlooking the river. When I arrived there was some kind of small street festival in their parking lot, so lots of people were hanging out to enjoy the stellar afternoon, including plenty of families. The outside deck and interior tables of the pub were all packed at about 6 pm, so I made my way to the bar, where I was lucky to find an open stool. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. It took me a good eight minutes to catch the eye of one of the bartenders (and not for lack of trying). They were busy, but not slammed, and I even observed them chatting up various locals during idle moments. (I began to wonder if I had inadvertently discovered the power of invisibility.) Finally, the older of the two bartenders walked by and looked at me like I had just arrived, I ordered a beer and a burger. The burger was a solid effort. Larger size, well-made, with fresh toppings. Cooked to my specifications; bun was just OK; I'd give it a 4 out of 5. The beers were a mixed bag. I started with an IPA they had on their daily-draft chalkboard. (I've forgotten the name). It was decent and fairly quaffable but not the best I'd had that day. Then I opted for their Hophead Imperial IPA. I love the taste and perfume of hops, but I thought this beer went waaaay too far; it was like chewing on a dried hop-flower. I couldn't finish it; this was a first for me (at least for these reasons). Overall, I liked the low-key vibe and location of Bend Brewing. They also had a large selection of beers to choose from. But based on my one experience here, I can only given average marks. Still, if I were to return to Bend, I'd definitely give them another try, hopefully on a less crowded day. Note: Per other reviewers, Bend Brewing appears to have started a re-model. That should improve on the downtrodden feel. Let's hope they take the opportunity to bone-up the service as well. read more

First of all, the atmosphere is fantastic, especially given the new CoVid rules and regulations. Who wouldn't want to sit outside, along the Deschutes River? Second, the menu consists of good tasting, quality pub traditional food that is sure to please everyone, including vegetarians. Third, they have an extensive beer selection. Great food, great vibe, great service. I ordered a Cobb Salad it was big and delicious. We sat on the restaurant patio which includes the full service menu. You can also sit at the picnic tables/grass which is a self service limited menu. Lots of people hanging out in the grass by the river with their dogs and music playing. I was very excited to go back here for dinner since I was finally back in town. Our server dropped off our dinner, and did not check back in for 50 mins. Sadly our chicken wings, southwest chicken salad AND chicken nachos were VERY disappointing and she was no where to be found. I was frustrated but made myself sit at the table with full plates until she finally checked in and I could pay and leave. We didn't order any food here... so I can't comment on any of that as to how it might be. I can only talk about the beer since that was all that we got. I got the Metolius Golden Ale which was decent. It had a pretty good flavor to it but it wasn't as memorable as some beers. Steve was on a sour beer kick and got the Razz Tafari. I think I liked his beer a little bit better but again... he wasn't as impressed as some other sour beers he has come across in the past. We were here on a holiday weekend and and the place was crammed with people. I have to give kudos through... they got us seated immediately and though waiting to get served was a bit slow it was totally understandable with how many customers were here. read more

I think this place has one of the best views in the area. Cool patio with a river view. A really cool game area with corn hole. The beers are good, service was good. We ordered the braised beef burrito. Pretty good, no complaints about it. I really enjoyed both of sours they offer here, and my wife did too (she is usually not a sour drinker). One thing (I will update if things change), we bought a hoodie for my wife. We took it home (Washington State), and she wanted to wear it. The zipper was jammed or broken. We did not notice until we got back, I am not sure if they are going to exchange via mail, we emailed them to see if there was anything we could, no response yet (2 days so far). If your in Bend I reccommend this place for a beer, and scenery. Nice location. I went to BBC around 7 on a Wednesday night. The tables are spaced appropriately. They do have a tent with heating that is has several tables in it and they have heating along the wall of the building which has 3 additional tables. They have a ton of uncovered picnic tables in the yard, but they were all wet this particular night unfortunately. There's one picnic table underneath a canopy which looks like it could have heating hooked, but didn't this night. I would definitely recommend getting there earlier than I did if you'd like a table in the heating area. All of the seating is first come first serve. The good news is that the people in the heating tent seem to cycle through pretty quickly, so I was finally able to grab a spot there just in time to eat my food. I also recommend dressing warm and packing a blanket in your vehicle if your legs are prone to getting cold. You may not have a spot in the heated section for the duration of your stay, so come prepare if it's cold outside. I'd say that goes for all restaurants right now. For beer my girlfriend got the Ching Ching. She's loved this beer since we first moved to Bend and she's been buying it in cans at the store ever since. She did say that Ching Ching on tap tastes exactly the same as in a can. I got the Tropical Pine IPA. I thought it was quite delicious! Just enough tropical flavor and just enough of the old fashion IPA taste your tongue is looking for. For food we both got the Spicy Jalapeño Burger with side salads. The salads were fantastic actually. They were a lot better than some store bought salad that comes pre made in a bag and dumped onto your plate. The burgers, however, were just okay. The cream cheese jalapeño spread kept our spirits alive in flavoring the burger. They give you a buzzer which will go off when your food is ready so that you can go pick up the food inside. I went as soon as my buzzer started going off and dug right in. Unfortunately, the burger was pretty cold. It seemed like it had been sitting around somewhere for a little longer than I'd expect paying $15 each for a burger. As I closed my tab, another customer came in saying that his food was cold as well. I'm going to go back during the day on a weekday so that I can hopefully leave a better review about the food. Living in Bend is a strange thing. It's a tourist driven town, but when you live here you don't expect to be treated like a tourist. This place is a mile from our home and we come about once a week. Up until tonight we've always had good service and the beer is always solid. Well cross another one off the list. Monday night at 7:30 we were told at the door it was an hour and a half to get seated outside, when we could clearly see open tables. So we got seated inside... they had a couple beers I wanted to sample and was met with an attitude for asking for samples. Just to come back and say they were out of the "summer" beer??? I came here on Sunday night with a friend. There was a bit of a wait for a table so we went up to the bar to order beers for the wait. I would say we stood there for a while waiting on any acknowledgement from the bartender before we were able to order. I had the amber ale and thought it was a decent beer and my friend really enjoyed her sour beer. Service, once we got to our table, was good. Between the two of us we ordered a pretzel, a small side salad, the chipotle black bean burger with the cajun tots. Everything was really good!
