We went there after visiting Silver River Resort, we went there to see the light show and after was recommended to go to Bend Brewing Company for some good fish & chips. My wife and daughter ordered the fish & chips and both were very disappointed with there order, because the fish batter was not crispy and more doughy, the French fries was tasty it didn't come out hot but was good & tasty. I had a chili and corn bread and it came out Luke warm which even the cheese didn't melt, I asked. The waitress was very nice and offered to heat it up and got me a new one. The corn bread was cold dried and hard which was not very tasty. The waitress brought out another chili & corn bread which was hotter, but by that time I was pretty full of the pull pork nachos. The Pull Pork Nacho was good and the portion was a good side. The beers were terrific and worth ordering and they gave a good variety of beers to choose from. Personally I get annoyed when someone comes and asks to try literally every one before purchasing. Just get a flight!!! But he didn't hesitate, tap his fingers or make a face when the couple next to us kept asking for a splash of everything. He served. They had a good selection of solid beer. We liked just about beer we tried. There is indoor and outdoor seating with music at just the right loudness. The view is one of the best for breweries at this little town just off the river. Not a review writer but I felt this was important if you are passing through town and searching for a spot. Absolutely loved the beer and lawn seating vibe. Great view of the river, well spaced out seating. Lots of picnic tables for big groups. Where it turned was the very unfriendly bar staff and honestly the inedible food. I went to order 2 more beers for my hubs and I, and the chilequiles starter and bartender/staff where you order did not try to upsale me to add chicken in which I definitely would have because they were so boring and bland! She then said is that it? In a very annoyed manner. Not is that all for now? Or even somewhat attempting to be friendly. It caught me so off guard! I took a second to glance around behind the bar and the entire energy was like they were annoyed at having to do their job. I appreciated the creative flavors of the menu- maple bacon chicken sandwich and butternut squash risotto balls had great fall flavors. The cajun tots were hot and perfectly crispy, a highlight. It's no surprise that Bend has plenty of brewery options! Bend Brewery should be on your list of places to visit! They are celebrating 30 years of Best Brews and Views - hard to argue with that! They've got an incredible outdoor seating area right along the river which is hard to beat. There was a bit of a wait but we were able to grab a drink from their patio bar and hang outside while we waited. I do feel their menu has gotten smaller, more limited, and more expensive over the years. I had the smash burger. It was tasty but hardly had any meat... more bun than anything. What an incredible surprise! We just saw it ion a map and said yea, let's try it. Welp, incredible fish tacos and a brisket grilled cheese. I love a going to a brewery by the water. It was quite treat to discover that Bend Brewing has a lovely outdoor area with a great view of the Deschutes River. You can also choose to hang out in other areas. Inside is sleek with lots of wood that exudes a warm vibe. There is also a patio that lines the outside of the building, and I think even more seating behind the grassy area, including some covered in a tent. Basically, Bend Brewing is a large, charming hangout space- with beer and food. Speaking of beer, I'll be honest, it didn't really stand out, but I only tried three of them & remember feeling satisfied. The pretzel was delicious, but overpriced. I wanted to be more excited about this place, but was super bummed about the fish and chips. Four out of six of us at the table ordered them and some of the batter was raw in everyone's order. In addition to that they were so heavily coated that we realize the amount of fish we got was very little for the price we paid. It was quite lively during our visit, with lots of families and couples enjoying the outdoor seating area. I loved that we could order everything outside, especially on a beautiful night like the one we visited during. Seating was a little tight, but we snagged a picnic table from a group that was just leaving, making it easier for our party of 5 to sit, enjoy our beers, and play a quick card game. If you're near the bar, be prepared to socialize while outside on the heated patio; you can find more privacy. Most guests should order from the bar servers, with limited staff perusing specific tables. When we dined here, it was very busy, so we did our best to speed things along. We both ordered six-pour flights, which were simple to organize since the servers asked you to write your commands on the sheet before they filled glasses. The food menu seems great, and the restrooms are very easy to find. We chose to sit patio side with the heated bench and roof heat, which was awesome for a chilly day with a book outside. We enjoyed the beers, especially the unique seasonal options that we will never enjoy again. I would recommend setting up a water station somewhere, since we had to bother staff a few times, and this, I am sure is not the most convenient for servers on busy weekends. Our server forgot to ask for a card or payment, so we returned at the end of our venture here to make sure they got paid and got their gratuity. The property fits with the older look of the town but is still large and modern. The draw for nicer weather is the large outdoor seating/park area right along the river, also with a tent with warmers and outdoor tables in the sunshine. Regardless it was too cold for us so we went inside. You're immediately greeted with a large bar area, well lit with colored bottles catching the eye. We sat in the front area with high windows, great view of the trees and blue sky that day. Our server was efficient and fast, if not the friendliest to chat. The restaurant has restrooms between the front room and back room toward the street, which seems like an event area. We each ordered a flight; I loved the flight boxes and glassware. We all ordered food - I shared the bison burger with goat cheese and tater tots with a friend; we were glad we did as everything was rich. We ordered from the food truck and this place just left a very sour taste in my mouth, so bad that I needed to write a review.. BEFORE ordering, I made them aware of a food allergy, (the boy who I placed an order with was different than the man serving the food) while at the truck trying to retrieve the food, I noticed that the food precaution I made them aware of was on the food.
