Hands-down my favorite place in ALL of Columbus. Belle's Bread is somewhere I visit at least once a week (and I live downtown!) The baked items are always fresh, flavorful, and well-priced. They also have a case of cakes, rolls, tarts, puddings and other things that are ALL amazing. I've probably tried everything here. The drinks are all equally as great. (Try an iced Hojicha latte if you haven't before). The ice cream, the crepes, the coffee -- everything is phenomenal, and the people are always SO helpful and kind. They actually used to have tables/booths inside that they got rid of during Covid. That would be my only negative - I wished those were back! However, the line gets so long it often fills that space anyway, haha. I just wish they still had a few tables that weren't outside. A friend shared some butter cream rolls years ago and wow. I've been meaning to get over to Belle's Bread ever since! I knew I had to go back for more!! I go here so often, like probably once a month. My mom loves their plain bread so I stop by here everytime i go home. Their pastries are so good because theyre fresh and not too sweet, which is a huge plus. The workers are always nice and fast! Is there anything I can say about Belle's Bread that hasn't already been said? A Parisian styled Japanese bakery? What more could you possibly want. To quote my five year old every time we stop by, "whoa!" The bakery case is always a sight. Cake rolls, strawberry cake, cream puffs, macarons. I don't think I haven't seen anything given to a customer that didn't look delicious as well as instagram-worthy. I especially like the cakes because they aren't overly sweet. They're genuinely perfect, light and fluffy cake and whipped icing with a subtle amount of sweet. Their drinks are also pretty amazing. The frozen matcha is very matcha-y and not coyingly sweet. I had to go back and tried the matcha soft serve. For $2.95 you get a big size of soft serve ice cream. It has good matcha flavor. It was so good that I could have eaten another cone. This is by far the best ice cream in Columbus OH. Also the ladies who work behind the counter are so friendly and polite. I will for sure visit this place for soft serve and cake on my next trip here. I will try the matcha cake next time. read more

Authentic Asian-style desserts in Columbus, Ohio? Who would've believed it?! But stop into this contemporary bakery/eatery, located in Japanese-centric strip mall for slightly sweet bakery and the best green tea soft-serve in the midwest. The bakery is a bit pricey for what you get but the soft serve is fantastic and a deal (honking big cone!). They also have specialty Asian style cakes that we buy for special occasions. The cakes are not overly sweet like western baked goods, but creamy nevertheless. And interesting flavors like green tea and mango will please the palate. They close earlier then most restaurants so plan accordingly. read more

Love coming here to get my Japanese pastries! This most recent trip I got a bear with strawberry cream, melon pan, chocolate melon pan, tsubuan (red bean) bun and a curry and egg donut. The bear had excellent strawberry flavor, the red bean bun was perfect with the right amount of red bean, the melon pan was nice with the cookie top and soft pillowy cloud underneath, and the donut was a nice mix of curry and egg. Definitely recommend stopping here if you are in town. Plus there are other desserts to try like crepes, cakes and ice cream. Didn't see much seating though. Still worth a stop. read more

I love this bakery. It's a Japanese style with a French twist to the bakery. I have been here so many times that I lost count. Everything at Belle's bread taste great. But my Favorite is the mango mousse cake. If you like/love Mango, you Have to try it. Its SOOOO good. Their cold sandwiches are pretty good too. I have had the tuna sandwich, the turkey, and the egg sandwich. All are pretty good. I like the raisin bread that they use to make their sandwiches with. The donuts that they carry taste delicious. Love the egg curry donut! Whatever you get from Belle's Bread, you will not be disappointed. The staffs are very friendly, and the place is very clean. This bakery is located in the same parking area as Akai Hana and the Japanese supermarket. We've never been disappointed here. Their large cakes are wonderful, but I would really recommended choosing from their assorted collection of eclectic cake slices. I love Belle's Bread. It is one of my favorite places to visit. On this trip a friend of mine and I tried the crepes. We both ordered the strawberry and banana crepe. Belle's is an amazing Japanese bakery tucked into a Japanese shopping center on Kenny Road. Inside you'll find a bakery offering amazing cakes and breads of all kinds done in the Japanese style. That means typically milder flavor and nowhere near as sweet as American desserts. A major highlight is the strawberry cake. Amazing, lighter than air sponge cake coated in extremely light and delicate whipped cream with strawberries between the layers of cake and on the outside. Also, try their seasonal blueberry cheesecake which is just coming out now! It's excellent. Their breads are delicious as well, and are just so light and fresh tasting. Light years better than anything you can get in a supermarket, and comparably priced. They used to have a lunch menu but have since discontinued it, and I haven't tried any of their new offerings like crepes. There's a decent sized dining room inside and a "community room" which is just another dining room you can reserve for your function. Staff are consistently cheerful and friendly. It can get pretty busy on weekends and around holidays. Do yourself a huge favor and pay Belle's a visit! read more

This is such a cute shop! They have a wide variety of offerings - which I believe are prepared/baked on site. You may buy whole desserts such as a fruit tarte, chocolate cake, strawberry cake, and tiramisu - all of which are available per piece to dine in or take away. They also offer cake rolls in red bean, matcha green tea, and coffee. I have tried the coffee and matcha green tea cake rolls which were perfectly flavored. I also really enjoyed the tiramisu. However, I think that the strawberry cake has been my favorite - it was delightfully light while being extremely flavorful. They also offer coffee (hot, iced, frozen (I think)) and macaroons - I have yet to try these. My only complaint is that they close a little early - probably not too early for most people :-) read more

Get here early. This is a local gem and the bakery case can be sold down by the end of the day. If you are lucky enough to get there before favorites sell out, you can get amazing rolls, breads and cakes and slices. The strawberry cake is popular but I am particularly fond of the mango mousse cake. We have also enjoyed the Mont Blanc and the lemon cake but do wish the lemon cake had more lemon in the actual cake. This time I tried the blueberry cheesecake and was pleasantly surprised by how light it was and felt perfect for a hot, Summer evening. If you do get there and there is a long line, don't fret. Bell's Bread recently switched up their cafe offering, so I need to update my old review. For the nitty-gritty details, please read my previous review. It's still the best Japanese bakery in town with amazing cakes and pastries. However, they used to serve Japanese comfort foods along with their baked goods. This is no longer the case. Typically, I would consider that a big negative... except they replaced the kitchen items with JAPANESE CREPES! Japanese Crepes are simply delicious, and different from the crepes that you would get from IHOP. The shell is thinner and more delicate, and instead of it being folded over itself, it's used as a shell to make a sort of a burrito with whipped cream, ice cream, fresh fruits, chocolate sauce, etc. Basically, it's a parfait that comes in an edible shell. Do yourself a favor and go give it a try the next time you're in the area. I like Japanese crepes enough that it's on my "must-eat" list every time I fly over to Tokyo... and now it's available in Columbus. I'm feeling pretty lucky right now! read more

This place is really really good and there are A LOT of choices. It is a small bakery that is a bit hidden in an outlet area. But it is definitely worth a visit if you like baked good. They have a vast menu with many different items. We tried Hojicha Tea (which is strong, warm tea that is matcha-y). I liked it a lot. Very refreshing! We also tried the guava and passion fruit smoothie, which our kids LOVED! We tried some various sandwiches/breads. We tried the tuna sandwich, spicy tuna bread and pork sandwich. Each was really good. I really liked the spicy tuna bread, it was moist and very flavorful. We also tried the matcha cream puff, the eclair, fruit tart and A LOT more. Our favorites were the cheese dome (the dough is Heaven), the eclair (perfect balance of custard and chocolate) and the raspberry and white chocolate mousse (our kids went crazy over this one, it was really light). Though, everything tasted REALLY good. We did not have one thing we did not like and are excited to go back to try more. Why I waited so long to try this place I will never know. Wow just wow! Quite tucked away but it was fairly busy when I came in early on a Sunday. They have a ton of packaged options you can choose from and honestly everything looks and sounds good so I had a hard time deciding. They also have to baked goods that require a fridge so they are behind the counter but the ladies working were so friendly and fast! I was in and out in less than 10 even though the store was fairly busy. I got the ham and onion roll, strawberry danish and match cream puff. All 3 were 10 out of 10 but my favorite was the danish. I warmed it slightly when I got home and it made the flaky crust so warm and the custard slightly melty. Amazing. The ham and onion roll was like a 10x better version of a ham & cheese croissant. I really enjoyed the caramelized onion flavor with the thick ham. The match cream puff was LOADED with cream. I couldn't eat it all in one sitting.
