Order your dessert first!!! I recently fell in love with the Charlotte's Web on the dessert menu... It's a tiny bite of heaven. Charlotte's Web is "alternating layers of moist chocolate cake pieces, white chocolate espresso pudding, fresh whipped cream and crunchy heath bar pieces; served with cookie on the side". My only regret was not ordering this thing first. It's amazing! The dinner doesn't get the reputation it should... I think it's pretty good and relatively healthy. I call this my guilt free dining opportunity! read more

The food is always exceptional and fresh. I got the spicy shrimp pasta and it hit the spot. I am not someone who frequently eats pasta and it didn't disappoint. In addition to the pasta I tasted 2 red wines before deciding on a bottle of Pinot Noir that is my new favorite! Murphy Goode, California 2013. It is smooth and rich and I'm on the hunt for it in stores! I could eat here every day. read more

Came here at 11:00 on a Friday afternoon and was able to find a table. Got the turkey meatball panini which was well seasoned and toasted to perfection! Only downside were the slightly soggy fries. Parking can be tricky - small parking lot in rear along Studemont but I asked the cashier and he said patrons are able to park at church lot next door except Sunday mornings. read more

A little sad that they closed down the one on Kirby. Fish tacos are always so good! Highly recommended. Pizza is delicious as well. We got the tomato basil soup and very creamy and cheesy. Not much basil to be found. read more

Decided to try this restaurant on DoorDash. It was tasty, however, I think I'll give them another try and actually sit in the restaurant. My food was cold and wasn't as fresh. I think I'll have a better experience by actually going. It was good though no complaints about the taste. read more

The last two times I've been my to go order was wrong or they forget to add the things you pay for. Today I went to have my lunch indoors for once and there is no AC - per the girls at the register. It's Texas in June - put a sign on the door! read more

The Heights have so many wonderful places to eat but this really stands out. The food was fresh and the service was good. The beer and wine were a bit marked up for the offering but I guess that is to be expected. read more

Spacious covered patio area that's ideal for the weather we have all enjoyed as of late. One of their specials today was a divine Lamb burger that was only out done by the savory sweet potato fries that occupied it. read more

Ruggles had fresh food and good service! We had to go food and were in a bit of a hurry and they had everything cooked, packed and ready to go within 10 minutes. I recommend for lunch. Great fish tacos and sweet potato fries! read more

They have a good indoor and outdoor space. I had the veggie wrap, which was good, but I had to ask for more hummus. Hopefully they just skimped this time and typically put more on! I spent the first half of my meal trying to figure out if there was any on it at all--the wrap is extremely boring without it. read more

We are regulars here and consider the staff here like family. They are one of the highest, most positive energy teams I've seen at a restaurant. The food is absolutely fresh, delicious and of course, organic read more

A nice restaurant, I went there with my coworkers during a lunch break and dug the atmosphere. The seating is a little cramped, but the art and design match the vision of the restaurant. I love the idea of organic food and decided to order the beef burger. It was spectacular, it came with mixed greens on top (in stead of the usual day-old lettuce you get from most restaurants) and the sweet potato fries were good. While Ruggles Green isn't the most expensive place you'll eat at, expect to dish out more than $10 for a smaller than average portion (though eating well is worth it!). Also: I believe they just started serving breakfast on the weekends. I'll be back to check it out. read more

Great lunch menu - the French onion soup was a winner. We like that they have veggi options & plenty of fish dishes. Actually - my girlfriend & I were kind of confused as to why Ruggles wasn't rated higher on yelp - just another underrated Heights location. Will be going back soon to check out more things. Maybe they can add a happy hour & more beer. read more

Would have been five-star but the service was a bit lacking and the value wasn't quite there...great location, although parking is a pain, and outside on the patio with heaters was superb. Salads were great.. read more

I ordered a chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries, everything was cold and the edges of the chicken were chewy. Fries were limp and under-cooked, and cold. I really wish I could love this place since it's a few minutes walk from my home. The noise level prevents normal conversation. The walk space and self service area is cramped and chaotic. I love Bellagreen. Everything on the menu is delicious. My fav things right now are the goat cheese salad with blackened chicken, the fig & pig pizza and the high protein hemp brownie. Affordable, delicious and great service. read more

Came in after dinner to order white chocolate bread pudding to go. The order was prepped quickly. We were handed a bag for our number and happily left. I hate writing a bad review, especially when I like the food! Their delivery drivers are amazing. Speedy and responsive. Way better than DoorDash... HOWEVER, whoever is bagging the food in the restaurant has repeatedly forgotten items from my order when they put it out for the delivery drivers to pick up. They have forgotten my drinks, desserts, extra salad dressings, sides, etc. It really does appear they are moving too quickly and aren't paying attention to the order that was put in. The food is good, and I am willing to pay more for fresh and healthy options, but to forget parts of my order when I am paying more is not cool. Please pay attention to your delivery orders. I was there for a lunch with a friend on Thursday May 18th-and our experience was wonderful! It was both of our first times and I was very impressed with how extensive the menu was, and that they had protein options and meat alternatives. She had a salad with poppyseed dressing, and I had a chicken caesar wrap-their sweet potato fries are worth going back for all by themselves! It was very busy, but our food came out quickly and correctly. We sat outside on the patio to get away from some of the noise and it worked out well. Another plus was that there was ample parking for a downtown location. Great experience. read more

I really like Ruggles Green! They have a great vegetarian selection and many classic dishes with a healthy twist. I had the veggie tacos, which were excellent! The new location in the heights is a nice, light and bright facility that is very enjoyable. My only complaint about this location is the cashier staff. I went on a Friday at 11:00 -early lunch time. When I approached the cashier to place my order, she told my friend and I to "hold on" and waved us away from the register. When I did approach the register, I noticed that she had an empty Starbucks frappecino cup, complete with chocolate syrup on the inside, sitting next to the register. Gross. After she took our order, I placed my menu to the side of the register, in what looked like a slot for menus. Fail. I was promptly scolded by the cashier who directed me to some EMPTY menu slots, but said in a condescending way, "just give your menu to me and I'll take care of it for you!" Ok, thanks? I spent a total of three minutes at the register and was offended or disgusted exactly three times. As I mentioned above, the food and the atmosphere are great. Fortunately, interaction between the staff and the patrons is minimal. Nonetheless, I hope they can hire some better staff members.. Sometimes, bad service can overshadow the amazing food...I hope that doesn't become the case here. read more

I came here really wanting to love ruggles green. But then they brought out overpriced burnt pita bread with my hummus. After I sent it back for being charred amd unedible, they brought out another order of burnt pita bread. Couldn't enjoy my food. Not sure if I'd come back. Not worth the $$$ read more

I've been here twice for long meals with friends in the past 4 months. Most recently this weekend. I always suggest Ruggles when I am meeting a vegetarian friend or a friend with dietary restrictions, because Ruggles has a reputation of getting it right. I think that the specials don't change that often. The first time I went, I had the blackened chicken wrap and when I went back this weekend, it was still on the specials menu. The restaurant is counterservice, which is nice if you want to linger a bit and not tie up a waiter's table. I've always enjoyed my food. The sandwiches seem a little too bready. My friend was not feeling like being adventurous, so she had a chicken sandwich. It was too unwieldy to eat with the bread, so she ditched it. It wasn't quite toasted, too big and kinda falling apart. Sandwich construction fail. I had the roasted chicken pizza. I loved the toppings and flavors. I only wish that they would cook their pizzas a few minutes longer. The crust was soggy from the toppings and I had to eat the first few bites of each slice with my knife and fork. I'll certainly come back, and parking isn't too bad. I like the decor and there are a few things that I am interested on trying on the menu. The food always looks really good and the servers are super attentive. read more

I can see how parking can be a problem but I was lucky to find a space. I choose a chicken salad sandwich with sweet potato fries. The fries we're cook to perfection!!! I down them in less than 10 minutes. The sandwich was a little small but I wasn't that hungry after those fries. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place! The atmosphere is wonderful, cozy, quaint, and not to mention exceptionally clean. The food is absolutely amazing. I love that most of their menu is offered gluten free, and even if you aren't ordering gluten free, everything in the menu is all natural and made from organic ingredients. Their salads are so fresh and crispy; best salad you can get from a restaurant. Not to mention the homemade dressings that are out of this world. Another favorite is the tomato basil soup with the puff pastry baked on top. Also, the fish tacos are the best! Actually, everything here is amazing! bellagreen - Spinach salad! - New American Near Me - Houston, Texas

The parking lot is pretty small and bigger cars seemed to have a lot of difficulty getting in and out of the spots so beware. We ordered and appetizer and three meals. The appetizer came first, the the child plate at almost the same time. My food came about five minutes later and my sister's was about 10 min. after that. I would have like for it to have come together. I got shrimp tacos which were soggy and the corn tortilla just crumbled. My sister got fish tacos which were the same. The presentation was nice but honestly the tacos look better than they taste. It's just a wet mess. I will just stick with what I usually get next time, the veggie burger or veggie tacos. read more

Fresh fresh fresh!! This place is a definite farm to table restaurant, and I would describe the food as new age hippie.. Everything I've had there is incredible! Plus the staff is always friendly. The roasted chicken pizza is one of my favorites! My wife once order the corn chowder, which I figured was a pretty generic item, but I was wrong! It was the best corn chowder I've ever had! You can tell that they took the time to roast the corn before puréeing it into a delicious soup! If your in the area this is a must try! read more

I normally don't write negative reviews but I could not help myself this time. This was absolute garbage in the name of health food.

BellaGreen - oh how I love your food, the salads, the staff but you HAVE to do something about the fly infested RANCID dumpster sitting in the parking lot. We pulled up and I gagged the entire way into the restaurant. Flies everywhere and water dripping out - you could smell it right when you walked out of the front door. I know, I get it, its hot! But you must find another place to put that thing.. Trust me.. I almost got back in the car from losing my appetite. As did my entire party.. The food is WAY too good and first impressions are well, everything. read more

Great place! I have celiac so they give you a card saying your meal is gluten free but a warning for possible cross contamination. Good to know. I didn't get sick. Great food! I've never seem my husband devour a bigger. We had 3 of our dogs with us the staff was so great the out side porch is where we could sit. We sat far away from the door almost in our own private area where the dogs had plenty of room to lay out without having to worry about the close quarters of tables. Our one dog is a 100 lb Great Pyrenees's so you know he needed plenty of space. I gave 4 stars because the bathrooms were shared male and female. I don't have a problem with sharing a bathroom with a male I have 2 males I live with just could you buy sit protectors for those women who don't like to hover ? Yes had to use toilet paper but seat protectors are so much less of a pain. Overall great place! read more

We were looking for a Gluten Free Friendly brunch place as my 7 year old has celiac disease. I came across bellagreen through Yelp as I do just about all of the restaurants we visit. I want to say that it is a nice warming atmosphere. Only thing I didn't like is that you have to grab a menu and stand in a line . You have to make up your mind while you stand in your line and be ready to order when it's your turn, but I will still give them 5 stars. The cashier was super nice and helpful. I let her know my son has celiac. She was very understanding and addresed my concerns regarding cross-contamination. She Very knowledgeable when I asked for her opinion regarding some of the items as it was our first time there. They have $2 mimosas for labor day weekend. Mimosas are so good and strong. Just the right amount of orange juice. The orange juice was fresh squeezed. I ordered my son the kids GF chicken tenders and fries. He ate the entire thing all the fries just about and all his tenders. He said they were cooked just right. Fries were fresh. I ordered the shrimp and grits. Omg best grits I've had in a long time. The shrimp were a nice size and had great flavor. The GF poppy seed pancake was so fluffy and delicious. I think I should have tried it before I poured the maple syrup, because it was kind of too sweet, but still super delicious. We look forward to returning. We can't wait to return. read more

Parking sucks, staff spraying cleaner next to beverage machine. Bad lighting you can't read menu and feel rushed. Food is flavorful but just ok. Everything costs extra and it seems they've already raised the price of gluten free bun up to $3 really? 2nd and probably last time. Been told several times burgers are grass fed and not all of the sudden they are not. They now claim the buffalo is. By the way the salmon is farm raised. For a green organic restaurant what a joke! I am so happy this place came to the Heights. Before tasting the food I was already a fan. They preserved an aging building and brightened up the neighborhood. The food has been great each time I have eaten there. They have a huge selection and can please any type of eater. The salads are giant, so no leaving hungry. The church lot next store offers plenty of parking and is almost always monitored by someone with Ruggles Green, class act on their part. I love the outside seating and they even have chilled fans in the summertime. Only downside is that its near impossible to walk out of there under $10. read more
