Holy moly this is THE place to go for breakfast/brunch. The restaurant itself sits just outside of a neighborhood in the Heights but it has a dedicated parking lot in front of it. When my group arrived it was pretty busy but we were seated in standard time. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating but it is small so it may not be the best fit for large (6+) parties. I've come here twice because it was just that good. First time, I ordered the sopes and I'm not even joking I was dreaming about these things for days. The second visit I opted for the molletes and was very satisfied. I think its the beans, I'm not sure what they put in the but they keep me coming back for more! My group was also pleasantly impressed with their orders: chilaquiles rojos and french toast topped with fresh seasonal berries. I almost forgot to mention their coffee menu! I ordered the coconut coffee (i forgot the exact menu item name) and it was sweet but tasty. Sunday review: Parking is a headache, get there before the rush, maybe before 10:30 or face having to wait long, look for parking and a very rushed brunch. Eating area is small and crammed, service is fast however it's very rushed. Didn't give my cousin and I a chance to talk and catch up over coffee. She made it clear she wanted us to eat and go! Popped into this little gem for breakfast on a whim and was sat immediately at the bar because it was already busy on New Year's day. Host and our server were friendly and attentive. Started with the cucumber fresca of the day and it was very hydrating, refreshing and delicious. I was told by my friend the coffee was good too. I had the Divorciados which was excellent and my friend had the EL Tradicional (Standard Breakfast) which he very good and filling. This is a nice small restaurant with outdoor seating in the front and on the side of the restaurant. I will definitely comeback because it's close to home. Went here with anticipation due to the mixed reviews of this place, it was definitely good and I would recommend it for others! I would definitely suggest this to smaller parties since the location and parking are both very limited. We were seated pretty quickly and our server was quick to take our orders. The food itself was great for what you get. The portions were relatively big, and the drinks were refreshing! Because we arrived before rush hour we didn't face much pressure to order quickly as other reviews have stated- so take that into consideration when deciding the time you decide to come here. Came here for lunch and had a nice experience in this cozy cafe. At the recommendation of our waitress I ordered the coconut coffee, and it was a decadent and rich way to take coffee - will definitely get it again in the future! For my main I ordered the breakfast tacos with chorizo - they were not greasy, which is great. The red sauce it was served with added the perfect amount of spice. I was pleasantly surprised to find out Cielito opened a new location in the Heights. I also appreciated the parking lot available next to it as this area can be tricky. Located in a small house, the atmosphere was cozy and cutely decorated. We had a few servers check on us who were all friendly. As brunch girlies, we loved the food here! We started off with a chocolate de oalla and green juice. The hot chocolate was comforting, rich, cinnamon goodness. The green juice was cold and freshing. We just moved to this area and have been wanting to try this brunch spot and we were very impressed! It's inside this small converted craftsman right in the neighborhood making it an easy walk for us. We arrived around 9:30 am on a Sunday and were seated right away. The Cafe de Coco had a great flavor and I loved the added toasted coconut on top. I got the Divorciados and my husband got the Chilaquiles and you can't go wrong with either choice. The chorizo and sauces were really tasty. The service was 10/10 and food came out quickly. Only lost one star because I had asked for my eggs over medium and one of them was fully cooked. Overall the experience here was good. We live around 30 minutes away so I was very curious. Parking is across the street. The restaurant is cute on the outside with patio seating and dog friendly. Once you go inside it's very small, definitely not good for big parties. The waitress was very friendly but almost too fast where she never checked on us and wants ppl in and out. We had the huevos divorciados, the cafe de coco, the molletes, and finished with the Mexican churros, and every single bite was phenomenal. The flavors were rich and authentic, and the presentation of the food was incredible. It looked as amazing as it tasted. The service was just as impressive as the food. Our waitress was extremely polite and hospitable, and the busser was very helpful and kind. The manager really stood out. He was personable and checked on us frequently, making sure we had everything we needed and creating such a positive atmosphere. I drove what felt like forever to get to this location, hoping it would be an upgrade from their Montrose spot, (IDK) maybe a bigger space and better parking? But no... it's basically a copy-and-paste with a different address. Can restaurants please start prioritizing parking and atmosphere? Been wanting to check the place out because of all the hype. My chilaquiles were ok. A little spicy, a little dry, with only one egg, which I asked for over medium, but got it overcooked where it didn't have much yolk left and with very little cream and a little slice of avocado. Other places I've tried chilaquiles they give you two eggs and a good serving of cream, etc...I had to ask for extra cream. My cucumber water was good though. Not too sugary. The place was packed on a Saturday around 10:30am. Hard to find parking, managed to get a table but the place is a converted house that is so small that everyone is jammed packed right next to each other. Not very comfortable to enjoy a nice conversation because the other people are right next to you. And it felt a little hot with so many people crammed in there. Front desk staff was friendly but our waitress was very pushy and seemed to be rushing us since the minute we sat down. There were lots of people waiting I guess they wanted us to just swallow our food quickly and go. Overall, didn't enjoy my experience. Too crowded, too rushed, and food I tried was ok. Acceptable food. Rushed service. I have mixed feelings about this place. I visited this morning for the first time. I sat down promptly, and ordered a chocolate de olla while I waited for my friend to arrive. In the meantime, I scouted the menu and decided what I wanted to have for breakfast. My friend arrived and we ordered food and an iced coffee for her. I ordered the huevos divorciados. The portion is quite small, barely a smattering of beans, and the sauces are very spicy. Eggs were cooked nicely (over easy). I also liked my chocolate. However, my biggest concern was the rushed service. Halfway through breakfast, the bill was smacked onto the table. From then on, we were flat out pushed to finish our meal quickly and get out. My friend had ordered breakfast potatoes with her bolillo. Since I was still hungry, I asked if I could have some of her potatoes with the bit of sauce that was left on my plate. While I was eating, two different people came to ask me if they could remove my plate, even though I was clearly still eating. When my friend ordered a box for her leftover food, they also removed the plates and napkins, even though both of us were still working on our drinks. We were asked three times if we wanted to order anything else. Then the waitress walked up to us and told us that we needed to leave unless we were going to order anything else because there were people waiting outside. A few minutes later, I finished my hot chocolate, and the mug was removed as soon as I put it down; the waitress also took my friend's drink, even though she was not done with it (she had about 1/4 of her glass left). I honestly have never experienced anything like this! I like to enjoy my breakfast calmly, especially if I'm catching up with an old friend. So, if you're in a rush to go back home, this might be a great place for you. If you are looking for a lovely experience to chat and hang out with friends, you should probably go elsewhere. Second location to the original cielito! First time trying cielito for brunch and would like to return again. The interior reminds me of Lucille's, seems small but fits quite a few guests. The bathrooms were surprisingly nice too. The food was tasty, we ordered green juice, chilaquiles, an egg dish and corn gordita type appetizer (don't remember the names). The egg dish was pretty ok. Our favorite were the chilaquiles,appetizer and green juice. In terms of service, they were busy as expected on a Sunday morning. Took a few minutes to get offered menus, no biggie. However when it was time to pay our receipt had some extra items on there that we didn't notice until we had already paid. If you're looking for truly authentic Mexican cuisine this is your place! My family is from Michoacan MX, as are the owners of the restaurant and we were all very impressed with the flavors and dish options. By authentic I mean (real Mexican ingredients, queso fresco, not Monterrey cheese, or sour cream instead of crema.) The ambience is wonderful, beautifully converted bungalow and family friendly atmosphere. Our server was at the bar and was very attentive.
