I came here to meet a friend just for a mid-day snack and it's really nice! I ordered their new power-up smoothie and my friend got an aqai bowl. It's counter service so we ordered first then found a place to sit while we waited for the food. Everything was made fresh, which was nice to know. The place was quiet and empty at 4PM but people started showing up to order around 5PM. I really enjoyed the smoothie and the staff are friendly and provide great service, bringing out the food and asking if we need anything else. The restaurant is clean and there's no tables left dirty for long periods of time if a guest was sitting there. I'd definitely come back at a later time for lunch or dinner cause I think this would be a great sunday brunch place to enjoy with friends. read more

Chopshop is a good, quick, and casual place for food. Probably more suited for a casual lunch outing if it's convenient for you. I ordered the hot honey chicken bowl, and it was good but nothing really worth going out of your way for in my opinion. The seating is clean but it's also not the biggest or most aesthetic spot. Service was very fast though, and the staff was very kind with helping me pick a bowl as it was my first time visiting. Overall not bad! read more

I went here on Valentine's Day to get a juice before starting my busy day . I had Green juice I forgot the name . It was tasty. Also tired one of the bowls and this was were I wasn't as pleased. This location is quite consistent whenever I order here in regards to both food and drink. The parking is shared amongst a handful of other establishments but still easy to find. With carry out only spots, it makes it easier for those who want to do a quick grab and go too. The staff are typically on it once you enter and orders are prepared fresh right away. I've been several times to dine in and to-go. They offer protein bowls that are mainly rice or veggie centric topped with your choice of protein, salad bowls with the same idea, acai bowls, fruit or veggie based juices and shakes, sandwiches, and some more. The protein bowls can be hit or miss at times depending on what toppings you choose and how well the kitchen cooks it. I usually like my protein bowls with added egg and extra sauce for additional flavor, but that makes the bowl more expensive than it already is. Filling and satisfying though! The salad bowls are very similar as the base is the only thing that changes for me, so nothing out of the ordinary. It is fresh greens but not the type of fresh you expect from a salad only place. Their acai bowls though, are definitely my number one item I get here. The base is so smooth and not icy/chunky compared to other places. It is also loaded with plenty of fruit and the bowl is filled up well. The smoothies and shakes are also decent with portion size and taste. Having said I've done both dine in and takeout many times at this Original ChopShop location, I find their protein bowls to be good even after reheating them as needed. I recommend their shrimp/steak for protein as well as their Thai coconut and green curry sauces (though not authentic Thai). The flavors mingle well and are more healthful than the typical rice bowls found anywhere else. Just feel good food! Also...they do serve breakfast items too. read more

After much consideration I had their grilled steak sandwich. The sandwich had a lot of flavor but the bread was extremely dry. Damn it, I should have read the reviews before I ordered from here. This place is absolutely terrible and unsanitary, do not order from here. I ordered the lime shrimp bowl with extra cauliflower rice and the bowl looked like it had been have eaten and there was 1 scoop of cauliflower rice. I literally lost my appetite. Edit: To clarify, I did not take a single bite out of that bowl (it looked gross). That's how it looked when i opened it. This was a delivery order. I ordered the Slim Squeeze drink and the Nanner Crunch chia pudding bowl. The Slim Squeeze had a lot of listed ingredients, but I could only taste strawberry. It wasn't spectacular and it was basically just strawberry juice for $8.99. The Nanner Crunch was very good. The texture was great and it was filling. I would order again with a little more chocolate if possible. In all, this order wasn't worth the $18+ (not including fees or tip) I paid for it. UberEats Review - I ordered from here twice in the past year before I moved away from Houston. The first time, I got the Acai bowl + The Club sandwich. The sandwich was delicious and fresh, but the acai bowl base was bland. The fruits were still fresh though, so overall not bad. The second time, I ordered the Coconut Chia Pudding, which was not very good at all. There was barely any flavor to the pudding and the large amount of granola did not help. I had the SPICY KOREAN STEAK and was not impressed with the flavorless bowl. I asked one of the customers who was there how the tea was because it looked good, and she said it was. Honestly I have been coming here for days straight! Their sandwiches are so delicious! It's probably one of these best sandwiches I have ever ate! Do you want to this restaurant because the whole Food kitchen was close for breakfast. We were the first people on there, but took a little bit of time for the order to come to the table. It wants to give off the vibe of healthy food but if you look at the calorie Contant for everything it's quite high. They have wooden chairs that are not very comfortable and meant for you to leave quickly. The breakfast item was tasty and filling, but could easily split into two or three servings. My daughter and I tried this on place for the first time tonight after a trip to nearby Ulta. I ordered a protein bowl, which was very good. My daughter ordered the hummus and veggie sandwich and it was so bad that I had to buy her another (different) meal. She was unable to even pick it up and eat it. It looked like someone put some bread on a plate, dumped an entire container of hummus on it, added a few veggies and put it another bread slice on top. When I asked an employee about it, he said that most people who order that sandwich ask for the hummus on the side. No one said that to us when we ordered and it would have been helpful and maybe my daughter could have ordered something else. I wound up buying 3 dinners for 2 people. The customer service is very hit or miss. There are days when I come in and the restaurant is top notch, clean, and the friendliness from the employees is there. There are other days when the restaurant is dirty, there's food on the floor inside and out on patio tables, and the employees are walking by ignoring. The last visit I had, the manager was walking around the patio to make sure it was clean and welcoming for people. I really appreciate all of that and enjoy coming on days like these. Overpriced! $13 for a small sandwich. No side or anything , just a sandwich. I asked for an iced latte and the cashier told me they don't have an iced coffees. Like that wouldn't be hard to serve a hot coffee on ice and give milk on the side instead of saying they don't have it. I will say this flavor particularly was a 5/5 for me. It was exactly what I was looking for (carbs, spicy Caesar salad...not hard to please). However, I haven't found myself wanting to come back even though I drive past this area pretty frequently. If I did come back, I'd probably just order the same flavor again because it was that good. The Zeppelin is very filling though and kept me good for 2 meals, I just think nothing else on the menu appealed to me (other than the Spicy Tejano) enough to steer away from my go-to sandwich/bowl places if the craving for that type of food ever came. The staff were super friendly though and parking wasn't terrible. I can see why they chose the location since it is a great lunch spot for people in the area tbat want something quick but don't wanna run into the mall/opt for fast food drive thru.

Friends were looking at me crazy. Margherita pizza has no meat already. No, it's the cheese that I can't eat. I think it was very flavorful. I shared it with a couple of friends. Their reactions were opposite. I don't blame them. Vegan cheese is not really cheese. Hahaha. Mashed potatoes was pretty good too. I like the atmosphere and the restaurant opens til late. Food was excellent. Service was pretty efficient. The waitress had a good memory when taking orders. I don't mind coming back.

There were a lot of other items on the menu that sounded fantastic. The food quality was great and the staff was kind. Honestly, this feels like a place that will probably make its way into our monthly rotation. My only small critique is that it's a little on the pricey side. Around $21 each for a bowl is a bit high for a casual Saturday lunch for me. (But with that said, still excited to come back!).

Our food came out and we love the sauces in our designated sandwiches. The sesame roll felt unique. After we ate, Vincent even recommended for the chicken parm to substitute it with Ciabatta bread so it can soak up the marinara dip more. The restaurant and food is a solid four but the staff makes it a five!

It's been about 5 years when I first moved to the loop that I went here with a friend. I had the OG Brussels sprouts which were my favorite when they still had Benjy's in Rice Village. It was a staple for 25 years. They closed in 2020 to expand Local Foods. Pretty bummed because Benjy's was great and had an amazing pecan-crusted goat cheese appetizer with pita. It had more of a cocktail lounge vibe that my friends and I would frequent back in grad school for HH. They had another location off Washington, but that is also closed and is now Forget Me Not. Anyways, the Brussels sprouts were amazing, and I always loved them. I'm glad that Local Foods occasionally features it as a special. I usually gravitate towards the crunchy chicken sandwich. The pretzel bun is everything, and the filling is loaded. If you have a bit allergy, this is not for you. It has pecans in them. I like the added potato chips, too. This time I tried the tacos de camote which was a sweet potato taco. I couldn't find any photos of it on this Yelp page, but I've had sweet potato tacos before in Scottsdale and was hooked. I didn't expect two large wedges on sweet potato lodged in a taco shell. It was delicious and carmelized. You could hear the crunchy outside texture. Loved that. What I didn't love was the difficulty of eating it. The wedges were huge, and the sweet potato was too hot and steamy. It would've been better had they been diced. The pumpkin seed mixture was good but too spicy with the jalapeños. I like spicy food but didn't expect that. The tacos needed salsa or crema to cut through the heat. I picked off the jalapeños and fork and knifed the sweet potato after a few bites with the taco shell. The taco itself is a blue nixtamilized corn tortilla. It held up the taco filling fairly well considering the huge wedge of sweet potato. It also dripped the oil off the sweet potato. I couldn't taste much of the refried beans. I liked these tacos, but it was a little too spicy and didn't have the acid it needed to make it better. I ate the sweet potatoes and nixed the tortillas. As for the sides, I usually get the kale salad because theirs doesn't taste like dirt. Lol. They add enough lemon, pine nuts, golden raisins and Parmesan cheese to make it taste better. I could eat a bowl of that. It's always served in a tiny container. I also get their homemade potato chips. It's dusted with Old Bay seasoning. It can be oily at times, though. This time, I tried a seasonal side of strawberries that was recommended by the guy at the register. It was delicious. The strawberries were soaked in a slightly sweet simple syrup with chopped basil. They have a variety of lemonades, tea, fountain drinks, cocktails and refrigerated beverages to choose from. Lemonade can be too sweet, so I dilute it with ice and water. I like that it's open with the cups and plastic to-go cups if that's your preference. I've always enjoyed what Local Foods offers and like that they offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Service is friendly, and it's a nice, casual place to dine in or on the patio.

Start by ordering at the counter and find a seat where the food will brought directly to the table. So much of their variety caters to all sorts of dietary restrictions from vegan to gluten free to nut free. Their spicy crispy brussels sprouts ($10) are a nice starter, as is the squash "onion" rings ($12). The local power bowl ($16) is a classic and I've always enjoyed the brown rice and quinoa combo. Their chicken "posolé" is solid, and I love the large hominy bits along with the clear but green tint of a broth. The chicken shawarma bowl ($20) is an interesting mix that includes pickled beets and strawberries, along with their market cheddar burger ($17) and fabulous twice cooked fries. The carrot cupcake is strangely addicting, and I think their gluten free brownie is a bit of a sleeper. Some of their items didn't jive with me previously, such as an underwhelming cashew queso ($9), a semi-laughable Vietnamese steak bowl ($22), and their semi-gringo version of a banh mi ($15). It's not that these items are bad per se, but they definitely don't live up to the same standard that I feel their other dishes do best. Where they hit the biggest home run is their customer service. The person who took the order was very friendly and so was the manager who came around to check on our meal. It was so flavorful and the focaccia bun (not gluten free) was incredible! Plus the double cooked fries were delicious! Oh, the side potato salad and kale salad were also delicious!
