    Salmon Bowl
    Nhi V.

Great price for the portion and macros. I got there at 1pm and there was no line. There was a great variety of ingredients to choose from, including some interesting ones such as curried cauliflower, sweet potato, and butternut squash. It was my first time trying farro and I love the texture. Since there were so many options, each bite becomes a texture heaven and flavor bomb. You get the crunch from pumpkin seeds and edamame, the tangy from pickled onions, the slight flavor from curry and yogurt, and of course your choice of meaty protein. The salmon was a bit tough, but seasoned nicely. I recommend getting the dressing on the side.

The management staff was extremely helpful! As a first time customer I was offered a promotion deal to deduct 10 bucks from my 16 dollar order but the QR code didnt work. The manager on duty graciously honored their promotion and sold me the incredible bowl $5.87! Not to mention, all the salmon was cooked on cask iron skillet infront of me. And the veggies were fresh and seared to boot. The seating is open and easily accessible with free wifi and charging outlets. Noise level is moderate. One other thing to mention, this spot inside of understory and closes at 2pm. Hope you get a chance to try the food!

Good quick lunch spot in the food hall. Ingredients felt healthy and was decently filling.

Had an incredible lunch at Farro. I was seriously surprised at how delicious the food was... Wasn't expecting such incredible flavors from a healthy power bowl, but wow! You can build your own bowl or select the suggested combos from their menu. I went with the Baja, to keep it simple, and it packed amazing flavors! Heirloom rice, avocado, crispy tortilla chips, red peppers, cilantro, roasted sweet potatoes, queso fresco, perfectly cooked salmon, and that lemon vinaigrette! Seriously, I'm ready to go back and my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Outstanding find among so many options in the downtown tunnels. There was a small line but moved super quick, under 2 minutes. Great value for the amount of food, quality ingredients, and outstanding flavors. And it's healthy! What's not to like? I wish there was one in my neighborhood where I could have it for dinner - but I guess I'll settle for it being my new lunch spot!

Very filling salad bowls! I've been to Farro several times now, and it always hits the spot. My usual order is the Keto Bowl. What stands out to me the most here is the chicken, which they typically give a generous amount of. My only complaint is the price - while you do get a lot of food, it is more expensive than some of the other lunch spots offering similar items in downtown Houston. For how filling it is and the amount of protein included, however, I will continue to be back every once in a while.

I tried Farro for the first time during the lunch rush. Since I work downtown, our work group loves to go to the tunnel and try new things! We walked towards the Understory area and found this place! It seemed like healthier lunch options so I tried the Vegan one and didn't sub anything because I wanted to try their bowl how it was intended to be eaten. One note- As a person who grew up vegetarian, I never liked imitation meet for ex: plant based nuggets I never tried before but never had the urge to try. The bill came out to be $15.00 without tip- I really didn't enjoy the taste of the bowl, It was definitely healthy but tasted bland even with the sauce they gave it with. It might taste better with other substitutes.

Farro is located at the Understory food court in the Bank of America building. I'd never really paid attention to this place in the past, but a coworker mentioned it so I decided to give it a try. I ordered a BYO Grains bowl through the app Ritual and was able to step away from my desk at work to run downstairs and pick it up quickly. They prepared my meal in a timely manner, and it was DELICIOUS! The portions are generous - I barely got through half my bowl and had to save it for later (and I eat a lot LOL). I chose the Thai chili dressing for my bowl (pictured), and for all the various veggies and the chicken I added, it was well worth the price. If you're looking for something healthy, filling, and tasty, check this place out! I know I'll be back.

Part of Understory set up across from Flippin Patties this build a bowl or wrap presents many different unique toppings, raw & marinated options. They have some good flavors on the marinated vegetables, I added the dill cucumber and the curry cauliflower to my salad which gave the flavor a little pop. Topped it withe a piece of salmon. The only thing I would like is to have them mix the salad, not a fan having everything sectioned and the bowl not really big enough to mix ourselves. I ended up eating all the toppings and really never got to the salad part by the time I was full.

Great option for a healthy build your own bowl lunch! Fresh ingredients and great flavors. I love the curried cauliflowers and the seasoned Brussels sprouts. The lemon dressing to top it all off just gives a fresh and tasty healthy option for my lunch!

Farro Healthy Power Bowl is just that -- Healthy and Powerful! This lunch spot is perfect for choosing something nutritious and delicious, all while suiting your taste perfectly. Since you can choose between building your own bowl or one of the pre-fixed options, it's really easy to cater towards what you're craving in the moment. I would suggest anything on a bed of Farro, and then load up on those veggies! You can't go wrong with any of the dressings, either. They have vegan nuggets, and I'm not even vegan and I love them! I also love the Baja bowl (pictured in one of my pictures), which satisfies my craving for a Chipotle bowl any day. If you're downtown Houston or within the vicinity for delivering, I HIGHLY suggest you try out Farro!

Went here two days in a row when I was in town. Food was fresh and delicious, portions were great and the service was efficient and helpful. It's in a cool spot that has WiFi and tons of work space.

For those of you that want a healthier meal option Farro is the place for you. With different options for both wraps and power bowls, you'll feel full and recharged in no time. Although I'm not vegan, I suggest their vegan bowl. They have a nice balance of veggies and their balsamic sauce is LIFE. Cheers folks!

Any waiter we have had here has given GREAT recommendations so it helps us break free of ordering the same thing over and over. We have never had a single day of bad service here so we have become regulars anytime we travel into the inner loop of Houston for business or fun. The flavors? My goodness the flavor here in every dish truly speaks to whoever is cooking these incredible dishes! We've even wanted to ask what we can do to even get our dishes at home this amazing! Their bang bang sauce is something you can rave about if you like a little kick to your broccoli. Yum! Luckily a lot of the appetizers are family style but we all still end up battling to finish the last bite before our main dish comes along! Beautiful presentation and the flavors were yummy of the Texas toast French toast, the oat whipped cream & maple syrup were great. The Jupiter breakfast was $21 & the GF French toast was about $12 with $4 fruit cup. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my GF French toast. The mock-tail mule was nothing special for $9 of juice :/. In total we spent $58 which is a lot in our opinion. By all means it's not a bad spot and I'm sure other things you are good, but this was just our experience with what we got. There is a statue of a deity in the front of the restaurant & I welcome the Holy Spirit to come upon them all :). May Jesus be with them with eyes to see and ears to hear. The grounds of the temple is well manicured and neat with flowers. A big red sign read, "Govinda" was positioned so that I wouldn't miss it. As soon as I walked in at lunch time, the restaurant was damn near empty with only two families. The host immediately sat me at a table front of the buffet line. There was a strong lingering smell of pine-sol and Mr. Clean in the air. Of course, that indication told me that the restaurant was clean. The items on the buffet line was plenty, but limited. I got the rice, tofu curry, chaat marsala, and some vegetables. Everything except for the chaat was bland. It wasn't very easy to eat while the smell of cleaning supplies was in the air. It reminded me of sitting in a bucket of cleaning chemicals while eating a meal. The tofu curry tasted only like turmeric, but no salt or pepper or anything. The rice was super bland. The chaat marsala was very tasty and well seasoned. I finished off with desserts which both options were tasty. I hope to return to try their holiday menu, but I think today was a bad day for the cooks.

Since the dishes are different every day, there's really no guarantee that you'll be safe, and cross contamination is a possibility since it's a buffet line. I tried to email ahead of time but never got a reply. We arrived around noon on a Wednesday and there was plenty of seating inside. There is a lot directly across the street for Govinda's customers. Cafeteria buffet-style line. Don't overcrowd your plate, just go back for seconds. Since the menu changes daily, I don't think there's much of a point to review specific dishes. I will say that there's a nice variety of salad, soup, and homemade feeling Indian dishes that everyone really liked. I particularly enjoyed the salad dressing (an avocado cream), the veggie lentil soup, and the spinach potato dish. Unfortunately, the special of the day or a dish near it (the soya Manchurian? Or the curry?) triggered some kind of inflammatory allergic reaction for me, so I had to stop eating. I did try some of the mango cake, which had a great soft and moist texture that I'd definitely have again. -1 star because of the allergic reaction but overall, everyone I went with really enjoyed the food and the service was welcoming and attentive for a buffet. The ambiance is great and it's a lovely setting all around.
