They had the same menu items and I noticed the prices increased since I last been. The cashier was a bit timid, he talked so low but he was as helpful as he could be. The ambiance is exactly the same. It's intimate and small, cool for a private or solo outing. I would say the music was up a bit louder than expected but it was cool. Now shall we????? The food. Cali ($13) : 4/10 - simply put. No flavor. Fried well though. Not the same. Lil Red BBQ ($12) - 8/10 - The jackfruit could've been seasoned more but the texture was great. My girlfriend liked how soft the bread was also. The BBQ was also good. Notyo Salad ($13) -8.5/10 - This was the most consistent item on the menu. The only thing I can say about it was that it needed more sauce to cover the amount of arugula and micro greens that came on it. But y'all ITS FLAVORFUL. The lime flavor with the avocado. It's MUAAAAHHHHH :* Sweet Potato Fries ($3/each) - 8.5/10 - Fried well. Good portion for price. Left us feeling light. My rating... this is an affordable and great health spot. If you're paying attention they inform people about their needs, ingredients included in the meals, and what the benefits are. If you are new to vegan food this is a great start. I placed an online order for 8 items 4 days before the scheduled pick up time today. When I got there not only my food was not ready for pickup, they could not find it by the order number they have texted me. Finally they found the order by my name and their responses were as follows: - it's for Friday (my response: I placed the order on Friday. The pickup is now) - we called you to tell you two of your additions were not raw (my response: you didn't leave a message) - something suggesting a miscommunication between order received and the kitchen. They then told me it would take less than 15 minutes to prepare it. I agreed. However it took half an hour. So far, I have tried their soulberger, nori rolls, raw cheesecake, and rawritto. It was a nice greeting upon arrival. The cashier kindly answered my question about kelp noodles. I got the Tigerbowl, unfortunately it was not what I expected but it taste ok. It was a very small entree for $11. I expected more noodles, but it was more microgreens, the almond sauce was a bit sweet. Now the Green Zing juice was really good, the ginger is the first taste but I tasted the kale and cucumber. If i go back again I will get more juices. I don't frequent with this place as much as I should. But the Texas burger and the dill sweet potato fries are fabulous and I'm not vegan. I go here just for these because they are delicious. I can easily substitute this for a beef burger at any time. The service is good. They're nice. Let me tell you, I had every intention of trying a new restaurant today, but couldn't bring myself to it because a specific Latini craving was calling my name. We all have our favorites, and for me, growing up all over the states, Green Seed Vegan does now and has always felt like my soft place to land here in Houston. From the company that frequents this spot to the way the sun shines to illuminate the shiny seats and delicious, nutritious food, this intimate spot just feels like home...and I'm not even vegan. The cauliflower nuggets with sauce and Latini panini are decedent and packed with flavor, while the Zen panini offers a fresh slightly spicy punch to the tastebud. Although there are my picks, I'm sure you can't go wrong with any menu item. I personally love seeing the representation of the versatile food offerings within our diaspora, and this spot always does it in a way that showcases the bold flavors that make our meals so enjoyable. While you may encounter a wait for your meal (my last 2 visits I've waited atleast 15 minutes for my meal to arrive, even when I was the only one in the restaurant), and it's certainly not cheap (2 paninis and cauliflower nuggets ran me just under $40) the food is worth it! read more

Green seed used to be one of my favs when I was vegan. I was in the area and hadn't been in awhile so I wanted to go and get some of the delicious cauliflower nuggets. I paired it with a mango smoothie this time. My total for these two items was almost $16. The nuggets were $8 for just a few of them.. lol. They were delicious as usual but for the price, I would expect to get a bit more. The smoothie was good too. But everything was kind of pricey for just a side and a smoothie. Also wish the service was a little friendlier.. when I was called up to the register to get my order, the gentleman at the counter was looking down at his phone when I said thank you. I was across the street at the food truck festival and because I'm fasting, I was excited to see Green Seed Vegan right across the street. I walked over, because we had already parked, and went in to order a juice. The parking lot is pretty small even though they have a good amount of outdoor and indoor seating for patrons. So you'd have to find street parking on a busy day. There were 2 patrons outside and 3 inside when I got there. The cashier came out and welcomed me, which was different than what some of the other reviews were saying so I was happy about that. I had tons of questions and he patiently answered all of them. He suggested I get the pina verde ($10 per bottle) as it had no added sugars and was perfect for someone fasting. He was right!!! The juice was delicious but not sure if I'd ever pay $10 again for an average size bottle of juice, healthy or not. I do plan on coming back to try the food. read more

I've been here about 3 times and all the food I've tried has been good. It's a little expensive (borderline overpriced) but the quality makes up for it in my opinion. I'd advise against the sides, especially the Cali Nuggets, because the portion is skimpy for the price. The paninis and handhelds like the Big Tex are decently filling and a fair value. I don't like their online ordering system. This place takes awhile to prepare the freshly made food so ordering ahead is ideal but they charge a 12-15% service fee for ordering online (in addition to any tip). They also have an online pickup order minimum of $15 which is tough if I just want a panini for myself. I might try calling them next time to avoid the dumb fee but that's inconvenient for me as well as the restaurant. read more

Today at 9 months pregnant I came all the way here as soon as they opened and I was their first customer of the day. I spent almost $60 and I noticed my raw vegan tacos had barely any cashew cream on top. I walked inside and was told by a short bald man with a red neck tattoo ( I think a kiss?) that there wasn't any missing as if he made it. I assured him it was very light on two of them and one had nothing. To offer a solution ( since he wasn't) I ASKED if I could have a SMALL cup of cashew cream and I would put it on my taco. I was told it would be $3. I was told to go to the car get the food and show him my tacos. I really didn't feel like going all the way to the car, So I almost said never mind, as I had already decided I wouldn't be back. I wanted to prove my point, so I went to get the food and brought it and they added the cashew cream to the tacos. My thing is why couldn't you just give me the small tiny cup of cashew cream, it's still a pandemic and you want me to bring OPEN food into your kitchen. Second, he was snotty about it. I supported this restaurant ALL the time at least 2-3 times a month because it is vegan and black owned. When ever I come I spend at least $50+ , especially when I buy their juices. This restaurant is 50 minutes away from my home 1hr 15 with traffic. The reviews about the small portions are correct but its a small business so I try to be understanding, however I've come here and a couple times had things missed from my order but I never say anything because I don't usually notice until I get all the way home or halfway home. The girl behind the counter was super sweet and helpful and the mango smoothie i got was so delicious, like the flavor of 100 smoothies went into it. The Garden sandwich was mostly bread and three thinly sliced veggies, i dont know why they went so light on fillings for a sandwich at that price. Other people have said they like it but the cheesesteak to me was so nasty, I threw it away. The strawberry/blueberry smoothie also tasted very strong of just almond milk. The customer service is always great & the food is ready in a timely manner. I love the text option. Yes! You can text your order to them & they will reply. So far I've tried the rawritto, cauliflower nuggets, lil req BBQ, tacos, smoothie & a few juices. I'm happy to say I've enjoyed them all. I think I get the lil red bbq too often. Not only are they one of the few to have delicious, affordable, filling raw options; they have amazing juices and a great sit down venue. This place is small, reliable, and is a bit of a sanctuary for all things yogi, health, and peace seeking. I've tried a number of items off the menu and never been disappointed. The paninis are a great lunch option. Location is a bit tight with parking. It is across the street from a park where I often sit to eat if not in the outdoor seating. I don't know why it's taken me so long to check out Green Seed Vegan. But I'm glad that I finally dropped in for lunch. The entire menu is vegan and is sectioned by: panini, 'handheld delights,' raw vegan, gluten-free desserts, sides, cold-pressed juices, smoothies, shots, elixirs. WIth so many delicious-sounding choices, I was torn. But ultimately opted for the illy cheesesteak sandwich (grilled portabella mushrooms, caramelized red onions, cheese, mayo & mustard on a whole wheat french baguette). I decided to forgo the bread and make it a collard green wrap. It made it a bit more messy and difficult to eat, but I managed. Great seasoning, plenty of mushrooms. Definitely had the taste and consistency of a philly cheesesteak - but vegan and cruelty-free! Service was fast, the cashier was well-versed in the menu and had great recommendations. I ordered the Illy cheesesteak. I would not recommend it. It was chopped Mushrooms and onions. For me I needed something more to add flavor. I asked for lettuce and tomatoes to add some texture and flavor. It was odd that after my request of a staff that was walking by she asked me to go to the register. I'm not vegan. But, I have had this spot bookmarked for some time because the food looked delicious. We perused their menu and other yelp reviews before we decided on what to order. We got their Latini and Zen panini sandwiches, as well as their cauliflower nuggets and dill fries. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of flavor their sandwiches delivered. The Latini sandwich reminds me of a southwestern sandwich, especially with the avocados and cilantro. The Zen panini was closer in taste to a banh mi. Both had a slight kick to them from the jalapeños. They were hearty sandwiches, and we were quite full after eating them. But, we did have room for their sides. Of the two, I would definitely get the cauliflower nuggets again. They were delicious and well seasoned. The dill fries didn't have too much dill flavor. So, they just tasted like regular fries. This spot has a pretty small parking lot. But, there were people coming and going here a lot throughout the night. Overall, this a great spot to grab a quick, and healthy lunch/dinner. I've been to green seed vegan a few years ago and decided to go again for a late lunch around 3pm. When we arrived the parking in front of the restaurant was full but there was a free lot of the left side of the restaurant across the street. When we arrived we ordered the garden fresh panini and it took forever to come out! We decided to take it to go but after what felt like 30+ minutes, we recieved our food and I was a bit underwhelmed. I didn't like the bread for the panini they used. I also read the YELP check-in discount wrong. It was not for a smoothie but for the add on to the smoothie so we decided to take out the smoothie from the order. I've been plant based for 2yrs now and I can't believe I haven't tried this place! First of all let's acknowledge this black owned business. I got the PB&P Panini with Dill Sweet Potato Fries. Peanut Butter, Plantain, and Spinach on a panini, who would thought. PB&J is one of my favorites, so I had to try this and is was delicious. It had a sweet yet savory taste. And I especially love the spinach on there. Now the fries. I love fries of any kind but dill seasoning on a sweet potato fry was different and I enjoyed it very much. I also got a chlorophyll juice. If you're looking for a true vegan spot Green Seed Vegan is your place. I really wish I had an appetite when we went here. Needless to say, I did try the Strawberry Mango Smoothie and it was amazing! Full of flavor and easy to digest. The host was knowledgeable about the menu, and recommended a few items to my family and yes we got them all. The immunity shot was good it had a little kick, but it was needed. Our toddler had a juice that was naturally sweet. I cannot remember the name, but we ended up buying two. The location is definitely in a tight spot with limited parking, yet if you're looking to pickup and go you should be fine. They do have seating indoor and outdoor, yet it's for small parties. The food is really good, but the portions are kind of small for the price. If you ask for extra sauce, you have to pay for it and it comes in a TINY paper cup, literally something like a half- or quarter ounce. Parking is tight also, as another reviewer pointed out. Their smoothies and pressed drinks are also expensive and come in plastic containers. Not really bueno for the environment. It's worth checking out though, if nothing else than for the 100% vegan, no-soy menu, which also includes gluten free items. It's extremely hard to find no-soy in any vegan or vegetarian restaurant, so this place gets kudos for that alone. They're setting the example for others to live up to! I came here after not being able to eat anything at a nearby vegan restaurant because most of their menu items contain nuts. I was concerned that this place would also be a disappointed as well, because they advertise raw entrees. I did not realize they also sold cooked foods. Parking was a little tricky, but once inside I was delighted to see they have numerous offerings without nuts, or the nuts can be eliminated. The young lady at register was more than helpful asking the cooks which items were safe for me. I ended up ordering the Cali burger (minus the aioli and sauce) and Kale salad (contains tahini). Cali burger - I requested they add mustard since I had to remove all the nut based sauces. The burger was made to order and delicious. It contained a huge cauliflower floret breaded and fried. The burger also had red onions, tomatoes, arugula and a wheat bun. I was concerned that the cauliflower would not have been cooked all the way through because of how thick it was, but they did an outstanding job cooking it to the perfect texture. A Kale salad - very good. Bruised kale tossed with a tahini dressing. I wish they would have added more to the salad like dried tomatoes or onions, but it was still good by itself.
