They make An Almond Joy, the best smoothie ever. Includes dates as a sweetener. If I am anywhere close by and swing by and get one on the go.

4 years later and the food is even better! The service is excellent, the ambiance is very chill, warm and welcoming. I had the Latini Panini this time and it was delicious!

Let me tell you, I had every intention of trying a new restaurant today, but couldn't bring myself to it because a specific Latini craving was calling my name. We all have our favorites, and for me, growing up all over the states, Green Seed Vegan does now and has always felt like my soft place to land here in Houston. From the company that frequents this spot to the way the sun shines to illuminate the shiny seats and delicious, nutritious food, this intimate spot just feels like home...and I'm not even vegan. The cauliflower nuggets with sauce and Latini panini are decedent and packed with flavor, while the Zen panini offers a fresh slightly spicy punch to the tastebud. Although there are my picks, I'm sure you can't go wrong with any menu item. I personally love seeing the representation of the versatile food offerings within our diaspora, and this spot always does it in a way that showcases the bold flavors that make our meals so enjoyable. While you may encounter a wait for your meal (my last 2 visits I've waited atleast 15 minutes for my meal to arrive, even when I was the only one in the restaurant), and it's certainly not cheap (2 paninis and cauliflower nuggets ran me just under $40) the food is worth it!

Green seed used to be one of my favs when I was vegan. I was in the area and hadn't been in awhile so I wanted to go and get some of the delicious cauliflower nuggets. I paired it with a mango smoothie this time. My total for these two items was almost $16. The nuggets were $8 for just a few of them.. lol. They were delicious as usual but for the price, I would expect to get a bit more. The smoothie was good too. But everything was kind of pricey for just a side and a smoothie. Also wish the service was a little friendlier.. when I was called up to the register to get my order, the gentleman at the counter was looking down at his phone when I said thank you. I'm not sure if I will be back any time soon.

I was across the street at the food truck festival and because I'm fasting, I was excited to see Green Seed Vegan right across the street. I walked over, because we had already parked, and went in to order a juice. The parking lot is pretty small even though they have a good amount of outdoor and indoor seating for patrons. So you'd have to find street parking on a busy day. There were 2 patrons outside and 3 inside when I got there. The cashier came out and welcomed me, which was different than what some of the other reviews were saying so I was happy about that. I had tons of questions and he patiently answered all of them. He suggested I get the pina verde ($10 per bottle) as it had no added sugars and was perfect for someone fasting. He was right!!! The juice was delicious but not sure if I'd ever pay $10 again for an average size bottle of juice, healthy or not. I do plan on coming back to try the food.

This place is really good, but oh my! It's expensive! I got a large kale salad, that cost $10, and it was literally 8 bites. The to go container was no where near full. I'll be checking the box the next time I get something to go.

If your looking for a great spot for vegan food dishes, juices and smoothies green seed vegan is the place to visit. The customer service was a bit dry and uninviting and their dining area was completely empty. While I awaited my smoothie I music ambiently played in the background which made the wait pleasant. Also, the location is easy to access!

Yummy! I tried the Nori Rolls and the Dill Fries. I enjoyed both and the fries were very yummy but tbh I didn't really taste the dill? It definitely tasted like something but not dill in my opinion. Still good! Not super filling though.

Food is good, the portion on the fries is like I'm a 8 year old with a happy meal. Mixed on returning but maybe so :)

I wasn't sure what to expect, so I brought along a shopping bag for food. When I arrived, only me and a small family were there. Farmer Joe walked around with us and picked out fresh vegetables for us! It got to a point where my bag was completely full and I had to decline any more. I got eggplant, collards, fresh herbs, swiss chard, broccoli, flowers, and a jar of raw honey. Farmer Joe was suuuuper nice. He explained to us how the farm operates and how they give food to the food bank across the street free of charge for neighborhood families. I won't reiterate information you can find on their website, but they are a great organization! When it was time to pay (cash only), the price was unbelievable for the amount of organic food I had received. (Both me, and the family, paid $5 to $10 extra as a donation to the farm- he said we didnt have to, but we insisted.) I will probably be coming here weekly to pick up greens instead of visiting the grocery store, even if it is out of the way. Not only are you able to get farm-fresh organic food, LITERALLY picked that day, for a low price, you are also helping a farm that gives a lot back to the community. I will also be back to volunteer! TL;DR: Great organic food for cheap. Bring cash when you go, and be sure to chip in some extra cash for donation.

They seem to have a pretty diverse offering of food and even allowed us to pick out our own produce. The staff was very knowledgeable on growing and taking care of plants and was extremely friendly with any questions we had. They are pretty kid friendly as well and we found that many other parents bring their kids to hang out as well. They were pretty relaxed and laid back and just let the kids run free and roam around the property as they pleased which was really nice. The crowd that was there was pretty diverse which was pretty cool. I am not sure if this is how the pricing always works but they gave us a standard size grocery bag and told us we could fill it with whatever we wanted for $5 which I thought was an unbelievable deal. They do everything local, sustainable and organic as well. Naturally I gravitated to the kale plants as its one of my favorite greens and its does not get much better than picking it fresh off the plant. My only concerning observation was that the place seemed kind of like an utopian dream. The location is pretty unique in that is it located in one of Houston's less glamorous neighborhoods which can be totally overlooked but I noticed that very little of the people from the community seemed to be attending and participating. This is concerning since having the community backing up the establishment could be really useful for expansion. But education folks on healthy eating habits is a challenge so no pun intended. Also, as much as I love the easy going type of environment that they create, a little bit more order in the way that they do business could be very useful for them and consumers. All that aside, I highly recommend this place, especially if you live by. There is a great crowd of people to interact with, experts on growing food, kid friendly and open minded environment that is very welcoming and they also do a lot of events regularly which are mostly free to attend. Make sure to check them out and support them because there are not a lot of places like this in Houston.

Unironically the best sushi restaurant in Downtown Houston, since Covid killed all the others. With a large selection of rolls taking up most menu. Interior has 10ish shops with no various cuisines. Service is pretty minimal; they take your order and you go and pick up your order when it's ready. We tried a bunch of items on the menu; from the tuna tower to the specialty rolls and crudo. For the price point, it's very similar to Bluefish and Azuma. There's quite a bit of fusion style. The sashimi and crudo were both alright, and the rolls were also good but also somewhat forgettable and basic (like you've had elsewhere). Overall, it seems like a quick lunch stop style sushi spot in a nice and new food hall. Is it mind blowing? Nope, but everything is also on par with a mid- level sushi restaurant.

For appetizers, I highly recommend the yellowtail sashimi. I'm sorry I didn't post a picture - I was SO hungry. I literally ate it like candy. Speaking of candy, it has Pop Rocks on top of the yellowtail. See how I tied that in, kids? My friends (also Yelp Elite) and I decided to do everything family-style. Since it's Restaurant Week (really Restaurant Month), we ordered a bunch of appetizers. The blue crab hush puppies were my second favorite. I wasn't a huge fan of the heirloom tomato because the wheat bread was way too thick for my liking. I would have preferred sourdough. But let's be honest - the reason I come here is for the mac & cheese and steak. I got the steak flight, which is about $110, but it's worth every penny. The Wagyu literally cuts like butter. The sides are HUGE and easily shareable with four people, so keep that in mind when ordering. Unfortunately, my friend did not enjoy his swordfish. His exact words were, "It tastes like dried chicken." My wife ordered the salad and absolutely loved it. Once again, the portion was enormous. If I'm judging this place solely on the wine, steaks, sides, and atmosphere, it's an easy five stars. You just have to know what to order. I was definitely disappointed to hear about the fish, but everything else keeps bringing me back.

The tomato toast was not overhyped and definitely worth getting. The bread is nice and oily yet still crusty and crunchy. The tomatoes and greens on top paired perfectly with the sourdough. - The warm broth doesn't seem like much from pictures and description but it was just so comforting and had nice umami. The green onions really bring out the rest of the flavors. - Ratatouille: this was one of our server's recommendations. I thought it was pretty good but slightly too sour/over-pickled for me. (I'm also not a big pickle person) - Butternut squash: This was probably the next best dish after the toast and broth. All the flavors and texture were there except the squash was a little hard. It could've been cooked a little longer to make it easier to cut through. I guess it is out of season, but still. - Squab aka pigeon: Also pretty good. The dried raspberries actually pair very well with it. Ambiance: 4/5 - The space is extremely small so you really need reservations. - It's so small that the tables are quite close together. But they were also not evenly spaced out so we tried to move our table away from the people next to us (we were practically touching!) and the staff insisted that we don't move them because they need to access the cutlery in the drawer on the side of the table?? First of all, they could've still accessed it after we moved the table. Second, if the space is that tiny, why not just store the utensils elsewhere? Very odd and didn't like that vibe.
