Why 5 stars? Because after far too long, I finally made it here, and it was worth the wait. --- --- --- I discovered Crumbville over a year ago and it just never worked out for me to stop in and visit. Despite it not being super close by where we at lunch, I made it a point that it finally had to happen. And why did I wait so long?? When we first walked in, there was a line of people waiting to pay for what they'd picked out. But, the owner, despite being busy with all of these people, still greeted us and was going over all of the different options in the store, while she was ringing up people in line. When we made it to the front of the line, she could not have possibly been a friendlier human. It's no wonder the reviews here are so amazing, because even if you don't absolutely love the goodies, you can't help but enjoy coming in here. As for what we bought: Mayniac Munch = 4.5 stars. Red velvet, chocolate chip pecan cookie dough & oreos. This was solid when we snacked on a couple bites in the car, but so amazing when we got home and heated it up a little bit. Best of Both Worlds = 4.5 stars. Fudge brownie topped with chocolate chip pecan cookie dough and cream cheese. This was my wife's choice and something I wasn't super excited about. But I took one bite and next thing I knew, I had eaten half of it! Butter ThickHER Thana Snicker = 5 stars. Moist Butter cake with our Signature ThickHER Thana Snicker cookie (rich chocolate dough filled with peanuts, chocolate, Caramel, nougats & popcorn) baked inside. This was absolutely stupid good. 5 stars doesn't do it justice. How about 15? The icing was amazing too. And the best part was that I didn't feel awful after eating it. I don't know what she puts in this stuff to not give me an immediate stomach ache full of regret afterward, like most baked goods, but it's heaven. I will not wait 14 months to make my next visit, I promise you that.
OMG. I love this place and I love the owner. So inviting! We talked about the products there and a whole bunch of other things. I don't have any pics of the ALL the cookies I bought and I bought a few. Lol. Because I and my family ate. If I'm honest mines more interested in trying them than taking a pic. They are SO SO SO good. They are soft just like a like them. And they are a great size. I was shocked that I only paid $30 for all of the things I got. I will make that 45 min drive to the other side of town to get more.
Brownies, Cookies & Cupcakes oh my! They day I stopped by here it was Admin Day at work and my coworkers called me to find a place to get something sweet for our amazing admin. Searched Yelp and at the time I was picking up food from M&M Grill on Almeda so I searched yelp between where I was and downtown and thats how I came to find Crumbville. Arrival - literally drove right past it bc the sign is a little lower than I expected. Inside - Mask Required, they provide if you don't have. All pastries are individually wrapped...2 cookies in a package - all items $7 Fat soft cookies with thick chunks of chocolate or nuts. - surprised on how they aren't overly sweet. Cupcakes have cookies inside of them. So many exciting flavors to choose from. Sadly no really gift style carry out option, but they did level up the paper bags with a little artistic flair which was much appreciated.
Ella is such a hard worker and produces incredible and delicious baked goods. I can not get enough of her treats. It makes me so happy that this business also provides vegan options as I'm lactose intolerant! Customer service is phenomenal and oh so very welcoming! I love so much. Best cupcakes in town, so sweet and moist. The whole vibe of this bakery is amazing. The owner was so welcoming and even customized my bag with my name handwritten as a "hug" from her. My first visit there and definitely will not be my last.
Honey, what didn't go well. Service 10 out of 10 the owner is fabulous. She gave a full description of every item in her store, a little bit of backstory about how she started and you can tell that everything in there is made with love. I love the set up. It's really cute, I love how she has her cookies and cupcakes displayed, and a description of each item. She has beautiful artwork all around the shop most of it created by her son, the creativity runs in the family. Everything looked so delicious. I wanted to try everything. I did have the vegan carrot cake stuffedcup , and vegan chocolate chip cookie and caramel pecan crunch cookie. The cupcake is moist, and they have a cookie inside of them. This is definitely the best vegan cupcake I have had, I thought it might be a little sweet, but it's not overly sweet at all. It's the perfect amount of sweetness. 9.3/10. The cookies are soft and delicious. Everything has such a nice balance. Nothing is super sweet, and it's the perfect amount of chocolate . I love the texture of the cookies and it doesn't matter if you're vegan or not she does a traditional and vegan versions of most of her flavors and you can definitely taste all the love that she bakes inside of them. The cookies I had were 9.8/10. This is a gem and a must try.
It's a really small shop off of emancipation. I was actually surprised i had never seen it before bc i've driven down that way before many times. I saw it on tiktok and wanted to go try it. The owner was very sweet and went through everything i needed to know about her desserts. She even had samples of different flavors of cupcakes. She has a very good business model and i appreciate the amazing customer service. The cupcake was $7 , a bit pricy. I thought the cupcake was very moist but i wish the cream cheese frosting tasted more of cream cheese. I do love the concept of a cookie baked into a cupcake tho. i understand the price but i probably would come back to try a cookie. cause she had some red velvet cookies that looked amazing. Great vibes in here.
I am not usually a sweet tooth, but I will make an exception for Crumbville. I visited for the first time about a week and ordered a selection of cupcakes and cookies to go. Wow! These were some of the best sweets I have ever tried. My favorite were the cupcakes. I had the Sweet Potato Cupcake and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Snicker Crunch Cupcake. The cupcakes were heavenly moist, buttery, flavorful and topped with a creamy frosting. The cookies were soft with a just a hint of crunchiness. I tried the Midnight Toffee Crunch Cookie and the Mayniac Munch Cookie and both were delicious. Please make it a priority to visit Crumbville next time you are in Houston.
It's been a few years since I've been here, and although a new location, it's the same beautiful and welcoming energy, and a delicious product! I was so happy that my group quickly jumped on board when I through out the idea of getting a sweet treat . The cookies are fresh and have just the right amount chew to them. I got the chocolate chip and all I needed was a glass of Almond milk. We all enjoyed our experience. Also, we thought it was so personable how she wrote our names on the bags : )
Love their wide selection of baked goods. They have vegan AND gluten free recipes as well. The stuffed cupcakes are a surprise in my mouth every time. The chocolate chip cookies are a classic as well. You can never go wrong with anything here.
There's nothing, nothing, that will bring you out of a depression faster than a delicious cupcake from Crumbville. I had, by chance, found this magical place, but didn't have a lot of time to explore so I knew I'd have to come back. Today presented that opportunity. Ella, the owner, is so welcoming and so knowledgeable and so passionate about her incredible desserts. I too am now passionate about them. I wanted to get a few to make me feel better, these past few days have caused me to fall into a depression, these cupcakes led me out of that with so much flavor and depth. I'm not sure I'll ever be depressed again knowing this place exists. I looked over all of the cupcakes, because that is what I came for even though she has other offerings like decadent cookies.I decided I wanted the blueberries and cream cheesecake, the banana pudding, the sweet potato butter pecan crunch and the vanilla peachy cob-a-licious. I was very surprised by my favorite. It was the blueberries and cream cheesecake! I definitely thought it was gonna be vanilla pudding, which definitely came in second place. It is so divine that I don't really have words for what you feel when you bite into it. It's an explosion of flavor, the most moist of cake, the delicious frosting, it will soothe your soul. I loved the other ones as well, but this one really is other level. I won't go into all of the flavors that I got because I have to say the other three all tied for second. They all have the same delicious frosting, the moist cake and The center of each has something in it but I wasn't quite sure what it was, but I really didn't need to know because it was amazing as well. Just know that every bite will lift you up. Just incredible. So lucky to have found this place.
Desserts are one of those things that kind of just always tasted good to me, but never really unique or great...Most red velvet cakes taste similar just like most chocolate cakes right? Idk it's pretty hard to completely butcher a dessert in my opinion, but this place opened up a new world to my palate. Ella greeted me at the door and asked what I had a taste for. She was so sweet, personable, cleanly and informative. She explained how everything was compartmentalized (vegan/gluten free/non vegan options) and I was wide eyed at it all. I decided to try the strawberry cheesecake and red velvet stuffed cups. Both are not like anything i've tasted before, most importantly though the quality is exclusive....So moist, so flavorful so damn exciting. I think everyone needs to come check out this cute shop for themselves, words won't do justice. Ella, I will be back to try all stuffed cups.
This place is a POI! Black female owned and her high vibrations are felt by everyone! Her baked goods are truly made with love and the extensive vegan options are unmatched! No where else does vegan desserts like this. And for our dairy crew you will not be disappointed either. Her shop is cute inside, service is stellar, desserts are amazing. I will keep telling people about this place! I don't give high praise everywhere. This is definitely a hidden gem that whoever finds must protect!

Crumbville is such a unique bakery and record shop with a beautiful atmosphere and positive vibe. It has an old school Third Ward feel, but also reflects a contemporary mindset. I read somewhere that the bakery is set to close soon and wanted to share a few thoughts regarding how important this bakery is, not only to my original childhood neighborhood, but the city itself. What I love: how the building looks on the outside and inside; the owner is very kind, friendly and eager to converse with visitors; and the idea that you can purchase an album by The Jungle Brothers, David Axelrod, Andre 3000, De La Soul or D'Angelo along with sweet treats from the bakery is just so cool. As a cratedigger who loves buying records, this is just so impressive to me. The great artwork hanging on the walls is another plus. A family member bought a delicious strawberry cake for my birthday a few years back, and that was my first introduction to Crumbville. The owner's decision to offer vegan and gluten free desserts was a smart decision, but she also offers regular baked goods. During my first visit recently, I purchased a strawberry cupcake, which had a lime-flavored cookie base. It was sublime and reminded me so much of the birthday cake from years ago. Service was great here. Overall, I just love this place. It makes me smile, and I will be very sad to see it go. read more
Do yourself a favor, run ... don't walk to Crumbville! You won't regret it and if you run you will actually earn the dessert! :) I have wanted to try Crumbville for a while now, but never seem to find myself in that area. Yesterday, I had a hankering for a cupcake, and it was rainy so I had zero interest in going anywhere. I found that Crumbville is on the Favor app, so I figured, why not? I ordered the Blueberries & Cream Cheesecake cupcake. Wow, it was liking having a blueberry muffin, with loads of blueberries, and icing on top. It was so good!! I also ordered the Strawberries & Cream Cheesecake, Vanilla Peachy-cob-a-licious and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Snicker Crunch. All of the cupcakes are just so fresh and tasty. They are literally the best I have ever had. I fully plan on stopping in sometime to check out the location. I hear the service is amazing, and I cannot wait to find out! read more

My wife and I called Ella for help recently. We were going to be visiting Houston on my bday and were looking for cupcakes. I have been dealing with some health things and was eating a lot beige and bland, so I was bummed about not being able to eat cake on my birthday. But Ella (who is an absolute DELIGHT!) was able to help us find several stuffed cups (i.e. cupcakes that are stuffed with one of her cookies) that did not have: -chocolate -corn (syrup or starch) -dairy -blueberries (I CAN eat them but don't understand why anyone wants to?) It ended up being two, not brief conversations. She went out of her way to help me get some birthday stuffed cups! At the store, she requires everyone to wear masks and offers them to anyone who didn't show up with one. When we walked in the place was empty but apparently this was a very brief lull. Within a minute, a couple dozen people were are also in there, ordering food and merch. The place had a really happy, bustling atmosphere. The stuffed cups she helped me find on the menu (which we scarfed after dinner) were delicious!!!! My wife had ones with dairy, and I had vegan ones. My wife had a cookie too on the way out of town and really loved it. I highly recommend this place. Thanks, Ella. read more

Came here from a recommendation from a Houston influencer foodie page, (@Mysouthernbrand), and I was pleasantly surprised! I have a huge sweet tooth and really love a chocolate chip cookie, bonus points if it has nuts! Unfortunately they sold out of the double chocolate chip pecan cookies, but I was able to try the toffee crunch cookie. It was so good! I like my cookies a bit crunchy/on the harder side, but this was a good compromise. Crunchy yet still soft and gooey on the inside. I can't wait to go back and try the chocolate chip cookie I know it's going to be even better. read more

I am not a big dessert person but this was a hit! Ms. Ella, the Black owner and baker is gifted! Not only is the shop the cutest and cleanest, the desserts are delightful. I enjoyed the Sweet Potato Butter Pecan crunch and ugh it was delicious. I also love that there are vegan and gluten-free options that are just as tasty. Check it out now! read more

It's always a good time at Crumbville. The treats are fresh and the love is real. It doesn't matter how many times I stop in, the personalized greeting when I walk through the door never fails to put a smile on my face. Ella is a treasure and Crumbville is a bright spot in the city. Also, my maniac munch cookies were soooo good as always! Red velvet cookies and chocolate chip cookies and oreo cookies all in one bite?! It's the genius for me. read more

Such a wonderful experience with an even nicer owner. I randomly stopped by recently not thinking about potential COVID changes and how they might affect business practices. When I got to the door, I saw a sign that said they weren't allowing walk-ins. Instead, they were only accepting call-in order pick-ups. The owner, Ella, came to door to see if I was picking up and once I shared that I'd never visited the bakery, she asked if I could wait about 10 minutes so she could take care of the previous orders first. I had time so I waited in my car and ordered straight from the site. She left me in and shared her disappointment in not being able to give me a hug since she, pre-COVID, hugged all her customers. *so sweet* After visiting the sanitizer station, I got my order which consisted of: a Vanilla Peachy-cob-a-licious cupcake, a Strawberries and Cream Cheesecake Cupcake and a Butter Pecan Crunch cookie. All were delicious but my fav was the Vanilla Peachy-cob-a-licious cupcake. I'm not even a huge fan of peach cobbler but this had just enough flavor to be amazing without going overboard. Can't wait to go back and try more. Also can't wait to go back after this pandemic for my customer service experience hug! read more

No excuse make the stop and support a very talented minority female business owner that passion shines through every bit....Wowzers the cookies are Amazing! If you all haven't stopped @ this sweet shop in the heart of 3ward stop today oops order online due to covid then pick up. I literally was passing through otw to a friend's house and decided I wanted something sweet crunchy and not from a chain. Parked in the parking lot yes so important and a gem when living in the city. Shop here @ Cumberville for the best desserts cookies, brownies, and treats with the most unique flavors along with vegan, gluten free, and of course traditional goodness! I am also a fan of the pop & hip hop culture names such as the J. Cole =lemon White Chocolate Raspberry soft cookie which is my favorite! The banana pudding cupcake is most fresh and big enough to share left me on a much needed sugar high especially since Aunt Flow had me in a wicked mood The owner is a BOI which is a huge plus but what sold me was how incredible polite and detailed explanation of each item to a novice of course I came in for one thing but left with a bag full of goodies to share with others! Customers are treated with a personalized carry out bag which is going above and beyond which is expected when you shop at a boutiques. Highly recommend!! First, it is so hard to find vegan foods and desserts. So when you've discovered one you've located a gem. Especially when it's a place filled with LOVE like Crumbville. She makes cookies, cupcakes and full size cakes. Both vegan / gluten free and non-vegan. She's personable and professional. While in Houston give her a try! We had carrot cake and cookies & cream. Yooooooooo! My husband and me have officially found our new dessert spot. This quaint bakery is located in Houston's Historic Third Ward area, and offers a delicious selection of brownies, cupcakes, and cookies. One of the best parts? They have vegan options as well that taste just as good! I would like to also point out that Ms. Ella and her team provide TIP-TOP customer service, which made the trip even more enjoyable. read more

The owner, Ella, is so warm and welcoming that I would want to support her ever if her cookies weren't some of the best in Houston. Pre-COVID, she hugged every single customer that came in and just brings so much sunshine to her block. They also usually have samples out for every type of cookie and won't say a word if you try all of them. I'm usually a chocolate chip kinda girl but her lemon cookies (Cole World) are the best!! Go grab a batch and feel good about supporting a local business while you inhale them. read more
