I also appreciate how none of the bowls I've had here had that watery/icy texture that you find in lower quality bowls/smoothies. There's no AC (it's a walk-up and order type of place), but there is plenty of outdoor seating for days where the weather is nice. Arrived about half hour before close and so did the rest of the Heights it seemed! Busy place when I arrived, and there was a bit of a wait with my order but I was satisfied with it so maybe it just added to the appetite. I ordered the small MAC bowl which has a blend of strawberries, pineapple, mango, and orange and was topped with fresh strawberries, pineapple, and granola. It was actually pretty filling so I'm glad I opted for the small. Price wise, it felt standard at about 11 bucks a pop. I think smoothies were 8? They have a variety of blends available and everything looked delightfully fresh so I will make my way back at some point to try something new. :) There was plenty of outdoor seating available, the inside is just dedicated for ordering and picking up. They have free water outside, as well. Menus were a bit scattered but they are also available online on their website so perhaps check ahead of time. Parking wise: I snagged a spot in the lot next to the coffee place next door but they do have signage about towing so make your decisions to park wisely hehehe They do have a veryyy small lot behind the shop, the entrance being this small alleyway which could be easily missed, but I suppose you could just park in the lot directly in front of the place and walk over. This is one of the spots I am absolutely obsessed with. While this isn't a local home grown joint, it is one of those that just has everything I'm about. Friendly folks, fresh fruit, and quick service! If you're looking for a variety of bowls, particularly if you're wanting to have some Açaí in the base, this spot needs to be in your rotation. It would be embarrassing to admit how often I grab a bowl from here, particularly when it's warm out and you're looking for that refreshing yet fulfilling meal. Food - 5* I've had almost the entire menu at this point, much of which I'll order to go, but my personal favorites are the namesake Mamaka, the Bro, the Bean, and the Pipeline. Service - 4* My orders are always ready when they say they will be and when ordering in person to relax they are quick unless they're absolutely slammed with people, which definitely tends to be the case on weekends. They do offer a rewards program via a punch card, but they've been out of them at times and promise they'll stamp your card next time. I'd recommend they switch to an electronic system possibly? Cost - 5* Great value. The bowls are nicely sized and you can make this a meal replacement. This place is my favorite for any açaí bowl! Mamaka is a great small business that has super fresh and tasty açaí and smoothie bowls. Inside it's really small and really no seating at all as most of it is outside or you just take it to go. There's a parking lot on the other side next to forth and nomad, so you can park there and just walk over but it is rather limited. You can also park across in the plaza and walk across the street. Service is okay. Nothing special to note, but also nothing bad either. The workers always make my bowl on time, and they're good at what they do. They don't really talk to customers or give you any eye contact, and overall the vibe inside is somewhat friendly but also not amazing. But honestly, it's not really a big deal since you're mostly there to grab your bowl and go. The bowls itself are great. I wish they added more fruit on top, but the portion overall is great. The fruit is fresh and ripe, and the açaí mixture is yummy and not too sweet. It's a great sweet treat without feeling guilty, and a large bowl will fill you up. They have swings and few tables where you can enjoy your food out front. Inside they have lots of posters of the water. It gives a beach vibe inside. Very laid back. They have parking in the rear if needed, but you can easily walk over from the trail. I plan on returning and trying the bowls, they also have tacos. Maybe I'm late to the party but this was such a cute find! This little grab and go smoothie and açaí bowl place was something I stumbled on when looking for parking for a nearby coffee shop. They had parking in the back, so I parked there, and of course had to go in and get something to not be rude. They have a pretty varied menu of different bowls and smoothies you could choose from, all of which looked so fresh and delicious! I opted for the Mamaka bowl and loved it. With an açaí base topped with fresh fruit, I was instantly transported back to Tulum. Pricing was around $9-11 a bowl, but it's pretty large, so enough to share with someone. As mentioned, this is more of an order and go place so seating is outside and limited, but service is pretty quick. There was a line out the door when we came on a Saturday at around 10am, so this spot is very popular. They only really have outdoor seating- some under the shade and others directly under the sun. We thankfully copped a spot on the couch protecting us from the sun lollll. Inside is solely just for ordering and waiting. I got the ohana bowl, and my friends liked my bowl the most! I substituted the coconut shreds for cacao nibs, which was great. I got a small, and it was just perfect size. Once you place your order, you can't stray too far because they'll yell out your name once your order is ready for counter pickup. Parking is very limited but you can use one of the neighboring lots and walk over. The parking behind the business fits less than 8 cars and the entrance is the same as the exit so it's hard to get in/out. The height jogging trail is right next to the business, so you'll see most people stopping by in workout gear. It is dog friendly, so feel free to bring your pup. A great spot to grab a delicious acai bowl! I definitely recommend trying the "Mamaka" on the menu, it has everything classically found in an acai bowl for you to try if it is your first time trying acai (classic strawberry-banana base topped with granola, bananas, strawberries, and blueberries). The best parts of my bowl were definitely the delicious, crunchy granola, the fresh fruit, and the cold, solid acai base. At first I thought the small size was quite large at first but I finished my bowl so fast! The cashiers were friendly and our bowls came out at a reasonable time, and there is cute, outdoor seating options to enjoy your bowl and socialize. However, the reason why I give this place 4 stars rather than 5 is because the coffee I ordered was not very good, coming from a coffee enjoyer. The latte tasted watered down and I could barely taste the espresso, so I unfortunately could not bring myself to finish this drink. Additionally, parking is very limited and that makes it difficult to frequently return to. It's simple counter service- very casual. I got the Pipeline and added protein powder - regular size. It was so good! We also got an iced hazelnut latte. The patio was really nice - lots of seats and a couple swings. And there are seats on the side of the building too. There is a lot in the area to walk around to - and often on the weekend there are neighborhood markets in the area, so we took it to go and walked around - was a perfect Sunday morning.
