My latest pasta obsession! My friend was looking for a place to use his $50 resy credit and he decided on Bella Maci, so glad he did!! Ambiance is charming and intimate since it's a small space. Loved getting to know the family that runs the business, we were joking all dinner! You can really feel the joy amongst the staff. Apps Bread plate $5 Shrimp scampi $17 Bruschetta $12 Caesar $12 Favorite app was def the bruschetta: honey burrata, Fuji apple, prosciutto, balsamic glaze. Caesar is not your typical Caesar salad bc they use baby kale, but still good! Personally thought it was slightly overdressed, but I'm not a saucy person in general. I loved the sliced almonds on it to add some texture. Entrees Mezzi Rigatoni $23 Perfectly meaty from the pork and beef bolognese with just the right dollop of ricotta to make it creamy without being too overpowering Strozzapreti $25 This blew me away. The white wine sauce was so savory and creamy. Pasta perfectly al dente and I loved the thickness of the pasta. Chicken a tad too salty for me, but my friend thought it was perfectly seasoned Risotto $25 + pan roasted prawns $10 I am dreaming of this risotto. So deeply buttery, creamy, and cheesy. Risotto not mushy despite all the creamy goodness. Was craving something that'd give me a warm hug, and this delivered!! Again, I thought the prawns were too salty but my friend thought they were good

Cute little Italian restaurant in downtown Folsom. They have a good wine list that mixes some of the best hits from Amado county with some fun Tuscan options. We ordered the arugula, orchetti and the bucatini clam pasta special. We liked the orchetti best but all 3 hit the spot. Make sure to make a reservation. It's a smaller restaurant.

Another restaurant my husband and I got to try thanks to our Amex Resy credit! We've been wanting to try this place for a while with our Resy credit and finally got to today! We came here after dinner right after work and it definitely was worth it. Walking in, the interior has dimmed lighting but I didn't mind because it made the restaurant feel more intimate. We were seated right away since we made a reservation on the Resy app and were given the menus. I've already looked at the menu ahead of time so I knew what I wanted but the waitress let us know about their specials for the day. My husband ended up ordering the NY Steak daily special and I ordered the Strozzapreti with no mushrooms. We also ordered a Bread Plate and Meatballs are our appetizers, and my husband got a red wine to go with his steak and I got a regular Ginger Ale as my drink of choice. My husband and I were very impressed with everything we ordered! We loved how the appetizers were just the right amount to eat so we don't get full right away and still have room to eat our main dishes. My husband ordered his NY Steak medium rare and it had the right amount of pink! As for my Strozzapreti dish, WOW! I loved how creamy the white sauce is and the chicken really went well with the pasta in every bite. We will definitely be back to try more of their menu because everything looks so good, service was fantastic, and we love a good Italian restaurant!

Usually Italian food doesn't hit the spot for me around Sacramento like the Italian food does from SoCal or NYC. So I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed the food here! Very authentic! Bella Maci is a little hidden gem in Historic Folsom Sutter Street. I liked the clean classic elegance vibe decor. Easy to make reservations via Ressy if needed, but when I went for lunch it wasn't too busy. We ordered Bruschetta, Mezi Rigatoni, Penne, and Tiramisu. Bruschetta appetizer was delicious! It wasn't the kind with tomatoes on it, it was way better. I loved the combination of the honey burrata, fuji apple, and prosciutto. I had the Penne as my entree. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the combo of the white sauce and dungeness crab melts in your mouth. I tried a bite of the Mezi Rigatoni and the hint of wine flavor from the bolognese sauce was really nice. Then always my favorite part, dessert! Tiramisu was amazing! Maci said its housemade. The coffee creme was divine. Happy to have stumbled upon this place. Looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes off the menu!

The food: pasta is fresh and tastes "home made" I enjoyed the Orecchiette the first time I went and the second time I went with the Busiate. They were both delicious and I'd order them again. The service: The waitresses and staff are welcoming and attentive. The owner came out to our table each time to say hello. Love the intimate and authentic Italian vibe of this restaurant. They only offer beer and wine, no hard alcohol. The wine pour was rather small, I almost thought it was brought over so I could "taste" it. Buy a bottle instead if you are with other wine drinkers.

We really wanted to like Bella Maci. It's a small, locally owned Italian-themed restaurant in Folsom, and we came in genuinely hoping to support a small mom-and-pop operation. But from the moment we walked in, the experience steadily declined. The first issue was the bait-and-switch: the enticing menu on the website bore little resemblance to the limited menu at the restaurant. What we came for wasn't available. A young waitress took our beverage order and then an older woman named Brooke took over our table of four. After ordering, my partner and I simply switched seats at the same table so she could be closer to the window. When Brooke returned with our food, she seemed flustered and accused us of having "tricked" her by changing seats. She then handed the wrong dishes to the wrong people and, in the process, stepped on my designer shoe--without so much as a glance or an apology. The food didn't redeem the experience. The butter lettuce, Caesar, and arugula salads tasted like prepackaged grocery greens dumped onto a plate, drenched in oil, and topped with a few scattered nuts. The bucatini resembled a slightly modified plate of Chef Boyardee. Even the Prosecco tasted off--oddly tangy, like it had been open too long or stored poorly. We gave Bella Maci a fair shot and left not just disappointed, but baffled. When the co-owner provides curt, chaotic service and can't even offer a simple apology for stepping on a guest's shoe, it's hard to feel welcome--let alone impressed. This was a frustrating, forgettable experience. Sorry, but we won't be back

What a great place for a date! Charming and very nice staff. The food is marvelous. I had a chicken pasta with a cream sauce and I couldn't stop eating it. Starting off with the bruschetta was a great choice too. I've never been to old town Folsom, but this quaint little strip of stores and restaurants is the perfect backdrop for such a unique restaurant.

If I could have scraped more, I would have. Amazing dish.

After seeing the reviews on Yelp, my wife and I decided to give Bella Maci a try. We were absolutely blown away by the food, the service, as well as the ambiance. We started with the bruschetta and it was delicious. I then ordered the short ribs and polenta and after taking my first bite, I was in literal heaven. The beef was amazing, but the polenta was absolutely phenomenal. Last week, I had, what I thought was the best polenta I've ever had in my life in Reno, but this one went to a whole other level. The menu is tight, which means, in my mind, that the chef/owner can make sure that every dish is spectacular. Bravo to everyone associated with this establishment.

If you want amazing food and welcoming/friendly staff that make you feel like family...this is the place. Walking into Bella Maci you'll love the cozy environment that gives you a homey feeling. I have tried everything on the menu, and I'm telling you you can't go wrong with any order. My favorite is starting with the Bruchette and a glass of Old Soul Chardonnay. Short ribs for dinner and tiramisu for desert (and of course more wine with both). Try it, you will love your experience at Bella Maci. read more

Started with Bruschetta and then Rigatoni with Bolognese and also Beef Short Ribs. Each dish was prepared well and tasted great. The service was excellent and conversational. If I had to say "Fair" in one area, that would be the wine list. It was OK since so many better wines for this cuisine could be sourced in Amador and El Dorado Counties at reasonable prices. read more

My daughter and I wanted to have Italian for lunch. She approved the orecchiette Alfredo with chicken. The sauce had a perfect creamy texture. I had the mezzi rigatoni. It was meaty with just enough sauce. Would definitely be back! read more

We had dinner tonight with our friends. 4 people. Nice wine list. We ordered Two bottles of wine. Both great!! The service was amazing!!. The restaurant is elegant & intimate Small restaurant. We will definitely be back soon. We ordered: 1. Bread which was fresh with soft butter & dipping sauce 2. Appetizer of Bruschetta. Very tasty. 3. Cesar Salad. Delicious salad dressing, lots of parmsean cheese with almonds. We ordered 4 different main courses. 1. Penne pasta with Crab & lemon. Our favorite -Yum Yum! 2. pasta Bolgense - Delicious 3. Braised short rib - delicious 4. Risotto with salmon. Needed more season but still good. 5. Dessert. Tirmasui. Was so delicious. Homemade Highly recommend to check out for dinner. We've now dined here four times and each visit has been excellent. Small menu and attention to detail. the ceaser salad is made with baby kale. i don't particularly like kale but this was delicious. the bucatini amatricana is authentic. This is a simple recipe we make at home. It's easy to screw up by adding extraneous or less quality ingredients. they do it right here. The meatballs are delicious. make a reservation, it's a small place. Open for lunch most days. And do start your meal with the blood orange spritz! read more

What a wonderful little place. It's so clean and smells great. The meatballs are some of the best we ever had and the sauce is Che'f's kiss. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner and she was so warm and friendly. The lasagna and my husband's rigatoni were both fantastic. The bread was so good my husband asked to purchase a loaf. This is a wonderful new place that's been open for about 6 months. We will be coming back. So worth the drive from Elk Grove! This place completed our evening!! What a find. This is a cozy newer Italian restaurant in old Folsom. The food is wonderful, the staff is very attentive and the vibe is very relaxed. Highly recommend the Bruschetta as an appetizer, so good. The lasagna was tasty as was the Busiate. We tried the chocolate cheesecake with raspberries and it was excellent. I recommend placing reservations ahead of time because the limited number of tables. We sat at the counter and it was quite entertaining. Prices were average but the whole experience was an A+. read more

A great new small intimate Italian restaurant in old Folsom! Fabulous butter salad. Loved the light dressing. I had the strozzapretti with chicken and mushrooms. The pasta was so light and delicious followed by sea salt gelato. Our waitress, Macy , was attentive and it wasfun to see the whole family working together. Check it out! read more

Folsom has a new restaurant option for Italian food. Bella Maci, which does not sell pizza, opened a week ago in Historic Folsom, across the street from Scott's Seafood. I suggest on-line reservations as there are only 7 tables, plus 8 chairs at the bar, for diners. The menu is also small, but artfully crafted. For example, the Caesar salad is composed of baby kale rather than the traditional Romaine lettuce. Similarly, the penne pasta is topped with Dungeness crab and a lovely lemon sauce. The strezzapreti pasta features Mary's Chicken, a special order from a poultry ranch in Sanger, CA that sells Free Range chickens to gourmet restaurants. The chicken and pasta entrée included sliced cremini mushrooms and a delicious white wine cream parmesan sauce. The gorgonzola-topped filet steak option, which appeared to be three inches thick when taken by my table to another diner, was greeted with a "ummm..." when the diner took his first bite. The bar options are limited to an extensive wine list and beer, no liquor. The service at our table, even though still the first week, was professional and attentive. The prices are reasonable, ranging from $10 for individual dinner salads to a range of $20 to $38 for the pasta and steak entrees. There were also four desserts available. Bella Maci should be an option when you want to try Italian food that elevates your dining experience with something other than the traditional marinara sauce. read more

Bella Maci in Folsom, CA is a wonderful new italian restaurant. We booked a late Father's Day seating. Only the counter was available. We had a wonderful time. The service was perfect. We dried the bruschetta, Caesar salad, Rigitoni, Crab Penne, and, my favorite, Strozzapreti were all excellent. The Ceasar was slightly over dressed but not bad. The entrees were all spot on. This is a small intimate restaurant with great food. The short rib with polenta was the best I've ever had. They also have a gluten-free penne pasta with crab. That is very good. The only thing is my friend ordered it, and his portion was much smaller than mine. So they just need to watch the portion consistency. The nice people that run the restaurant are very helpful. We hadn't realized they had closed 30 minutes before and they didn't kick us out, which was great. Of course we promptly left after that. I have eaten here twice and was very happy with this restaurant. read more

This is a family owned restaurant and labor of love and that shines through the dining experience. Menu is pasta-focused but that doesn't mean skimping on the protein portions. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Truly, what an amazing meal. We had the rigatoni and bucatini. Each sauce was unique to the pasta and so much flavor. The polenta was excellent, light, fluffy and creamy! We ended with mascarpone cheesecake, again excellent flavors. Each bite amazing. Our meal came out quickly and the service was great. This place is what restaurants should be, intimate, personal with high quality. Many people do not understand that in this industry, even when everything is going exactly according to plan, it's outrageously difficult. You should disregard any one stars given to this place, people that are petty should stay home. Go enjoy and see for yourself how amazingly hard these people work and eat good food!! We still love our traditional Visconti Italian restaurant in Folsom as the traditional big Italian meal, but these new restaurants in downtown Folsom are unique enough to enjoy the deliciousness they provide!! 100% recommend with a honest 5 review read more

Brooke greeted us with a smile when we arrived and was so fun and adorable -- everything from her necklace to her nails reflected her personality and made us feel instantly welcome. Her recommendations and her service were spot on. The orecchiette with spring peas, basil pesto, pine nuts, and parmesan was fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. The lobster fettuccine was decadent and indulgent, with generous, tender pieces of lobster throughout, making the dish feel truly special. The Caesar salad with baby kale and Marcona almonds was crisp, refreshing, and full of flavor. We visited this adorable little place today for lunch. We have been hearing great things and had to see for ourselves. My husband got risotto, and I had the penne. We also got the bruschetta app, and a lemon cake for dessert. All were fantastic. Maci was our server and she was lovely. Personable and sweet. I love restaurants that are actually family operated. Its a tiny place, so if you are going for dinner- it would strongly encourage a reservation. They only thing I'd suggest, but totally not food or service related, is some fun hanging lights above each table.
