Amazing--upon entering, our service, the food, and the feeling we left with. We were very impressed. I love the decor and vibe. It was still upscale with a touch of home kitchen. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and responsive. I would be happy to return. Backstory: we came to celebrate our anniversary. We wanted something nearby a spa we visited and were immediately drawn to this restaurant based on their overwhelming number of positive reviews. The reviews were spot on because the food is delicious. I don't even know where to begin. Everything was full of flavor and textures, without being heavy, and plated beautifully. Everything we ordered was perfect. We ordered the penne with salmon, the braised short ribs with polenta, the bread, arugula salad, and for dessert the chocolate cheesecake and blood orange sorbet that we paired with the cutest little coffees. A 10/10 experience!

Braised Short Ribs

Back again at this boutique family-run Italian restaurant. Open just over a year, with a menu that consistently delivers. The Braised Short Ribs with polenta were an outstanding mouthful, and the Strozzapreti subbed with prawns was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. You'll likely be served by Maci, the restaurant's lovely namesake, while Mom Brooke welcomes and also helps with the guests, and the chef is Dad who'll bring out your dish if sitting at the counter. Warm friendly service. We'll keep coming back! Hint: reservations recommended.

Location: Conveniently located on Sutter Street in the heart of Old Folsom. It has a small unassuming store front. Parking is convenient (as long as there are no big events going on in the area). Reservations: Highly recommended- the restaurant is quite small, so it may be hard to get a table on a busy night. Reservations were easy to make online. Service: Excellent, our server was kind and attentive. Food was brought out timely and we did not feel rushed. Ambiance: The interior of the restaurant is simple, yet classy. The exposed brick on the main wall adds a historic and rustic touch. Minimal decor, but clean and comfortable. There are only 6-7 tables and maybe 10 seats at the bar, so it is an intimate setting and quiet enough for good conversation. DRINKS: I ordered the Pinot Grigio, which was crisp and delicious. Not a particularly generous serving, but quality was good. FOOD: Bruschetta- Four perfect bites of creamy and just sweet enough honey burrata, fuji apple, prosciutto on a grilled ciabatta slice. They were topped with a rich and flavorful balsamic vinegar. These were on the smaller side, but were just the right amount to save room for the incredible pasta. We really enjoyed these. Busiate- We both ordered this pasta dish because the photos looked amazing. My partner ordered it as it comes with the smoked bacon, red onion, fresh mozzarella, vodka sauce. I had it without the bacon and added pan roasted prawns on top. This dish was absolutely divine-- the sauce was creamy, flavorful, with just a hint of spice. The grilled onions added a smokiness and slightly crispy texture. The pasta itself was cooked perfectly, and the shape lent itself very well to carry the sauce. The four prawns were cooked well and really complimented the overall flavors. Affogato with Cherry chip gelato- I'm a total sucker for an Affogato and this one did not disappoint. The gelato was amazing- delicious rich cherry flavor with cherry chunks and chocolate chips. Overall, I highly recommend Bella Maci and we will certainly be back!

Strozzapreti with Mary's chicken

We so enjoyed our lunch today at Bella Maci on Sutter Street in Folsom...a beautiful venue, AMAZING service (by the owners' daughter Maci, no less), lovely wine and beer list and delicious food. We shared the Strozzapreti served with Mary's chicken, mushrooms, Bloomsdale spinach, white wine, cream and Parmesan cheese. Sooo yummy. We also shared a Caesar salad made with baby kale, Marcona almonds and freshly grated Parmesan...perfection! Can't wait to sample the meatballs and lasagna ordered by other patrons during our visit and the braised short-ribs over polenta, which unfortunately, is only on the dinner menu! The photos show 1/2 of the order since they split the salad and entrée at no extra charge!

Braised short rib and Halibut special with some fun noddles, both very tasty! 2 Spritz the lemon and grapefruit. Grapefruit was our fav!

Wowowowow! Such a perfect date night spot. Food is fresh made to order from scratch and with me being pescavegan they made accommodations with no hesitations and it was AMAZING! Can't wait to go again!!!

My latest pasta obsession! My friend was looking for a place to use his $50 resy credit and he decided on Bella Maci, so glad he did!! Ambiance is charming and intimate since it's a small space. Loved getting to know the family that runs the business, we were joking all dinner! You can really feel the joy amongst the staff. Apps Bread plate $5 Shrimp scampi $17 Bruschetta $12 Caesar $12 Favorite app was def the bruschetta: honey burrata, Fuji apple, prosciutto, balsamic glaze. Caesar is not your typical Caesar salad bc they use baby kale, but still good! Personally thought it was slightly overdressed, but I'm not a saucy person in general. I loved the sliced almonds on it to add some texture. Entrees Mezzi Rigatoni $23 Perfectly meaty from the pork and beef bolognese with just the right dollop of ricotta to make it creamy without being too overpowering  Strozzapreti $25 This blew me away. The white wine sauce was so savory and creamy. Pasta perfectly al dente and I loved the thickness of the pasta. Chicken a tad too salty for me, but my friend thought it was perfectly seasoned  Risotto $25 + pan roasted prawns $10 I am dreaming of this risotto. So deeply buttery, creamy, and cheesy. Risotto not mushy despite all the creamy goodness. Was craving something that'd give me a warm hug, and this delivered!! Again, I thought the prawns were too salty but my friend thought they were good

Cute little Italian restaurant in downtown Folsom. They have a good wine list that mixes some of the best hits from Amado county with some fun Tuscan options. We ordered the arugula, orchetti and the bucatini clam pasta special. We liked the orchetti best but all 3 hit the spot. Make sure to make a reservation. It's a smaller restaurant.

Wow. There just aren't enough words to explain how phenomenal their food is. On top of that, the owners and staff made us feel like family, 20/10 service. We came for date night, and stayed because we felt at home. I would absolutely recommend going in for actually anything on the menu - everything we tried was decadent, flavorful and honestly, deserves a Michelin star. I have a wheat allergy and they were extremely accommodating, and had gluten free items on the menu. The salmon & penne melts in your mouth, the short ribs were cooked to perfection and the meatballs tasted like they were from grandma's kitchen. Will be back, thank you Bella Maci for a wonderful date night!

My husband and I went here for my birthday last year, one time in between, and again tonight for another birthday of mine! The service, food, vibe, and drink choices were phenomenal... as always! The music that they play is so good and really helps create a perfect environment for a romantic dinner or friends night out. My friend and I are coming back on the 25th and Brooke, one of the owners helped me with reservations tonight! Our server was incredible. I can't say enough good things about this spot, definitely check it out! It's small, so do make reservations. Another awesome birthday dinner in the books, thank you, Bella Maci!!

Usually Italian food doesn't hit the spot for me around Sacramento like the Italian food does from SoCal or NYC. So I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed the food here! Very authentic! Bella Maci is a little hidden gem in Historic Folsom Sutter Street. I liked the clean classic elegance vibe decor. Easy to make reservations via Ressy if needed, but when I went for lunch it wasn't too busy. We ordered Bruschetta, Mezi Rigatoni, Penne, and Tiramisu. Bruschetta appetizer was delicious! It wasn't the kind with tomatoes on it, it was way better. I loved the combination of the honey burrata, fuji apple, and prosciutto. I had the Penne as my entree. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the combo of the white sauce and dungeness crab melts in your mouth. I tried a bite of the Mezi Rigatoni and the hint of wine flavor from the bolognese sauce was really nice. Then always my favorite part, dessert! Tiramisu was amazing! Maci said its housemade. The coffee creme was divine. Happy to have stumbled upon this place. Looking forward to coming back and trying more dishes off the menu!

Another restaurant my husband and I got to try thanks to our Amex Resy credit! We've been wanting to try this place for a while with our Resy credit and finally got to today! We came here after dinner right after work and it definitely was worth it. Walking in, the interior has dimmed lighting but I didn't mind because it made the restaurant feel more intimate. We were seated right away since we made a reservation on the Resy app and were given the menus. I've already looked at the menu ahead of time so I knew what I wanted but the waitress let us know about their specials for the day. My husband ended up ordering the NY Steak daily special and I ordered the Strozzapreti with no mushrooms. We also ordered a Bread Plate and Meatballs are our appetizers, and my husband got a red wine to go with his steak and I got a regular Ginger Ale as my drink of choice. My husband and I were very impressed with everything we ordered! We loved how the appetizers were just the right amount to eat so we don't get full right away and still have room to eat our main dishes. My husband ordered his NY Steak medium rare and it had the right amount of pink! As for my Strozzapreti dish, WOW! I loved how creamy the white sauce is and the chicken really went well with the pasta in every bite. We will definitely be back to try more of their menu because everything looks so good, service was fantastic, and we love a good Italian restaurant!

The mixed green salad- not sure if this is seasonal because it has nectarines in it.

Is Bella maci kid friedly?

Yes, they have a little kids menu. The atmosphere is not really geared towards kids, but there were kids while we were there. Maybe bring a coloring book or tablet to keep them from getting bored

The inside had a classic Italian restaurant feel without feeling overcrowded even though it was very busy. I tried everything ordered to our table! My entree started with a minestrone soup. I loved it! (Soup served with outstanding garlic bread) This soup even though a basic dish, transported me back to sitting with my grandma in her kitchen, with her minestrone she would make. With every single bite this happened. Magical. I enjoyed two different appetizers. One cheese ravioli appetizer with sauce to dip in and the second a delicious asparagus dish. We had two different pizzas. One a margarita and the other cheese. Both were great and we all loved the sauce & crust. I had the chicken and vegetable entree. The chicken was cooked perfectly. The only thing I would have liked for this, perhaps as an option. Maybe a light sauce to drizzle on the vegetables. (Butter garlic or something similar to a Marsala sauce). We ordered cannolis to go. Mine didn't make it out of the parking lot. lol. Yes!! I will order again. We enjoyed all our food and we look forward to going back again. Very friendly service all around.

The staff were super friendly and professional from the start, and the restaurant itself is really nice inside. The dim lighting gives it a cozy dinner vibe, and it was cool being able to watch them make and stretch the dough through the kitchen windows. We ordered a variety of dishes to share, so we got to try a little bit of everything. The focaccia came out thick and fluffy with olive oil and balsamic for dipping, which was a nice start. The bone marrow presentation was interesting and came with beef tartare and chips which were super appetizing. The light chips were very light which I enjoyed. The meatballs were HUGE and covered in sauce and plenty of cheese, but flavor wise they were just okay for me. One of the meatballs was super burnt and dry. We also tried a few pastas, including the carbonara and some of the red sauce pastas. They looked great and definitely didn't hold back on the cheese, but overall the pasta wasn't anything I'd say was to die for. It was good, just nothing that really stood out. The pizza was probably one of the better things we ordered the crust was nicely charred and fluffy, there were plenty of toppings, and I'm glad they weren't stingy with the ranch. Overall, I'd give it 3 stars. Nothing was necessarily bad, and the service and atmosphere were both great, but for the food and prices I was expecting a little more of a wow factor. We had a nice dinner and enjoyed trying everything, but is this somewhere I'd randomly start craving and have to come back to? Probably not. Still worth trying at least once if you're already in the area and in the mood for Italian.

Food, ambiance, and customer service are phenomenal just as they were my first two dining experiences. I definitely was late to the party. Skipolini's was not on my radar until Carmichael friends ask me to meet them here. It is their numero uno pizza spot for sure. Impressed then and equally impressed now after once again consuming salad, pizza, and a glass of wine. I must attest to the freshest and crispiest romaine salad ever! It is now my gold standard for how a salad should taste. Plus, it was huge. Unless you have not eaten in a week, this salad can be and should be shared or for next day's yummy leftovers. We were in group of 10 people including kids! Skipolinis is family friendly and casual. So our little group fit in perfectly. Unfortunately, very little photo taking happening (You may check out my previous visit photos.). But lots of eating, talking and just having a great time over delicious food! The kids were all loving their pizzas! I saw a few lasagna dishes which looked amazing. And a sangria or two also. I may have to try that sangria next time! Speaking of kids... Skipolini's has a super nice outside playground which gets a lot of use in warmer weather. Our waitperson handled the table like a pro! So customer service remains fantastic. Everyone there is most welcoming. Oh, if you are a single or a couple wanting a more low lights, subdued experience... head for the big, beautiful bar. It is set up perfectly to relax and enjoy the vibes. I definitely need to get back to Skipolini's more in 2026! Carve out a little time to enjoy some great food and service "Skipolini" style. Verdict: Two thumbs up!

A gentleman greeted me and mentioned that I was a little early and that they were just finishing up my order, which would be ready at 12. No problem at all, so I waited. However, I started noticing orders coming out for people who had walked in and ordered after me. By 12:10, I still didn't have my order and around 12:20, the gentleman came over and apologized, saying he wasn't sure how they had missed my order but that they were still working on it. That was frustrating because when I first walked in, I was told they were already finishing up my order. I specifically scheduled my pickup a day ahead, so I expected it to be ready around the scheduled time. I didn't end up receiving my order until 12:26 PM almost 30 minutes after my pickup time. At the very least, I feel like they could have offered some type of compensation for the wait, especially since the order had somehow been missed. Unfortunately, nothing was offered and the whole situation left me pretty disappointed. Now, I will give credit where it's due.. the pizza was SUPER delicious! The slices are huge and definitely give you that New York style pizza feel. The ranch was also creamy and really good. I genuinely enjoyed the food, which is why I'm torn about my experience. The food itself was great, but because of how poorly the scheduled pickup was handled, I'm not sure how I feel about coming back or placing another scheduled order.
