Excellent. Don't be fooled by this tiny outside 10-table bistro - the food is top notch. I always get the salmon with basil mashed potatoes (fabulous!), but I just recently tried the chicken pasta and it's my new favorite. If you like tuna, the appetizer was perfect. We were fighting over who got the last bite. We also had the molten chocolate cake - if you aren't hungry, at least get this and a bottle of port. Delicious. Service is just as great as the food. All servers I've had have been friendly, very attentive, and accommodating. This last trip, they had to close the bistro early for an event, and kept the kitchen open for us when we showed up after they had shut it down. (Who does that?!) They also make you feel extra special if you're celebrating an occasion - we got a surprise birthday shout-out from the band :) The view is breathtaking up there and there's usually a fun band playing across the lawn. Incredible band. Seriously amazing group of young guys players my classic rock. Totally our vibe. The bistro on the other hand had the most terrible flatbread (if you can call it that) I've ever had. I've never really written a bad review like that and I came I'm a little tipsy. This food was not edible. My husband got a roast beef sandwich but will eat anything, so hard to tell there. Overall this place has a great atmosphere and great wine. The price point is excellent and the service was really good as well from Chris the bartender. One cautionary word would be when you pay for your winetasting upfront they're going to ask if you would like to tip. The chip does not go to the bartender. It goes to the lady sitting up front swiping your credit card doing nothing else. Just a FYI this is the kind of shady stuff that makes people leery of recommending your establishment. read more

I was hoping to be able to give more than two stars review to this place. I have tried it three times now and I am not impressed. They do serve free homemade chips and a garlic aioli that is pretty good. My husband liked the steak sandwich they have on the menu the first time, second time was not that good. I ordered the burger last time and it was RAW, I have asked for medium rare but what I got was RAW meat. This last time we ordered the burger again medium well and it RAW again, not a fun way to eat a burger. The French fries were not crispy or golden looking, they were white. I have ordered the Thai chicken wings, they are coated with a reduction of soy sauce, so they look black when served, not appealing to the eyes. Service is OK at best, they go through staff frequently. So this place is not consistent and they need to change their menu with other choices. I came to this place awhile based on a family members experience that they had a good time here so i had decided to go out and give it a try a month later. I had made a reservation for 6 and they confirmed the time. Everything set. Show up find parking on the hill fairly straight forward and head up to the front desk and tell them our reservation. They don't have it there - and no tables are available. I gave the name of the person who supposedly entered my reservation and they didn't even remember the call which... happen 2 hours before. Anyway determined not to spoil the mood we decide to wait since they said they would set up an area for us to eat. OK that sounds good, 10 minutes roll by and they go we have your tables sit up and take us away from the dining area outside with everyone else. They actually set up the tables in the middle of the wine tasting areas. An I mean DEAD CENTER of the wine tasting area, so everyone that goes in that area to try the wines has to walk around us since we're smack middle of the flow of foot traffic. Wonderful. Anyway again whatever - menu is simple one page lot of items you wouldn't see on most regular conventional food chain restaurants. I decide on a chicken sandwich and everyone orders their food. The bread that they brought out before the food was good I enjoyed that but I noticed soon after its basically a distraction for the fact the food comes out very... slowly. It was nearing 30+ minutes before we got our food. Only fact I remember was because I remember being asked by my friend when did we get seated again? An yeah a bit of a wait for just sandwiches. My sandwich though was very good and the chicken wasn't dry. Loved the sauce it was just enough and it didn't get the bun soggy. The fries were slim and crisp as well. Down fall was again a bit... more than a bit slow on asking us if we needed anything else (such as refills) which I find it hard to understand considering where were the ONLY table in the middle of that section of the building. Would've been nice to enjoy the live music an open area considering that's what the people go there to eat want to enjoy - were as we were in the cellar literally. Now I know what people mean about wanting to give a negative review. My first experience was great. I loved the food so much I decided I wanted to spend my birthday there. I told everyone how amazing it was. Everyone I came with on my first trip all had been craving the Korean wings. I made reservations like 2 weeks prior for my group. I spoke with someone giving them an exact number of party size just the day before. We get there a little before the 3pm reservation, check in and they say 10 minutes. By 315 I go see what's the hold up. 330 they're almost ready. Finally we're seated. So as we're deciding what to order we ask about the squash blossoms only to find out they're seasonal and they don't have them (yet it's still on menu). Another friend asks about the chicken pasta. They don't have that anymore they have one with pork. Too bad she doesn't eat pork. Ok whatever. As long as I get the Korean bbq wings fine. That's like my favorite thing here. Oh sorry they're out of those too. I packed up my party of 14 and left for a place that could accommodate us. We headed to Shoguns. A real restaurant. It ruined our entire day. We wasted an hour there and we could've enjoyed another winery! We were all starving because we met at the first winery at 12pm. Total BUZZ KILL! What's the point of having a reservation! read more

Reservation is strictly for brunch, not wine tasting etc. Made a reservation 2 weeks in advance for Mother's Day brunch. This worked for last minute planning however would never do again with better planning. Luckily had my boyfriend call and confirm our reservation right before to find that no one asked for any cc info to charge to hold our reservation, thus we didn't have one any longer. He was able to make them fix it, thankfully. Day of we arrived and there was really not that many people there. Servers were good but no one had any idea what was going on other than one person whom I will assume was manager. There was supposed to be a gift for every mom, they had no idea so luckily we asked. Pre made mimosas were straight oj so we switched to champagne. Food was meh. Definitely not $60/pp food (and they didn't fill my glass enough to make that worth my while either). I don't eat beef or pork so I had hardly any options and omelettes took 20 years to get. By the time I got mine I was full. Never again unless completely last minute as such but I intend to be a better planner going forward. read more

My husband & I came here on a Sunday afternoon. This place was a pleasant surprise. The location on top of the hill overlooking the hills of Temecula is incredible! You could dine outside or picnic across the way and listen to live music. This was all a plus because we came to try out the food, my husband & I are foodies. We had the Burgers with Parmesan Truffle Fries. This was no ordinary Burger, this definitely was one of the best burgers I have ever had. We will come back and it will be hard not to reorder the burger but I want to try other dishes they have to offer. I had desert... The Chocolate lava cake was all gone! I bought a Groupon deal and am very pleased with the service and food. I even joined the wine club! The wine is excellent! I had the seared Ahi sandwich, cajun fries and the Shrimp appetizer. Very unhappy. This was our 1st visit. Will be our last. It took 45 minutes to get our food and EVERYTHING was cold. The bean soup tasted like old bacon. Tomato soup was flavorless. The burger was flavorful. The "rolled chicken tacos" were actually fat taquitos with blah guacamole. We told our waitress everything was cold. She said she'd tell the chef. Nobody came to our table so I doubt she did. The band was good, albeit, a bit loud. So many fine wine dies to choose from, they are at the bottom of the list. read more

Fell in love with their red wines. This place has a beautiful view and very peaceful when you visit during the week. They don't serve food in the weekdays so that's the only downfall. I have enjoyed their live bands playing outdoors and it was a very fun experience. read more

I came to California to visit friends and family over the 4th of July holiday, we went to a restaurant called Bel Vino Bistro in Temecula for lunch, The Bistro was very charming and the food was exquisite, A friend and I shared an entrée, it was Caprese Topped Salmon with pesto basil mashed potatoes and fig balsamic reduction, it was to die for, it was more than enough for two, but I would recommend getting your own dish and try one of their other dishes to share, The girl that seated us was very charming and accommodating, she made us feel very special and even had the chef come out and greet us, he was so charming besides a great cook! I would highly recommend this place, I've already told all my friends back home in Florida, when they make a trip to lovely California that this place is a must to go and eat. The whole time we were looking for our server to come back so we could order extra bread and desert so needless to stay it was not relaxing while staying on the constant look out for service. I had a great experience overall at Bel Bino bistro. First of all, the service was excellent. Our server, Kim, was extremely knowledgable about all the wines on the menu and she also was extremely patient with our large party, not to mention was very attentive. The food was delicious, and the presentation was top notch. I felt very comfortable here but I also felt like I had a fine dining experience. Bel Vino Bistro is, you guessed it, the restaurant that is located at Bel Vino Winery. They have a small selection for appetizers, entrees and desserts. Each food item comes recommended with a pairing of their amazing wine. My husband and I have been members here for around 2 years now and were happy to hear about their bistro. We were members of Ponte up until a little while ago as well and dined frequently at their restaurant. So I can honestly say that the food prepared at the Bel Vino Bistro is superior to the food prepared at Ponte, in regards to what they have to offer. Their fries are addicting. I ordered the sandwich which was gigantic and equally delicious. My husband ordered the hamburger which was to die for. Each entree came with more than enough for around $15ish per plate. We ordered the cookies and creme cheesecake for dessert, which was not the best cheesecake but was still decent. The bistro is only opened Friday-Sunday, 11-4, with live music offered on Sat & Sun. read more

we reserved a table for 5 for a birthday celebration. we went to the bistro before the day of our celebration to make sure we thought it would be a nice place to go, and and it was pretty in the wine cellar (bistro), cool, intimate, and nice and quiet. they said they would set up a table for us, and when we arrived, the table was ready. unfortunately it was uncomfortably LOUD in the bistro since the tasting counter inside it was open too. with all of the cement, the noise level was hurting my ears.in all fairness it was a saturday and it was a busy day but i could tell the others in my party were bothered by the noise level, but we tried to make the best of it for awhile, until the noise level just really became unacceptable. there was another tasting counter outside of the bistro that wasn't being used and it would have been much better for bistro patrons if the tasting counter inside of the bistro was closed and if they used the other one instead. the manager did move us to a private room, which we appreciated very much, because the meal would not have been enjoyable with so much loud noise in the bistro. the waitress kim seemed annoyed by this and wasn't all that friendly, but she did have to go out of her way to serve us in the private room. i had the salmon topped caprese and it was very good, and others in my party had the steak sandwich (the waitress said it was award winning but we all agreed it was just okay) and the flatbread pizza, which was very good. we ordered dessert to go (molten chocolate cake and creme brulee) and neither one was very good. i may give them another try after renovations are over, but i think the bistro seating will be outside, and the live music outside was way too loud. we'll see. wish we had picked another location in wine country for our special celebration. read more
