I had a great experience with Bee Catchers! I had noticed bees coming in and out of crevice in my wood siding. I neglected to take action for 4-5 months. I finally decided to call and Nicole provided an estimate range and said her guys would come out to confirm the estimate and could do the work the same day. They came as scheduled. Very friendly and knowledgeable about all things bees related. I learned a lot that day! They spent about 1 1/2 hours opening up the wall and removing the bee hive and vacuumed out live bees. They said there was 35 pounds of honeycomb and 20,000 bees. WOW! They offered to give me some honeycomb. I've never had it before so that was super exciting. I wish I had asked for more! I had a particularly difficult situation in that I have a massive tree in my backyard and the bees decided it was perfect for a home. I wanted the tree trimmed, but was unable to unless the bees were rehomed. I called Bee Catchers and they were the best price. Mind you, they had to come out three separate times, but I was finally able to have my bee problem solved. They never called to tell me what time they would be out--but they did show up. Update: Nicole saw this review and left me a voice message for over a minute berating me. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I would love to upload the voicemail as she asked me to post it with my review but don't see a way. Meanwhile I called A Bee Man and they were extremely helpful and came within a couple of hours. Similar to other reviewers my problem is not with their bee removal service but with their scheduler. She was incredibly rude. I left a message on their voicemail but never received a call back. I did however accidentally call her number back when I received a response from another company and she was very snotty and put out by it. The next day our bee problem had gotten considerably worse and they were entering our house by the hundreds and I called them again because the other weekend quote I received was very high. She called me back this time and proceeded to ask my why I was freaking out about a swarm outside. When I told her that no, like I said in my message, they were now entering our house by the hundreds, she asked my why we weren't preventing them from getting into the house and told me that we should just tape up wherever they were getting in. That sounds like a long term solution... I can't imagine how these people are getting any business if this is the way they treat potential customers. read more

I waited a week for an appointment with Bee Catchers, and stayed home from work to meet them at 3:00 p.m. on a Wednesday. They never showed. After leaving a message, I was finally contacted via text after 4:00 p.m. with a message that Bee Catchers apparently "got stuck" at another job. They claimed to have tried to contact me earlier in the day, but I did not have a missed call or voice message--they admitted to having "terrible phone reception." They did offer to refer me to someone else, but at that point I decided to cut my losses. I had bees in my stove exhaust vent. I hire this company. They come and get the bees out by cutting open the vent on the roof and some portion of roof flap by the vent and then re-seal the vent/roof flap. It rains several days after they did their work and i have rain water pouring down through my stove exhaust vent, no where else but through the vent they worked on, this vent has never leaked before. They didn't seal the vent/roof properly after they performed their work to get the bees out. I call and let them know what happened. They come back several days later and re-seal their work again. The next time it rains, i still have water dripping down through my vent, much less but still dripping water. So, they couldn't even seal it properly the second time around..I call back again and let them know. I get told that someone will be there again to try and seal it AGAIN. They then cancel this appointment next day due to some larger, more important job and reschedule for next day. Next day comes and I sit and wait for the appointment time to come and pass. I call to ask them where they are. She tells me they are running late. At this point i have had enough of these people and fed up with my time being wasted. I have been polite and respectful this whole time but at this point I had to tell her off and head to work, sick and tired of dealing and waiting on these people. My time is valuable too, OK, Nicole? I still have all my text messages with you for any proof of conversations, if you want to deny this happened or try to spin this in your favor, Nicole.. My stove ventilation system is completely ruined and gutted, because of the water damage, as a direct result of this company doing their work. They took my issue with the bees and created for me an even larger issue with the complete destruction of my stove ventilation system. Use at your own risk. I called these guys on a Friday, they said they'd come on Monday to remove a hive in my back yard...but never showed up. When I called to see why they were late, I was told, "Oh no, we never schedule appointments when there's rain in the forecast." The only rain forecasted was for the day before. I will say that the woman I spoke with was very pleasant when she lied, though. We rescheduled for the following day. They were a no-show again! No call, no show, no correspondence whatsoever. This business is one that everyone needs to avoid. The owner is vicious and nasty. She attacked me personally when I questioned her quote. She threatened retribution to my business and all because I chose to go with another company who gave me a quote that was a fourth of the quote that this business gave me. The business I did choose did an excellent job despite Bee Catcher telling me I was an idiot to choose anyone else!. Literally told me I was a "F-ing Idiot" I see the other reviews of people who had the same experience that I had. This woman was unprofessional, she was nasty and rude, she used foul language and threatened me and my business if I posted anything negative about her company. I feel the risk needs to be taken. The first visit was good. On time, got the yellow jackets out from our backyard. Easy-peazy. The second time they had to reschedule at the last minute because of an hour of rain. No problem. This business is a sham. The owner is Steve and he came out to my condo to look at a small hole that bees were coming out of. I had lived in this unit for several years and had only seen these bees for a couple of days. Steve comes by and tries to sell me a major problem that requires ripping out the wall. I told him I only wanted to patch up the hole like was told to me on the phone to prevent bees and insects from coming back. This guy got pissed or something and he just puts a wire mesh in the hole. He told me that wire mesh would not only prevent bees from coming back but also insects. That's ridiculous, what kind of a fool does he think I am? I can stick my pinky through the wire mesh. Beware of the snake oil guy Steve. He told me he'll come back to plug up the hole but he never came back after I've left him numerous voice message. To top it off he didn't leave me a receipt. Hi there. I am reading through all these negative comments and I am shocked. Nicole and Steve are probably the best in the business. I have used them 3-4 times now and every time they have exceeded my expectations. The have remove several large hives from my farm walnut tree in the back yard and every time they did more than what I expected them to do. You have to understand that they are busier than the most because of the high demand, so they have to plug you in somewhere in their schedule. If you are a reasonable person, than you understand that nothing in life is easy. That being said, I am also shocked that someone said Nicole was unprofessional? Not been my experience with her, I will use them as long as I have a bee problem and no one else. And if you want to know about prove, they are sometimes half the cost of others in the area. Once they arrived, they assessed the situation and advised the most non-invasive treatment for my home, and for the bees. This is the second time I have used Bee Catchers. I would recommend them highly. Nicole is prompt and helpful on the phone and scheduling is not a problem. They do not charge an "inspection fee" as some others do and their work is impeccable. The first time they had to break through an outside wall of my home (on my deck) and the second time had to pull up carpeting and go through the floor of a guest bedroom....both times, they repaired everything so well, you would never know they were there! A few weeks ago, at the height of Covid madness, I was in my room minding my own business when I looked out my window and saw 10,000 bees swarming around making the loudest buzzing sound I've ever heard. I thought, "First a pandemic, now this???" At this point I had ZERO idea what a bee swarm even meant......... But Bee Catchers did! Nicole was very responsive via email and phone, and she walked me through the fascinating process of bees swarming: why they do it, how long they'll do it for, what to expect, and what I need to do. By the end of the week, Bee Catchers had sent over a really friendly, knowledgeable guy who was able to extract the hive from our walls and save about 15,000 bees. He also took pictures & videos and texted them to me afterwards so I could wow the ladies on social media ("oooh you're so brave!!" they'd say). Bee Catchers did an amazing job at our apartment building. We noticed a hive in the landing that was very close to one of our tenant's doors. We had previously called another bee removal company which suggested making a huge hole in the stucco, using chemicals and then leaving the hole open. Well that wasn't going to work for us. The Bee Catchers were able to come out, even during this whole covid crisis, and take care of our hive removal. They did it quickly, safely and affordably. They relocated the bees and patched the wall. Now all we have to take care of is a tiny bit of touchup paint. I highly recommend Nicole and her team. They are quality professionals. Bee Catchers did the most amazing job and believe me I shopped around. We had a 4'x3' hive in our house wall. My main priority was to safely relocate the bees to a nice home. Nicole is a biologist and knows her stuff. The guys came almost immediately with an infrared camera to locate the hive. The next day Mr Bee showed up, opened the wall, gently vacuumed the bees into a terrarium, took out the hive, saved the Queen, cleaned the cavity, insulated the space and closed up the wall all in 3 hours. I tried to give 0 stars but it wouldn't let me ... I read the reviews prior to scheduling bee removal service for my boss but because of the nature of the business I was more concerned with their ability to humanely remove the bees as opposed to their customer service tactics. I am super detailed and I write everything down, I was quoted $650 and Nicole (I think that is her name) had specific questions that she needed answers to before she could give me the quote. After she quoted me $650, I asked her if the quote would change and she said based on what I told her $650 was a "firm offer". I called back later that afternoon to schedule an appointment and she got angry, "you called at 10am", I replied "ok" and then she proceed to angrily tell me that it was too late for them to remove the bees. I'm a New Yorker, born and raised, so I wasn't really fazed but I should have been. This was a BIG red flag. The appointment window was 9am-10pm; Ted (the bee remover guy) got there at 11:45am and told my boss it would cost $1500 to remove the bees. So I called Ted, Ted was nice, it seemed out of his hands, he explained to me why the estimate was so high but all of his reasons were questions that were asked of me when I called for a quote. (Locations, years the bees had been there, etc). He said he would call the owner. The owner agreed to $650 but my boss wanted me to confirm this with the office, so I called the office. I asked Nicole if they would honor the quote and she began to yell and scream. I could barely make out what she was saying but she did call me a liar several times. LOL. What did I lie about? Well.. your guess is as good as mine. I spoke to my boss and told him I had a backup service and advised him to decline service with Bee Catchers, which he did. I guess this made Nicole angry or angrier because she called my office and began to scream and yell...again.. I'm rarely if ever fazed by snarky nasty people or by screaming and yelling. I felt sort of sorry for her.. you get more flies with honey or in this case.. you get more bees with honey *bada bing* lol! I asked her "why are you calling me and yelling, please don't call my place of business" and I hung up. Oh wait, I also suggested she go meditate... then I hung up. I asked the receptionist not to forward the calls. She called back..got nasty with the receptionist and threatened to file a complaint with the BBB..??? *confused face* I am an individual so perhaps she is going to file the complaint on herself.. lol.. She demanded my cell phone number, which the receptionist declined to provide. This is a level of un-professionalism that is unmatched. I am mad at myself for ignoring the reviews on yelp but you live and you learn. I am sure she will leave an angry reply to this review but I have already spoken to the police about harassment so if she harasses me I will just file a restraining order. Made a next day appointment at a specific time and they did not call or come by. I called once every hour for a few times and nada. The phone message promises to get back to you within 30 minutes.... Nope! I wasted all morning waiting and still have the bees. They finally called back when I posted a bad rating of one on Yelp! I changed the rating to a Two because they did finally call back but had a different spin on what was promised. I wanted to hire a company that could get rid of bees without killing them from a tree in my front yard so I hired and paid Bee Catchers $425 on October 5th, which was the first time they came to my house. After 3 separate attempts over 6 weeks, the bees just keep moving from one hole to another. Every time I could see they didn't go away, I'd call Bee Catchers to let them know it didn't work, but trying to get a hold of the owner was extremely difficult. While I appreciate that the company came back 3 times to attempt to drive the bees out and screen/cement more holes, the work was sloppy (they spilled cement splotches on walkway and didn't clean it up) and I had to hound them every single time to even get a response from the company. On Tuesday of last week, I finally got a hold of the owner and she said one of her guys would come out the following afternoon for the 4th attempt. They were a no show. I have tried calling, texting and emailing since Wednesday - no response from them. I had to spend another $350 with another company to finally get rid of the bees. So I essentially paid $425 to Bee Catchers for nothing more than screen/cement on my tree and spilled cement on my walkway. read more
