Call Eloy first. We had a huge yellowjacket nest under an avocado tree. Through yelp, i sent several requests for estimates along with pictures. The responses were anywhere from $550 flat, to "$395 but it might be more" to "can you send pictures". Eloy quoted a flat "175 or 195 depending on how steep the hill actually is". We had a bee problem. Our next door neighbor choped down a dead tree releasing tons of bees in search of a home, which, when you live next door to a ton of bees, provides some solution. So they dug a small hole into the wall of our house and apparently started building a honeycomb. We didn't know that, but bees started congregating in the back yard and ultimately we decided we might have a class bee problem (that joke kills when I say it). And we did. So I looked around because I know there is a bee shortage and wanted to be humane, but second, get rid of the mofos because they scared me. Julio was terrific, keeping up the correspondence and showing as scheduled. So, don't be alarmed, but there were arond 30K bees and bees wax and a queen in there somewhere inside the building but outside the interior of my house, building a rather intricate, and beautiful hive. But I wanted those bees gone, however interesting. They are anesthetized, vacuumed with a special vaccum and sent, comb and all to the bee farm somewhere. I did ask if a bee farm was a euphemism for a large garbage disposal but was assured that they actually do keep the bees, which need homes that aren't mine. Or maybe yours. Anyhow, I found the price reasonable and the service impeccable. They had to a cut a slice from the house, anethetized, vacuum and remove the hive intact. They wear those cute bee suits to do it. It's like having a sci-fi movie from the fifties in your yard. But I have no complaints. They did a great job repatching the wall, reminding me of my hip surgery with small scars and a better working hip if a better working hip means "beeless wall".
