I sincerely value my Burbank Mills Pest, family owned, husband and wife and the service cannot be beat. An example of this was in a recent service their tech alerted me that one of the crawl space doors was ajar under my home. Today one of the two owners came by to look at the door and offered to repair it (as I am disabled and some such repairs beyond me). I was so heartened by his visit and offer of help. I recently changed to Mills Pest Management, and I can already tell they are top notch. My technician, Nick, arrived on time and did a wonderful job for a quarterly maintenance service. He spotted a black widow and its egg sack on one of my garbage bins and took care of that. Scary to think what could have happened by surprise one day. My previous company, which last visited my house less than 3 months ago, never mentioned anything even though I've always had a lot of spider webs. I guess it's possible this could have happened during the interim, but I really doubt it. It was time for a change, and I'm so glad I went with Mills. Our family has used Mills Pest Management for many years and I couldn't say enough great things about Kevin, his family, all of his technicians and the overall business! Kevin is a straight shooter who doesn't pull punches and I like that! He tells it like it is and backs up anything he recommends. We've used so many companies in the past where the owner or some rep shows up with a wind tunnel tested hairdo and Armani suit to sell their service and from that point forward you get hourly paid, first day on the job workers who doesn't give a hoot about their business! Every single Mills rep or technician who's shown up at our home has always been professional, polite, and if they can't answer a question, they get back to us almost immediately with an answer! I also know the Mill's a little better than some since one of his son's went to school with my son. I was so impressed watching his son grow up to be the great man he is today, working for his father and supporting the family. One of the most polite young men I've ever known and as with the entire family, mirrors the great character possessed by his father! As for the service Mills provides, we subscribe to their bi-monthly plan where they come out ever other month and spray inside and out. The communications they provide by both email and text messages with the office is second to none! I don't believe they have ever shown up outside the window they give to arrive on the day of service. And they have never cancelled or show up late. I decided to go with tent fumigation, and scheduling was easy. The owner himself kept in touch with me to give me all the guidelines for preparation. They took care of scheduling gas shut-off and service restoration for me. The fumigation crew did their job flawlessly. We returned to our home with no problems. I found a skunk with its head in a plastic contraption. The day was hot and the animal appeared in distress. I contacted Mills Pest Control. Kevin (the owner), came out within 2 hours of my call. He was able to free the skunk. He discussed with me the different methods to prevent a situation like this from occuring again. He was wonderful. Let me start out this review with an opinion. If Mill's was not contracted, my partner would not of been robbed. From my recent experience I have come to the opinion Kevin, the owner of Mills, outsources labor to maximize his potential profit and this time it has gone too far. It is my opinion Kevin has used his family to market his business via Yelp photos to give the impression this is a trust worthy family operated business. But I view this as marketing as it seems his family were NOT the ones that showed up to do ANY of the work, contrary to what his Yelp photos could lead you to believe. We did not witness or have any reason to believe a single Mill's family member bothered to show up and supervise any of the contractors much less do any of the actual work. Don't get me wrong, I see the financial benefit in not doing the work yourself. You can be the face, remember the family photos, while the contractor does the work. This may potentially allow Kevin to collect money with no accountability. And from my opinion it has worked, and in my opinion it still works. But hopefully this review puts a stop to this business model, at least for Mill's. In my conversation with Kevin it was my interpretation he argued that the people on site had a zero probability of being involved in the robbery. But I cannot see how that is true being that I have no knowledge of his staff ever being on site in this incident. I called Kevin immediately after the robbery yet within 10 seconds of talking to Kevin he claimed, with zero evidence, that it was impossible for this contractor, I believe he actually called them his "boys" on the call, to have been involved in the robbery. I asked how he knew, his response.."cause I know". Now I believe that to be non-factual response. At that point I felt this was an unreasonable person I was talking to and told him the rest of the conversation will be online. I simply ended the conversation there at which point he continually called my phone back which I opted to not further respond. I am simply not going to argue with someone I interpret as nonsensical. I think he felt very threatened by this potential exposure. I do not recommend Mill's. read more

Honestly, I never thought I would have reason over the past three years to have ongoing communication with a top-notch pest control company. But extreme heat and Covid lead of course to unusual circumstances. While I was lucky to never have anything too drastic, as you can see from previous reviews there was the occasional reason to consult with an expert. Every occasion, the owner, Kevin, was exceptionally patient, kind, and generous with his guidance and service. Whereas most companies would look for every reason in the world to up charge, or add suggestions for more service, KEVIN went the opposite way, taking a conservative approach so that everything always fell under budget. Not only that, he would have various business staff go out of their way to drop things off so that I wouldn't even need to go out to purchase various items that would help with the upkeep. Disappointing to say the least, did NOT get what was promised, communication between phone service rep and technician was frightening, my tenants said one thing the tech said another and the service rep said something else, although they did try to resolve, it was a mess and for rodent proofing that is OVER $1k you would think there would be some sort of promise to come back and rectify without wanting to charge another $250. The company I went with now, came out and serviced my house properly and did NOT charge me for what Mills Pest Management promised but failed to come through with, literally took them 1 hour to fix the issue and now they have a life long customer, I guess Mills Pest Management just doesn't see it that way, integrity and honestly I guess keeping your word is a complete false promise! anyways, BUYER BEWARE!!! Mills simply CANNOT be trusted, sadly, even after I told them what previously occurred. In response to your false claims no one ever bullied nor manipulated anyone you failed miserably and are far from accepting the accountability and responsibility on your teams part let's be straight up -you failed. As far as manipulation goes, you once again are inaccurate in your claim, let me help you with what the word actually means: Clearly you have no idea what you are talking about! ma·nip·u·la·tion the action of manipulating something in a skillful manner. the action of manipulating someone in a clever or unscrupulous way. If you did the job the correct way, and how we agreed, and which I paid for! I do have the check you cashed for $1085, I have also attached a photo of it! $1085 for a job not completed, and now you are questioning MY integrity, honesty and behavior?... I am writing another updated review for Mills Pest Management, which I continue to highly recommend for anyone dealing with a rodent issue. As they eradicated a huge problem with rats several years ago, I immediately called Mills when one of my traps captured a rodent last week in our attic. Alise, who handles all their calls, quickly set a time for someone to come out and address the problem. The following day, despite temperatures in the 100s, Dillon arrived right on time, quickly suited up, and crawled around our hot attic until he found a very small opening used by the rat; which we were then able to close. All in all, it is comforting to know that Mills has the professional expertise to quickly resolve any problem concerning rodents. A few years ago we found 2 wasp nests in our backyard and called Mills Pest Management to come out and take a look. I think it was Kevin who came out and confirmed it was wasp nests and took them down. Since then, we've had them come out every 3 months to spray the exterior of the house to make sure spiders and any other pests are controlled and or eliminated. They came out 2 weeks ago to spray, but last week noticed that the wasps were starting a new nest, so I called Mills and explained our situation. Before we knew it, two of their guys came out to remove the nest and spray once again around the yard. The service Mills Pest Management provides is TOP NOTCH! BEWARE not only do they subcontract work out without letting clients know whom they use, but they don't provide information or references for those additional businesses. If they do, we did not receive this kind of service treatment. They didn't follow up to check whether or not the service was, in fact, completed (i.e., pests are gone) nor were messes cleaned up while in our home immediately after the job. The fumigation company used had left our backyard in disarray, and garbage was left around. There was also a random folding chair left in an apt. I would recommend a more reputable, larger company that actually operates with a corporate mentality for high-quality standards of contractors, given the lackluster service we received. read more

They won't fix your cockroach problem! We reached out to Mills about a cockroach problem because of their great reviews. First visit, we told the guys that came what the roaches looked like and where we were seeing them. In 5 minutes they told us it was probably American roaches coming from the outside. That's it. No further inspection, which we wanted them to do since we felt they were coming from under the house. But they seemed confident so we let the experts lead. Then they preceded to tell us our options. One time spray exterior (and interior, if we told them to) with a 30day warranty (a quick google will tell you that roaches can go without eating for 30 days) or ongoing treatments. After some nudging from the Mills people, we went with the one time spray --which is toxic to humans and pets while wet (but if you have a dog that likes to lick kitchen floors, it's best not to let them in that area at all while the spray is there, so we had to block off the kitchen from our dog during this whole ordeal). In the next couple of weeks we saw many dead/near-dead roaches. Great, except it never stopped the roaches from coming at all! So we called them again around the 30 days and they came back out to spray again. And the same issue. The roaches NEVER stopped coming. And we also recaulked, plugged our drains and added weather stripping to our doors-all work we had to do on our own. Not knowing what to do, I called them about 2.5 months after our initial call and told them we were really unhappy with the situation. The lady on the phone was really nice and seemed concerned, but her first go to was to start doing the ongoing treatments. We already paid hundreds of dollars when they didn't fix the issue, why would we pay them more! So she told us she'd talk to the main treatment person the next business day and would get back to us right away. That never happened. We have since tried those gel baits the you can buy online and had MUCH more success. I think the biggest issue is that the insecticide spray doesn't get back to the nest, it just kills the roaches that come into the home. So we feel that we lost a couple hundred dollars to Mills for no good reason. I would never recommend them. They've absolutely lost my trust. The ONLY reason I gave them two stars is because the woman on the phone was always very nice. read more

I'm tardy with this review. I've been using Mills Pest Management for about 2 years now and kept meaning to state how happy I am with their service. Two years ago I felt we were being over run with spiders, ants, and crickets. I called the first company that came to mind - oh, let's say it's name starts with a T. I took a day off work for their visit. They never showed! I called that afternoon and they confirmed I had that appointmen. So it was on their books. Just a no show guy! A friend advised I go with a local company. I found Mills and was impressed with their Yelp reviews. I had a good feeling about them even from the warm and cheery voice I first heard on the phone. I'm so very glad I went with them. I've been doing a bi-monthly treatment and the lack of "critter visits" has been dramatic. And - every member of their crew has shown the utmost professional, punctual, respectful - to our property - and me, efficient, and cordial practice.
