Hello I am a Pastor of a church in Northridge. I have been using Reliant Pest Control for many years. I spray my home twice a year. The issue I had was with the lady on the phone at Reliant Pest Control. There is a miscommunication with her. Basically, the company is looking for more money from me. I used to pay $85.00 for a service call. I called a few days to book another appointment. The lady tells me that the price is gone up from $85 to $120 every 6 months. She was also asking for another reinitiation fee of $168. This is not fair!!. She was trying to put the blame on me. Please restore my price and I will consider staying with your company. read more

Just an update. These guys have been so helpful. Our problems started with mice/rats in the yard, and we could hear them in the walls as well. It's apparently a longstanding problem. We bought the house 25 years ago and there were traps around the attic when we bought it, probably because our avocado tree and ivy offered both food and shelter to the little critters. But it started getting out of control. Not sure how I heard about Reliant but they came out and plugged the holes around the crawlspace and other parts of the house, explained how we needed to trim the tree back from the house, and then they left a bunch of traps around in the attic. For a while we'd be sitting in the family room, hear a trap snap, we'd find a rodent, and then here's the best part, I'd call them up and they'd come out and remove the thing and rebait the trap. Since then they do regularly maintenance but we haven't had any rodents in the house since, and only rarely one in the yard. I really couldn't ask for anything more. They're reasonably priced, they're responsive when we have a problem, and we no longer hear/find rodents inside our house. read more

I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to get me scheduled for a Saturday. I work M-F 9-5 so weekend service is very convenient for me. Kini was our technician. He called me when he was headed my way, and I loved the heads up! I had more questions for him when he arrived and he was very helpful and professional. I signed up for the bi-monthly service. I had a problem with some ant-like insects invading my bathroom. Swarms of them would show up every few weeks. Some looked like ants and some had wings. I took photos and sent them to a another pest control company who had good reviews on Yelp. They thought it was termites and put me in touch with their termite expert who told me I had carpenter ants, not termites, but when I called back to let them know what THEIR expert had said, they were incredibly rude and insisted they knew better and that I had termites. Needless to say, I had no intention of giving them my business. I called Reliant and what a difference in customer service. They were exceptionally nice and the woman who answered the phone was polite and very helpful. She showed the photos to Gary who confirmed I had carpenter ants. He came to my house the next day and thoroughly searched my attic and bathroom to find the source of the carpenter ants, found where they were coming from and gave me a quote. I scheduled the service and they came on time and again a couple of weeks later. I have also scheduled quarterly service. Gary is real gentleman and Reliant's employees are all professional and very helpful. Gary knows his pests and the most efficient way to deal with them. Complete horrible experience completely failed on every aspect of my service. Today was auppos d to be my first service after pre paying and giving them my credit card info and signing a service agreement. Contract for 12 months I was very specific and told them via email and on the phone please you must have your tech call me on his way so I can meet him to let him in no one is home during the day. Even this morning I called their office and reminded them please have your tech call on his way office girl assured me he would. My appointment was 12-5. So at 445 technician calls and says he's at my house. No call prior. After taking everything out from under the sinks like they asked and moving things away from the walls in garage I'm pissed. I call the office. Get a recording their closed and to call another number if it's important. So I do and get Lori the girl I spoke to about please have your guy call before coming So she tells me sorry he can't come. Back till next week to do the inside. CANCEL and refund my money this is the most unprofessional company. As a person that owns a service company myself not hard to send a text or call that service technician is on their way. I would suggest you skip this company and find someone. Else. Completely dissatisfied. On top of that he comes at 5 and you have to stay out of house for 2 hours. I called Reliant for ants in one of my units. The service tec was extremely nice but all he did for $200 was spray in one corner where I showed him where the ants were and he left. I checked in the camera how long he was there for and he was in and out in less than 5 mins. The tenant called me the next day and complained that there were ants on the table as well as in the corner under the table. I went to home depot, purchased the same spray Reliant was using for $9 and did it my self properly. I called the company phone and left a message and no one replied. Unprofessional service. They were very quick to take the $200 and very quick to make me sign the arbitration agreement however. read more

CLIFF NOTES: READ THE LAST PARAGRAPH Gary and Kenny have been AWESOME, INCREDIBLE stand-up guys since we started doing business. They both have been the most courteous, respectful, honest and ethical business people I have worked with. Unfortunately, their hired employee, Stephanie, was unable to process (in terms of comprehension) our historical agreement and was adamament in pushing an ancillary charge for service in between quarters. I'm old school so I have a weakness for honoring verbal/handshake agreements in business. Because my previous arrangement with their staff is not in writing, Stephanie explained to me that I would have to pay an equivalent fee to that which I pay on a quarterly basis for service between quarters. As a result of Stephanie's position, I have formally requested my service agreement be cancelled immediately. I'm sincerely disappointed. My advice to anyone who reads this review is to document everything in writing because despite Gary, Owner, having the best of intentions, all it takes is an egotistical, know-it-all front office staff/manager to kill a business relationship. read more

We have been using Reliant Pest Control for two years now. When we first moved into the house, we could hear the scheduling of rodents in the walls. We called Reliant out and set up a regular plan for treatment. Within a month, the rodents were gone and have never come back. We also found a few areas with termite infestation. Once again, Reliant treated the areas and we never had any reoccurrence of the termites. One of the amazing things about Reliant is that sometimes the owner of the company will come out himself to do the work. Whenever there is any issue, we will hear from them within 24 hours and they will handle it. I cannot speak highly enough of this amazing business that takes such good care of its customers and get such amazing results in keeping your home free of pests. read more

I recently had a pest inspection of my house and wanted a second opinion so I decided to find someone on Yelp. This company was "verified" and so many positive reviews so I thought "How can I go wrong with them?" Well, I called them up on Dec. 29th and the lady on the phone was polite and very helpful. She told me because of the backlog the soonest they could come out was January 3rd between noon and 5pm. I said no problem and gave them my contact info. I am literally typing this as my service window has come and gone. They have both my cell and my email address, but I was never notified of a delay nor a cancellation. Time to register a "ding" to their slew of positive reviews as this is unprofessional and unacceptable. My time is just as valuable as yours and doesn't deserve to be wasted in such a manner. Negative 5 stars! I really should have read the other 1 star reviews before calling them because this is apparently not an isolated incident. read more

They came to our house two times in June and July and we used their service to eliminate ants and spiders but it looks that they are not good at their job because still (in August )we have a lot of ants and spiders however they charged us $175 as their service fee . I called them and wanted them to reschedules for us again but they wanted me to pay them again for second time their service fee of $175 I believe in that this is not fair. it is not my fault when you pay for something and it does not work. I have been using Gary for numerous years! You'll notice that the other reviews state that Gary is an honest person. He's also very patient, understanding, and reliable. Before I contacted Reliant Pest Control, I could not understand why I had a rat problem. I didn't realize that I purchased a house that had about a quarter inch space all around the house that the rats were able to enter. A previous company did not even notice the space that was all around the house. Well, we had a contractor close the gaps. We had Reliant Pest Control set traps inside the attic to get rid of those rats that were in there while the contractor was sealing the gaps. After that... voila... no more rats! We also HAD a cricket problem. Now that Reliant Pest Control comes to our house every month or two, we no longer have to listen to that irritating cricket noise. I REALLY LIKE Gary. He had the lowest monthly service. He's totally honest about what needs to be done. There are those that will just tell you to tent the house, but he'll tell you what needs to be repaired. You'll have the option of repairing the damage and/or tenting the whole house. read more

Guys! Please read this review very carefully, if you are looking for a reliable service. DO NOT TRUST THESE GUYS!!! Guy showed up at my door and asked me to leave the house as he has to perform service. I just moved in to my new house and asked that there are valuables in the house and I will not be leaving the house. I will be showing you the area where I need the service to be performed, while you are doing it. The response that I receive from this guy is "We have a insurance, so if anything is missing", please report it to our management and you will be reimbursed". He also lied to me that the owner of the house has to be out from the house while the service is being performed per state law. That is absolutely incorrect. I have checked with the Pest Control Board. So, when during his first visit, I did not let him enter the house, he refused to give me the signed contract back as I am not ready to let anybody enter my property without my supervision. Gary rocks. Had dry wood termites in more than one location of my home. Had to get tented. I got 3 estimates. One from Orkin, one from Hydrex (who is my current pest control company) and one from Reliant. Orkin came in high for an approx 1600 sq. ft. home at $2300. ($200 off if I "booked today"... I hate that pressure sales stuff. *See my review of Pacific Homeworks and you will see what I mean*) Hydrex and Reliant came in much, MUCH, more reasonable. Actually, Hydrex came in a tad bit less but... I decided to go with Reliant for a couple of reasons. One, Gary. He really is that cool. Second, I really like to give my business to someone local, a small business owner. You know, keep your money in your community, rather than to a larger franchise. Don't get me wrong, Hydrex isn't that huge, and have always been good to me... But heck, they get my monthly service already. Anyway, house was tented on time, removed on time, and no more evidence of termites. What more can you ask for? Thanks Gary, it was a pleasure. We were in the process of selling our house in Northridge and were looking for a company to do the termite inspection. We Googled the Web and of course Yelp and in Yelp reviews, Reliant Pest Control came up as a top company and we decided to hire them to do the termite inspection. Gary, who is also the owner, came out and did the inspection and found some termite tubes in the garage. It looks like the tubes are dormant and there was no sign of termite activity, but to be sure, Gary suggested termite treatment to make sure there will not be a termite problem in the future. He also observed the presence of some dry rot on the outside wood that was always wet from the outside sprinklers. Gary quoted a reasonable estimate and sent Tim to do the termite treatment. Tim did a really good and professional job with the termite treatment and with removing of the wood rot. Escrow closed after a few days and we were able to move in to a different house soon after. Tony came out (right on time) and instantly evaluated the two areas we were concerned about. One was just dry rot and the other...cricket droppings. I had three estimates for termite treatment and Gary was the only honest person in the bunch. Thank you YELP for helping me find him! Gary showed up on time, did a walk thru inspection of my properties, pointed out the issues and hazards and gave me some good preventative advice. He gave me a fair honest quote and he stuck to it...no add ons or up sells, I HATE salesmen...Gary is just an honest tradesman. Gary was back a few days latter with his helper and treated my termite problem in a timely manor. Why cant all contractors be like Gary!!!??? Reading this you may think I am friends with or have a biast opinion of Gary so I will add this to round things out and show the honesty in my review......I didn't care for the repair guy that Gary referred. The repair guy was supposed to be at my property Wed morning between 9am and 10am....he called me at about 7pm Wed night to tell me he wouldn't come...needless to say I wont be using his services. Lots of places to use in the LA area for pest death. Problem is it can be very difficult finding companies that know what they are doing. Reliant came as a suggestion from a friend. I skimmed over their Yelp reviews and it looked good. Called the number, spoke to a very friendly and nice girl on the phone and set up an appointment. I work like most folks and it's hard to get time off if not impossible for my job. Not without taking a full sick or vacation day. So I was happy to see they had an 8-9a slot. They also were able to get someone to my place the VERY next day and not weeks later. Which; when you have your own version of "8-Legged Freaks" happening in your home; this is good thing. LA traffic, as we all know, is an unpredictable beast. I had a "hard-out" at 9am. Nothing I could do about it. Sadly, Reliant arrived around 20m after 9a. I was long gone. Before I could even call to re-schedule, they called me. They had an appointment run-over. (hey that's a good thing, shows they were taking the time needed for the previous appointment!) Then, of course, their guy got hammered in LA traffic. NO BIG DEAL and totally understandable. I re-scheduled for Friday that same week at the same time. Come Friday I had a ring at my door at 8am sharp! First appointment of the day this time. 20m later, the room was sprayed down. Spiders running and screaming for their lives. A follow up appointment, which is included with the cost, comes weeks later. Good value and good people! You want dead bugs and people who *really* know bugs? Look nowhere else. read more

The good news is I didn't have termites. The better news is I know who to call if I do! My neighbors on either side of my home had tented their houses for termites in the last year and I was very concerned about my house although I didn't see any evidence of infestation. I felt like a sitting duck for any less then reputable pet control company to claim I had dry wood termites and try to tent my house just because of the proximity to my neighbors. I did my Yelp research carefully and called Tony at Reliant who showed up on time, gave my house a thorough inspection, crawlspace to attic. I was prepared for the worst and was most pleasantly surprised when Tony gave my place the all clear and didn't charge me a dime. Bottom line is I hope to never need the professional services of a company like Reliant, but if I do I have high confidence that Tony and his team will do it right. read more

I chose this company from the yelp reviews. They have been awesome since the day I called. I was able to make an appointment for when I needed it so they have great flexibility. The time-frame I was told was arrival between 8-10. Well I had to leave by 1030 so I asked if it could be closer to 8 and the great thing was he showed up shortly after 8 which was super convenient for me! Yay and it gave me more time to ask questions! :) So, today Rudolfo came out and he was professional, nice and very informative. I had suspected rodent action in our house and was so scared! He confirmed my suspicion of rodents as we even saw footprints....eeeks. :( Every homeowners nightmare! ahhh. Well traps were set, and the other things are going to be attended too so we can ensure that this doesn't happen ever again! I also signed up for a quarterly plan where they come out every few months to set traps, spray, etc. And for $95 that is totally worth it to me! This is a great company and they are very detailed in their job! I've had other pest control companies come out and put "band-aids" on the situation....which is why I am having this problem again!
